On 3-9-22 I went in for my first appointment to complain about throbbing pain in the tooth that sits directly beside the front tooth. After x-rays they said I needed a root canal for the tooth I was complaining about and a root canal for the canine tooth right next to that tooth.
On 3-16-22 I went in for the two root canals.
On 4-4-22 I went in for core buildups and pins. They also installed the temporary crowns.
On 5-9-22 I went in to have the permanent crowns installed.
It took one week to get back in for the root canals which wasn’t too bad.
It took almost 3 weeks before they got me in for the core buildups plus temporary crowns.
Then it took 4 weeks before they received the permanent crows in the mail, then one more week before they could install the crowns.
This took a total of 2 months for two root canals and two permanent crowns to be completed.
Then after they installed these poor looking crowns. I said they needed replaced and they agreed. They said they would call me to set up an appointment however they never did. I called after a few weeks of waiting and asked for an appointment and they set me up with one. During this appointment I asked for a refund and dentist Kapilikisha said okay and sent me to the business office. The lady in the office said I would be refunded the amount I paid for the crowns and would refund my dental insurance the amount they paid against the service. It has now been 5 weeks and I have yet to see any refunds.
I am here to give you the accounts of what I witnessed as a patient at the Aspen dental in Branson Missouri and it hasn’t been pleasant. They rarely answer their phones, and if they do they will ask for your callback number so they can return your call. I rarely received a call back from this company. Most of the time when I called it would go to a voicemail for me to leave a message. These messages were never returned or they would call back hours later.
Furthermore the billing system is a little on the shady side. Be sure to keep track of what you paid plus what your insurance has paid. They will send you a invoice that shows you owe them money but in fact the amount that is owed is the insurance companies portion that has not reached aspens accounting department. So if you pay this amount then you may have overpaid on your account and have fun getting that money back.
Do not trust this Aspen dental in Branson Missouri. However it’s your money so I guess you can throw your money and time around any way you want.
I will not take my business to any Aspen dental offices again even though each office is individually owned and may be very trustworthy.
Take a look at the pictures and see the overall appearance of these crowns. Compare aspens temporary crowns compared to their permanent crowns. The temporary crowns look more like my original teeth. How could there be that much difference between the two sets of crowns. They done moldings of my teeth, so what happened? Would you want your dentist to do this kind of work in your mouth?
If Aspen dental in Branson offers me to come back in so they can fix their mistake. There is no way I could trust them after all of this. Give me a refund Aspen! If they do make this right and complete the refunds, I will come back and edit this review.
Furthermore a few weeks ago I submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau. Aspen responded to the complaint saying that they wanted to resolve the issue through me and not through BBB. I rejected aspens response saying that communication through Aspen has been non existent throughout my experience I have had with them and would like to resolve the matter going through BBB. Aspen has had several days to respond to my response but they have failed to do so. So now BBB has closed the case as unresolved. There you go people, just another reason not to use them.
Although this is in regards to Scott’s dental care at Aspen, This post was completed by a friend who used notes that were taken by Scott after each visit or after contacting them or attempted contacting them through a phone call.
Desired outcome: I would like a complete refund along with my insurance being refunded the amount they paid for this service.I was told by the dentist and the office manager that I would be refunded along with the insurance company.
Aspen Dental - Pain in tooth where it was crowned for a bridge
Dec 2021 I turned 65, eligible for $1000 from UHC medicare insurance that I wanted to use towards having a bridge made for an extracted tooth (8-2020).
Wendy was able to get me in and the bridge made before the 12-31-21 deadline. This allowed me to plan on getting another bridge done on a missing crown on my lower right in 2022.
During the 2021 prep, when Dr. Kapilikisha was drilling I felt pain in my back tooth (#14?) even though it was numbed. I tried to stay still so it wouldn't cause him any problems. Afterwards I told Wendy it hurt, it hurt a lot when she put the temporary bridge on with the cold adhesive. Just the air hitting it was painful, now I have to drink with a straw because it hurts too much. When I went in for the permanent bridge I to told her I was concerned it was going to continue to hurt and I would be wasting my $ on a bridge. She put it on with the assurance it'd be fine and I was hoping/trusting it would settle down afterwards. Online research said it could take 6-8 weeks to settle down, so I tried to be patient. I called and told her it wasn't any better she asked it it was waking me up, another call she said there was some kind of decay that had caused it. They took numerous x-rays before they did any work and nothing was ever said about a problem with that tooth. One week prior to my appt with Aspen I went to another dentist for an exam, they also took numerous x-rays/pics with no mention of a root canal. Again I've never had any pain with that tooth. I went in to see Dr. K again. I told him it had never hurt before he drilled into it. He said he did not cause this. Since I cannot chew on my left side now I have to chew only on my right side I which already had an upper bridge (2011) I have a missing crown on my lower right that we'd planned on getting another bridge done this year with Aspen. But on 3-22 my upper 2011 bridge broke so I called Aspen again and talked with one of the girls who went and talked with Dr. K who said again he did not cause this pain on my left bridge. Now they want me to get a $1100 root canal for the tooth that he drilled into on top of the $2-3000 that's already been paid. They know I need 2 more bridges done now on my right side and they charge an average of $3000 for these bridges. Add the root canal and that's getting close to $10 grand. We're retired so this is a lot of $ to come up with. If I had no pain prior to the work and now I do-why would I go back to them and get more bridges done? The lady that does their dentures said a good pair could cost $10 grand. I don't want dentures.
The staff is very good but they are understaffed and overworked.
Now it's May and we've received a letter from UHC that they are no longer going to use Dr. Kapilikisha.
Desired outcome: I feel that Aspen should pay for the root canal.I would be willing to go to the North Springfield Aspen office- Dr.E.Janarthanan.
Aspen Dental - Denture care after teeth extraction
On the 12th of December 2021 I went in to Aspen dental in Branson MO. One of the teeth that help hold the partial I had went bad so Doctor M. Kapilikisha said the tooth wasn't solid enough in the bone to warrant the work it needed to repair it. It wasn't solid any more and got sore when I chewed very much. I had just 2 teeth left. They took impressions and made an appointment to have them extracted. I had that done on I believe the 18th of December. I had a follow up the next day after keeping the new dentures in over night to allow the extraction sites to clot and waited about a half of an hour for the doctor to look at it. I called in Monday the 24th of December to tell them of a sore on the side of one of the extraction sites as well as a problem with the upper denture causing a sore spot. I wasn't scheduled an appointment to check on that until Friday December the 28th. On Thursday the 27th I was called by their office telling me they had some equipment break down and were cancelling my appointment. I told them I should have already been seen to check on this. I was told I would be taken care of at my regular appointment on the 2nd of February at 8am. I just received a call telling me that my appointment is changed to 12pm on Feb. 2nd and if they can't get to everybody they will let me know and cancel completely. I told the receptionist that someone should have seen me a week ago and if I can't be seen tomorrow someone should see me today (Feb. 1st). Some mornings my mouth is so sore I can hardly put my uppers in and my lower denture spends most of the day in the denture cup because of the problems with it.
I was ignored. This is my 4th set of dentures and I have never received this poor of care before. Even Affordable Dentures didn't treat me like this and I had to file a complaint about them because they didn't stand behind their guarantee.
Desired outcome: Since I've already paid for their service I'm not sure what my options are. I don't like the level of care I'm receiving.
I did see them today and was treated and have decided to see how my treatment goes from this point on.
