I never review anything online but I’m so upset with this company, I want to warn everyone. I signed up for $2 to view land for sale near me. Apparently you get charged $50 a month from then on. READ the mile long terms and conditions. Times are hard enough as it is, and this place is just taking your money. When I called to ask for a refund when I realized I was being charged, they kept making offers to take the monthly subscription down lower(the customer service offered $9 a month). They also do not have a refund policy and you have to fax forms to their legal team to even be considered for a refund. So thank you RENT BEFORE OWNING for taking food off of my children’s table. DO NOT SIGN UP. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!

This company is a hoax, will take money out your account . It's a big scam. Then when you try to cancel your account they want to try act like they did not do any harm. Made it complicated to cancel. Company is useless, don't waste any of your time. they are not helpful at all. Big Scam artists. Not even sure why they are still in business or allowed to do business. Need to be shut down period.

This website is false. They put these houses on here that are not for rent and they illegally put them on their site. I've personally asked the house owners and they said they did not put the houses on the site and that it was full buy on payment not rent at all. I'm never using this site due to their illegal actions. I also recommend not using them because they take your money from your account.

I have been calling for 3 days prior to being charged 40 plus dollars to cancel my trail . B answered I keep getting this automated vm of a young man saying the office is closed and normal business hours are from 6am to 6pm . I called during business hours and days to no avail I want my money back . I read the terms and conditions which is why I have been trying to cancel before my trail was over

This site is a scam. My mother fell for it and they kept charging her card even after she was deceased and we tried to cancel her subscription. You can get the exact same information on other rental sites and apps. You can also contact realtors in your area for free to find out which rental homes are rent-to-own versus rental only. Please contact a realtor and save your money rather than fall for these scams.

I would not recommend this service. The first four listings I looked at are all homes that are pending a sale, not for rent, what a scam! They don't have rent-to-own homes, they just refer you to Realitor.com. I am not sure how they are in business. VERY hard to cancel the trial without them charging your card the full monthly price. When I called about the listings for sold houses, they hung up on me. Stay Clear of this business!

This company is very shady. I signed up, missed the fine print (charge $49 monthly after the first month) and just now called to cancel after noticing this bill. 1. You can't cancel from the website, you have to call which is RIDICULOUS. When you call to cancel they offer you 50% off, when you say no they offer your 50% off of that. 2. I checked my bank. Looks like I had signed up MONTHS ago and they have been charging me $1 every week and then $49.60 each month totaling $252 for a site I used maybe one time.

I had a great experience with them. Unfortunately another rent to own company started texting me and I was confused thinking my subscription never went through. I finally figured it out after the $1. trial and the $49. charge. I finally went into the site and liked it but we werent ready until our our lease is up in May 2022. I asked for a refund since we couldn't get the full effect of the service and they gave me credit back to my credit card. I will come back to them in May. I only wished we would have found them 15 years ago!

Cliche, but, if I could give no stars, I would. Hopefully, this review is read BEFORE someone signs up for the site. This is honestly one of the sneakiest, dirtiest things people can do to take other people's money. No, your listings are NOT current, and no, no one can be reached on any of the FOUR (4) Customer Service numbers you have listed around the internet. I called them all, multiple times. I do not understand how you are still in business. I know the ComplaintsBoard.com can't really DO anything to you, but I really do wish you could be held accountable. It's shameful that there are people out here really looking for a home for their family and can't find one because playing money games is more fun than actually helping people.

I think this company is a scam. I was informed my house is listed on rentbeforeowning.com. I looked it up and there is a picture of my house and listed for rent for $780 a month. The picture listed on the site is the same picture on Google maps that was taken 7 or 8 yrs ago. I called the number on the web site. The man I spoke to denied my house being listed. It was only when I told him I had the site pulled up and looking at the listing of my house did the man admit it was listed. He would not tell me how he gotten my house listed or personal information. He stated the listing for my house would be removed. I have also emailed them because they have yet to take my house off their website. I told the man I have not given anyone permission to list my house as it is NOT for sale.

When I signed up for a 1.00..I received a text that I would be charged 50.00..so I did not confirm the payment authorization text. I also called the toll free number to make sure I was not registered..the ivr says there was no account on file matching my number. So I assumed everything was ok. Low and behold..check my account and they have taken 49 dollars out..so I called again..same messge in the ivr so this time I spoke to someone who offered a lower rate. I explained I do not want thier service nor was I able to use thier service! I never created an account..never looked for 1 house on their site. So he sent me an confirmation email showing the cancelation and refund. I will give it 1 to 3 days and if I do not have my money back i will file a fraud dispute with BOA. This site is definitely a ***!

Never deal with this company. The lies I was told and then after they got my credit report they never called me back. I finally was able to speak to a person named Mo and more lies. I had spoken to Danny and was told that all looked good but he was not the person that looks into the files that Mo was. It has taken me over 1 month to finally get some answers The want 5% upfront for you to give them towards a home you rent the home for 3-5 years and pay the mortgage and then you have another loan you have to pay another 5% to get the down payment of 10% total. They don't tell you that you don't own the home. You then have to purchase the home at a higher price than what it was listed for 3-5 years ago. They call this saying money. NO WAY you end up paying more. All the rent you pay goes into the pocket of the person that purchased the house for you in the first place. That could be thousands of dollars. AVOID them . I refuse to deal with them now after I found out all this crap

Rent before owning is a sham. Do not sign up with these guys. If you want to cancel... They will charge your card anyway. The guy I spoke with was doing what they told him to say. I shot them an email stating I want to cancel. 4 hrs diff. Behind. I waiting, wanted to call make sure they received my email. I explained that I called my card and $ 49.60 is Pending are you kidding me. They wanted to give me half now that they wer wanting to give me a gift cert. OH HECK NO. YOU CAN GO TO WEB SITE AND PICK UN OPTION. NO I GOT YOU ON THE PHONE NOW. HE goes this is a web site based company. What r u serious, I got the number from the site customer service that is u right? AND THESE PEOPLE, PRACTICES ARE WHO WE OLDER GEN. R LEAVING TO RUN THINGS AFTER WE R GONE. SCARY. THEY DId REFUND FULLY BUT WILL NEVER GO BK. I bet he was happy he answered my call this morn. I feel for the guy that had that credit threat. I would tore him up.. Then his super. Its just wrong! Thank you for the opportunity to inform people. We don't have to put up with being threatened or punks.

I signed up for this website thinking it was legit. I provided my credit card number to access the site, noting that I would be charged $1 for 7 day access, then charged the recurring fee of $46 something. I viewed the website and decided it was not what I wanted. No bad experience, YET. I called the number to cancel the membership. I was told that since I was cancelling the membership on the same day, it would affect my credit score and report. I kept asking why and he just kept repeating it would affect my credit score. I said that doesn't make sense (I did not give them my SSN) and I still wanted to cancel. THEN I was told that if I cancel, my information would make it to the dark web where it could be misused. He offered no reason why that would be the case. I insisted I didn't believe that and still wanted it cancelled. He tried to lower the monthly fee twice, but I wouldn't take the offers. Eventually, I was told it was cancelled and I would see a refund of the $1. I also received emails saying that, too. I'll wait to see if I'm still charged as other people say. Seriously, what kind of scare tactics are those?

I paid the dollar for the month, but was never given a courtesy email to remind me of a REALLY LARGE CHARGE to my account. After seeing the charge, I immediately called and cancelled and was told that I would receive a refund. 5 days go by a I called back and was told that they have no record of me calling and my subscription was never cancelled. I can prove from my call history on my phone that I did. I just want my money back please. Im not sure what kind of company y'all are running, but, by the looks of things, I'm not the only one who is being hijacked.

I paid $1 to view Rent Before Owning. I did not agree to a recurring subscription. They keep trying to hit my card for $49.60 monthly.

I paid for the one week trial. I immediately saw that the site wasn't what I needed, so I emailed them to cancel. I never heard back, and then a week later, I was charged the $50 monthly fee. I emailed again to cancel, and again, no response.

On Saturday they charged me 49.60 after I cancelled my subscription they'd already tried taking the money twice and wasn't in there so got hit with overdraft charges and cancelled it and they continue trying to take the money and was successful on Saturday I cancelled the previous week and would like a refund on what they took from me

I paid $1 for a 7day trial on the 21st of june. That same day I was charge $49. I can not login to the account it says my email can not be found and is requiring me to sign up again. I have emailed and have not recieved a response for over 2 days now. I am trying to cancel this subscription before I continue to get charged for a service I am not able to use. I would like a refund on my account for the $49 because it did not give me a 7 day trial and my bank account statements can prove this to be true. Completely fraudulent behavior!

I signed up for the free trial 1.00$ no big deal. Relized it wasnt what I was looking for sfter the second day. I canceled with them. Then for the past 2 mobths theyve taken a dollar out every other day or once a week. Then they took 51.00 and some odd change 2 times since I canceled. I'm enraged I wrote them a second time to cancel. Tried calling but I couldnt get through to snyone. I also asked my bank not to authorize any more transactions but was unsuccessful. I want my money back full rerrages of what theyve taken since I canceled the first time before my trial even expired!

My husband signed up for Rent Before Owning as we were looking for a house. He called to cancel and yet we keep getting charged. He cancelled back in Jan but we were charged in Feb and in March $49.70. There are also a few $1.50 charges as well. That is over $100 that you have now taken out of our bank account and we simply just want to be refunded. However, noone will cancel our account. They are more than welcome to call me or my husband if they like to get this settled. It seems to me they are doing this to a lot of people. Beware people, you obviously don't need to use this website to look for a home.

Okay I was interested in looking at homes that were rent to own but in order to just view these listings you have to subscribe for 1 dollar for 7 day trial after I completed the everything for the subscription it tells me after the 7 day trial it will automatically charge $50 each month so I emailed them that very same day requesting to cancel my subscription noone replied back to me within that 7 day trail period and after which still attempted to take the $50 out of my account I would like to be refunded my $2 you guys took from me for misleading me and also for failure to communicate and false advertising and to no longer be charged and also have money withdrew from my account

Rent before owning has been taking $49.60 out of my account for a while now and I have been trying to find out how to reach them so that it would stop because evidently I don't have that phone number anymore and I have a new email address. I just found out how to get back in the [protected]@gmail.com account The end of December I finally found there web site and information and asked them to stop taking the money out of my account and they are still taking $49.60. I asked in January and now February. Can u please contact them and ask them to stop and I would like a refund for at least January and February. I have never gone on that site and don't plan to. Thank u for tou understanding and help.

The first shady thing that happened was that I was charged a $1 membership fee multiple times. Following that I was charged nearly $50 to the same card, like many other people have experienced. I have hardly any money on my debit card and it was declined. It was not my intention to pay that much to a membership to a lousy website, but it seemed to have more rental listings in my interest area than other websites. I emailed to cancel my membership but I thought I would write a formal complaint because this is an unacceptable amount to charge for just viewing properties. It's a dirty trick to mislead people with a $1 fee and then hit you with a $50 shortly thereafter. No respectable business offering the very limited services this "business" offers would do this.

I have been looking for a house and when you want to see them you have to or are suppose to pay a dollar and then after so long it goes up to 49.80. Well I looked at my bank sheet and from 6/23 until 7/20 they have taken 383.25 cents out of my checking account. I tried to call them and then finally a woman named "D***" called me and we talked and she said they were only associated with the Rent before owning.com and the other ones I would have to contact them. Well when I looked on my phone last night all the Foreclousures, Deluxe Pay homes, Realty Store, Hud Homes and GRTO were all taken off my list on my email. If she only representative the "Rent Before Owning.com then why did she remove all of them. And I did not call anyone else, so someone is not telling me the truth. Anyways they owe me 383.25 and I want it put back in my checking account pronto. Not only are they cheating you out of your money when you think you are only paying a dollar, they are false advertising. These people need to be stopped. If I don't get my money back I will get a hold of an attorney and see what can be done about this
