Unathorized repairs and billed for $2222.50. Current repair cost $3049.95 from another company. They don't return calls or emails. Solar system installed Jan 2018. Salesman said they'd monitor and contact me if something went wrong. That didn't happen. I contacted them in late July because the system wasn't working properly and was mostly inactive that month. After multiple visits, they blamed squirrel damage, which wasn't covered by warranty. I asked why they didn't install a "critter guard" during installation, but they had no answer. I asked for a quote, but they said their installers were busy with new projects and it would take time. They never got back to me, and the solar system started working in Oct 2018. In Aug 2019, I received a bill for $2222.50 after the system failed again and I contacted them. They refused to examine the system until I paid. I asked to see the quote and who authorized the repairs, but got no response. No further contact. I reached out to a different solar company, and they said the repairs would cost $3049.95 for the exact same work Tac Solar supposedly did. I've had this solar system for two years and three months, and it only worked correctly for thirteen months. Tac Solar won't honor their work or promises, even though the system came with a 20-year warranty.

Not Eligible for CPS Energy $2500 Rebate. Solar system not wired correctly, can't monitor remotely on app. TAC Solar and AC sold me a solar system in Sept and Oct 2019. Jesse Ostler from TAC helped me choose a solar system with 31 Piemar panels, totaling 9.765 kw for $25,389. I was supposed to get a 30% federal tax credit ($7616.70) and a $2500 CPS rebate if the system was installed in 2019. The system was finally installed on Dec 26/27th, 2019 by GridTek Energy, but it wasn't turned on. TAC hired GridTek, but they weren't approved by CPS, so I couldn't get the $2500 rebate. GridTek didn't get approval from CPS before installing the system at my house. I tried contacting TAC and GridTek multiple times to get my system running and the CPS rebate, but they didn't respond to my calls and texts. On Feb 21st, 2020, I contacted CPS to check if they had my installation documentation for the rebate. CPS said they didn't have any records. CPS contacted TAC to get the necessary paperwork. CPS then contacted Solar Electric Texas, an approved installer, to inspect the system for CPS compliance. A Solar Texas Electric representative came in early March to inspect the system and found that the wiring didn't meet CPS standards. On April 8th, a master electrician from STE inspected the wiring and discussed options to meet CPS requirements. On April 10th, another STE master electrician rewired most of the electrical boxes, but still needs to add a breaker in the main panel. Once that's done, CPS needs to commission the system for it to work. Additionally, GridTek couldn't get the Enphase monitor system to work on my phone, so I can't see the solar panel output. It's been 4 months without a functioning solar system, and I've already made 2 payments totaling $211.16 for the solar panel loan. Thanks, ***.
