Paid north of £13, 000 for what was meant to be 'bespoke, floor-to-ceiling L-shaped book cases to fit over-sized and standard books' for our Library. Installed book cases can not accommodate standard books due to positioning of pre-drilled holes. Vendor claimed that requirement for 'standard books' was never communicated (yet was unable to explain which book size they designed cabinets for) and offered a 50% discount on 'a new book case'. In the meantime, supplied bookshelves have started to warp (one year in), locks on glass doors started to fall out (mismatched diameters of lock holes and locks themselves), and dust is accumulating on books and shelves as glass doors do not fit tight enough... Currently in dispute - avoid, especially given price levels.
We had the same problem. The salesperson and consequent conversation with the Strachan confirmed we would have 'CUSTOM' fitted wardrobes. We have a sloping ceiling and had been pointed out and shown the ceiling to the salesperson as well as to the person who came to do the measurements. When it came to the fitting, the wardrobes came short of being 'fitted' wall to ceiling and also there is a massive gap between the sloping ceiling and the wardrobe. Paid a lot of money but Strachan did not do anything. Numerous phones calls but to no avail. Definitely would not recommend them as they DO NOT COMPLY with their statement - CUSTOM MADE WARDROBES TO CUSTOMER'S SPECIFICATIONS.
