The app is one of my all time favorites. The only problem is that when Carl jumps off the screen (by flicking finger upwards), he flys up halfway and then the rest of his visible body disappears. He then falls back down and flips right side up. Problem with sprite? This gets on my nerves, a fix would make this app even better.
This bug doesn't exist in Talking Carla but has always been in Talking Carl+.

This app is great and my toddler gets a kick out of it...I even have fun with it. When I put the phone in guided access mode to let him play with it, there is a transparent grey overlay that appears over Carl. This disables some of the controls and features within the app. I'd like to see the features and controls continue when in guided access mode. I can provide screenshots to the developer if need be.

I really luv this app. It's my favorite. My dad's friend showed me it and I just found it in the app store because on my iPod I didn't have a microphone and we had no idea how to get one. So for this Christmas I got an iPad 2. Now I am going to get all the "Talking Carl" apps. So far I have: talking Carl,drawing with Carl,Mr Goo,and Carl and gugul. PLEASE GET THIS APP IT IS THE BEST! ❤❤❤❤❤

I am a 60 something grandma and I have more fun sending friends and grandkids personally recorded messages with this goofy Carl. I got it free from App Advice and I’m sure glad I did. Just click on the microphone, say anything, listen to it and send! You can even change it before you send it if you change your mind. The voice doesn’t sound like you it sounds like Carl but it’s easy to understand and very cute

I bought this app and it won't load. I have tried deleting it and reloading it several times and again after the last update. I sent in a report to the developers and heard no reply. I also sent an email and have yet to hear back. You take your chances with this app. Forget any help if there is a problem. It seems that once the developers get your money, they are not interested in helping fix any issues with their product.

I love this app, he talks to you, he sings, He has different themes, and you can poke him, throw him in the air, make him back flip, and he responds to what you say! I give this five stars! This little Carl guy is FUNNY, CUTE, and themed. I don't know who this Carl guy is but he pretty sure is neat! Also if you have a lot of money you get to save it because it's free$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I love this goofy playful little dude. Also, the mean Carl is also funny.

But here’s what I have to say, why is it 99 cents?
I mean, I personally don’t care as I had this game when I was younger and was able to redownload it for free, but I don’t really see many aspects to make it the price it is. This doesn’t make it a bad game, though. Not at all. It’s a cute game and I have many memories of it. The price is peculiar to me, though.

Why does it take so long for this new Plus version to load when you click the app on your phone. It seems like I have to wait 20 seconds while an ad pops up on my screen. I can understand having to see ads when an app is free, but this app is not free.

I never had to see an ad with my original Talking Carl. My child deleted my original app and when I went to iTunes to download it again, I couldn't find the original anywhere...just this Plus version.

Me and my little bro spent HOURS on this app yesterday. When my mom came home from work, we showed her and she loved it too! She says "Carl, you are the handsomest little red man ever! I just wanna poke your little eyes out and roll them across the kitchen floor!", which is a good thing! 

I plan to make a Carl plushie sometime soon for my little brother! We love Carl! PERFECT for the 12 hour car ride to go on vacation!

Some people will not believe me but this happen i downloaded this game couple of days ago and use to like it but i though like lets download this game on both of my iphone when i download it i started to talk to both of the talking carl and they repeated one an the other one repeated later but when i say a sentence both of the talking carl repeated each other getting very strange each other their voices get a bit deeper until they go to static for a couple of minutes is very disturbing some tell me i might be crazy or just faking this but is not

I am still like this, but when I was a kid, I would make so many different crazy sounds: because I could! And that made there be no other app I would rather grab m itouch and get on rather than talking carl! Talking carl is still even at this outdated time, ridiculously hilarious. I recommend you to download it, even if just to say a few things into it every once in a while. I remember sometimes as a kid, I would minic it to the point of turning a word that doesn’t exist (xnopit for example), into a high pitched mess. Such a good app, and I recommend to all.

Hi I like talking Carl but it NEVER sends email FIX IT! Also u need more talking people like gugle or Carla u should make a mum a dad a sister u know. Talking carl has got a little boring maybe before u play the game u can dress up Carl. U need to spice things up!
Maybe u could make talking People besides people carl knows maybe u could make a talking rapunzle and she could have long hair and if u pulled her hair she would get twisted in the hair! Just an idea but pls try some of this advice because if u do I think talking carl will be the most popular game thanks

My cousin showed me this app and I loved it! I had to get it on my iPod touch! I almost couldn't live with out it!

Likes: I like it because it doesn't have adds for other apps at the bottom or top, so you don't accidentally tap them and it takes you to some other page. I also like it because it keeps me busy! I could play it for hours, and hours, and hours! But the batterie would die by that time.

Dislikes: I some times dislike it because my parents are always saying, "Turn that off!" Or "It is so annoying!" But I don't care. I just turn it off and play some other time.

I mostly love this app, so I will rate it with 5 stars!

I’ve had Carl since it came out many years ago… And shared it with all my family who have also downloaded and enjoyed it… Recently however, it was taken away from the apps that are in my text messaging, for easy access, where it was something you could tap on and record quickly and include in your text messages. With the latest version however, that feature is gone… There are stickers in its place with your fine but the fun of Carl is the voice so I am not using it at this point. I have written them but got no response as to how I can go back to the Last version so that I can have that feature again. If anyone out there knows how to do that, I would be so appreciative and would begin to use Carl once again.

This app is ok but I have lots of suggestions:

We should be able to change from night to day
Add some interactive animals or something for Carl like a pet �'
Different costumes and colors we can change Carl into, like a ninja or spy and purple or yellow or rainbow colors would be cool
Carl should be able to go places like a playground he could play at or a house he could watch tv in
Carl needs friends IN the app not in a different app
Carl should have sone different movements he can use while recording so you can make a video not just a voice memo
Minigames to play like a voice game or a singing thing
We should be able to feed Carl something or have him make food 
Also to go along with the color changing and the costumes we should be able to dress Carl up or have a girl Carl called Carly

Other than that it's a good app i would give you five stars but its a little simple right now 

Dear Tayasui & Company,
I love talking carl! He's so cute and funny. He entertains for hours! But maybe add some more features, like:

•Dancing w/ Carl
•singing Carl
•Carl drinking
•feeding carl foods other than a bone
•peeing Carl (LOL!)

And you should be able to teach Carl tricks, by voice and by screen gestures. I know it's a lot to ask for but in future updates that's what I'd like to see. It would bring Carl up to the whole next level! And I know for a fact that a lot of other people would enjoy those new features as well!
So please try and get us some of those new features in the next update. I will change my rating to 5stars if we can have (some) those features next update.
I really love Carl and I think those new features would give him that new edge!

Oh and for people having the white screen bug, yes I had it too when I first launched Talking Carl app, but it's easily fixed by simply re-launching the app.
(Re launching usually means going out of The app and then opening it again. In some Cases if that does not work, try closing out of the app, open the background tasks bar by pressing the home button twice quickly, and delete it from there. Then re launch carl.)

My kids love this app, but after the latest update "Carl" now randomly says rude and insulting phrases that are completely inappropriate for children.

I am completely disappointed in this developer and will no longer use or purchase any of their apps. Absolutely inexcusable.

I think you should really combine some apps and make one big app because I spend a dollar on ur stupid apps that say they do things that I have to buy in 10 more apps, and all Carl does is play the horn! It's such a waste money and is really stupid. It's almost identical to the first one also.

This app used to be great..now there are ridiculously long ads at the start of the app that I PAID for TWICE, carls reaction time is so slow that my kid just gets bored and exits out of the app, idk I(and he) loved it before but now it's lame..would not recommend... that other one with the cat is better now :/

When talking at any volume, the app doesn’t record the entire sentence. Usually misses the last 2-3 words completely. And then talks so fast that you can hardly understand it. My 4 year old thought it was super funny, until he started getting frustrated that it just doesn’t work as well as you’d think it should.

My iPod is a 3rd generation. Talking Carl is a cute game but I cannot record ANYTHING. It is very annoying I just wasted 99 cents. I have no idea how to get a microphone headset, and in the description it does NOT tell you that you need a microphone or that it only works on smart phones or iPads. This app is very frustrating!

This WAS a fun app for kids until the awful addition of Grumpy Carl.

I don't know who thought Grumpy Carl might be a good idea, but they could not have been more wrong.

An app geared towards kids should not be calling them donkeys, or telling them to "shut-up," especially after the child just learned to say, "I love you."

I want my 99 cents back...

Certainly my experience with the app is difficult to say the least. It lags A LOT when ever you leave the app Carl yells good by very weird it is still in my mind and haunts me. Everything it does, it acts like it has problems it is weird. Please you will not be satisfied, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP.

We started out enjoying the app until we entered Grumpy Carl mode. While in this mode...which you cannot block...Carl begins to talk mean and nasty saying things like "shut up" etc... This is unacceptable in a child app. If we are trying to teach our children to be kind towards others we need to be teaching them kind words not train them to be bullies.

I picked this app up for my speech delayed child. It was recommended on several sites to encourage speech. But Grumpy Carl has to go! I refuse to allow my 4 and 2 year old to learn to say "Shut up" and the like. So we told them no Grumpy Carl. Now my 4 year old is saying things like "We don't like Black Carl"... oh dear god... I want my money back.

I don’t know what happened here. I e had this app for years and no problems. I had my husband download it today. And suddenly he says... shut your donkey mouth, shut up, you nitwit, get outta here, etc.
This is awful! My husband deleted it and I’m deleting mine now as well. What are they thinking to have an app for a toddler that says mean, inappropriate things?

I bought this app about 6 months ago and am downloading it again. What do you know I get an invoice for the second time on this app. What gives? BUYERS BEWARE...I have been charged twice for the same app. What because you put a plus sign at the end of your app it is now different. You need to warn people you are charging them twice. SO LAME I AM PISSED OFF!

A recent update has added inappropriate comments that Carl blurts out randomly. These include: "Shut Up," "[censored]," "Shut Your Face." I think there are others, but that's enough. The words are not quite pronounced clearly, but clear enough so that a child copying Carl sounds like they're "trying" to say "shut up." Not acceptable. Carl was my daughter's best friend, now he's been deleted.

My rating has gone WAY down! I never play with Carl anymore now that i STILL cannot record and send messages to potential Carl lovers! Grrrr! /-:

Developers! Get on it! Youre missing out on your most valuable feature! FIX IT PLEASE!

This app isn't worth it. You don't really do anything I mean the poking and stuff are fun but the "talking" part isn't so "hilarious". It's a little funny, but it's not worth it. It should be less then free. They should GIVE YOU money to get this. It might be worth it if you could walk it or dress it but with the few and the not so entertaining things it has, don't bother wasting space and getting this.

This game did not work well and is not worth spending any money on. My children disliked the game and the repeating did not work.
