In February 2009 Paul Damiano at United Housing Relief (UHR) responded to my on-line request for information concerning mortgage loan modification. He said that UHR could work with my mortgage company and secure a modified mortgage (after saying that I pre-qualified based on my financial information that we went over on the telephone in that initial conversation). He said they by-pass the Servicer, and go directly to the investor and that their services were money back guaranteed if they were unable to successfully secure a fixed rate, lower monthly payment mortgage that would, of course, be in my benefit.
He said this would cost me $1, 595. I paid this in 2 payments. Needless to say, they were not able to work anything out. Once this was clear, after confirming with my mortgage company, I contacted UHR several times via email and telephone and they do not respond.
I would not recommend anyone using this company as I have heard from at least 2 other people who have tried working with them that they have had the same experience with them. They are scam artists.
ALLANnWAYNE - I am the person who began with the initial complaint about UHR. UHR was not able to secure a modification for me. This fact was confirmed with my mortgage servicer. I was pre-qualified by P. Damiano. I made sure they received my information in a timely manner. I made sure the lines of communication were open because I was the one who kept them open. I was the one who contacted Tina via email and telephone to let them know when I would be out of the office and they could contact me at my home number. I was the one who contacted them when too much time had passed and I felt that it would be good to have an update. Eventually I would hear from UHR, but I was the one who initiated the contact.
At this point, my papers can not be resubmitted, because I filed Chapter 13 to save my property because the servicer was moving forward with foreclosure plans. I am due a full refund of $1, 595. I could not care less who is responsible for what at UHR. The Florida BBB/Southeast Region list Wayne Kriesberg as the owner of UHR. If, as you say in one of the previous posts, UHR had hundreds of satisfied clients, then there should be money available to refund the few of us who are overdue.

These guys need to be in the cell next to Madoff! They use the same principle--take from people--use to support their lifestyle--leave you high and dry.
My heart and prayers go out to you Momzor. I feel like you do--a certified check in the mail would stop me. So since it looks like that is not going to happen, I am moving along with filing my complaints with the proper authorities.
I wonder if Wayne and the others have lost their homes and/or jobs the way many others have. I wonder if they have consciences that make them think about how people trusted them with their most valuable asset--their homes--and how UHR knowingly scammed people and in many cases took them from being late to Chapter 13 or foreclosure and displacement of families. Do they realize or even care that they are part of the problem instead being part of the solution?
They better make sure they wear the best fire repellant outfits at the Time of Reckoning because right now they are headed to Hell with gasoline drawers on.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Back in February 2009 I filled out an online app for a laon modicaification. I was contacted by a guy named PAUL DAMIAMO who said that I would quitifly. Then I was sent via email papers to down load and fill out and then I was told in order to start this process I needed to sent them $1, 200.00 via fax, I did that but never heard anything else. I have tried to call the number but it has been disconnected. I would like all those that have been wronged by this company to email me. I'll tell you one thing. I was approached about getting my mortgage modified by this company. After reading these posts, I wouldn't do business with you to save my worst enemies home let alone my own. I understand you may have had some issues with certain employees in your company but to call any customer a ###, and to talk down to them the way this idiot has done, is totally unacceptable. If I had money being held by this three ring circus, I would go straight to the attorney general and file what needs to be filed then maybe this ### will get his act straight. I am glad that my wife did some research on this company before we did any more with them. There is absolutely no chance of me or anyone I know doing any kind of business with this company
We were working for Wayne for about a month. We are a call center located in Karachi, Pakistan. He told me that he requires telemarketers to dial for him, so we offered our services for about 3 weeks. When we invoiced him for about $5, 600, he stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. I too got scammed by these crooks. Like most of you, they told me not to contact my lender because it would delay the process. Well, when I finally contacted my lender because I could not get a hold of anyone at UHR, my lender said that UHR had never contacted them on my behalf! At that point I becan trying to work with my lender and I am happy to say that my I was able to obtain a loan mod directly through my lender! If it isn't too late for you, then I suggest that you give it a try.
Well after 6 months of hearing nothing from UHR I received a letter last month from them stating that I could re-open my file with them for another $550! As if the original $2200 that I paid them for absolutely nothing was not enough. If they have moved, did they change their name? Does anyone know what the new name is? Are new people running this joint? I hope the people in Oregon have an honest experience with them, because they got over on the East Coast. I am not aware of ANYONE getting their money back from these crooks under the name of UNITED HOUSING RELIEF. This has truly been a learning experience for me. I don't EVER intend to seek help for anything of a financial nature via the web. There are too many dishonest people who don't care about anything other than taking advantage of people who truly need help.
Don't believe the hype that they are finishing the mods they still have. They haven't contacted me about mine yet and I would be willing to bet that there are many others who haven't been contacted. How do we go about bringing a class action suit against these creeps? That really needs to be done.
These guys moved to Oregon. They closed their office 6 months ago. I do know that they are finishing the mods that they still have.
I realize that I am late to this discussion. My husband and I were also scammed by Paul, DaniAnn and Tina. Same tactics, I won't bore you with details but we are out 2 grand +, we have asked for our money back and so far no check. It scares me to think where all of that personal info ended up that everyone sent in, in an abandon office or in the car of Paul and /or Tina? Not that it matters because our credit is trashed anyway due to the house. UHR actually told us NOT to call Countrywide/BofA because it would lenghten the process. When I did call, they had never heard of UHR. We wasted three months of valuable time thinking they were working on our modification, when in reality they were doing nothing. I have now been trying to do it on my own and it is a painful and confusing process, the reason we needed help in the first place! Try working 60+ hour weeks and trying to make phone calls to the lender while doing a good job so you don't lose it. Not easy.

I am not a client or ex employee of these people but I worked in an office that was in the same complex as them for 4 years. At the time I was there they were a company that got mortgages for people. They were involved in getting all of those adjustable rate loans that screwed so many people. Since I have not worked there in a while it appears they changed their tactics and now want to screw the same people they screwed the first time with crappy loans and take a second helping to "fix" the bad loans they sold them in the first place. All of the people in that office were shady individuals and I can remember numerous times while taking a smoke break over hearing them talk about how they had landed more deals that they new were illegal and faked income or other items to qualify them for a loan. They were more interested on planning their next night out or how to scam more people to pay for their $80, 000 dollar cars they were driving. After reading the responses from the company on this site you would have to be crazy to do business with them. No reputable company would ever post replies as they have.
I called yesterday and spoke with Jennifer. I told her that I had to declare bankruptcy to save my home because UHR could not work out modification term with my mortgage compoany and I wanted to know when I could expect a refund. She took my number and said she would pull my file and call me back yesterday. I am writing this because I have not heard from her. Why?
To remove postings, which I have done already...you contact the editor...paste the posting that needs to removed as well as the url. We are providing help to all of the clients that are allowing us to do so. I can post a list of happy clients with sucessful loan mods which will be a hell of a lot longer list than those on this message board who are unhappy with our service. And like I said before, we will re do every loan mod for free for people who were not happy with the first try. I really do not know what else I can do. At this point, I am not making a deal with you, you remove your posts and that will be then end of this issue, if you are a client and want us to try and help you with your modification, than we can do that as well.
I have been warned. Thank you. Once you have my information, which, for the record, is probably still sitting in the abandoned office in Coral Springs, what will you do with it? Hopefully more than what you did with it the first time which was absolutely nothing. At least this time I won't have to pay anything.
Please don't say I am not a client when it is apparent that you don't know who I am. My house is gone and you are not making good on your refund policy, with those 2 options gone what am I to do?

Hello, my name is Karen and have also been sucked into this battle. I was cold called by John Avito, then after being pre-approved I did also send in 1595.00. I received I know of 2 calls fromTina, who was very disrespectful to me. My husband and I questioned their credit worthyness and she did do a 3 way call with myself and my lender. So naturally I felt little more confident. Then a few weeks go by and we call and where once a person answered the phone it was a recording. So ok, it's the day before good friday and we call and leave a message that if someone doesn't call us we are filling a complaint with BBS. Well John calls us right away. Then we get christie. She explains that Tina left the company and left them in a mess and she was trying to clean it up. That we had received loan mod documents from our lender and we needed to send them to her like NOW> So we did and have never heard anything from her since. Going on 2 months. We tried calling and then only got a ringing phone, not even a recording. I tried to call today and got "this is no longer a working number" I have kept every shred of paperwork and everything I had concerning this. I also pulled up the BBS site before dealing with this co, had a good feeling. I questioned John about the B rating also and he told me it was because of guy who complained but he was refunded his money but because a complaint was filled, it gave them a B. I have now dealt with both of my lenders. I have a 1st and 2 nd mort which they said they would cut in half. I am in really bad financial situation and this just really pulled the rug out from under me. I have a handicap child and 2 other children and this was an extreme amount of money for my family. I am a christian and will refrain from harsh words and just pray for these people. If a class action suit is to be done, please please please contact me. I will keep this site as one of my favs so I can montior. I am fearful to put my personal info on here with good reason., I have already been ripped off I don't need anything else. I do know this coming week we will file a complaint at the attorney general's office. If infact this man Wayne was an investor and living in a big house, feel the pain and come down where we are and live in a 1 bedroom apartment, sell your house and pay us back something. I had the same thing happened to me I paid him $1995.00 he told me that they had an attorney by the name of Daniel H Fox who would take care of it. He did nothing for me. I file a complaint with the attorney general against Damiano and Fox and if you have also been a victim too file one. The more complaints they get the better it will be to file charges against him. jev

You mean to tell me that his office phone, his home phone and his home phones are all having technical difficulties to the point he can't let people that trusted him and gave him thousands of dollars each a simple phone call to let them know what is going on?
Wayne is off and running with our money. He has quite a few judgements out there for a lot more money than what we are asking for. I doubt any letter from the FTC is going to have him writing us checks.

Wayne didnt even make any money. The money that he bucked from everyone he had to pay out in rent and that stupid ### kristie. He ended up ###ing himself over. I am sure Madoff had some pretty decent attorneys also. Eventually you run out of luck and everything catches up with you.
I don't even know the number, but it would have to be in the hundreds if not thousands of people Wayne has screwed between his mortgage companies, title companies, loan mod companies and car warrantee companies.
You piss off that many people and eventually things catch up to you. Mind you, I am not condoning violence, but some of us will fight on a little longer than others to see that justice is served. At this point, a simple returned check for the money I paid him will not make me happy. I think I deserve a little additional for the months of frustration.
If nothing else, having one of the best attoneys isnt cheap, so at least we are costing him some of the free money he got anyway.

I think you will be waiting a long time for that return phone call. Their office is cleared out and the phones are turned off. I also signed up with UHR in Feb. I had checked them out with the BBB got good feedback. I called a couple of referances also got good feedback. I then decided to do buisness with UHR. I recieved a call from them last month telling me they where having phone problems and someone would be contacting me when they got the phones fixed. I'm still waiting for that return phone call. If they are trying to help, then they need to contact me.
Wayne should move into the courthouse, he is going to be spending a lot of time there. Wayne can't hide from google!
He is currenly being sued for copyright infringement by AAA (because he decided to borrow their name to sell extended car warrantees) and also being sued for $80, 000+ for non-payment by the extended car warrantee wholesaler he was doing business with.
Best part of these lawsuits is it names his mom as defendants in both cases. So which is it, was his mom in on this scam too or was he tring to use her name to sheild himself from prosecution, which if the case, didn't work too well.

I too have just did a complaint with the BBB. I am very dissatisfied with this company! Every complaint listed is the difficulties I had with this company also. I am inquiring about an Class Action Lawsuit and will post information as soon as I have all details. I can't believe that this people (UHR) would respond to the complaints in such an unprofessional manner. I also believe what goes around comes around! They are prying on the less fortunate and ripping them off for their money without rendering services promised!
I have been dealing with my emotions. My son that died in the Army was born on the 4th of July, with his birthday passing, it was like hearing all over again that he was dead. Just really trying to get through the grief.

I received communication from the Attorney General Economic Crimes Division Randi Shapiro. They are starting their investigation. I still have to notify California's Attorney General, I guess it is illegal here in this state to ask for money for a mod before the work is done.
This is a big criminal thing that has been done. All I wanted was my money back. A certified check in the mail would stop me.
However the treat was to clients posting on this site, it clearly said "THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE POSTING ALSO FILLED OUT APPLICATIONS WITH ALL OF THAT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON IT" I filled out an application and gave all that information to them. Thankfully this threat is in writing on this site and that is a good thing as it will help to prove my case in this criminal matter.

Seriously though, he has taken my and many others money in a time when our lives are already in shambles. Meanwhile a quick check of Broward County public records will reveal he has a mansion in Parkland Florida.
I have no home, I lost my job with GM after 20 years, my wife is terminally ill and I can't even the imagine the stress on my kids. What more could possibly happen to me? What do I need to be worried about? That Wayne may get his feelings hurt? He may send people looking for me? Please, thats laughable.
Not to say he isn't capable, afterall, we aren't dealing with a man of high morals as it is, but with everything that has happened to me and my family over the last 2 years, there is nothing left. My family and I are financially, physically and emotional spent. So if Wayne feels the need to start the scare tactics, as thugs normally do, he is free to do so.
