I receive an sms from my cellphone on the 28february2013. "congratulations!Your mobile number has won 150, 000 in the nokia global promo, ref no 0114. For claims contact mrs. Sonia owen on tel: [protected]. I phoned the number the lady named sonia answered by saying nokia contact centre. I askee for landline number for the contact centre, she gave me this number:[protected]. When I phone the number, the guy answered saying "nokia head office, how may we direct your cal". I quiry about sms I received then he asked for ref no, then further say I must phone sonia owen as shes the one who will activate my winning voucher. Soni further said to me in order for my cheque to be paid into bank or be couried to my address I must buy mtn airtime for r180, then phone her again to activate my winning. By the look of things I am not the only victim because she keeps asking my name and end up saying am I veronica. I am worried that people are been frauded by this sms scam.
I have received the same SMS in March 15, I reviewed all the E. Mails sent and I noticed that all of them were sent to arabic people.
I am sure that this freud action will affect the excellent reputation of the Nokia trusted Mark in the arabic world, and whatever the reaction of these misleaded persons it will be in no way good toward Nokia despite that I am strongly convinced that Nokia is not involved in this immoral action of stealing from innocent victims.
what I expect from Nokia is to take measures to hunt those thieves and put them behind bars where they belong to learn their lesson.
i also received such mail and continued to give them information untill they said they send te money to lagos nigeria, , (even i told them i 'am in lebanon), they claims that they can send them to lebanon by western union, i search the web i saw that many received the same mail (ranging from300000to 600000) i 'm sure it is true since no company is ready to distribute such amount especially in these international economic crisis.
ON MARCH 11, 2009, I RECEIVED A SMS THAT SAY: " NOKIA CELEBRATE 40YRS, YOUR NUMBER HAS WON 600.000 POUNDS IN THE NOKIA AWARD.CLAIM CODE :...? TO CLAIM E-MAIL AT NOKIAYRS40@LIVE.COM SO PLEASE IF U CAN CONFIRM US WHETHER IT'S TRUE OR FALSE .
ON MARCH 9, 2009, I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM NOKIA INTERNATIONAL INFORMING ME THAT I WON 600, 000 POUNDS AS A RESULT OF NOKIA'S CELEBRATIONS IT'S 40 YRS. OF SERVICES .THEY ARE ASKING ME TO PROVIDE THEM WITH A PERSONAL DETAILS. I'M DOUBTFUL OF THIS CLAIM EVEN THOUGH IT'S FROM NOKIA INTERNATIONAL . I CHECKED THEIR WEBSITE AND HAVEN'T FOUND ANY INFORMATION THAT TREATS MY DOUBTS.
PLS. CONFIRM WHETHER IT'S TRUE OR FALSE .

Be careful people, don't fall for this!
1 - Check when Nokia was founded: 1865 . Certainly not 40 years
2 - Don't you find odd that a company such a Nokia uses a free email service such as "live.com" ?
3- Check Nokia's websites everywhere, there is no mention of such a prize. Why would they give such a prize and keep it secret?
I just wonder what the scam is trying to achieve.

I was received this sms too how I can prove this I want to contact nokia UK international can you help me. I want to now I am a victim? I was transfer money for that. This is an internet hacker! They give me documents using nokia signatures for this award and they are using western union too. They are joking with me, but how? I was receiving prove using nokia name and western union. They make me like a stupid! I was pay money for that where this money go? How I can arrived to nokia UK international to stop this illegal people I have there phones numbers, there names and all the documents I received I can give it to nokia.
