MC Construction, Mike and the crew did an amazin job on our house. We did our kitchen and 2 bathrooms with them. They showed up on time and constantly updated us on schedules. We wanted to leave a review for them because we feel that they truly care about their customers and they made very very happy. Will definitely use them again and recommend them to family and friends. This might be a bit long. We met with Michael from MC Construction in June . We saw their local ad with a coupon that included molding with the purchase of the floor. It was a big project for us. Michael said MC Construction would remove our old wood flooring. They were a family-owned business and had a good reputation. Michael recommended vinyl flooring, saying it was modern, easy to maintain, and would last a long time. The quoted price of $13,000 included the discount, but the agreement didn't show the breakdown or how it was applied. Michael just said it was included. We kept our existing molding in the living room, dining room, and family room, so we didn't have to pay extra for those rooms. We set a date, and halfway through removing the old flooring, Michael told us it was harder to remove than they thought. They suggested floating cement on the section where the old floor was removed and covering the rest with vinyl flooring. They assured us it would work and no one would notice. During the process, Michael asked us several times to give him a good review, even after the initial flooring was done. We agreed but wanted to wait a week to make sure there were no issues. Within the first week, the floor started popping up between two rooms. We contacted Michael about the problem through text and calls. His team came and cut the edges of the flooring near the wall, thinking it was too close and causing the issue. We were told to wait another week. After a week, we noticed more areas popping up, creating a tripping hazard. We sent pictures and even videos to Michael. We had to constantly follow up with him because he didn't keep us informed. He said the flooring was back-ordered and would take time to arrive and clear customs. Finally, at the end of August, he sent the installation team back. They discovered that the existing wood floor was causing the problem. MC Construction is supposed to be the flooring experts, not us! If they had removed the wood floor as agreed in June, there wouldn't have been any issues. So, they had to remove the floor again. We're in our mid-60s and had to live in chaos for over a month. Nowhere to eat or sit, except the bedroom. We had to scrape off old caulking on our hands and knees because the flooring was lower, fix the damage from removing the molding, and repaint. This isn't what we expected when we hired professionals. Now that the wood floor is gone and the vinyl flooring is reinstalled, there haven't been any issues. It looks beautiful, and we're happy with the floor. However, the molding hasn't been nailed back, caulking hasn't been applied, and furniture is still all over the house. I can't say what Michael is thinking, but I can tell you how I feel. It seems like he's moved on and doesn't care about finishing the job. He's been unresponsive throughout the process. We asked him to come and look at the floor issues, but he didn't reply or come. He's left two mid-60-year-olds with an unfinished job. If MC Construction doesn't come back, we'll have to figure out how to finish it ourselves, including nailing back the molding, caulking, and moving heavy furniture. We also have a pile of heavy trash bags in our front yard that we need to deal with. There are gaps around the stairs due to the adjusted flooring, making it look unfinished. When I think about all the time spent communicating with Michael, the work we had to do ourselves, living in chaos with furniture everywhere, and not being able to use our main rooms, along with the $13,000 we spent on the vinyl floor, we wish we had gone through Costco or another company. We have several photos we'd like to upload to show what we've been dealing with and our text conversations. Angry doesn't even begin to describe it. We've been patient with their delays, but an unfinished job from a group that claims to be flooring experts is unacceptable. This started in June, and now it's mid-September.
