TED's Electronics Unfair Refund Policy: My Experience with TED's Electronics

I recently made a purchase from TED's Electronics (thetedstore.com) and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. I ordered a Nikon d5600 camera package as a Christmas gift for a family member on 11/29/19 for $663.38 through the Google Marketplace. The order arrived on 12/10/19, but to my dismay, I realized that I had ordered the wrong camera.

Although the shipping box was opened upon receipt, none of the individual package contents were opened or removed from the box. The camera was not touched. I immediately contacted TED's Electronics to initiate a return and was informed that I had until 12/16/19 to return the item. I returned the camera within the advertised return date, and the original shipping carton was resealed and sent back to the store.

However, to my surprise, TED's Electronics refunded only half of the purchase price ($331.69), claiming that the "item was received in deep abused condition." I was shocked and confused as to how this could be possible since the camera was never even taken out of the box. I reached out to the Google Marketplace for assistance, but after numerous communications, I was told that they could not override the seller's decision.

After doing some research, I discovered that I am not alone in being treated this way by TED's Electronics. It is disappointing to see a company treat its customers in such a manner, especially during the holiday season. I strongly advise against purchasing from TED's Electronics or through the Google Marketplace. It is important to be cautious when making online purchases and to research the seller before making a purchase.

TED's Electronics Disappointing Experience with TED's Electronics: Canon DSLR Arrived in Wrong Box and Poor Customer Service

I recently purchased a Canon DSLR from TED's Electronics and was quite disappointed with my experience. Firstly, the camera arrived in a box that was meant for a different model, with the security seal already broken. To make matters worse, there was no manual included, only a quick guide pamphlet in Spanish. Upon further inspection, I realized that the box itself was also in Spanish ONLY and the camera was set to Spanish language. It made me wonder if this camera was intended for the Mexican market, as another buyer had mentioned.

However, what really upset me was the way TED's Electronics handled my email inquiries. Their responses seemed to be either automated or copy-pasted generic replies. I received the same reply four times, despite sending four different emails. According to their response, the security seal was broken due to random spot checks at their warehouse. But I find this hard to believe. Why would they need to "spot check" their electronics if everything was being handled properly? It seems more likely that they are moving things around between boxes and mishandling cameras and accessories, resulting in mix-ups and damage.

Overall, I would caution anyone considering purchasing electronics from TED's Electronics, especially if you see "electronics" in connection to NYC. In my experience, they are not honest and do business in unsavory ways. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to using my new camera, but now I'm left feeling disappointed and frustrated.

TED's Electronics Ted's Electronics: Dishonest and Terrible Customer Service

I recently had a bad experience with Ted's Electronics, and I feel like I need to share it with others. I purchased a camera from them through Walmart, and even though they claimed it was "Brand New," the product was actually open-boxed. To make matters worse, the warranty card and other instructions were missing, which means that the product was not new as described.

When I tried to return the camera, Ted's Electronics charged me a whopping $108.32 restocking fee. I was shocked and frustrated, and when I tried to explain my situation to their customer service team, they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They refused to listen to my case and told me that the restocking fee was non-negotiable. They even tried to scam me by saying that they could charge me 60% if they wanted to!

I asked to speak with a manager, but they transferred me to a voicemail and never returned my call. I was extremely disappointed with their terrible customer service, and I couldn't believe that a seller would be so dishonest and rude to their customers.

If you're thinking of buying a Canon product from Ted's Electronics, be aware that they are not an authorized dealer. I don't know where they get their products from, but it's clear that they are willing to scam their customers with restocking fees.

Update: Ted's Electronics recently tried to settle the case with me by offering to refund 50% of my restocking fee. They even asked for my appreciation and cooperation, which I found to be a joke. I'm still waiting for them to issue me a full refund, and I don't know when or if they will ever be reasonable about this situation.

Overall, I would not recommend Ted's Electronics to anyone. Their false advertising and terrible customer service make them a scam in my book.

TED's Electronics Buyer Beware: Ted's Electronics (thetedstore.com) - Unethical Practices and Poor Quality Products

So, I was looking for a camera and stumbled upon Ted's Electronics (thetedstore.com). I was a bit skeptical about their prices, so I decided to give them a call to confirm if their discounted offer was legit. The person on the phone told me that they sell their items for less because they don't offer a manufacturer's warranty, but instead, they offer their own warranty. I thought that was fair enough, so I went ahead and purchased the Nikon D5600 two lens kit over the phone.

However, when I received the package, I was disappointed to find out that it was not the Nikon two lens kit that I ordered. Instead, it was a one lens kit and some off-brand lens that they threw in the box to replace the actual lens that I should have received. I immediately called them to make this known, but to my surprise, the person on the phone told me that I should have specified that that's what I wanted! I mean, come on, they're a camera company, they should have specified that I was not receiving what I ordered! The person on the phone was quite rude and made zero apologies.

To make matters worse, the extra accessories they offered were of poor quality, and the camera box was open and spilled all over the larger box when it arrived. It was clear that they do not package their items safely at all, which means you run the risk of the item breaking in transit and likely being held responsible since this company clearly doesn't believe in doing the right thing.

In conclusion, I would advise you to buy directly from the manufacturer or a reputable retailer. Although Ted's Electronics may offer lower prices, it's not worth the hassle and risk of dealing with an unethical company. Plus, you'll have peace of mind knowing that you're getting what you paid for and that your item is packaged safely.

TED's Electronics Impressed with TED's Electronics Customer Service!

I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with my experience with TED's Electronics. I ordered a Nikon camera bundle and it arrived on time, which was a relief because I was really excited to start using it. But then, about three weeks later, I realized that I was missing one of the lenses that was supposed to come with it. And to make matters worse, I had received two of the same lens instead of one telephoto and one wide angle lens. I was pretty frustrated, but I decided to reach out to their customer service to see if they could help me out.

To my surprise, I received a response from them the very next business day. They apologized for the mistake and told me that they were sending the missing item and the correct lens right away. They even gave me a tracking number so that I could keep an eye on the shipment. I was so relieved that I didn't have to go through a bunch of back and forth with them to get it resolved. And to top it off, they even answered a question I had about an item in the bundle that I didn't recognize.

Honestly, I think that great customer service is the most important thing that a company can have. And in my opinion, TED's Electronics has some of the best customer service that I've ever dealt with. I've had to deal with a lot of different customer service departments over the years, and I don't think I've ever had a company resolve an issue so quickly and without question. I was so impressed that I decided to write this review and tell all of my friends about my experience. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer of TED's Electronics from now on.

TED's Electronics Ted's Electronics Review: Great Sales and Fast Shipping, but Terrible Customer Service

Ted's Electronics is a company that has some good points, but also some major drawbacks. On the positive side, they have great sales and their shipping is super fast. However, their customer service is non-existent, which can be a real problem if you have any issues with your order.

I had a personal experience with Ted's Electronics when I tried to negotiate some changes to a Nikon camera kit that I had ordered. I contacted them three times in writing and once by phone to request some specific items and to eliminate some that I didn't need. I paid the price they asked for, but when I received the package, I found that they had shorted me on two small items - an extra cap keeper and an extra 32gb memory card.

The biggest issue, however, was that I had asked for an upgrade to the VR version of the 70-300 Nikon zoom lens, which I had requested three times in writing and once by phone. I paid their price for the upgrade, but when I received the package, they had only sent me the regular 70-300 lens.

I didn't want to deal with the high shipping costs to return the item, so I offered to keep the lens and sell it locally, then purchase the correct VR lens from Ted's Electronics at their cost. However, they told me that they didn't have any VR lenses in stock. I suggested that they find one at a wholesaler, since they are located in New York, but they didn't seem to be interested in helping me.

Their customer service department was a complete misnomer, as they did nothing to help me resolve the issue. They delayed me for a month, and even if I wanted to, I couldn't return the item via eBay, which was their only proposed solution. I wrote to them again today, demanding that they at least send me the two small items that I had ordered and paid for.

I suspect that they charged me for the VR lens, which is about $85 more than the basic lens, and the best they offered in compensation was an insulting $20 for this and the two shorted items. I suggested that they close their customer service department, as they clearly don't know the meaning of the term.

Overall, I would say that Ted's Electronics is a company that has some good points, but their lack of customer service is a major drawback. If you're looking for a good deal on electronics and don't mind taking a risk, then they might be worth considering. However, if you want to be sure that you'll get what you paid for and have good customer support, then you might want to look elsewhere.

TED's Electronics Unacceptable Service from Ted's Electronics: No US Warranty and Refusal to Repair/Replace Product

Ted's Electronics is a store that I would not recommend to anyone. They do not disclose on their website when a product does not have a US warranty, and if the product fails, they refuse to repair or replace it. This is exactly what happened to me when I ordered an Olympus Tough TG-6 camera from Ted's. The cost was $397.98, and within a month of receiving the camera, it began to occasionally fail to start when I pushed the power button. The problem gradually became more frequent, and by the beginning of November, it would no longer start at all.

I contacted Olympus to inquire about how to get the camera repaired or replaced under warranty, and was told that the camera does not have a US warranty. Olympus told me to direct my complaint to Ted's. I returned the camera to Ted's for repair or replacement, and they received it on December 18, 2019. However, Ted's didn't acknowledge that they had received the camera or tell me whether they were going to repair or replace it, despite a couple of e-mail inquiries I sent them.

Then, on January 30, 2020, I received my camera back in the mail, unrepaired, with a notice from Ted's with a "repair estimate" of $314.99. The notice stated that when Ted's received that amount, they would send me "an equivalent new or factory-refurbished replacement product." In the description of problem symptoms, the notice stated "No internal damage/error. Issue not classified as manufacturer defect. Clear signs of accidental damage. Confirmed by Canon [sic]." However, the camera is in immaculate physical condition and has not been damaged in any way. It just stopped working within a short time after I received it.

So, in conclusion, Ted's sold me a camera for $397.98 without disclosing that the camera did not have a US warranty, and when the camera stopped working within a month or so after I received it, Ted's refused to repair or replace it. This is unacceptable, and I would not recommend anyone to buy anything from Ted's Electronics.

I recently had a very unpleasant experience with TED's Electronics. I purchased a shaver from their website and was very excited to receive it. However, when the package arrived, I immediately noticed that the box was not sealed and had been tampered with. This was a red flag for me, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and opened the box.

To my disappointment, the shaver was clearly used and defective. It was obvious that someone had tried to clean it up, but there were still visible signs of wear and tear. I was very upset and felt like I had been scammed.

When I tried to process a return on their website, I was surprised to find that there was no automatic return process. Instead, I had to email them to get an RMA. This was very inconvenient and time-consuming.

To make matters worse, when I finally received my RMA, I discovered that I would have to pay for the return shipping myself. This was very frustrating, as I felt like I had already wasted enough time and money on this purchase.

To add insult to injury, TED's Electronics also reserves the right to keep 5-15% of your funds when you return an item. This is a very unfair policy, as it penalizes customers for their mistakes.

Overall, I would not recommend buying from TED's Electronics. They are very sneaky and sell refurbished or used parts. They are not truthful about their listings and their return policy is very inconvenient and unfair. Save yourself the trouble and buy from a more reputable seller.

TED's Electronics Disappointing Experience with Ted's Electronics: Canon EOS Rebel Camera Purchase Review

I recently made a purchase from Ted's Electronics and I must say, I was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered a Canon EOS Rebel camera and when it arrived, I noticed that the box seal was already broken. To make matters worse, the product description on the outside of the box was written in Portuguese, which was quite confusing for me. I was expecting an English description, as I live in the United States.

When I opened the box, I found that the camera charger had a type C plug with two round pins, which won't work in U.S. outlets. This was quite frustrating, as I had to go out and purchase an adapter separately. I was also disappointed to find out that the camera was not intended for the U.S. market and may have been previously used. This was not indicated on Ted's website when I made the purchase.

To add insult to injury, I discovered that the camera did not come with a warranty. This was quite concerning, as I wanted to ensure that I was protected in case anything went wrong with the camera. Despite all of these issues, Ted's deducted $16 from my refund to cover a so-called "restocking fee." I was also out $23 for the cost of the return, which was quite frustrating.

Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience with Ted's Electronics. I feel that they did not provide me with the product as described on their website and did not take responsibility for their mistakes. I would not recommend purchasing from this company in the future.

TED's Electronics False Advertising and Poor Customer Service: My Experience with TED's Electronics

I recently made a purchase from TED's Electronics, also known as thetedstore.com, and unfortunately had a negative experience. I feel like I was a victim of false advertising, as they played the bait and switch game with me. They offered me a higher tier product at a competitive price, but then sent me a lesser item without the promised accessories.

Specifically, I ordered a Zoom Microphone that was supposed to come with Zoom Headphones. However, when I received my order, the headphones were missing. When I contacted customer service, they offered me a partial refund of only $12 instead of sending me the missing headphones. This made me feel like the headphones must have cost more than $12, which is not a fair resolution.

If I had not already used the microphone, I would have sent it back for a full refund. However, I did not have the extra time to deal with the hassle of returning the product. I should have done my research before making the purchase, but I needed the setup right away and did not have the luxury of time. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson to always investigate an online store before making a purchase, especially if I am in a hurry.

I wish I had seen their review score before making my purchase, as it would have saved me the trouble and frustration. I was trying to save $20, but in the end, it was not worth it. Lesson reinforced, because I knew better. Shame on me.
