The impression making form that goes ion your mouth is a hard plastic form that is painful to use and made my mouth sore for days after. It didn't fit my mouth and because of that, I couldn't get a good impression. After four attempts, I gave up and got most of my money back. Customer service seems okay to deal with but it also takes a month to get your retainers. I had to send mine back because they fit terribly and wouldn't fit flush against my back teeth. I was told by their customer service that that was common to have a bad fit on the molars and that I may have to cut the back part of the retainer off. Seriously?! Also, I was to get two upper retainers made from the more expensive and stronger material Essex plus but only one of the two was made from that material, the other was thin and flexible and not what I paid extra for.

I just gotta say, I got me some guards from Sporting Smiles and they're the real deal. I got two of 'em - the Dual Laminate Teeth Grinding Day Guard and the Flexible Super Hard Night Guard (Back Cut). I was mainly using the Dual Laminate one, but I was grinding so hard that I ended up separating the layers. But hey, it was still usable, I just had to nest the layers together before putting it on. Then, one day, my guard went missing (probably my dog's doing) so I started using the back cut one and let me tell ya, I like that one so much more. It feels more hardy, like it can take a beating. So, I went ahead and reordered that one.

Now, let me tell you about the process of making your own impressions. It wasn't easy, I'll admit that. I originally wanted bottom guards, but I had a hard time getting the impression right. But the team at Sporting Smiles was so helpful and kind, they even sent me extra putty when my first couple tries were flops. In the end, I switched to a top guard because that was easier for me to do. But hey, that's just me.

They don't click to the teeth or stay in place at all. I verified that my entire tooth impression was in the mold with gumline, but still, no luck. I sent a complaint with photos a week ago, but I haven't heard anything back. I'm 100% dissatisfied with the quality and communication!

And then they told me they only had the lower impression because my name was in their database under two different spellings. That doesn't make any sense to me. I also asked for an extension on making a new impression because I injured my tooth, but they didn't respond. And when I asked for a total refund, they didn't respond either. It's like they're purposely giving me non-answers. I've been a long-time customer and I've never had this kind of problem before. I can only assume they sold to new owners or something. Either way, I wouldn't recommend using this company anymore. They're just horrible.
