Speedtest Unreliable Speed Test: Why You Should Try Speedof.me Instead

This speed test is kinda weird, ya know? It only shows the max speed ya get during the test, not the average speed ya get. That ain't cool, man. Sometimes, my average speed during the test is like 30-40, but then at the last second or two, it jumps up to 90-100 and that's what it shows as the final speed. That ain't the real picture of my internet speeds, ya feel me? This test needs to be changed so it shows the average speed or else it's just a waste of time.

But, lemme tell ya about this other test called Speedof.me. It does an average of several quick tests and that's a much more accurate and honest picture of what to expect from your ISP. So, if ya wanna know the real deal about your internet speeds, go with Speedof.me instead of this one.

Speedtest Disappointing Changes to OOkla's Speedtest App: A Review

Speedtest from OOkla used to be a real good place to get the scoop on your internet speed, but it looks like they've gone and hired some newfangled programmers who think they know better, and they've gone and ruined the once "good" app. I've been using CLI for 4 years now and as of 21 Sept. 2020 it ain't worth a hill of beans. The pings for server selection are all screwy, with results coming in from servers tens of thousands of miles away, and the latency speeds are better from servers on the other side of the planet. It don't make no sense at all. It's a real shame, 'cause I was hoping to use it to prove my internet speed to my provider, but now I gotta find something else.

Speedtest Speedtest.net Review: Is It Worth Checking Out for Internet Speed Issues?

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the results I was getting from other speed testing sites. I mean, come on, I'm paying good money for my internet and it was just not living up to my expectations. So, I decided to call up Comcast and give them a piece of my mind. They told me to try out speedtest.net and see if that gave me any better results.

Now, when I first got on the site, I noticed that it was testing at a local Comcast site. I mean, that makes sense, right? You want to test your internet speed on a site that's close to your location. But when I asked the guy on the phone if this was a Comcast site, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I mean, come on, dude, don't play dumb with me.

Anyway, he checked my connection and told me that everything was in order and that I should be getting 20mb d/l and 5mb u/l. But the other sites were telling me that I was only getting about 5mb d/l and 4mb u/l. So, I was pretty skeptical when I tried out speedtest.net.

But, lo and behold, the results were actually pretty good. According to speedtest.net, I was blazing along at 21.82kbps d/l and 3962kbps u/l. Now, I don't know about you, but that seems like a pretty big difference to me.

All in all, I would say that speedtest.net is definitely worth checking out if you're having issues with your internet speed. But, at the same time, I would also say to be a little bit skeptical of the results. I mean, who knows what kind of shenanigans are going on behind the scenes. So, just be aware and take the results with a grain of salt.

Speedtest Is Speedtest.net a Scam? My Personal Experience with Internet Speed Tests

I was reading some reviews about Speedtest and I saw some people saying that it's not fair or that it's a scam. So, I decided to run some tests myself. I ran around 15 speedtests on 5 different sites, not including speedtest.net. And guess what? All of them gave me almost the same results, with a difference of only 10 Mbps, which is normal. On average, I got 60 Mbps download and 5.70 upload.

But, let me tell you something. If you want to get accurate results, you should run the test with a wired (ethernet) connection, not over wifi. Wifi can cause a lot of variation in the results, so it's better to avoid it.

If you don't believe me or you don't trust speedtest.net, you can always run your own tests. It's easy and it doesn't take much time. Just make sure you have a wired connection and you're good to go.

One thing that caught my attention was that AT&T, one of the sites I tested, gave me almost the same results as speedtest.net. And you know what? They have no financial interest in fudging my data upward. If anything, they would fudge it downward to try and convince me to leave my ISP. But they didn't. So, I think that says a lot about the accuracy of speedtest.net.

Overall, I think speedtest.net is a great tool to test your internet speed. It's easy to use and it gives you accurate results. Just make sure you're using a wired connection and you'll be fine.

Speedtest Speedtest Review: Quick, Easy, and Accurate Internet Speed Testing

So, I just tried out Speedtest and I gotta say, it's pretty cool. I wanted to see how fast my internet was running and this website did the trick. All I had to do was go to the website and click the big "GO" button. It took a few seconds to load and then it showed me my download and upload speeds. I was pretty impressed with how fast my internet was running, to be honest.

The website itself is pretty easy to use. There are no confusing menus or anything like that. It's just a simple page with a big button that says "GO". Once you click that button, it does all the work for you. It's definitely a lot easier than trying to figure out how to test your internet speed on your own.

One thing I did notice is that the website does have some ads on it. They're not too annoying, but they are there. I guess that's how they make money, though. It's not a big deal, really.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Speedtest to anyone who wants to check their internet speed. It's quick, easy, and accurate. Plus, it's free! So, if you're curious about how fast your internet is running, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

P.S. Sorry for any spelling or grammar errors. I'm not the best at that stuff.

Speedtest Speedtest App Review: Beware of Privacy Policy Changes and Data Selling

So, I gotta tell ya, when I first got the Speedtest app, I was stoked! I mean, who doesn't wanna know how fast their internet is, right? But then, outta nowhere, they go and change their Privacy Policy to basically say they're gonna take ALL the info they can get their grubby little hands on from your computer when you use the app. And then, to top it all off, they go and sell that info to whoever wants it! I mean, seriously, it's like they're a bunch of hackers or somethin'! And get this, their parent company, Ziff Davis, is like the WORST when it comes to keepin' your info safe. I mean, come on, can't a guy just use an app without worryin' about his personal info gettin' stolen? I even tried to talk to their lawyers about it, but all they said was that if I didn't want my info taken, I shouldn't use the app. Like, what kinda answer is that?! So, I'm just sayin', if you're thinkin' about gettin' the Speedtest app, you might wanna think twice. Cuz, let's face it, ain't nobody wantin' their personal info sold to the highest bidder.

Speedtest Web Page Tester vs. Windows 10 App: Inconsistent Results and Privacy Concerns

I done a comparison between the web page tester and the Windows 10 app. I rated both of them out of 10. The web page tester got a 9, which is acceptable, but there's no way to report any issues. The Windows 10 app, on the other hand, got a 1, which is terrible. The test results are very inconsistent, and there's no way to report any issues or get any help about it.

When I clicked GO several times in the Windows 10 app, I got a high variation in results. The download speed ranged from 10 to 138mbs, and the upload speed ranged from 14 to 18mbs. That's a huge difference! On the other hand, the web page tester provided me with expected results. The download speed ranged from 100 to 150mbs, and the upload speed ranged from 11 to 13mbs.

I think the person who implemented the Windows 10 app doesn't know much about handling network events and measuring throughput. That's probably why the results are so inconsistent. I rate the Windows 10 app as extremely poor. It needs to be tested before it's distributed. If it's going to be a network distributed application, it must have a Help About section with the software version and provider, as well as any legal notices. This is especially important if there are any privacy considerations.

I've uninstalled the Windows 10 app because I'm afraid of privacy violations. It's just not worth the risk.

Speedtest Review: Speedtest.net - A User-Friendly Website for Testing Internet Speeds

Speedtest.net is a website that offers a simple and easy way to test your internet speed. The interface is very pretty and user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to use. The website automatically locates a suitable server near you, so you don't have to worry about choosing one yourself. It's smart enough to figure out where you are, which is a great feature.

The website runs a ping, download speed, and upload speed test. You can use the same test, at the same site, anywhere in the world. This is a great feature because you can compare your internet speed with other countries. It's interesting to see that even in the backwoods of eastern Europe, they get better DSL speeds than in the cutting edge of web technology in the SF bay area.

I'm on a 6Mbit connection in the SF bay area with SBC Global, which is now AT&T but powered by Yahoo!. My result was 5.15Mbit, which is not too shabby and actually not as bad as I'd expected. My upload speed was 630k, which is around 100k below optimal. Ping speed was recorded as 17ms. Over at speakeasy.net, where I usually run this test, the result was exactly the same. Though the interface at speedtest.net is slicker, the speakeasy interface is clearer and less fussy.

The most interesting feature of speedtest.net is that you can select any destination in the world to run your speed test to and from. In other words, you can pick, say, Ekaterinburg in Russia (ping 266ms) and run the test from California to there and back. This is very, very cool and my rating went up a point straight away. If you have any geek cred at all, you'll be playing with this one for a while.

Overall, speedtest.net is a great website to test your internet speed. It's easy to use, has a pretty interface, and offers a unique feature of testing your speed to and from any destination in the world. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to test their internet speed.

Speedtest Review: Testing Internet Speed with Speedtest.net and DOS Commands

Speedtest.net is a website that tests your internet speed. I have AT&T and they always tell me to use Speedtest.net and "See your ping is fine." But these same techs DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT WHEN I SHOW THEM MY TRAPS! So, I decided to test it out myself.

Speedtest.net reported this:
28ms ping - This is how long it takes 1 packet of information to go from my computer to that server. 1000ms is 1 second.
17.46 Mb/s Down - This is better than promised.
1.47 Mb/s Up - As promised.

It's important to note that a small Word document should only take 2 or 3 KB, a music track takes about 3Mb, and a picture takes less than 1MB on average. Notice the large B... Mb is mega bits, MB is mega bytes. 8 bits to a byte. Do the math.

If you are on a Windows machine, click Start then run or in the search box type cmd or cmd.exe and you will get a DOS screen (If you are a LINUX or other OS user... you know all this and I don't know Mac at all.). It's a black screen with white letters. Now you can type ping speedtest.net or I like to add a few flags to it. -t means it will continue to run and -l allows you to set the packet size. So I type ping speedtest.net -t -l 1000. Below are my results. P.s. To stop this CTRL+C.

As you can see, 28ms is BULL... here 50ms is the minimum and 4240 is the longest this test took. THAT'S OVER 4 SECONDS! Now granted I'm having issues with my line that it's taken them MONTHS to even admit there is a problem, but this I think definitively answers your questions.

Trace Routes are VERY helpful too. Learn your DOS commands. Just google it...

Speedtest Speedtest.net: A Scam or Just Inaccurate?

This website, Speedtest, is a complete load of rubbish! I've been having issues with my internet speed lately, and not just on one PC, but on all four of them. I couldn't understand how all four of them could be slow with a virus, especially since I mainly use only one of them. The other three are free of cookies and unnecessary clutter. So, I decided to test my internet speed to see if it was my PCs that were causing the issue. A friend of mine recently purchased a brand new PC that he ordered from a manufacturer. It wasn't off the shelf from Wal-Mart, but rather, he specified the hardware to fit his needs. He spent over $1,500 on it, and he received it yesterday. He was bragging about how fast it was when playing games like WOW, COD, and GTA 5. So, he brought it over to my place to test it out on my internet. To my surprise, it ran slower than a snail. It took almost a minute to load Google's home page.

A techy from Comcast told me that Speedtest.net gives accurate results and is his personal go-to site to check if his connectivity is slow. So, my friend and I decided to test our internet speed using Speedtest.net. We both hit the Begin test button at the same time. The first test was the Ping test, which took a little over 20 seconds to complete. Then came the download speed test, which is where I knew they were scammers. Finally, we did the upload test. Here's what Speedtest.net said my results were: for the Ping test, it only took 5ms. Really? 5ms? Because we had our stopwatches out (we didn't really have an actual stopwatch because we're not gym teachers, but we used the stopwatch on our Apple iPhones), and it said it took 21.29 seconds for the bar to fill up. Next was the download speed test, and you guys are going to want to read this. According to Speedtest.net, my download speed was an alien 122.2Mbps! I kid you not. My friend's brand new $1,500 PC was only 89.34Mbps.

For those of you who don't know much about the internet, a Ping test is how fast your PC connects to the server. If your PC says "Waiting for a response from Google," it means it hasn't connected yet. Now, let's talk about the upload speed. Some of you might recall seeing commercials or even hearing your IPS talk about the new FIOS connectivity, which allows up to 50Mbps. This is what big businesses use, and it's pretty expensive. I should know because I'm shelling out a great amount for this on a monthly basis. It's the fastest a consumer (that's me and you) can get. As far as I know, no IPS provides speeds up to or exceeding 100Mbps, so how the heck is mine so freaking high? Oh wait, I know, because they're lying.

It's like an Apple iPhone. You know when you hop on the web, and the iPhone says you have full bars, but you can't connect to anything? The web pages that you are able to connect to take forever to load. But Apple will sit there and say, "Oh no, no, no, our stuff is top of the line." Yeah, top of the line bull crap!

Speedtest Beware of Speedtest.net: Is it Accurate or Deceptive?

Speedtest.net is a website that lets you check your internet speed. It's a popular tool that many people use to see how fast their internet connection is. However, I have some concerns about the accuracy of this website.

First of all, I have noticed that my ISP provider seems to like it when I use speedtest.net. They always tell me to use it when I call them with internet problems. This makes me suspicious. I think they like it because the results are hopelessly unrealistic. They can use these results to make it seem like my internet connection is faster than it really is.

I recently did a speed test on Thaivisa, a popular website in Thailand. The upload speed I got was around 100kbps. However, when I did the same test on speedtest.net, it said my upload speed was 600kbps. That's a big difference! I know that speedtest.net is wrong because I can't use my webcam on some sites. It's too slow for them.

Overall, I think you should be careful when using speedtest.net. It's not always accurate, and your ISP provider might be using it to deceive you. If you want to know your internet speed, it's better to use multiple tools and compare the results.

Speedtest Speedtest.net Review: Quick, Easy, and Accurate Internet Speed Testing

Yo, so I wanna talk about Speedtest, ya know, that website where you can check how fast your internet is. Honestly, it's pretty dope. Like, you just go to speedtest.net and click that big ol' button and boom, you got your results. It's super easy to use and it's free, which is always a plus.

I've used it a bunch of times and it's always been pretty accurate. Like, if I'm having trouble streaming Netflix or something, I'll run a test and see if my internet is just being slow or if it's something else. And if it is my internet, I can call up my provider and be like, "Yo, what's the deal? I'm paying for high-speed internet and it's not even that fast."

One thing I will say is that sometimes the ads on the website can be annoying. Like, I get it, they gotta make money somehow, but sometimes it feels like there's more ads than actual content. But hey, that's just the way the internet works, right?

Overall, I'd definitely recommend using Speedtest if you're curious about how fast your internet is. It's quick, easy, and free. And who doesn't love free stuff?

Speedtest Speedtest.net: A Fake Internet Speed Testing Website?

Speedtest.net is a website that claims to test your internet speed, but I have my doubts. I think they take money from internet service providers (ISPs) to fake the results. For example, my broadband connection is supposed to be super fast, but when I use Speedtest.net, it says my speed is only 2.5Mbps. That's ridiculous! I know for a fact that my speed is closer to 0.2Mbps, which is pathetic.

What's even more frustrating is that Speedtest.net is the number one app in the Playstore. How can that be? I suspect they've made thousands of fake reviews to boost their rating. It's not fair to people like me who rely on honest reviews to make informed decisions.

If you want to get accurate speed results, I recommend using testmy.net instead. They don't have any ties to ISPs, so you can trust their results. Don't waste your time with Speedtest.net.

Speedtest Beware of Cold Callers: My Disappointing Experience with Speedtest

I recently had an experience with Speedtest that left me feeling quite shaken. I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Sky, and they asked me to go to a website that they provided. However, I had a gut feeling that something wasn't right, so I refused to go to the website. That's when things took a turn for the worse.

The man on the other end of the line became very angry and started shouting at me, calling me a "stupid stupid woman." I was shocked and upset by his behavior, and I knew that I needed to take action. I told him that I was going to report the call to Action Fraud UK, which is a government agency that deals with fraud and cybercrime. However, the man didn't seem to care and told me to "F*%K off."

After the call ended, I immediately contacted Sky to report what had happened. They were very helpful and supportive, and they assured me that they would investigate the matter. They also reminded me never to type in a web address from a cold caller, which is good advice that I will definitely be following in the future.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with Speedtest. It's never okay to treat someone with disrespect and hostility, especially when they are just trying to protect themselves from potential fraud. I hope that this review will serve as a warning to others to be careful when dealing with cold callers, and to always trust your instincts.

Speedtest Speedtest.net Review: Useful Tool for Checking Internet Speed, but Use Other Sites for Accuracy

I just had a problem with my internet speed at home. It was so slow that I couldn't even watch my favorite TV shows without buffering. I decided to check out Speedtest.net to see what was going on. To my surprise, it showed that my download speed was 244 mbps! I couldn't believe it! I thought it was too good to be true, so I tried another site called Measurement Lab. This time, it showed that my download speed was only 73 mbps. That sounds more realistic to me.

After reading some reviews on Speedtest.net, I started to wonder if they were associated with my internet service provider. Some people were saying that they were biased towards certain ISPs. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it's something to keep in mind.

Overall, I think Speedtest.net is a useful tool for checking your internet speed. It's easy to use and provides quick results. However, I would recommend using other sites as well to get a more accurate picture of your internet speed. Don't rely solely on one site.

Speedtest Speedtest Review: Check Your Internet Speed in Seconds!

I just tried out Speedtest and it's pretty cool. It's a website where you can check how fast your internet is going. I was curious because sometimes my videos take forever to load and I wanted to see if it was my internet's fault. Turns out, it was! My download speed was only 5 Mbps, which is pretty slow. But my upload speed was 10 Mbps, which is faster than my download speed. I don't really know what that means, but it's interesting to see the numbers.

The website was really easy to use. All I had to do was click a button and it started testing my speed. It only took a few seconds to finish and then it showed me the results. There were a bunch of numbers and graphs, but I didn't really understand them. I just looked at the big numbers that said "Download" and "Upload" and compared them to what I was supposed to be getting.

I think this website would be really helpful if you're having internet problems. You can show the results to your internet provider and they might be able to help you fix it. Or you can just use it to brag to your friends about how fast your internet is. Either way, it's a fun little tool to play around with.

Overall, I really liked Speedtest. It was easy to use and gave me the information I was looking for. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to check their internet speed. Just be careful not to get scammed by people pretending to be from your internet provider!

Speedtest Speedtest Review: Accurate Results & Tower Stats, But Beware of Big O Test

I've been using Speedtest for a while now and I gotta say, it's pretty good. I've tried out 16 different tests, but I settled on using 4 of them. I like to know what my speed is before it goes into the router and after it comes out. The big O test always gives me the exact same result, but that's not how it works. Speed can change in milliseconds, so unless it's averaged over a wide range, it's not accurate. It kinda bugs me that so many people rely on the big O test, even though it's probably underestimating my speed by over 40gbs.

One thing I do like about Speedtest is that it shows me stats for towers that are like 1500 miles away. I mean, are we really that dense? I don't think so. But hey, it's still cool to see how fast my internet is compared to other places.

Overall, I'd say Speedtest is a pretty solid choice if you want to check your internet speed. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.

Speedtest Speedtest.net Review: Don't Trust It for Accurate Internet Speeds

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with speedtest.net. I mean, I thought it was gonna be the real deal, but it turns out it's just a fake website that can't even give me accurate information. I mean, come on, what's the point of a speed test if it's not gonna tell me the truth?

So, I decided to put it to the test. I ran the speed test on speedtest.net and it said I had a ping of 20. But when I went to play my favorite game, the ping was actually 3000ms! That's insane! I couldn't even play the game, it was so laggy.

And get this, the website said I was getting 300kp per sec download, but when I checked on one of my downloads, I was only getting around 20kbps. What a joke! I mean, seriously, why even bother with this website?

So, let me give you some advice. Don't trick yourself into thinking that your internet is good just because speedtest.net says so. It's not worth it. If you want to know your real internet speed, use Google's version. It's the only one that gives you close to exact information.

And just to be clear, my wifi sucks. But that's not the point. The point is that speedtest.net is a fake website that can't be trusted. So, save yourself the trouble and don't use it.

Speedtest The Deceptive Truth About Speedtest: A Review of the Internet Speed Testing Site

This website, Speedtest, is a real doozy. I swear, every time I have a problem with my internet connection, AT&T tells me to test it on this site. But let me tell you, even when my connection is slower than a snail on a hot day, this site always manages to give me a good result. I'm talking 2.3 to 2.5 megabits per second, even when I can't even load a simple HTML page without it taking forever.

Now, I'm not saying that this site is completely useless. It does have its moments. But sometimes, it feels like they're only testing the burst speed or something. And don't even get me started on how long some of these tests take. Two minutes? Really? And yet, it still says I'm getting a decent speed.

I've tried other sites to test my speed, and they've given me results ranging from 46 kilobits per second to 400 kilobits per second. So why does this site always give me a good result, even when I'm practically pulling my hair out over how slow my connection is?

I have a sneaking suspicion that ISPs are using this site to their advantage. Maybe they know that it always gives a good result, so they tell their customers to use it instead of other sites that might give a more accurate reading. Who knows? All I know is that this site can be a real scandal sometimes.

Speedtest Speedtest: A Site to Avoid - Ruined My Computer and Misrepresented My Internet Speeds

So, I was told by my TV provider, Direct TV, to check out this site called Speedtest. They said it would help me figure out my internet speeds, which they claimed were 4.0 and .75. But let me tell you, that was not the case at all. My internet was way slower than that.

But that's not even the worst part. They had this option to do a scan to boost my computer's speed, so I thought, why not? I clicked the button and it finished the scan pretty quickly. It told me to reboot my computer, so I did. But guess what? My computer wouldn't boot up. It said I was missing a dlnet file.

I'm so frustrated with this site. I mean, seriously, who puts out software that ruins computers? That's just not right. I'm warning you all, stay away from this site. It's not worth the risk. If a site can't even get their own software right, how can we trust them with anything else?

Speedtest is a popular online tool that allows users to measure the speed and quality of their internet connection. It is a reliable and accurate way to determine the download and upload speeds of your internet service provider. The website is easy to use and provides a simple interface that allows users to initiate a test with just a click of a button.

Once the test is initiated, Speedtest measures the ping, download speed, and upload speed of your internet connection. The website also provides a detailed report of the test results, including the server location, the time of the test, and the download and upload speeds. This information can be useful for troubleshooting internet connection issues or for comparing the performance of different internet service providers.
