PayPal BWARE! PayPal balance is a ‘free for all’

I use PayPal on a regular basis and I really like the app but I’m now skeptical about PayPal altogether! I use it in multiple ways... but just had my bubble burst when it became clear that my cash ‘balance’ was used for everything except for what my intentions were for it once I linked my debit PayPal card to it! I couldn’t understand how I kept having money disappear where I was unable to utilize the debit card for the specific purpose I had intended for it. Sure... there’s an ‘activity’ list BUT not specifically how my cash balance kept disappearing. There’s no itemized ‘activity’ specifically for the cash balance. Although you choose your ‘preferred’ payment a certain way, and your cash balance is NOT your preference, it IS PayPal’s preference to utilize your cash balance as a ‘free for all’. I have made changes to my account but prior to getting the total run around from ‘chat messaging’ I had $25 a week debited from my bank account for savings and $25 a week to invest in Acorns. The ‘chat’ told me it is in the ‘agreement’ to debit from our cash balance first which led me on a mission to closely look at my bank records and sure enough there are weeks that only (1) $25 debit (instead of 2) was made BUT then there were weeks that it was taken out multiple times! I know now to keep close attention to PayPal debits but I cancelled the ‘savings’ portion and set it up through Karma instead. But how much sense does it make, for example, I transferred money from my cash app to my banking to deposit to my PayPal balance so I could use the debit card strictly for couponing hauls, but when I went to use it, I had no funds available because instead of PayPal debiting my bank account for the savings and Acorns it took it from the cash balance! There is no logic to it and requested to see whatever ‘agreement’ they kept insisting on chat messaging was the reason behind the ‘free for all’ with my cash balance. I’ve been putting money toward my balance from rebate apps and can’t believe I had always assumed I had accidentally chose it as my ‘preferred’ way to pay when making a purchase but because I had made a significant deposit for a couponing rebate haul with the intention of using my PayPal debit card did I finally realize something was not right. When taking a closer look, they even debited from my balance to every merchant I purchased from and one was even a subscription I have that is supposed to get charged to my credit card! It states under the ‘cash balance’ ~save for a rainy day~ - Yea, right! I got no where with customer support who kept throwing ‘agreement’ in my face that has yet to be seen per my request. I insisted that I wanted my cash balance to be left alone so I can actually use my debit card against it but there’s an ‘agreement’ I have yet to see. Oh yea... do NOT (when managing your debit card) choose the option to ‘Top Off’ from your bank account if funds are not available in your ‘balance’ because if you use your PayPal like I do (for various things... savings, investments, purchases etc) you will be tapping into your bank account instead of it coming out of your ‘cash balance’ because that money is a free for all and they don’t make it easy to keep track of. They should at least have an itemized list of specific transactions in correlation to your cash balance. If you don’t have it as your ‘preferred payment’ - then leave it alone! Cancelled my savings and transferred my balance BACK to my bank account! At least, I know my money there isn’t a ‘free for all’ and I know to watch PayPal closely. Will not be utilizing any cash balance or ever have any use for the PayPal debit card.

PayPal Horrible customer service and scams

Today was one of the worst days in my life. It all started with a call from PayPal informing me that my account has been compromised, but it was really scammers. I initially hung up and attempted to log into my account to call PayPal and noticed my password had changed. I think attempted to go web based and enter PayPal into google and call that way. It basically forwarded my calls to the scammers. I didn’t recognize it at first. So I was informed that I needed to go a PayPal partner store to buy a google play card. So when I informed the rep that it was stupid for PayPal make me spend money to verify my location and identity. I live in Michigan and the scammer lives in California...the only scam is PayPal. So the rep sent me a security code that came through the same text message number from PayPal as I called before in November and they verified my account the same way. These so called scammers new all my information. So I assumed they were telling the truth. I hung up and attempted to call PayPal again but every time I called the number posted on PayPal’s account was going to the scammers. So they verified my account again by sending a text message from PayPal from the same number. So I purchased a $100 google play card and read the rep the number. He then proceeded to say that he was half way through cleaning the hackers but needed another google play card for $500 and remind you, they said this money will be returned on your PayPal card in 5 mins. I insisted to the rep that I was not buying another google play card and wanted to speak with a supervisor and he hung up. It was at this time I received another email stating my PayPal account password has been changed. So I went to yahoo browser to look for PayPal home page and wrote the number on a piece of paper and select the call button. When the phone started to call I realized the last four digits were different then the number I wrote down. That how I knew something was different. I contacted PayPal and I realized that it was scam when the rep state sorry, but we have been busy all day with these call. She stated google and PayPal are working together with law enforcement in investigating these claims as I’m not the only person. I was baffled because if this is true, why did PayPal not contact their customers via phone, email, letter or text message that customers should be aware of suspicious activities as there has been some possible accounts being hacked. PayPal did nothing and did even offer an apology. I sat on the phone with PayPal for 2 and half hours it’s was pathetic. They helped me change my password and informed me that they will reimburse the $100, and added protection and will investigate. Apparently, they lied. I went to get gas and my card was denied. When I attempted to sign on my acct was locked again. When I called PayPal I waited on hold for 40 mins. Then the rep informed me that there was an investigation and the account is restricted. Informed the rep how can I use my funds and he just said they are investigating. I informed him that I need access to my money and he was silent. PayPal has basically hacked 100’s of dollars from customers like me. I still can’t access my account or use my card, so basically PayPal is holding and refusing me access. I believe the whole scam is PayPal and this is a pay for the to get more money and lock your funds up for interest because they are a private bank. Run from PayPal, they are scammers and liars. If you want your hard working money, don’t trust it with PayPal. I learned the hard way and lost my money because PayPal is just holding it. Poor poor service. PayPal should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people.

PayPal What a joke a real unrealistic unprofessional group of representatives

Well I've been a long-term loyal customer And I've done thousands of dollars of transactions using PayPal for a while now I have available to access my account he gives me a number to call PayPal When attempting to login to my account when I call the number and asked me if I'm having a problem logging in with the automated phone service Then they stated they will send me a password reset link in order to get it to my account and change my passwordSo I change the password to login and I get the same error message not Allowing me to login . After attempting this several different times And still being locked out of my account I finally get a hold of a real live representative. So they inform me I have a negative balance of $10 with PayPal So then proceed to tell me that's why my accounts Been locked so you lock me out of my account when I go to login I get a error message being told to call A number for PayPal then being prompted to get a link sent to my email to change my password now I can't access my account I have no way of knowing I have an unpaid balance I have no way of paying this unpaid balance but I don't know this yet so the representative says she'll take my payment using my debit card after several attempts and being told it was declined I called my bank. My bank assured me there is no reason why my card should be getting declined so I call speak with another rep. We temp several more times to make this $10 payment which will not go through now I've sold seven dollars of the things on eBay and this PayPal account is linked to my eBay why PayPal wouldn't receive the money sent from the buyer deduct our $10 and let me go on about my business is beyond me so I speak with a fourth or fifth representative for PayPal and she recommends me going to get a prepaid PayPal card to paySo I go buy a prepaid PayPal card to pay the balance now the new representing know I'm speaking with number six I believe Informs me that PayPal doesn't take payments by debit credit or any cards of that sort to resolve unpaid balances after six other reps five other Representatives try to take a payment having no knowledge of this whatsoever being new policy so she then tells me or direct me that I will need to find a friend with a PayPal account to call them about my matter and try to get them to transfer money into my locked account because they have to do it over the phone or to create a new account to make that payment so I create a new account my bank account is linked with the locked account so I cannot link my bank account with my new account but I can't send money or add to my balance without a bank account that's linked in has been confirmed through two deposits and one with drawl transaction amounts so here I sit several hundred dollars in my account for stuff that I've sold on eBay with a $10 balance did the PayPal that I can't resolve so then I'm directed to mail my $10 payment to PayPal what an absolute joke a absolute mess and extremely ridiculous being a longtime member keeping my account in good standing having done several thousand dollars for the transactions I can't tell you how disappointed aggravated and how much time this organization has wasted of mine on my Saturday when I should be inEnjoying every minute of this beautiful Saturday with my three-year-old son PayPal you are absolute joke to not be able to pay a $10 balance for so not to be able to override that whatever the case such a simple simple simple thing is just crazy I do think about how much time they've wasted of mine today and how much time they paid the six representatives that couldn't handle a simple simple task makes me wonder if I'd ever want them handling the logistics of my finances or managing my finances at any point in time

PayPal Re: Refunds!

PayPal has repeatedly sided with businesses that have conned me out of my money stating they will be supplying a product or a service and then not providing them to me.

I recently paid $1,100.00 for a Women’s Retreat experience that was in Brookings, Oregon. It was a 15 hour drive there from where I live. The start date was Jan. 2, 2022 meeting at 3 pm. This is when I was led to believe more people would be arriving and picked up keys to a cabin that had not been cleaned and smelled like skunk weed.

At 5 pm I met back with the host who invited me to sit with her to drink from a pitcher of water. She asked if I was comfortable with her removing her mask and I responded, “Don’t you need to, so you can drink water with me?” She informed me she was getting over a bronchitis, but had her two vaccines and a booster. She then removed her mask and I could hear a deep cough, which she indicated I might here. I told her I did not want to get C-19 nor Bronchitis, and pushed my chair back distancing from her about 4 feet. The lady that joined us I learned was one of her close friends who showed up to give her support. Basically, there were no other ladies at the Retreat that paid, just me! After dinner I headed to the cabin and that is a story in itself, I turned in my cabin key and stayed in a hotel.

The itinerary had been written out by the hour for each day of the retreat and it states you can join us for any of the things listed or not, that is up to you, since the retreat is for your relaxation and enjoyment. Jan. 3, there had been a power outage that occurred at 4 am for the whole area of Brookings with power coming back on around 11 am. I arrived back at the restaurant around 11:30 am hoping to join the 12:30 pm scheduled lunch to discover she had closed her restaurant. I called her number and no one answered, so I left a voice message and then a written message and still no response. Prior to the retreat this woman had been responsive, but once there she later claimed that she never got my messages or didn’t see them right away. I sent her a message at 12:40 pm that I was going to grab a lunch, since she was not responding. The lunch was suppose to be included in the retreat purchase. She denied me!

Around 1 pm the host calls me as I am pulling up to a cafe in the downtown area of Brookings and instead of being a caring professional she was curt and nasty stating “We lost our morning, so I left with my friend for a hike. I do not want to lose any more of my day trying to get a Covid test, so I do not think this is working for us! I can not give you any value or benefit and think we need to cancel! By the way, the monies paid are Non Refundable! I responded “I was not thinking that way…” She stated I’ll be doing a deep breathing yoga class at 6 pm you can come to that! I told her directly on the call your schedule had scheduled lunch at 12:30 pm and then a hike afterwards. You chose to skip the lunch and go on a hike with your friend. I already told you I will not go to a yoga where we are in an enclosed space doing deep breathing unless you can show a negative Covid test. She respond “No, I will not do that and am losing time now, so going now!” That was the last time I had communications with this woman.

PayPal has sided with this host stating that she rendered services that I turned down, so this woman got to pocket $1,100.00 for actually not doing her job as a host of a retreat. She had a full week in which to get a Covid-19 test prior to my arrival, but she didn’t and never considered me. However, I got one just before my 15 hour drive to her and mine was negative, so I was considerate of her and anyone else that would be attending the retreat. What I received for $1,100.00 was a basic dinner salad, veggie lasagna and a welcome canvas bag with gifts such as shower brush, shower sponge, note book about a $40.00 value.

PayPal Due diligence and Perseverance

Proves futile amongst subjective assassins driven by primary objective to steer clear of any logically tried and proven methods of problem resolution. Next my come off as an opinion though I assure you It is 100% factually correct and accurate. If at any time for any reason or for no reason at all a shopper hits a snag during checkout, PayPal will freeze and hold any Checking, Savings, ATM and/or Debit type account in the hopes that by the time said issue is resolved that you will have simply forgotten about the issue and they will proceed to process funds from the initial transaction and spinelessly initiate a 2nd transaction in order to double bill you. My most recent (and last) nightmare with PayPal (I will never purchase through them again) I participated in and auction for an E bike I won that auction I immediately attempted to pay for my item and PayPal had put a hold on my car I thought that that was unusual so I called my credit union and they assured me that the card was fine had sufficient funds and was ready to be used I then called PayPal and said you’re mistaken my card is absolutely good and has twice what’s needed as far as sufficient funds Are concerned. I then proceeded to contact my credit union via three-way to put a representative on the line to reiterate to the customer service agent at PayPal the same that I had attempted to convey to PayPal as soon as my credit union representative spoke the words our client Joshua Clark has sufficient funds to complete this transaction and our records indicate that the card he is using is not expired and has no restrictions PayPal immediately dismissed this testimony and stated that they were going to need photocopies of my drivers license, Social Security card , recent check stub from my employer, and a photo copy of my most recent bank statement and or credit card statement (and this part is hilarious) The statement I provide would be required to indicate the failed attempt to use the card for my eBay purchase at this point but West County credit union customer service agent but it in interrupting oh this is ridiculous mr. Clark hang up the phone right now we’re not on the phone with PayPal this there’s no way that these are PayPal representatives unfortunately I had to tell him that these were the same PayPal representative that we have been dealing with day in and day out for the last 10 days with no resolve at this point The seller cancel the transaction ding in my record for failure to pay to payIn this next part is the type of situation where is litigation is sought on principle alone when it happens to someone standing in a little more financial light than myself. At some point during that night before I woke up the next morning and after the seller head back all the way out of this deal PayPal ran the charges on my card for an item not coming to me and for funds which would never reach the seller. In my opinion Pay Pal has absolutely committed FRAUD here and I find it curious that only pay has documentation of how this fiasco played out. They allegedly have documentation indicating that my credit union not them and not eBay put the hold on my card which I have already confirmed and verified is absolutely false they also Allegedly have documentation of the item been shipped to me which the seller has been more than cooperative and helping me clear my name for the non-payment and otherwise. Now they’re trying to circumvent me and withdraw the funds from my bank account telling my bank is for a transaction for which I have already been deliveredLuckily my bank will not be delivering funds to PayPal anytime in and your future without handwritten signatures and two party wittnesses. It’s time for us to all band together and simply stop using PayPal if 10 people here till 10 people and they Tilton people and they told him people and they told him people PayPal no longer be a thing by the start of next week thank you and good luck

PayPal Worst customer service company ever

PayPal made a mistake my account months and instead of admitting it and correcting it, they chose to penalize my wife and I with are accounts. The customer service and upper management kept taking my savings account out of my PayPal wallet. I have tried for months to get them to correct their mistake. Every time my wife and I call because we are in the PayPal system Yvan choose to answer the phone or not to. They have repeatedly discriminated against my wife and I because we are people of color. They talk extremely nasty to you when they do choose to answer our phone call. They will have a wait time of 30 minutes to a hour having you hold for a supervisor. After the supervisor never gets the phone to speak with you you can literally hear the supervisor telling the customer service person to hang up on us. Some times when you ask questions about why what and when they get extremely angry and the supervisor tells to to flag my account for fraud. I have literally jumped through hoops for the past 6 months to the point where I even had to send a copy of my drivers license and passport. I have passed the verification process with flying colors but they choose to discriminate us based on our skin color. Whenever they choose to answer the phone when you ask to many questions they either hang up on you or they don’t know anything they look at my file and I have been a loyal customer for years with a A+ rating with PayPal and the merchants were I shop. I have spent at least 15,000 dollars with PayPal and have never had a issue they don’t know why my account is flagged cause when they look at my account it is perfectly clean. They have made racist comments and statements to my wife and I. Whenever they choose to answer your call cause the department has caller id and also every call is recorded. They will have you wait so long your pressure will go up and when you speak to them your frustrated and upset because of their racist practices. So they will add my savings account back n my wallet i have to wait for them to make 2 small deposits under 50 cents I waited for a month 1 time and they never made the deposits now it’s a coincidence that they keep my checking account on my my credit cards on but they have took my savings account off at least 15 times. So when you call they fake apologize n put my savings account back n my wallet n so after 30 of nonsense you think everything is ok n no sooner than when you hang up they take it back off n you have to go through the harassment and bias and discrimination all over again. Sometimes I have my wife call cause I had a heart attack and I don’t need the stress n she will repeatedly call n customer service won’t pick up. N there is never any way to write or call cooperate head quarters and complain. I have never experienced such discrimination of my skin color like this from any company before. They take the situation as a joke and when they do answer the phone u can quietly hear the supervisor telling the agent what to do. N still to today April the 6th 2023 their still is nothing wrong with my account I pass the verification process n as soon as I sent a copy of my drivers license n they found out I was black it doesn’t matter how much I have spent with PayPal or how clean my file is by the way it’s squeaky clean they discriminate and harass the supervisors talk down to you n still they won’t resolve my complaint and charges against them for discrimination n racist practices against people of color. I am calling everyone to boycott and write to your county representative and write a complaint against PayPal. I have spoken to the ComplaintsBoard.com n Pennsylvania and getting a attorney to file charges of discrimination based on my skin color n my wife skin color and charges of racist practices against people of color. I’m currently n the process of speaking with the Philadelphia chapter of the naacp and calling for a nation wide boycott for discrimination racism and harassment against people of color.

PayPal The worst week, PLUS, of my life!

Don’t EVER make the mistake of doing any banking with a small child around, as I’d attempted to request a four month payment from a part time job, yet as I went to hit ‘request’, my daughter hit my elbow, hence the small, two button option to request or send, ended up sending my fat thumb onto slightly more of the ‘send’, then ‘request’…hence causing a near panic attack as it’d been over four months, so a pretty low checking account with a dire need for the funds…as my daughter’s birthday was the following week.
I’d written as many letters and notices as allowed by app to alert to the mistake, and quite honestly didn’t think of again, assuming basic customer service would get to the minutia.
Low and behold, as my boss pays me through Zelle, ONLY THEN, once the balance was great enough to then send to my boss, PayPal goes ahead and sends anyway. I didn’t even find out for two days, as ALL my prior week’s backing continues to bounce and pile up.
It was while downtown, last minute shopping for the birthday party, that I found myself shocked out of my boots, at not only a zero available balance, but over $500 in the red! My worst nightmare and something I haven’t gone in the decades since college!
Yet to get through to ANYONE who cared; to get an answer besides the 5-8business days required to process the immediate return of funds from my boss! So natch, the 5-8 business days turned into two weekends being absolutely broke beyond even the $20 min to take out of account; family sent a few checks to help out during that time, but was so far over drawn that to deposit meant it’d only go straight to that, instead of giving us sone cash for the week.
My phone bill was due & nearly suspended! It all snowballed the entire week; couldn’t eat or hardly sleep…at my age, to be in such a dire situation was completely humiliating, and it didn’t matter who I tried speaking with At PayPal or who I wrote: same answer every time. So instead of a happy week right before her party, I was stressed beyond explanation and unable to concentrate on a thing, so frustrated by the ‘powers that be’, or the blanket policies at this now massive company, that prevent human or specific circumstance that dictate a need for change in policy. And as one who also lives in San Francisco, around the corner from their headquarters; classmates of my daughter who work in the higher positions: no matter. They’ve helped contribute, as one of the bigger companies that have destroyed our once great City, and completely ruined, thus robbed, over a week of what was to be special celebration. My ulcer flared up and is still healing, thus losing almost 10lbs over it as well.
Yet again, no one ANYWHERE in their massive group, where this amount of money means nothing…yet like banks, hence why I’m with a credit union, they’re big enough to just arbitrarily keep our money as long as they’d like, when transfers had all been done and taken care of the second the trouble was tracked down. I honestly thought someone had broken into my account and stole all funds.

Oh yeah, that IS what happened…but under the guise of their business policies…never again! Goodbye and good riddance. There’s a reason that it’s so rare to find another who’ll even use it anymore! I used to find it so frustrating that the rest of my friends & associates had moved on to other apps, like Zelle, but I sure found out the hard way why….(!).
If you value having any control over your funds, or expect decent company policies that occasionally don’t fit into the exact norm of said policies, but rather only serve their bottom line, no respect or regard to the over draft or negative ramifications on the banking account linked to then, well, be you’ve been warned. I’m still trying to get the ulcer back down, and my daughter’s party still happened, as I’d taken care of the deposit prior to this fiasco, but yeah. The party favor bags, or last minute gifts, forget about. Sure, to that degree, ‘first world problems’. But the rest, the banking and personal toll; no real dollar amount to attach to that!

PayPal They have changed

For almost one year I enjoyed the best fiat transferring service that I have ever seeing all of their involved with. After the pandemic hit. Customer service became really bad. Due to underlying health condition I have been in isolation for seven months. I have been sending my son between 750 and $850 around the third or fourth of each month to get my bills paid, my food bought and my medication for the next month. Somebody flagged me as a bad participant i.e. money launderer? And threw a 24 hour. Would do Kroul, very mentally cruel messages to me while I am suffering from not having medication and eventually passed out from not having any food. The representative accuse me of having to accounts and asked me to stop bothering her to go get my money out of another account? So I had to contact my bank and they let me know that PayPal I received my two days ago.But then getting a hold of the
customer service rep she told me that instead of holding it until the sixth of the month. That now she’s going to hold it until the 11th. For a day my card was deactivated and there was no way to get a hold of customer service as they put some code in that when I clicked on it it blocked or something else. So I couldn’t pay my rent and I have a apartment manager that may be her elevator doesn’t go all the way up I’m not sure? But she stuck in eviction notice on my door! So yesterday morning after I come back home from the hospital they put fluids in me get some food in me. Do you hydrated has really affected my disease. There was a message that was a nice message but it was cynical as they were accusing me of being the reason that it was not an instant payment as it has been for the last seven months. Something called an E check but I cannot figure out how to find out how I could send one again if it was my fault? But there are no instructions and BBVA compass said it’s the fastest form of payment which makes me think of XRP that there is a Paypal tells me is the slowest one and it’s my fault. I am actually hurt! Not only physically from passing out. But from PayPal going back on everything that they promised me that they delivered until I decided that I had two accounts and I was sending money from one to the other not thinking my son had the same name as me. Even though I repeatedly told them that I am lucky and I live in America I don’t think I had ever went over 36 hours without food?! But I have now as my card would not work the seven different attempts I made it to get food. Be careful don’t count on them as your only source for money. And they made that suggestion to me after that’s what they had initially sold me on was our card I’ll take care of everything with a link it to your bank and you never have to worry at all! And as I said they were spot on but continue to get worse through this pandemic and then yesterday excuse me two days ago it was a twilight episode I’m sure some of these words and sentences are not correct as I have not received all my vision back yet I am talking into the phone. Be careful people somethings wrong I will be putting all the messages out on Twitter it’s @Crypto 504. Everybody please be careful and take something like a review that is different than most of the reviews but very recent I will be getting with Apple Monday. As I’m letting Compas and a government agency look into that Americans with disabilities act that PayPal 100% violating with several federal charges. If you’re hyper closing make our blood sugar or anything be careful! I was lucky to have lived. Because I don’t remember passing out just breaking my nose in the blood that woke up in. I love her disability apartment so I was able to get to one of the emergency strains. It was the most humiliating night of my life! But hospital for never taste so good! Be careful people things are different! I have ran a major corporation and this shows possible signs of financial trouble and I know they just reported earnings so I’m going to look into it. I can’t believe how bad they treated me. It was a great company I am so disappointed as I have to find somebody else to connect with the bank because we all know being so bad I wonder if maybe PayPal has hooked up with a bank?

PayPal Worst customer service of my entire life, hands-down. Absolutely unacceptable

My PayPal account has been locked for roughly 6 months now, if not more and I have yet to be given a satisfactory answer as to why. I have had this account for more than a decade, this was the primary account I used for my independent interior design and home staging business and was running upwards of $50,000 per year through this account easily. I never had a single issue, and out of nowhere I was told one day that my account was locked and I needed to do 12 different steps to verify it… Of which I completed all 12... And still cannot get access to withdraw the $500 that PayPal has seized and stolen from me for over half a year now.

I have attempted to call customer service more times than I could possibly count and I cannot ever get through to a human being no matter how many hours I sit on hold. I have sent the messages on their secure message portal, I have emailed them, I have messaged them on social media, I have asked repeatedly to have this issue fixed, I have begged and pleaded, I have chatted with them, I have done everything aside from drive to the PayPal corporate headquarters myself in person. I’ve uploaded copies of my passport, my tax information, my drivers license front and back, I’ve answered security questions, I verified debit cards, I have done everything short of creating an actual miracle myself and they still will not grant me access to my own account which is very clearly mine… Even though I have passed every outrageous security test and check that they have given me since day one.

So for over six months now I have had $500 tied up in this account that I can’t access. My own money that I deposited into my own PayPal account and they now refuse to release to me no matter what I do.. It is impossible to get a human being on the phone. They continually ask me to verify the two cards on my account that are either expired or that were stolen in an identity theft scam and are now closed, both of which are completely useless BUT I can still verify every piece of information on the card including the number, the expiration date, the CVV code, the billing ZIP Code, the issuing bank… Absolutely anything and everything they asked for… But because the cards no longer work… PayPal won’t accept them! Yet they won’t verify my account and release the funds without these two cards! It’s the most absurd ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life. They tell me I have to verify the cards… I do so… Then they tell me that they can’t accept them because they’re expired or because they’ve been closed down because of fraudulent activity! What difference does it make? If I verified all of the information on the cards Plus the ridiculous amount of information PayPal has requested, which I have submitted to a T without a fault… Then I should be granted access to my account. I can’t help that I was part of an identity theft scam… I should not be penalized because I had my identity stolen away from me. That is the most absurd ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

At this point I am so beyond furious I’ve contacted an attorney because I don’t know what else to do to get this $500 that I deposited into that account that I simply went back.

This absurdity has going on long enough. How am I supposed to verify two card that cannot be charged? Nobody can seem to give me that answer. I have verified literally everything else on the account: Like all of my security questions, my password, my email, the street I lived on when I was three years old, my mothers maiden name, the first concert I attended, etc. I can answer without hesitation…But because PayPal can’t charge a verification amount to my expired or stolen credit card, I am not allowed to access $500 that’s been stolen from me by PayPal at this point? I have tried every method I can possibly think of to reach an actual human being and it is impossible. Every other verification item they’ve asked for, every piece of identification, every password, every piece of sensitive information, every single thing they have requested of me, I have delivered to them. I have a police report showing identity theft, I have three credit report showing that I have identity theft alerts, I have statements from my bank, I have statements from my various credit cards and I have spent hundreds of hours working on getting this money and cannot get it no matter what I do or how hard I try. In the end it wasn’t the identity thieves that hurt me in this situation. They took a total of maybe $20 out of my PayPal account… It’s PayPal that has been the real criminal in this entire scenario. They have taken over $500 for me without just cause and refuse to return it no matter how many times I requested. At this point it’s theft. Six months they have held this money hostage and refused to release it to me? PayPal has, by far, cost far more issues and problems and loss of money for me then the thieves that stole my identity. I have no choice but to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com, and attorney, and anyone and everyone else that will listen while I scream as loudly and as widely as humanly possible about this ridiculous injustice.

I have exhausted every option humanly possible and cannot get these people that are supposed to be here to help me at PayPal, to help me! All I want is my money back! Then I will never use this service as long as I live ever again for the rest of my life! When my husband and I first started our business we were running 30,000 and $40,000 a year in transaction through PayPal… Now I wouldn’t use PayPal if my life depended on it for anything! Our business runs through cash app, Venmo, chase bank and Zelle exclusively now. Never again will I use PayPal as a service to run my business. If you do so, you will come to regret it I assure you. Run as far and as fast as you can from this horrible, deplorable, awful business model and company.

PayPal Game Changer Always Improving

I setup the PayPal prepaid debit MasterCard first for the sole ability to pool money with 3 friends to buy concert tickets for all 4 of us in a single online transaction. That was the only way that we could get 4 seats together, split the cost of a hotel and avoid the issue of one of the 4 of us having to buy all 4 tickets and/or a couple hotel rooms on a single one of our personal credit/debit cards and then have to go collect the money from the other 3 people to pay them back. It is a lot for one person to cover a concert now when the tickets cost can cost at least $200/each.
After that, I found the additional benefits of being able to use the PayPal App to cash checks using my iPhone camera. The simplicity of transferring money from my PayPal balance to my other bank account or debit card makes it super easy as well as using the app to setup a payment method that will use the balance from my PayPal cash account first and then draw down any additional funds needed to cover the cost of a transaction or purchase, made with my PayPal debit MasterCard, automatically from my other linked debit card or bank account. It works instantly with a purchase at a store using my PayPal debit card even with no balance, still goes through and is approved by taking the money from another account so I don’t need to carry the other card or checks.
With my own business the detail kept of all transaction records is made easy because the app is easy to use for looking at all activity on the account including money in, and money out for debit purchases or crediting a refund. Talking to a customer service representative or reporting a problem with a transaction is not an App feature but the experiences I have had with the support team have all been positive. I have needed help with transactions made by fraudulent companies, being charged twice for the same transaction by a vendor and transactions that have been pending for way too long. All three cases were resolved satisfactorily within a reasonable amount of time. You do need to go through the “full website” in your browser to use the help section for reporting issues and contacting a support representative is NOT part of the app, however I have been impressed by the support provided every time I have been in contact with customer service.
From experience, This 1 thing to remember will make your life easier and your experience with PayPal so much better... THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH USING THE PAYPAL DEBIT CARD IS WHEN THERE IS A “HOLD” PUT ON THE ACCOUNT SUCH AS WHEN PICKING UP A RENTAL CAR OR CHECKING INTO A HOTEL ROOM THEY PUT A “HOLD” ON THE CARD FOR INCIDENTALS LIKE A DEPOSIT.
These transactions can be problematic with the way PayPal currently works because often times the transaction looks like a charge for $200 and then there’s no deposit of $200 when you check out or return your rental car and the company has released your money right away. In PayPal it is not a credit back to the account or a deposit for the amount charged. Instead it is a stop payment on a pending transaction which means that depending on the vendor a charge for something like this can remain pending for over a month after the hold on the account is released. So for a $200 deposit or hold placed on the PayPal debit MasterCard, that $200 will be charged immediately and is not available again in the PayPal account until PayPal collects the payments in a batch of transactions made with the company (Hertz or Priceline.com). PayPal will finally see that the charge is not being collected by the vendor as a payment and the transaction can be canceled releasing hold on the pending funds. Customer service did help a lot and were able to explain how everything works even if they couldn’t fix the issue right away. I was very pleased with the service but it took far too long for the funds to become available again after working with PayPal, the rental car company and the hotel which I made the transaction with. So DON’T USE PAYPAL FOR ANY HOLDS, REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS OR TEMPORARY HOLDS ON FUNDS FOR INCIDENTALS unless you can afford to not get that money back for at least a month. Just use a credit card.
I have started using the app feature that generates a hyperlink and/or a personalized and smartphone scannable QR Code, that I can copy and paste into a message on Facebook messenger, text message, or email as a link for them to make a direct payment to me in a New York minute. That expanded the options for customers to make payments to me with a credit card or their debit card as well as their own PayPal account. I can accept a credit card payment for gigs as an independent contractor or for the transfer of large deposits from clients to hold/book studio time for upcoming projects without waiting for a personal or company check to be sent, deposited and for all funds to clear and become available for use in purchasing the materials for the client’s project before billing them at the end of the sessions. I can let clients pay me as an independent contractor using their credit/debit card or cards by simply sending them the link generated in the app.
Between the ability to start accepting credit/debit card payments, the code generator for loading cash at a Walmart to my PayPal prepaid debit MasterCard, the flexible options for payment methods with subscriptions and in-app transactions using a bank account and/or debit card that is/are linked to make it really easy transfer to and from the other bank account/debit card, this app is AWESOME!
Cashing all kinds of checks with my iPhone camera via the PayPal app is something I use all the time and has gotten a lot better since its first release of the feature. Now it is easy and fast to deposit and have the funds immediately available to withdraw or make purchases with. Personal checks, business checks that are written out by hand and government checks didn’t go through with PayPal but now they all do no problem.

PayPal Fraud & Misidentification/Identity Theft

Please note two screenshots of a received email and from what source that claims falsely that I:

Ordered item(s) from them, an alleged company utilizing the name "Grey Sun Armory", utilizing the email address [protected]@gmail.com to inform me that they processed a payment through Pay Pal on an account I do not have (to my knowledge.

I previously informed that same source I never ordered anything, further, since I know of no working paypal account in my name, there was no reason to dispute any alleged money transaction because I do not have such an account. However, since this alleged account is alleged to be in my name, that a case of identity theft or misidentification has occurred.

Please contact me at [edited] for anything further.

Please Research,

Steven S Silvers

Steven S Silvers

Desired outcome: I wish the user of email address [protected]@gmail.com identified and to know what, if any, Pay Pal account(s) exist/existed/alleged to exist(ed) in the name of STEVEN SCOTT SILVERS with date of birth 06/20/1968.

PayPal Great service but if you have a security issue, good luck!

Was sent money in an emergency and was locked out of the account as soon as I tried using the funds. They requested three forms of verification of my identity(not a problem) and to wait no longer than 72 hours or 3 business days to get the account unlocked. Here I am 12 days later and they claim the account is still locked and should go to a Walmart to withdraw the money. No luck there and it locked me out of all features of the app. Called back and they said they don’t know why the account is locked and I should “try to transfer or withdrawal funds in a few days”. Customer service was nice but had no idea how to help. Was finally able to TRANSFER THE MONEY BACK TO THE PERSON WHO SENT IT! Yay! PayPal wasn’t able to steal my money! Smoothest part about PayPal was closing the account! Took less than a minute on the phone! Seriously people, there are a half dozen apps that do exactly what this one does without fees or costs and the hassle o dealing with a customer service line 10,000 miles away with no way to access your account or help in any way but tell you to try in a few days. And to PayPal personally...since your emails seem to be robo generated, you completely screwed my family over the last two weeks. My wife and I ate one meal a day for a week to get by until we were sent money again. I called you over a dozen times and you couldn’t do anything but hold up the account even after verifying my identity on multiple occasions. SHAME ON YOU!

PayPal Doesn’t work on iPad

it is 5/15 and i still have same login/profile issues that i reported on 3/7. PP doesn’t seem to care with multitudes of complaints with the app… i’ve been a user of PP since 2005. Ive been using the app since it became available, and have been a frequent user. But ever since one of the recent updates in 2/2022, I cannot log into PP using this app on my iPad. After login, it just goes to an error screen, “Something This happens sometimes - check back soon or try the (shows greyed out PP logo) Try Again” and will not let me log in. the error page is clearly broken as well, since its appears to be displaying a template using placeholder error message texts because the phrase makes no sense (if I didn’t know any better,I would think this is a spoofed app due to displaying incorrect grammar and broken English typically exhibited by scammers and phish emails). I can log in via web site no problem so I have the correct password, etc. I tried removing the app, then installing. rebooted my iPad few times. Same error message. I installed an update that came out 2 days ago on 3/7 hoping they have corrected this. Nope. tried removing the app and reinstalling too, but still not working. I’m actually surprised that I can findonly one other reporting this problem. This is beyond frustrating. PAYPAL GO FIX THIS! if this is not fixed soon, I will start removing my recurring payments, etc off of PP since its not secure if i have to type a password every time via web site since if I’m on the road, it is not safe to log in on an unsecure WiFi via web browser.

PayPal Unsafe and Untrustworthy

Big round of applause to whoever thought that everyone you send money to should be able to see the name on your ID rather than any name you’ve chosen to be called, and that these people should also get your email too. Don’t use this if you’re trans I guess.

Additionally, the “customer service” is incredibly unhelpful. After getting through the machine that’s only purpose is to recommend articles that were already on the FAQ page, I was given the advice to change the name through settings (which did not work and no matter how many times I attempted to change my name paypal continuously ignored the change and continued using the previous name for everything. No attempts were made to reach out for confirmation of the name change, no requests were made for additional info) or to “just delete the account and make a new one.” I would love to, if I were allowed to delete my account at all. Instead, without any attempt at reaching out to confirm my identity, no emails, no requests for verification, I was told simply “We cannot confirm it’s you.” I am currently in contact with my bank to attempt to work through them to get my account removed from their database, as they seem unwilling to do so themselves. I wouldn’t call paypal a scam, but knowing that I’m able to transfer money through Zelle via my bank account with no added charge, I’m left without a better word. After all, what else would you call a program that charges you money for a service you don’t need and then refuses to let you leave, taking all your personal data for itself? Certainly not an honest business.

PayPal Changed for the worse

Update: I’m pretty sure this message was responded to, but the info was not helpful. I just got off the phone with PayPal because I got tired of them taking money out again. (My roommates send rent money to me and I pay the total) it had happened a few times before but I find PayPal customer service cumbersome so I didn’t call. This time I told the rep the situation and she proceeded to tell me about the “goods and services” button. I told her it doesn’t always show up and people don’t always get to make the choice. She suggested that I not use the app. Essentially saying that the app doesn’t work... she also said that if I send a request for money, it’s counted as a business transaction. So that screws me for trying to be helpful/organized. Finally, she said there was unfortunately “no way” that PayPal could refund the ill-gotten fee. Which is clearly false, although SHE may not have had that authority. So yeah, basically, unless you’re ok with some risk and headache. Don’t use this app, use Venmo? Even though they’re owned by the same company.

Previous Review:
It consistently works that’s great. I’d have given it a 3-5 star rating last week. But for some reason they constantly take money out as if I’m being paid for a job. For regular thinks when friends and I are collecting funds like rent and stuff. A lot of the time it’s not clear when they will and it seems to almost be arbitrary so I can’t fix the problem. And now they changed the way money is sent to my bank - so it takes longer. As of this month I’m kinda looking for another place to store and send money.

PayPal The Absolute Worst Experience

I’ve never had a more difficult time accessing funds. If PayPal’s core business is to facilitate simple and convenient financial transactions, it is failing miserably.
1. I’ve attempted at least 80-100 times to transfer the funds in my wallet to my linked debit card or checking account and it’s only worked once. I will get completely random automated responses; “Something’s Not Right”, “We can’t process this transaction right now”, “We can’t verify this transaction”, “The system is not available”. Blah blah blah.
2. PayPal will notify you of a 24 hour hold to verify and when you agree, it changes to a 72 hour hold. The period will then expire and nothin happens. I mean absolutely nothing. No response as to what happened, no transfer, no denial of the request.
3. Customer service is zero help. They will actually tell you that there’s nothing they can do. What ? A customer service department that can’t fix your problems or actually provide the service when the system can’t. It’s mind boggling. How is this company allowed to operate ?
4. It’s extremely hard to even get a hold of a real person if you’re having issues. The phone system will just hang up on you by the way. That’s fun.
5. It’s been ten days and I’ve still not been able to access my funds through the app or website. There’s no recourse either. I have no way and I mean no way to get access to my funds and I think that’s PayPals profit strategy. They will hold your funds as long as possible so that they can invest your money in liquid assets. No kidding people, do not use this app or PayPal. You’ve been warned.

PayPal DO NOT USE THIS APP!

This is by far the worst mobile paying app you could possibly use!I have had one bad review the whole time I’ve used PayPal I was selling some Yu-Gi-Oh cards to someone and they paid for shipping I bought the exact packaging they asked me to I packaged it up the exact way they wanted me to I even did a little bit extra some of the cards had got bent during shipping. The customer wanted a refund I did not give him the refund because he paid for shipping he could have paid for a better package he could have paid for fragile shipping but he did not I did exactly what he asked me to and he wrote PayPal and next day I go to get on my account because I have a lot of money in my PayPal account and come to find out PayPal disabled my account to where I couldn’t use it nor get my money out! They didn’t ask me my side of the story they didn’t ask me anything they just went ahead and froze my account and has completely!Disabled me from using PayPal I have had multiple problems with this app ever since I downloaded it you will have to wait days to get your money they only protect the buyers they do not protect the sellers they will put a hold on your money until the buyer receives the package I have had some buyers report that the package never got delivered but I sent the package had tracking and everything it said it was delivered and the buyer reported that it never showed up so I wrote PayPal and they did nothing! This app is a joke do not use this unless you want to throw money away! I’ve lost hundreds of dollars in sales and not to mention the money that is still frozen in my account

PayPal Unuseable

I've been on PayPal for close to a decade.

A couple of years ago they spontaneously deleted my account with no explanation and customer service was no help. I made a new account but it never allowed me to transfer money FROM PayPal to my bank account - again, customer service was no help - but everything else worked fine and I got around that by sending it to my sister and having her Venmo/CashApp me the money.

In the last couple of weeks they've denied transactions, then had me do a security login into my bank account except it didn't work - just had me type in my PayPal password and then sent me back to the home screen. I tried on mobile, browser, and PC. So now I can't use my bank account at all so I switched everything over to Venmo/CashApp.

I had a Doordash order that I paid via PayPal before realizing they blocked my bank account which they then randomly charged to a different card on my account instead of denying it or asking me to choose a different primary payment.

I have a monthly payment also via PayPal which I forgot about when switching everything to Venmo/CashApp and they again did the same thing, except they used a different card than last time and overdrew my secondary bank account - which I only found out about today (withdrawal was a week ago) because I got an overdraw letter from said bank account. Again, customer service is useless and insists it's my bank blocking the app, that PayPal doesn't do security checks - which already I know is false - but as I said, it's the PayPal app/website requiring the security check and, yes, I spoke with my bank.

Do better. I'm done.

PayPal Unauthorized activity

An unauthorized person has been using my account but PayPal says they don't see anything out of my usual pattern. That is the point this is not my usual pattern as the only transactions I have made on this account was an eBay purchase and some automatic payments for apps from Apple. I have large periods of time with no activity which is my usual then in the last 4-5 months lots of transactions sending large sums of money to numerous people. I am currently living on a SSI pension only and my IRA funds were stolen so I don't own the funds to send to anyone or pay all my bills at present. If you have been party to any transfers from or to me please make yourself known. I hope PAyPal can discover the person using my account then prosecute them. Since I rarely use PayPal Indid not become aware of this activity right away. Don't depend on PayPal to investigate thoroughly as they appear to only look at info from time period related to incident reported. Had they gone back a few months further they would have seen my usual pattern. Please close your account if you aren't using it and checking all activity. I lost $1,600 from my personal bank account. I even provided PAyPal with the information regarding the person I believe has been using my account. There is a long list of contacts on my page which I don't know. Surely they could check their transactions and see if they have ever sent anything to me before the current barrage of expensive transactions. Don't leave any of your bank or debit card information on file. If you aren't in need of this app I would certainly remove it from your computer! Avoid this app!

PayPal Great experience in the past, now seems corrupt

For many years, I regarded PayPal as the best way to transfer money - no fees, fast, trustworthy.
It seems to have changed owners and management recently. Now when I want to send a friend some money, it pretends he’s a business and shaves a hefty fee off of it, for the stated purpose that I can be certain that I can get a refund.
No, I wanted to send all of it to him, so he presses the buttons to refund me, and transfer it within the bank we both use. And a month or so of his re-initiating the refund, and finding that the problem might be that the money was only in his PayPal balance - he doesn’t actually have a bank account connected - PayPal finally delivers the refund.
At about that time, he’s able to repay me, and I make the mistake of requesting it by Venmo. It quickly shows up in my PayPal balance (correction, on my PayPal account - I no longer see a balance), and looks like it’s been fully delivered! But I want it in my bank account. I can find no option to transfer it within the app. (I wouldn’t be surprised if such an option does exist for everyone reading this, but it’s temporarily being hidden from me until they’ve had a chance to get some profit off of it.)
I looked at the PayPal website, and I see a Transfer Money button on the Dashboard page, but when I click it, it only refreshes the Dashboard page. They don’t want me to transfer the money yet, they want all the interest for a while.
The difference between this and past business I’ve done with PayPal may be that this is a few thousand dollars, and while smaller amounts are more common and bring less significant profit each, being slow on this is a lot of profit & only tortures a few people.

PayPal NOT GUARANTEED. SUPPORTS SCAMMERS

This is how business is run? I get completely scammed over a house. Sent me to a leading website to apply even so it’s not like it was an obvious scam I was heading towards. $6,667 was the initial. I paid $4,250 but somehow she managed to get $6,667 out of my account from me. I file a scam. Call PayPal. First representative told me I would have my money back within 48 hours. That was a lie. 48+ hours later, wasn’t back yet so I called and was informed that I was not only NOT getting my money back, but that basically I lost that money forever and “sorry. Better luck next time” filed a report with local police, FBI, cyber administration and the f.. something. Now, I get a text claiming my PayPal is restricted? I login and it says I OWE PAYPAL $3,500?! For the recovery of MY funds that were weaseled away from me? That’s cute. So basically, PayPal supports and backs scammers apparently. This is ridiculous. That was EVERYTHING i had. So now I’ve lost a grand total of $10,167 because of some lowlife, weasel of a scammer? While my kids and I continue to not only remain homeless but now to be set further back because of this whole situation taking literally everything I have? Does anybody have a soul anymore? It is despicable and so disgusting the way this company is run. Supporting thieves. Taking from once loyal customers to continue to feed the people that take advantage and steal others hard earned money. I am genuinely horrified that this big of a name, supports that kind of business. Do NOT use this app/card/account it is absolutely not guaranteed and they do not have your back and will NOT fight for you, unless of course you are a weasely thief. $10,000. Thanks for taking any shred of faith I had in any person or any company that I had left.

PayPal Worst money service. No customer service. Froze transaction

I first want to state that I have had a PayPal account as long as I can remember and it’s connected to my bank as well as other various money cards. So I have a transaction history I have purchased eBay Items received payments, and cashed checks. So I received a Payment of 700$ and needed to transfer it to an account I had a card with so I would be able to pull the cash out for a larger transaction that was time sensitive. As soon as I went to transfer the money out it asked me to do various steps of identity to prove it was me which I did no problem and then it said it would tell me in 5minutes If I would have to wait 72hours or not for them to decide if my transfer needs a hold or not. One way to assure this would not happen was to verify my identity which I did so why is my money now in limbo with no option but to wait or let it sit in the account I feel like PayPal just want to profit off my money being held and I’m at there mercy. I did everything they ask even said I was verified but still kept hold on in fact they never gave me the decision after the five minutes was up. I also signed up for money express account another way to speed up the hold but it requires a direct deposit to be set up and well frankly I don’t want them handling my money on a regular basis if this is how they do business. I since have talked to many people who also lived this annoys incident I’m told again and again so I’m glad I didn’t set up my direct deposit. I know my friend they held 10k of his money and still to this day they have it locked up and he logged in to prove it to me he has called and spoke to everyone and anyone verified his identity now they want him to go to a bank somewhere in Midwest I believe we live on east coast so that’s not a simple task but for ten grand he’s gonna have to do it. So stay away if you finished reading this I hope it helped and was worth your time.

PayPal Horrible Experience

PayPal has absolutely lost a customer after the last few months. First, another user changed their name in the system. The user had the same name as me, so PayPay changed my last name on my profile instead. I called customer service and after an hour, they finally admitted they messed up, but didn’t do anything to change it back and insisted I upload the appropriate documents to prove my identity. I uploaded the requested documents and after a few weeks PayPal it wasn’t sufficient that I needed additional documentation to prove my last name changed, even though it didn’t, they changed it for me! Long story short after being on another hour long phone call and demanding somebody fix it immediately, I finally found ONE sympathetic and apologetic person who changed my name back to the correct last name. Second, my tenants were attempting to pay their rent on PayPal. They would pay me, and a few days later PayPal would inform me that the payment was reversed because their bank was not compatible with PayPal. This happened three times with three different banks. The third time, it seemed to stick so I cashed out my PayPal into my bank. The same day I did that, PayPal reversed the transaction AGAIN and demanded I owed them the amount. So I tried to pay it. It went though on my bank and not on the PayPal portal. For some reason, I now I have 2 transactions for the same amount out of my bank account and PayPal portal has not acknowledged that AND my tenants attempted to pay me for a 4th time. So if my math checks out I should have double the amount of the rent in my PayPal balance, but as of now it is $0. I am hesitant to get back on a customer service call to remedy this since they are no help at all. I have had my PayPal account for several years now without any issues. I have no idea what changed lately, but since March , it has been the most frustrating technology I’ve ever dealt with.

PayPal Thieves

I’ve been running my business for 7 years. Mostly face to face transactions. Recently I was convinced by a client to sign up for PP so I gave it a try. I went thru the process of adding my bank account. The verification process wasn’t so smooth though. For some reason I kept getting an error. My email was correct and so was my banking information. A payment came in from a client but I wasn’t able to transfer it. I have an extremely busy lifestyle. I homeschool our children run a charity as well as have a full time job. Needless to say I left this issue in the back burner believing I could address when I had time to handle. A few weeks later I logged on and noticed PP refunded my client. I gave PP a call. After being on hold for 34 min then disconnected I called again to be on the phone with a rep for 43 mins. First I was told the reason was because they couldn’t verify my email, odd because I had been receiving emails from them. Then I was told it was because they couldn’t verify my bank account. Odd because while on the phone they had me download the app and process a second payment that had come in from another client a day prior. Those funds went thru. Well I wasn’t done. The. Finally I was told the reason they had refunded my other client was because the funds were in my PP acct longer then 30 days. So PP took it upon themselves to refund my client without asking for my authorization. They stole $88.00 from me. When I ask them to return my funds they said they couldn’t. I was was told I had to reach out on the platform where I sold the product and discuss the matter with them. So although PP was the hand that did the monetary exchange they are free of any fault in the matter. That’s like you bank getting robbed and the insurance not covering your funds but instead having you hunt down the robbers. As a courtesy PP emailed the client they also insisted I contact IC3.com. Of course no answer from the client. So now I’m out $176, the payment plus my product. Thank you so much PAY PAL for your trustworthy services.

PayPal Worst Payment Company -do not Use!

I was supposed to receive a payment for a 1 hour consulting gig, and the company used Paypal. What paypal did NOT make clear, they will
1- hold on to 100% of your funds for weeks! They do not ask you, they simply force a non-payment. They keep your money, acting as if they keep it as a loan to paypal.

The reasons they try to use, they want you to think they are doing you a favor.

Dumbest corporate policy I am aware of. I submitted a formal complaint to the California Attorney General as they also
2- take a whopping 4.5% of my earnings. i did not use their website for a marketplace, product to sell. A company used it to pay me for services. just a wire transfer equivalent.
3- paypal, knowing they will anger many to most customers that open an account, then give you a list of activities you can take, to get your money that they decided to keep for their cash flow purposes, and all of them make paypal MORE money, so you know none of their reasons are logical for the reasons they provide.
They hold your 100% funds hostage and then offer up ideas how to acquire find that belong to you! Never, ever, will I or anyone from my company do business with paypal. Never. Try to get a hold of their chat team, they tell you they may respond in days or weeks. Forget calling then, like texts, they never answer. Complete and utter failure.

Update- have tried to call paypal’s and they don’t answer their phone, on purpose, likely because they know they are cheating customers, and purposely hide the whopping 4.5% fee and the several week hold on my hard earned funds.
I have asked multiple time to escalate to supervisor, manager and director of the call center. Todays, they refuse.
i have repeatedly advise his near criminal-like paypay keeping my funds hostage is aweful corporate policy. Again and again, payola tells me, they are doing me a ‘favor’ by retaining my hard earned funds and that’s it’s common practice to keep 100% of my earnings ‘to protect me’. paypal mist assume their customers that access funds via the website are all very stupid!

PayPal PayPal is trash

If there was a way I could give zero stars or a negative star I would do so!

I’ve made multiple PayPal’s because either one I make too much money that PayPal thinks I’m a selling things I shouldn’t or I get 100 dollars one day and the next it’s 50 and it’s not the same as before and it doesn’t “seem right”. I make art and sell it to people throw PayPal, but I’ve never made my PayPal into a business account.

I’m 18 and I added my mother’s credit card to my account since PayPal started to act up for the third time and stop me from letting me transfer my money or spend it. My first time with PayPal my account got limited and it wouldn’t let me spend money or receive money and I had 780 in my PayPal and I would spend money almost everyday. On small items and it said after 180 days I’d get an email saying I’d get my money back, but I never did! It’s been 180 days and I still haven’t received an email to get my 780 back. Now my new account has 380 and it won’t let me spend it it’ll take it out of my card or my mother’s card now. I didn’t put my last name on my PayPal because I didn’t tho k it was important so I just put a the letter that’s in the beginning of my last name and now they won’t except any of my information and want me to send in a written claim that I’m not someone doing dirty business and there has been times where I’ve wanted to cuss out the person on the other line which shouldn’t be the case!

THEY HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Every time I call them it’s always someone with an accent that I can’t understand and they always talk over me and won’t let me speak. When I called three times for my account with the 780 they told me they could no longer help me with my account being limited and hung up on me which made me feel like they were stealing my money and now with my new account that has 380 they just talk over me and have me do all these stupid things to prove my identity! I was saving up for a laptop and I always have to restart because they always take and keep my money !

PAYPAL SHOULD BE DELETED AND TAKEN OFF APPLE STORE!

PayPal Horrific service I am switching to Google pay

I had a private transaction for $52, $40 for the product and $12 for shipping I was returning a $98 item that I had bought and I was willing to accept $40 for it because it did not Work but it was past the warranty time For eBay. The same company that sold me the defective ABS unit, offered to buy it back and I agreed, but then after they got it back they said that they didn’t like it and that it didn’t work. I told them that it didn’t work and I complain that they had sold it to me and it didn’t work. The seller said in an e-mail “I will accept $15. “ If you send me $15 but it will help cut my losses. But I did send the $15, I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t hear from the seller again until he put in a claim to PayPal for $52. Even though I gave PayPal all the emails that were exchanged, PayPal went into my account and took my money and refunded it to this dishonest seller without my permission. I am not as mad about the money as I am in mad about the fact that this person has been unjustly enriched at my expense, I am furious with PayPal customer service who I contacted several times and they assured me that they would review the emails and then he could not get more than he had originally stated it was worth. I am so angry with PayPal I am removing all my transactions off of their platform. Even though I won’t cancel my account in case of an emergency, I won’t be using PayPal for daily or ordinary invoices and Business receipts and AirBnB - I used to use it all the time. I will not deal with a company that is so biased and square headed. I was treated unfairly and I am very angry at PayPal. Also I do not like that helpless feeling that they can swoop in and take my money at anytime they want. This guy made his refund request almost 5 months after he received the part. If that was the case I should’ve gotten a refund from the first time when I discovered it was defective when I paid $98. PayPal has two sets of rules and I don’t like it. Be wary of PayPal because once they’re in your pocketbook they can do anything they want. I don’t like the
feeling of helplessness and loss of control.

PayPal PayPal Has Sewer Customer Service

I signed up for a free trial of Adobe with my Business PayPal debit card and canceled the service before the end of the free trial. I decided upon Genius Scan which I still love to date. Adobe erroneously charged me $32.16 for the monthly fee ahead of the free trial, which was deducted from my PayPal balance, at which point there was a zero balance, so my account went into the negative for same amount. The charge was not ever deducted from my “linked bank account.” I attempted to open a case and dispute it but kept receiving a system generated message that “this type of transaction couldn’t be disputed.” I tried to reach PayPal by phone - FAIL. By mail - FAIL. By Twitter - finally they responded but keep asking for a copy of the transaction with my bank. It doesn’t exist. PayPal now insists that the $32.16 can’t be refunded because they have no proof it didn’t deduct from my bank and chargeback. When I received a payment recently, the $32.16 was deducted from my balance. So, now PayPal has been unjustly enriched and I didn’t even use Adobe free trial for a full week of that trial, if that even mattered because the 30 day free trial was/is enforceable. I’ve given them legal notice. I’ll be filling all available complaints to get relief and remedy. || Update as of 01.05.23 I visited the link provided by PayPal developer but it lands on the Contact Us page which provides the same directions to open a case. The issue is NOT how to open a case for this unauthorized deduction. Instead, the issue is that the resolution is erroneous because PayPal’s response to my dispute was “after our review, we found that certain transactions weren’t unauthorized and hence couldn’t be covered by PayPal Purchase Protection.” A free trial is, of course, generally authorized. Continuation of service with Adobe was NOT EVER authorized. The case ID is PP-R-TQE-[protected]. Your system disallows reopening the case. This means that YOU need to “reopen” the case from end, albeit by escalation of your executive office or otherwise, and directly return my funds in the amount of $32.16 You have until January 25 to return the $32.16 to my account. Failure to do so will result in legal action, and I won’t hesitate to enlarge the complaint to a class action.

PayPal Authentication

I’ve been trying to send funds with PayPal I’ve authenticated email and phone # and yet will not let me send funds to an out of country email, I’ve contacted customer support and spoke to them above my situation the 1st lady I spoke to said I need to reauthenticate so I was sure, until it got to the questions part. The 1st question was inconclusive I have a father and a brother with the same name and I told the support tech this and asked if I can skip this question I was told no I had to answer even though I told her the question data is inaccurate and can have two separate answers so I answered regardless then after the questions were done she said I cannot authenticate my PayPal account thus losing me as a customer., she even agreed with me saying I did have a brother and a father with the same name (cust techs have public records access as told to me), so that’s 1 error with the security system. So I was told to try externally of PayPal to send funds but in my mind I was like aren’t you guys trying to keep me? So I ended that conversation right there. I called again realizing I should speak to someone else above the customer support or a supervisor and I got transferred to Rachel (cool chick) now she did provide more insight into this problem. I am out of country as well sending to out of country. She told me she sees the declines transactions that the internal security system needs time to verify that I am the account holder and I was agreeing to give the system a grace period to allow that to happen, then I asked what happens if it keeps on redeclining my transaction she told me I’ll just have to wait or just try externally of PayPal, so I asked whom overlooks the security system and she told me no one does that it is self regulating which I understand as well. So I ask who maintains it when updates need to be added manually she could not give me an answer as well so I ask for a supervisor that could have potentially more access to any out of workcenter agency that can help me with this. She told me she cannot that I will not get anywhere.

Updates I suggest
1. Review authentication process and allow several questions to be available since public records are accessible
2. Have a center that overlooks the security system that can provide further detail of denial.

Since I cannot be a customer of PayPal and I frequent online payments a lot since I travel often. I find this disappointing since I’ve heard great things from other account holders with PayPal., until this can be remedied I will continue to wait on the security system to redeny my account hopefully allowing access
