SM structures constructed a shed on my property in October 2011 (My first clue that trouble was on it's way should have been that the head guy was drunk most of the time).
They attached the roof sheets to the steel frame on the down part of the corrugation and hence my roof has leaked ever since, they have been here 4 times to fix it (using my materials) and yet still it leaks. When I asked them to replace the roof as it would always leak due to the way the roof was attached - and even offered to pay half - they refused
I have contacted the company repeatedly and they have not returned my calls or answered my emails since November 2012.
If anyone is thinking of getting Steve Maycock and his assistant Stefan van Rensburg to construct you a shed, I would think very seriously about hiring them, their customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced.

Further to our comment in respect of Anni Milligan's comment, we formally wish to address the comment made by Hangar 55. The issue with Hangar 55 was positively resolved and it was agreed that the said comment will be removed by Hangar 55. The Complaints Board site unfortunately makes it practically impossible to remove comments. The Company was copied into an e-mail from Hanger 55 instructing the Complaints Board to remove the said comment. To date no such action was taken by the site. Accordingly as the Complaints Board is failing to take positive steps in this regard the continued publication of the comment is considered defamatory and unfair, accordingly the company reserves its rights in this regard.

With reference to the above mentioned complaint of Anni Milligan.
SM Structures are extremely concerned that the said comment was posted on the complaints board after the complaint was initially published on the Hello Peter site.
What is of extreme concern is that this complaint which was published here was long after the fact, and also does not depict the entire state of affairs.
What was not included in this complaint was the good comment that was published on the Hello Peter site by Anni Milligan wherein she confirmed that SM Structures rectified the said client’s complaint at SM Structures’ own cost.
As it stands at present the said publications on Hello Peter has been removed from the site.
Therefore the publication of this comment is considered to be contextually incorrect and amount to unfair comment, and is defamatory. SM Structures are reserving its rights in this regard.
SM Structures strive to ensure that all clients have a pleasant experience with SM Structures.
SM Structures proudly always ensure and that all steps are taken that is necessary, to attend to the unlikely event of a client being unsatisfied with the product and or service, as evidenced by the resolution of Anni Milligan’s complaint.

I agree with your generalsentiment that their work is substandard and their customer service non existent. Its been 4 months since they "completed" my structure and been paid. It still leaks, part of the steel is already rusting because they didnt paint it and they continue to fail to keep appointments.
