This website, UrHair, is not what it seems. I made the mistake of ordering two wigs from their online store, thinking that they would be as beautiful as they were described and shown in the pictures. If you've been scammed by UrHair, here's what you can do. Raise a claim with PayPal and keep all correspondence at dispute stage to a minimum. State the law and your right to a refund. You can raise claims under Item Not Received, Not as Described, or fraud.

If you're not using PayPal, raise a 'charge back' with your bank or a claim with your credit card company if the amount is over ?100. You WILL get your money back. Tell them you're a fraud victim and do it ASAP, as you may need to wait for the case to be investigated. They have to allow the seller to respond.

Once the case is escalated, don't engage with the company. They may try to email you with scaremongering tactics (like offering only a 30% refund), but hold out. Take screenshots and keep all records. Action Fraud will give you a crime reference number.

I had to start wearing wigs due to Alopecia and my regular supplier was closed because of Covid. So, I decided to try URHair. Before placing my order, I asked if I could return one of the two shades I bought in case I didn't need it. The response was positive, so I went ahead and ordered.

However, the wigs took forever to arrive, as they were made in Shanghai. When I finally received them, I was disappointed to find that the one I liked the color of was very thin and had a bald patch on top with no hair. To make matters worse, there was a clump sewn together that produced a mini ponytail. It was totally useless. Also, the dark brown hair on a light color cap made it possible to see through the hair when it moved.

I contacted Lisa, the owner of URHair, to return the wig for a refund. Her response was to reconsider because she would lose money. I had spent over ?120 and waited for five weeks! Her next response was to offer a 15% discount if I ordered two more wigs. I refused and said I would take ?100 back and pay for the return myself. I didn't need to offer this.

The next response was to give her ANOTHER ?80 to order again. I am now going through my bank for a FULL REFUND. These wigs look nice in the pictures and when you first take them out of the box, but they are no good for everyday wear. They are very thin and not suitable for everyday use.

My current four wigs (all the same) have lasted over three years and are far better than these. URHair uses the same Shanghai manufacturer and chart for their website as many other sellers use and has no control over quality. They are simply 'middle men.'
