Please stop buying or using the UberEats they store your credit card details and they will just charge your card without your knowledge and confirmation and you can't do anything about this so please don't give your credit card details to the UBER / UberEats.
I have brought the food using the UberEats app. I found all items price is more than their menu by 1 AED and they charge always 5 AED for delivery also. Even I want to try their app so I brought the food using their app. but the food was not good so I have given the review for the food. Suddenly I got a message saying UberEats charged 10 AED as Tips. They have not taken the confirmation for charging AED 10 as tips. So please don't use the UBEREats.
I just hate UBER EATS, they never take responsability of the mistakes of the restaurants. Lots of times got the wrong food, or incomplete, and the app doesn´t even have a number to call, they do nothing for you.
Simply the worst.
Has anyone else had the experience of UberEats adding an unauthorized tip to your debit card?
I always tip in cash. Two times in a row now, about an hour or so after ordering food delivery through the app, I receive an email from UberEats that says “Thanks for tipping!” They are calling it an updated receipt. The updated receipt shows where they have added a tip to your final receipt. The first time, they added $10.49, the second time $3.17.
After 2 emails, they reimbursed the unauthorized tip amount after the first incident. I’m still awaiting response on the 2nd Incident.
Yes! This happened to me! I just saw the email. I tipped my driver in cash the other night. I just saw the charges in my account. So I went looking for the receipt. I found the tip charge in a second email as well as a second bank notification.
This just happened to me last night (1/26/22). An hour after my food was delivered, an updated receipt was emailed thanking me for my tip. I tipped the driver in cash and DID NOT authorize an additional tip amount added to my credit card. After a 20 minute "chat" with an agent (they cannot be contacted by phone, apparently), I was informed that I should await an email from a "specialist" that would arrive in a few hours. Still waiting. In the meantime, I called my credit card company to report this unauthorized charge. They can dispute it once the charge is no longer pending, but I had them put a note about it in my file so that there is a record when I call back. After reading others experiences, I will not use Uber Eats again. This is a fraudulent practice. I may look into contacting the Department of Consumer Affairs, if this is the right agency for reporting retail fraud. Has anyone taken their incident up the chain to report?
Same problem. After tipping in cash an unauthorized charge for tipping appeared on the bill ($9.61 for a $42 meal). The message center on UberEats only allowed for chatting. After waiting twenty minutes to chat the Chat Support Team member appeared and did not respond after several minutes. I asked him/her if they were still there and they ended the chat. I will dispute the entire charge when it appears on my credit card and NEVER use UberEats again. Be warned.
