I made a fully refundable down payment of $5000 for surgical equipments to The Compliance Doctor (Troy Lair, President) in August 2009. Because the project failed to materialize, I requested a refund on October 16th, 2009. Troy Lair affirmed the request and informed me that he will process the refund as quickly as possible. It is now Jan 1st, 2010 and I still have not received my refund. Mr. Lair failed to respond for weeks at a time, claiming that the "real" owner of the equipments (an ENT surgeon with terminal illness, allegedly) was out of the country, and then his own prolonged sickness with a flu prevented him from working. Based on his last email correspondence, he claimed that he had my money, and even requested that I instruct him on how I wanted the refund processed (which I have instructed him numerously in the past). Nevertheless, that was over a month ago, and I still not received my money yet. Incredibly, his "mother" emailed me asking me to stop my contacts with her son, Troy, as his health was in compromise, and that if I can find it within my heart to give him a break - needless to say, I was speechless. But that was weeks ago as well, and since then despite numerous attempts, I have not heard from Mr. Lair again. Ironically, I see that Mr. Lair has been busy online promoting his company and services on various blog sites - supposedly during the same period that his health was so sick that he required hospitalization. Needless to say, Troy Lair is not accountable and responsible, and I would warn everyone to think twice about utilizing his services (medical devices, surgery center accreditations). His company is based in Los Angeles, and on his website, it only lists his personal cell phone number as the contact number for his company. I am pursuing legal means to get my money back. Don't make the same mistake I did - avoid his services. While I can not speak about his other customers and their experiences, my experience with his company and his lack of accountability has been horrendous and quite frustrating. Even more so because he never denied my right to a refund = but he simply will not process it.
This Dr. Christopher Chung updating and retracting my original complaint against Mr. Troy Lair (The Compliance Doctor). My original statements were prematurely based on incorrect information. Knowing what I know now, I have incorrectly jumped to conclusions about Mr. Lair and his services. Mr. Lair has provided indispensable expertise in a most generous fashion to assist with my surgical and accreditation needs. I wished I had waited further and not had made premature statements, but at this time, am fully retracting my prior complaints. Instead, I am whole-heartedly endorsing Mr. Lair and his company, The Compliance Doctor. I have personally extended my gratitude to Mr. Lair for his excellent and generous assistance with my needs. Thanks Troy.

The team made of each members of this company are all very bright, and full of passion and full dedication towards their work. It was and been a pleasure doing business with them and will be looking forward to be again with them in the future.
Troy Lair is a thief and liar. He ripped me off for a $2500 watch and avoided me for years. When I caught up with him, he claimed that a daily member had stolen his identity and promised to make me whole. After more than a year of broken promises, claims that he had the funds, and that the check was in the mail, I have seen NOTHING. I wouldn't trust Troy with your business!
The Compliance Doctor did it again! This is his third cancellation on us in 30 days. Not calling us but did it by text agian. He was suppose to come in yesterday and texted today saying he wasnt going to be here because he is angry at me for reporting him to the BBB. The reason I wrote the last complaint is because he never called or showed the second scheduled week long visit. One visit maybe but 2 no way. You can imagine how many things that have to be set up for a week long visit. The worst part is he never called we were just all waiting in morning for him to show when he knew the night before he wast coming. Later that afternoon he did text us and say he missed his trip. What happened to contacting us after the trip was missed the day before? Watch out for him. We spoke on the phone with him many times before money changed hands. The Compliance Doctor is a scam! Be Aware! My name is Daniel Jimenez from Tampa Florida and we hired Troy Lair to consult on starting our Durable Medical Equipment Company. He requires you to wire $4500.00 so he can book a week to get our business started. Since he has recieved our money we havent spoke to him on the phone since. We scheduled the training date 2 weeks ago and he backed out on us the night before then he rescheduled via email again and we never heard from him again.
