Good evening,
I signed my daughter up for swim lessons at the Greater Hollywood Location in Florida. Today was her first and last lesson. My initial complaint; the instructors are not professional and take their jobs seriously. When you have kids in the pool your suppose to be attentive while teaching instead of snickering and carrying on conversation. So I watched on and had to interrupt because I needed to reiterate that my child needs to know the basics of swimming she does not know how to breathe under water or stand the water in her nose, she has to learn those techniques. So he listened and then started teaching her that. Next he went on to other things like floating.. but by floating he dragged her back and fourth through the water while she kicked her feet. Not once did I see her float in his presence in a particular spot. Now this is what took the cake. The other instructor decided he was going to tell my daughter to dive into the pool. DIVE into the pool on her first day when she can't even float. Needless to say my daughter burned into tears and left the swim area and I did not blame her. My child was traumatized by the whole situation. It unacceptable to run a business with people who don't care to take it serious. I felt it was important for he rot learn from a professional, had I known this would have happened I could have myself throw her into the water and hope to god she comes up.. thats the way it felt to me the way she was treated. I want every dime that I have paid and I will never step foot in YMCA as log as I live.
