Having made a purchase from a reputable on line company I was pleasantly surprised to learn at the end of the transaction that I would receive £15 cashback via Shopperdiscounts. All I had to do was signn up and my cashback and loads of discounts from many UK top brands would be mine. I got a shock when some days after signing up my credit card had been debited £10 as my subscription. I never agreed such a charge and at no point did there offer mention a joining fee. What a scam. Ive tried to call but the office is closed due to severe weather!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
unautorised deductions of monies from my account
This company is taking £10 a month from my debit card without authorisation
The sum of £10 has been deducted from our account every month since at least April 2009
I have been charged £10.00 from shopper discount with i did not authorize please help!
They have been taking £10 per month from my credit card since last December
deducting £8 from my bank account every month without my consent or knowledge.
I have just discovered that £10 per month has been going out of my bank account for at least 4 months
ever since I bought a megabus ticket on 27 of June for 4 times (27 of June, 27 of July, 26 of August, 26 of september.) Total is 40pound.
I think I signed for that during bought a megabus ticket. but I didn't know and That is not what i want.
I want to receive my money.
I didn't use any your service.
On 8/9/09 I purchased flight tickets on line from Ryan Air via Shopper Discounts. I paid via my Tesco credit card.
Since this date on the 8th of each month I have had £10 deducted from my credit card account (£40 in all).
Probably remiss of me but I did not pick up on these deductions until the other day at which time I contacted the company (automated service) and cancelled.
I was blissfully unaware of this charge and would not have knowingly agreed to such a thing.
This experience has completely undermined my already fragile faith in the use of internet transactions and feel that action should be taken against the likes of this company and its apparent partner My Time Reweards.
Have spotted that I, too, have been caught by this 'scam' ! How many others, unwittingly also? I vaguely seem to remember being 'had' by some online promise of a £15 discount on shopping goods- or something similar.I have to say that I am sending this email in the early hours of a Sunday morning, so haven't yet attempted to contact this outfit. all I can do is to echo the comments made already that i find myself having been credit card debited on the 27th of every month since (and including!) December of 2009 in the sum of £10.00.
I was unaware that I had ever signed up for any debit whatsoever on any monthly basis - and am totally shocked that this is happening!
Have I got any rights in law to be reimbursed for my credit card losses (if such they be, having not yet managed to contact 'shoppingdiscounts.co.uk') by my bank?
Bear in mind that I am emailing this on a Sunday, as already stated, and have not yet had any opportunity to take this matter further in the 'working week'.Meanwhile, i'm clearly not the only person to be 'conned'. What can be done to stop others - and to stop these folk making a mint?
I have been out of the country every time shopperdisc have taking £10 out of my bank without my permission, dont even know who the are, i cantbelievee that any bank can allow any body to go into your bank account and just let them help there self to your hard working money its justunbelievablee its totally beyond me with all this technology that they have got, they are quick off the mark went you have insufficient fund to cover you next direct payments, is there anybody out there that could give me any advice before i go to the bank to try andretrievee my money back.

My fiance was also duped by these rogues. We only got to know about it when we received a telephone call from his bank on a Sunday afternoon. They advised they had been notified by Police due to an ongoing card fraud investigation. Make of that what you will? Of course we were slightly dubious about the phone call. The bank advised to legitimise the call, my fiance should call in his branch on the Monday morning and all the details would be on his file. It was. In the meantime they cancelled his card and re-issued another.
Anyone had any luck getting more than the token 6 month refund? I didn't realize that this had been going on for me for A YEAR and they sent me an affadavit. I'm not comfortable signing any legal documents over to the soulless scumsuckers.

yes it also happened to me, back in early january i ordered some clothes from MandMdirect, via an email i got this £15 cashback offer on next purchase, so i cladly signed up for it, i did not see anything describing i would be paying a£10 monthly subscription fee. What a SCAMMMMMMM. Luckily there was only 1 debit of £10 from my account but i cancelled my card in fear as i have had card fraud before, nothing like this it was a worker in a shop that stole my details. So now i have to wait for a new debit card :( .Anyway i rang the [protected] after ringing MandMDirect and shopperdiscontsandrewards cancelled my membership and are refunding my account.I also recieved an email like others to confirm this. The thing is the Lady from MandMdirect said it had nothing to do with them and just gave me the number, but this was attatched to there outgoing EMAILS this should be stopped its ILEGAL .False advertiseing small print stuff!.will inform if i recieve the credit back see no-one else has posted to say they recieved there money back!
I was conned into this scam 37 montsh ago after buying flowers through Interflora. It is easy to miss an £8.00 payment amongst many charges on a busy account statement, which I did. I eventually discovered I had to contact Shopperdiscounts to stop the subscription ( a disgrace in itself - shame on MBNA and VISA for allowing this company to use their platform when they know their M.O.) I got them to send me a copy of the original propostion internet page. It has a huge picture of a £10 discount voucher with your name, address and credit card details below it. The first paragraph also gives the impression that this is Interflora themselves who are making you this offer. Shopper Discounts' logo at the top of the paragraph has no reg trademark on it, so shopper discounts might easily be a description of an offer by Interflora, not a transaction with a separate company. If you do not read the whole page carefully, which I may not have done, it appears that you have to fill out the details to obtain your voucher offer. Look to one side or below and, in much smaller, in parts emboldened writing, the fact you will be charged £8.00 a month for this non-service, is explained. Of course, as the main suggestion of the page is a free voucher, they have you lulled, especially having just bought flowers for a loved one!
I contacted them. The woman on the phone stopped my 'subscription' and offered me 3 months payments back. I enquired how long this had been going on. The answer was a shock - 37 months. I said I was not happy but would provisionally accept the payments, took her name and said I would be seeking legal advice. I had an email within 10 minutes saying I would get all 37 payments back but pointing out to me that, in their opinion, it was clear that this was a subscription service and it was all there in the initial offer...which technically it was, in a fashion which I am sure the OFT and Trading Standards do not approve of, otherwise why else the immediate, unquibbled refund once I threatened legal action? In my experience, companies operating within the law and accepted trading standards do not easily part with money, especially 37 payments of £8.00.
I am no lawyer but I suspect this behaviour is sailing very close to the legal wind. I am ASTONISHED, that a comapny I would have previously had unquestioning faith in i.e. Interflora, would have anything to do with what is clearly a cleverly crafted scam that probably stays just the legal side of the criminal line. I have contacted them and they say they no longer deal with ShopperDiscounts...well great. BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH INTERFLORA. TRUST GONE, my flowers bought elsewhere in future.
It's obvious advice but, unlike me on this occasion, READ EVERYTHING SCRUPULOUSLY CAREFULLY BEFORE GIVING ANYTHING INVOLVING YOUR DETAILS.Also, if you didn't solicit it, I would personally now avoid anything offered to me on-line. 'FREE' = BEWARE!
I bought a train ticket through The Trainline and was pleased to hear I would be entitled to £15 cashback if I made another booking with them within specified time. I booked another ticket not knowing that they had taken 2 payments of £10 from my bank account. I couldn't understand this, I hadn't as far as I was aware, I hadn't agreed to joining "their club". Telephoned them on [protected] and selected option 3, spoke to lady and told her I wanted my money back. She kept on insisting that I knew what I had signed up for, couldn't rattle her at all, she didn't seem surprised about my situation at all. She said she had cancelled my memebership and that money would be refunded in 7-10 days. Received email confirmation of cancellation number and intenetion to refund my account. Let's see!
Have now recieved my £30 back today from SHOPPERDISCOUNTS ! It took a week but i now plan to cancel my bank card just incase this happens again !
This happened to me! I ordered some tickets from ticketmaster and I noticed that £10 has been taken from my bank account from a company called SHOPPERDISCOUNTS for the last 3 months. I called SHOPPERDISCOUNTS.CO.UK on [protected] and selected option 3 to speak to an adviser. I explained to her that I didnt give my consent to these payments to be taken from my account nor did I fill out any bank details. Dispite being very annoyed I was polite to her and she said she could refund 1 payment of £10 to my account and cancel my subscription I said this wasnt acceptable and that I wanted the £30 back. She agreed which I was shocked about after reading other complaints with this company. I got her name, agent number and confirmation of the cancellation. She explained that my refund will be back in my account within the next 10 days on 3 seperate payments of £10. I have also recieved an email to confirm this . I will keep you posted on the outcome ! Good Luck !
This happened to me, I purchased tickets from ticketmaster and filled out a form on the site to recieve "money off vouchers". I discovered that SHOPPERDISCOUNTS.CO.UK have been taking £10 from my bank account for the last 3 months without my authorisation. I did not give my consent nor did I enter any bank details. I called SHOPPER DISCOUNTS on [protected] and selected option 3 to speak to an adviser. I explained that I was unhappy that they had taken this money form my account and would like a refund, dispite my anger I was polite to her and at first she said she would refund only 1 payment of £10 which was the most recent payment. I said this was not acceptable and that I would like the £30 they had taken from my account refunded and my subscription cancelled. She agreed to do this which I was shocked about after reading all the bad customer complaints . I asked for the ladys name and agents number. She also gave me a confirmation number for the refund and subscription cancellation. I have also recieved an email confirming this today. Shes said my refund will be recieved within the next 10 working days and will appear as 3 seperate payments of £10 to my account. I will check this and let everyone know. Good luck !
FRAUD... just checked my statement... took 5 payments.. refunded only 1
I ordered some flowers on line with Interflora in Sept and there was a link for a 15 pound discount on your next order so I followed it and went through and printed the discount voucher and said yes to the e newsletter; there was no question about a 10 pound monthly debit from the card I'd used with Interflora. I have now 20 pounds taken off my card, Oct and Nov for something I did not knowingly sign up to. I spent ages on the site looking for a phone number, to no avail but then called the number on my credit card statement and got an automated voice message which allowed me to immediately cancel the charge - gave me all the details and a ref number. Seemed very efficient - let's see what happens in December! Lesson learnt !

I believe that I have also been duped by this scam.
I paid for a flight from RyanAir in July 2010 & was offered the £15 cashback offer, which I accepted. I have had three monthly transactions of £10 taken from my bank account since then. I am shocked that this is possible with the on-line protection of transactions.
I am also disgusted that reputable companies like RyanAir allow such underhanded shafting of their customers by an unscrupulous third-party tag-on to their website. No doubt some fat-cat IT geeks are laughing at us whilst creaming money from thousands of accounts.
YOU ROTTEN NO GOOD GREEDY [censor].
I will be contacting my bank tomorrow & also the BBC Watchdog programme.
