Petco Vetco

"Vetco Publicly Shamed Returning Customer and Was Told to Leave"

7/03/2022, my Labrador Retriever and I attended a scheduled appointment to get her tri-yearly rabies shot. Here’s a list in order of unprofessional events that occurred: 1st out-dated Vetco check-in procedure instructed me via text message to text number 3 upon arrival in parking lot, and to wait in vehicle for Vetco staff to let me know to take pet into Petco for vaccination appointment. I arrived waited in my car with my dog with no contact from Vetco, I called Petco with no staff responding, I saw owners take pets into Petco for services. Secondly, I took my dog into Petco and discovered a broken line of sorts, mixed with walk-in clients, owners with appointments, disorganized, scattered around each other leaving customers to ask each other how to check-in. A couple with their puppy started talking with me and asked me if I was a walk-in customer like they were and if not to check in with staff, they pointed to where I was supposed to notify a vet tech of my appointment. The vet tech inappropriately assumed that I was cutting in line, she vocally told me to stop cutting in line despite that I stated customers in front of me told me to walk-over to her and check-in with her before I returned to the back of the line. The vet tech began to ignore me, then was verbally rude with an aggressive tone of voice and facial expression, she helped other people that had appointments before me which was standard, but then she assisted other pet owners that were walk-ins before me, she got my pet's weight and confirmed my appointment time, I noticed it was now 45nminutes passed my scheduled appointment time. I saw the vet tech walked over to another staff who was giving shots to a dog on a table, the tech started whispering in front of me to that staff member, she began pointing at me and instead of pulling me aside to speak with me privately, she verbally, publicly embarrassed me in front of other Vetco customers and looked me up and down exclaiming that she could not give my dog a lyme disease preventative vaccination, I stated that I was only scheduled for my dog to receive a tri-yearly rabies shot and no other treatment, She paused as if she understood, she started trying to sell me a heartgaurd preventative, I refused to buy heartgaurd preventative treatment from vetco and I told them that I would speak to my own veterinarian about resuming regime when appropriate, the tech verbally scolded me, she walked back to the other vetco staff member still attending to the dog on the table, interrupted her and she again looked me up and down and with an angry tone of voice and again embarrassed me publicly, she stated that my dog was not going to get lyme disease and rabies vaccinations from Vetco and to leave. All the customers in Petco store and all Vetco customers were watching this embarrassing show that the staff caused because they assumed that I had attempted to cut in line. I stated that I was a past vet tech familiar with practices so I offered up my complete and up-to-date veterinary, shot record history for my dog that I always bring to all veterinary, grooming appointments, I asked them to look at my dogs’rabies vaccination status to see and confirm that I was only attending the shot clinic to have my dog's tri-yearly rabies vaccination updated and I was not there for a lyme disease preventative, I had remarked that there was a difference between a rabies shot and a lyme disease preventative measure, I was unsure why Vetco staff kept saying that I was requesting a lyme disease preventative treatment when I was not. I assume that because the Vetco staff had created an unpleasant, uncomfortable public scene that to save them embarrassment they told me to leave saying that they were not going to honor my appointment and that I would need to see my own veterinarian for the rabies vaccination, it seemed easier for the Vetco staff to save face after abusing a customer to tell a scheduled customer to leave, rather to be accountable for their behavior and to follow-through with a standard rabies shot scheduled appointment for a healthy, well mannared 5 year old dog. I was mortified, humiliated, the crowed added more insult to injury, my dog and I had waited a long time and the only service I received from my first and last Vetco appointment was being publicly made a spectacle of. Before, I left the store I told Vetco staff that I was going to file a complaint against them for inappropriate behavior and abusive business practices that had been done to me, the Vetco staff laughed at me and sarcastically told me to go ahead. The Vetco experience was highly unprofessional, demeaning. I am a supportive member in our community and I serve others as a counselor and I would never treat any human being with disgusting disrespect as I had endured as a Vetco customer. That same day which was a long day thanks to Vetco, I took my dog to Tractor Supply's Vet Vip Pet Care Clinic who I had used in the past and their staff without discrimination, gave my dog her tri-yearly rabies vaccination, I gave my veterinarian a copy of my dogs’ rabies vaccination without issue. Your staff are judgmental, discriminatory, abusive and unprofessional. The discrimination proof is to ask your staff why I was able to get a standard rabies shot from Tractor supply that same day but not at my scheduled Vetco appointment that day. Please see my official Tractor Supply proof of rabies vaccination documents for my dogs' successful 3 year rabies shot given that day from Tractor Supply and not by Vetco scheduled appointment.

Desired outcome: I desire to speak with a Vetco manager to discuss why this abusive behavior was allowed to happen to a community member at a scheduled shot clinic appointment.

Petco Petco clinic at kopolei

On July 10, 2022 at approximately 4:40 pm inside the Kopolei, Hawaii Petco (store #01178) at 4550 Kopolei Parkway Suite 140, Kopolei, Hawaii 96707 I asked two women seated at the table, “Is this the clinic?” They acted like they did not hear me, which surprised me since it was quiet and there wasn’t any customers or clients… There was no line!

I repeated the question and one of them said “Yes.” I explained to the one who responded that I wanted to purchase heart-worm med for my pet. They told me their appointment book is full. Both women asked me whether or not I had an appointment.

I said “No.” Since I did not see any pets, nor customers anywhere in sight. I thought it bizarre that they would not give us any service!

I had to ask the women if I could be put on a waitlist or take the appointment of any “no show.”

That’s when the trainee for receptionist, Leilani, said a $5 fee for walk-in is required… Since I didn’t pay that six months ago, I asked the coordinator about it and she confirmed it.

Because of the lack of proactive interest by the vet, vet tech, coordinator, and receptionist in paying customers, I am rating the staff of this clinic with 1 star or a 3 on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest score. The clinic area is wide open for all the staff to see customers and vise a versa… whoever has any responsibility for the clinic did not exercise excellent customer service!

Most importantly, the infantile behavior of receptionist Leilani was appalling to me! After writing the order slip for me to pay the cashier, which I promptly took to the register and returned to Leilani, she handed the box of medication to me but would not let go of it when I reached for it! I had to pry it from her two hands!

Leilani ought to be fired for her behavior. I let her know that I would be reporting it. Other customers should not be subjected to her unkind, ill-will, rude, poor, juvenile, odd or weird behavior! Customer service is not a skill, talent, or gift that she possesses! Leilani’s behavior provokes or engenders dissatisfaction with the clinic and Petco brand.

Desired outcome: Leilani has no business providing receptionist service or customer service to the public since she has proven herself to be rude, hostile, unkind, mean spirited, etc... I think she should be fired!!!

Petco Grooming services/ policy change

The date of the incident is July 7th, 2022 around 8AM.

I had a grooming appointment scheduled for one of my dogs in advance ( ~ 4 weeks). This was the 2nd visit. I arrived to the Petco store on the 4th St in Renton Washington on time at 8AM. Out of the blue the groomer asked me if my dog has any health condition. The question surprised me as it wasn't the 1st visit. I said my dog has a heart murmur. They ( store manager and the groomer) notified me Petco changed its policy and doesn't accept dogs with heart murmur. My frustration and dissatisfaction is why nobody notified me via email or phone call or text or something about the policy change? This is unacceptable. It is extremely hard to find a grooming appointment right away anywhere nowadays as demand for grooming services is very high. So now after waiting for an appointment for 4 weeks I have to find a new place and wait for 4 more weeks? How is that a good customer service? I am very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Petco They called the police and had my truck impounded

Petco had they park the shot clinic in the parking but when I put doun2u in the same lot a petco person called the wareham police they inpounded my unit this caused me too have an emotional break down I am a 100% disabled vieteran doun2u is a disaster recovery for children & dependents victims of disasters I have been child advocate since before katrina / reta petco has kept doun2u from doing dur mission children are victims bu t I am making people aware no national org. That cares for kids org. How can it be petco can do something but other companies cant we have filed a complant with the court house in wareham how can it be good for 1 and not others awareness children do not have a major spocks person sse you in court god bless

Petco Online purchasing

Petco in Redwood Road in Taylorsville utah. Every time I order online for store pickup it is such a hassle, the cashiers are rude because they can never find my order

I come with an order number and they still want a photo I.d. It takes a half hour every time I go there!? The cashier that helped me today was so rude! Moving forward I will look at other pet stores for my purchases!

Petco Katee Parakeet Food

I am so over This this is the 3rd time trying to get this idem. They say 2 day delivery and it's now 5 days and still nothing. I am so disappointed, don't have any more food for my bird. Never ordering from them again. They told me they can't refund me my money but for all the trouble I really should get my money. Order placed on 5/19/2022

Petco Dog grooming (bath/nail grinding)

THIS PLACE IS NOT RESCUE FRIENDLY!

PETCO IS NOT RESCUE FRIENDLY!

This is not the first time I’ve brought a rescue here and had a bad experience, as a pet sitter and a dog owner I am fuming.

Upon picking up my rescue dog, she was still wet and shaking while locked in a cage. They had no reasoning behind this. They also chipped nearly all of her nails in several spots, and decided to not touch one of her nails at all. She came out of there traumatized all over again. She came home and went right to sleep, which is very unlike her. She’s a puppy and she doesn’t even want to play anymore!

We’re not even sure if there were other internal injuries sustained yet, or injuries to her neck. All we know right now is she is not okay after seeing the groomers at Media Petco. We have pictures. We will take this further.

Our dog has been through enough and this impedes on her personal well being and progress.

I expect a full refund and an apology. We will never be going here again, and I will be spreading the word through social media about what has happened here.

AND IT LOOKS LIKE WERE NOT THE ONLY ONES THIS HAPPENS TO.

Desired outcome: Full refund and a voucher for a free grooming at another location.

Petco Petco

Petco of Hanover Pennsylvania refused to sell me goldfish for my pond claiming that the water is too cold. I told them that the water is temperature regulated like most koi ponds but they did not believe me. The manager went as far as asking me to take a picture of a thermometer in the water to prove I wasn't lying. I tried reaching out to customer service but no help. What kind of place calls someone a liar over a goldfish?

Desired outcome: an apology for making me by my fish 20 miles away at petsmart instead of right here in town. And an apology for calling me a liar

Petco Grooming

I just picked up both my pets a husky and an Australian shepherd/husky mix 66 lbs and. 45 lbs respectively I paid $196 for a cleaning and a deshedding. They were there 3 hours. I brought them home and took a good look. Yep clean... but a lot of hair still loose so I brushed them each for 1 minute. I was covered in dog hair as was my floor. I can go to pets plus wash them my selves for $10 and dry them and get the same results. I've been to petco before with the husky and never had her shed so much after. Extremely dissatisfied and not worth half of what I spent. I was never told of extra expense for brushing I expected to be $20 per dog as per sign. But was $40 per dog. When I asked about it they basically blew me off and said I don't know.. that's the price. She also claimed she brushed them a lot. That doesn't appear to be close to the case based on pictures I took after brushing them both for 1 min each.

Desired outcome: Refund or redo service. Even if it's just deshedding . They don't need to be cleaned that often.

Petco rabi shots

1/9 my son took our yorkie for her rabi shot...she was fine going out with him and came back with her having to be carried...She was in pain because a lowlife vet tech, instead of a VET gave the shot and then another one saying she saw an infection on her...THERE WAS NO INFECTION. She was groomed the day before by me...I brushed her and notice nothing! She could not walk without help, would not eat anything. and wasn t able to urinate. I found out that one of the shots was the cause of her kidney problem, I consulted with another Vet who found out that what they gave her which started with a K, he found out what it was and said "WHY THE HELL WAS SHE GIVEN THAT" Told me what to expect and 1 mo later, after not wanting food, and not wanting water, not walking without help, my sweet little girl was found by me, dead in her bed...her weight went from 13lbs to about 8lbs. I found out that when I complained, they gave her Diphen hydraminde and after suffering and not being able to do anything, I found my sweet girl dead in her bed on 3/10. I found out how UNCARING AND REDICULOUS they were. No Help...I saved that page to my computer and they changed the site to say she was nervous and that she was only given a rabi shot...everything else was gone. BUT, I saved the entire original posting because I DON T TRUST EASILY. Now my sweet girl is dead and I get to wait for her ashes...I never got an acknowlegment and was hung up on constantly...I have 27 messages from them not one of them is an apology. I HATE THEM because my little girl passed away, or rather

killed, by them and now they do not acknowlege or answer my calls. I suddenly keep getting disconnected...I HOPE THEY ROT IN HELL for what they did...I did lodge a complaint with PETA, they will fix them

Petco grooming

last visit we were upset as we watched our chihuahua being dragged out of y

the waiting area,,,

I just left from Nicky's appt, and because I asked about the prices going up , not angry, not upset, and when I picked him up, the groomer told me we are no longer allowed to bring him for grooming any more!

i have never seen anything like this in any other business ! so we pay for a service and after being customer for over a year at least, I am not allowed to get upset?

This is really a bad move on the groomer's part.

Petco Dog grooming

We took my 3.5 pound Yorkie, Mia, who was almost 10 at the time, to the Pwtco on N Pleasentburg Dr in Greenville, SC on January 31, 2022 for a trim. My boyfriend received a call saying he hair was matted near her rear end (which is wasnt), and that he needed to TRIM it a bit shorter. Not knowing what was to come, my boyfriend said ok expecting a slight trim. When he picked her up, she was completely shaved and shaking because it was the middle of Winter. I went the following day to speak with the manager to find out what happened. In the almost 10 years I've had her, she has NEVER been shaved or had her hair cut that short, had he informed us, we would have said no and picked her up. The manager said he would find out what happened and call me back when the groomer returned to work. I did not hear from him, so I called back 2 days later. The manager Matt? That I had smitten to wasn't there, my information was taken and I was told I would get a call when he returned to work. I again did not get a phone call. At this point, Mia was violently shaking every day and coughing uncontrollably. We had to take her to the Vet where we learned she had Kennel Cough and was given an antibiotic.

After never hearing back from them, I called the corporate office on March 14 to for a complaint and was told I would get a call in 24 to 48 hours, again I did not receive a call. It has been a month and a half, she still has a cough and still shakes violently. I feel as though something happened to my dog while she was there and they don't want me to know about it.

Desired outcome: Refund for Vet costs approx $200 and a call about what happened while my dog was there with video or some proof that it is actually what occurred. I added a video of her right before the incident and a picture of her afterwards.

Petco Cat grooming

Your grooming service bad. i took my cat for grooming in petco which i regret now. the groomer was unprofessional

first she ask me to sign consent form and when i ask her what i am signing for she kept on pointing in the paper where should i sign without explaining what i am signing as it was not my right to ask.

secondly she had the audacity to say if the cat hiss will stop the service ?! I am sorry why are you pet groomer if you can not deal with Cat hissing ?!

third unprofessional thing i ever seen all the hair they trim from my cat they left it for me in my cat carrier REALLY PETCO

Petco Your service is ridiculous!

Been waiting in my dogs meds for a week

I know that my vet sent approval over

I was disappointed last time I had ordered meds when I had NO warning and you guys just cancelled my order and refunded me

Why is there NO communication?

I am not pleased

Especially since this went up in price so much

Petco Customer relation

Went to petco on noland rd on March11 around 10:15. I was informed from a manager, that my dog could not come into the store unless we brought something from them. I have talk to other workers about me walking my dog on snow days. No one has ever care, they said that would be ok. I told them if she poop I will clean up. I have always clean up. But this manager said that I only brought her in to poop, that is not true, I bring her in to give her a walk, other people do the same. And they don't buy anything. One of the other employee said that we don't bring our dog up their for that purpose. And the manager would not give her name, which is unprofessional. I also call the main number about this problem.

Petco Buy 10 bags, get one free? How about 50 and get zero

That’s right, I’ve been buying dog food from Petco for the last six years, and I have NEVER receive a 10th bag.

Furthermore, no one in the store can tell me how many bags of purchased and whether or not I’m on my 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th bag. Their response was “when it happens, it happens“.

They should be more like PET SUPERMARKET. Over there, when you buy a bag of dog food, your count is reflected on your receipt and the representative says “you have two more bags to go sir“. Pet supermarket is a far superior business and the only reason I shop at Petco is because there’s no PET SUPERMARKET in New Orleans. They should give you the free bag at checkout, with no coupon necessary, and it should never expire. There should be a app or webpage where you can check how many bags you purchased.

Or maybe you can get one of those hole punchers like Starbucks used to have when you bought a cup of coffee.

I swear to God, I wholeheartedly hate Petco with all my heart and if pet supermarket was here in New Orleans, I’d never step foot in your store again.

Desired outcome: 1. I want 5 free bags of dog food like I deserve.2. An apology from the CEO for wasting my time. I shouldn’t have to fight for what’s mine.3. I WANT THEM TO CHANGE.
