June 29, 2023 at approximately 3 pm I was motioned by an employee onto the conveyer of the Super Star Car Wash at 1350 South Melrose Drive Vista. I put my car in neutral as instructed and allowed the conveyer to pull my car into the wash. At that point my windshield was covered with foam restricting my visibility to zero feet. A few minutes later I felt my car hit the pickup truck in front of me. I cleared the windshield of foam and saw an attendant had stopped the wash and was talking with the driver in front of me, whose brake lights were on. Upon exiting the wash the driver in front of me drove away. I pulled around to the side of the wash and informed the manager my car had sustained damage and that I suspected the driver in front of me braked causing the accident. I filed an incident report with the wash indicating this, and the manager dissuaded me from calling the police to file a report. The manager informed me that video indicated it was in fact a MALFUNCTION of the car wash and that a roller had held the pickup back while the conveyer dragged me into the rear of the pickup. He indicated corporate would be in touch. June 30 I received an email from Stephanie M. of Super Star Car Wash informing me they would investigate (claim 149658) and a decision would be forthcoming. I thanked her for her prompt response. Also on June 30, I went back to the wash to take a picture of the incident report because I had neglected to do so. The manager again was very up front, saying it was a malfunction and corporate would take care of the damage. Ms. M. from Super Star Car Wash emailed me once a week saying a "decision" would be forthcoming. Each time I asked her not to destroy the video evidence of the accident. I also received a preliminary verbal estimate to repair the damage of at least $2,500. July 24, I emailed Ms. Maldonado that I would be moving ahead with formal steps to get Super Star Car Wash to take responsibility so I can begin repairing my vehicle. I gave her two weeks to respond. No response so I filed a claim with my insurance company who repaired the vehicle at a total cost of $3,800, with a $500 deductible which I had to pay. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which finally triggered an email from Ms. M, requesting I obtain three estimates within one week, with the caveat that they had not yet assumed liability. Obviously, their tactics are to delay and frustrate, and have no intention of taking responsibility or paying for the damages. My insurance company will subrogate for me in this matter. However, I would like Super Star Car Wash to send Mr a cashier's check to cover the $500 deductible. This is more than fair considering I am not seeking compensation for the rental car I needed during repairs.

Desired outcome: Please send me a cashier's check for $500 to cover the deductible I paid to get my car repaired.I would like to warn other consumers about the immoral business practices of Super Star Car Wash
