I drove about 30 minutes to a local Rose's in Dunn, NC looking for a reclining sofa that was advertised on the website. Basically I wanted to physically sit down on that sofa to see if I wanted to purchase it. I walked to the furniture department and saw no one at the time so I went back towards the front and saw an individual who was later identified as the store manager and asked her very nicely could I get someone in the furniture department and she immediately caught an attitude and stated "They should be back there" and I looked at her hoping she would page the staff back there and when she made no attempt to do so I started to walk back to the furniture area and overheard her say very nasty to another customer who was nearby "that ain't my department, I don't know why he is asking me".
So I eventually went to the warehouse doors and got the attention of the employees that I needed to see. While doing business with a Ms. Michelle the manager came back through and I stated to her "thanks for not helping me" she got really nasty after I said that and started say something under her breath to me to me which actually while reading her lips it appeared to me that she actually used a racial slur while she was walking with another young lady who had black hair. I asked her what did she just say to me but she kept walking while looking back angrily towards me and at that point I was kind of getting upset at her for saying something racial so I then stated "you can go now because I refuse to deal with nasty employees no matter what their status. I asked someone in the store what her name was and was told it was a store manager named Andrea Hudson. I did spend 1,200 dollar with the furniture person named Michelle Oates and she was very apologetic and helpful. In fact if it was not for her I would have walked out never to visit the Dunn, NC store ever again in my lifetime.
Desired outcome: Obviously it is too late to retrain this individual so my suggestion would be immediate termination or demotion. I will take this complaint as far as I can take it until I get the desired action.
