I drove my bike to the Corbin dealer in Ormond Beach FL. The bike is a brand new, 2021 Kawasaki Concours 14. It only had about 50-100 miles on it. Andy, at the Corbin store was very nice and had one in stock for a test ride. But he could not get the seat to go on, after banging and pushing and pulling on it and adding spacers he finally, he gave up. I called back a couple of days later and I was told that he didn't know that a bracket had to be removed and forcing it on would not work. During the process, he scratched and damages a stick on factory protective mat under the seat. I rode back to the store (another trip) and another guy (Mike? Matt?) figured out that the 1st guy did not read the directions about removing the bracket. I liked the seat position a lot, but it moved me back from the handlebars and I wanted to get some risers and check it out again. I asked about maybe a discount on the $618 seat due to the fact that they did require 2 trips to the store and did damage a new bike. Plus, it was in stock, I can pick it up (not ship) and it was the day before thanksgiving. I was told a flat out no way. Only discounts are during rallies. So, I like the seat, but with all of the complaints about customer service, and their apparent unwillingness to make good their own errors, I am reluctant to purchase from Corbin. I am considering buying the seat, and then also sending a complaint to the BBB and taking them to small claims court over the damage to the bike.
Desired outcome: Some sort of discount (maybe $100 or so) for my trouble (2 trips) and damage to my new bike.
