Tire service
I ordered tires and scheduled an appointment through Mavis. Upon showing up, first, there wasn't anyone at the front desk and when someone finally inquired about what I needed, I explained that I had an appointment for 4 tires to be mounted and balanced. The attendant looked at me like I was crazy and said that there was no way that he could take care of me. I asked him to call the other store, which was around 15 to 20 minutes away and after speaking with them, they affirmed that they could install my tires but the wait would be about an hour and a half.
Went in for brakes, a month later and 3 attempts from 2 different store. Car not fixed.
I brought my car to the Mavis location in Mount Zion,Georgia start off needing brakes repaired. Then needing a master cylinder, next I needed to replace a brake booster. After receiving the wrong part for the master cylinder for a week straight they got the right part. After I bought the brake booster they still could not fix the car. I towed the car to another location in Stockbridge Georgia which in two weeks they still not could not fix it either. This is after they said they had fixed the car. When I drove it home the tires started to smoke and the brakes began to lock up. The Mechanic told me, when I brought it back, that he knew it would come back on a tow truck.which, till this day means it was my safe to drive and the put me and my family in harms way. Later the mechanic told me, he was not able to fix it because of all the stuff that happened from the previous store and said that they were going to take it to the Honda dealership to pay to get it fixed. After we got to the Honda dealership and after speaking to the regional manager, for several times. He approved and told me that he was going to get it fixed at the dealership. The next day I get a call from the dealership saying that they’re going to have it towed back to the shop they couldn’t repair it at all. Which is not what I asked for. This is still ongoing and I have not had my car since September 1, 2022. This whole time they would not let me have a rental or anything for me to get back-and-forth to work
Desired outcome: To mavis and upper management to keep their word and be honest about fixing my car. Would like the work done at the dealership and at least let me have a rental to get around for the time being.
Slow service
9/25/22 Today I stopped into my local Mavis store due to that I discovered my driver's headlights was out the prior night. I knew other places were not opened, as it was a Sunday. I went into the store around 11:15am, and it did take them awhile to help me out. Also they tried to sell me wiper blades. I kindly reminded them I ws just here a few weeks ago...

Saturday, September 17, 2022 @ approximately 3:40pm. There was one (1) customer service man at the front counter & two (2) techs standing in one of the service bay doors. When I went inside & told the man at the service counter I needed a tire repaired, he told me they were booked up & would not be able to do the repair? I have done that work before myself & know the minute amount of time it takes to repair, remount & balance a tire, especially when there are two people standing in sight doing absolutely nothing. Not only did I go elsewhere, I bought a complete set of tires for my vehicle due to the excellent customer service received at the start & knowing those tires only had another 10K miles before needing replacing anyway! Not only did your store lose the repair, if customer service had been what it should, a sale!
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response
Lower Engine Cover was Hanging after Oil Change
I did get an oil change at Mavis Dilworth NC on July 13,2022. Three days later, when I was driving my car on a highway in Ohio, suddenly, I heard a horrible sound. A passing driver alerted me that my car was dragging a metal plate that was scraping the road and causing sparks. Immediately, I stopped, looked under my car and saw a big metal plate/sheet thing just hanging off from the front end of it. It looks like it's the lower engine cover. Immediately, I drove to the nearest mechanic shop, where they managed to remove it. The mechanic told me that it is a common problem when someone inexperienced changes the oil in Honda cars, since they require certain extra care. He asserted Mavis was responsible for the incident, and urged me to go to Mavis so they take responsibility for the replacement and installation of the part. Something I did as soon as I got to Charlotte. And that Mavis Dilworth half did because, they still haven't paid me for the Lower Engine Cover that I had to buy on at the Honda dealer. Jim, Mavis' manager, placed the piece in my vehicle (although there are still some bumper clips to install), but he had no idea how to refund me the money. He agreed to call me, and, for two months, every time I contacted them, they told me that they had not received any authorization from Mavis' main office to reimburse me for that part.
Desired outcome: I would like any kind of reimbursement for that part.
complaint, terrible service.
My name is Lloyd A Cole my complaint is about the service done on my truck at your mavis store at 2701 Tyrone Blvd Saint Petersburg Florida 33710. I went in your store with a check engine light, i have my own obs (obd) scanner and knew. what the problem basically was. They found some more problems, I was ok with that and gave my permission to fix same. after four days with little updates I called again, and was told it would be ready in the afternoon. 2,605.95 later, when i drove it off the lot, check engine light appeared again. Not upset i called and made an appointment for the next day they found more problems, ok with that. after paying an additionally 1,006.00 still ok with that. Here is the problem. they replaced my battery without my permission. while doing so they stripped the battery cable to re attach to the terminal leaving bare wire exposed. They removed my left front tire to do other work. I have very expensive wheels some i have locking lug nuts. Said key is in my truck. They found key and lost it and broke my locking lug nut.Now i have to replace them all. my truck had grease all over it. to make matters worse, my check engine light came back on 3,700 plus of work done. to no avail please help. I also was contacted by i assume your area supervisor never did a fallow up. thank you for listening
Tire and warranty
Everytime I take my van to Mavis I am giving the run around. I purchased tires and warranty for them, but when it's time to get them repaired I am put on the back burnner or given a lie about the tires. I was told a plugged tires was not that but I needed sensors. The next day the tire light came back on and the tire was flat. They not only did not fix the flat but got money for sensors that I probably did not need! Do not go there, they are a rip off.! They make up fake repairs to get more money.
Desired outcome: Nothing. Had to take my car somewhere else. My only problem is that I paid for a warranty that they are not honoring
I would like my money back for the warranty so that I no longer go there for repairs again! I will not refer a Dog to go there... worst place ever!
Tires
I placed several calls to Manager Mike at Mavis, 1000 Highway 315, Jenkins Twp, PA 18702 the former Jack Williams Co to complain that tires I had purchased with the warranty of 50,000 miles (General G-Max AS-05) and only received 12,000 miles of service and already was in need of new tires. I am OCD in the care of my car and updated service always on rotation/alignments. I requested to be prorated for new tires. He stated to come into facility and they would look at tires. When I arrived at Mavis I was told by Chris I had to call General Co. Corporate myself and was given the phone # to deal with the issue myself. They stated they were no longer certified to prorate tires since they were no long owned by Jack Williams and now Mavis and I made a new purchase of tires for $911.96 at that date as my tires were in horrible condition and I was afraid to travel any longer with them. When I contacted General Corporation Customer Relations, I was told that they indeed (Mavis) did have the entitlement to prorate my tire and I should have been informed and could have received 75% discount off new tires of my choice made by General. I feel I was indeed taken advantage of by the men working at Mavis in not prorating my tires if they indeed did have that opportunity. I am extremely furious and believe Mavis and NOT GENERAL now should compensate me the 75% discount credit I am so much deserving of.
Desired outcome: Credited discount of 75% as General Corporation Customer Relations stated I was deserving of.
Perforance
I had made a appointment 0n 9/7/2022 in Thomasville,Georgia for four tires at 8:30.I was there at that time and Robby found my appointment to have 4 tires.I sat there for an hour and he said i needed to have an alignment done so i agreed to that and then more time went by and then he wanted to do a power steering flush but i told him i only had enough money to pay for the tires and he said he would adjust my bill so they could do that wihich was $99.I thinking how could he adjust my bill so he could add this extra which I didn’t say go ahead. My husband and I was getting gas the next day and notice a tire was going flat so we went back to see what could be wrong with our new tires. The guy there check them and one of them only had half the amt.of air needed and the rest was low also.I waited two and a half hours to get these tires and that they could do this to a first time customer. The person told us we needed to wait in line if we wanted to complain.I need to be compensated for my time and for the work i did not ask for.I heard they try to do extra because they get comission if he can add on more work.
Broken car key
On 9/10/22 I took my Honda civic in for 4 new tires in Jackson,Ms. When the service was complete the lady asked me did I want free wipers to off set the price of the tires. I agreed to it. She also deducted $50+dollars off the total. When I ready ti leave I asked for the car key.She told me it was in the car,but it wasn't. I asked another employee . He walks away and sends a 3rd employee with the key broken. I asked what happened. He refers me back to the lady. She tells me I gave it to her broken which was a lie. She was very unprofessional. I told her she knew they broke my key. I will not recommend this store to anyone
Desired outcome: As a result of their actions I had to spend an extra $146 for a new key. I want to be compensated.
Customer service issues
The Buford, Georgia store has very untruthful and unprofessional work ethics. They recently refused to let us pick up our car due to the employee closing down the system early and would not process payment. We were told to come to get the car today (LABOR DAY) while they knew the store would be closed. We drove an hour to go get the car and sure enough the...

Bought BF KO2’s from them for over $1200.00. They kept trying to get me to get other services done like power starting fluid change. They said it and my oil needs to be changed. Did both of them myself 3 weeks prior. Then I decline the extra warranty because the mfg warrant was good enough. As I was checking out and paying, the sales guy told me he gave me the warranty for free, and took the amount off the tire cost. Well I didn’t complain, what could I say. They were just trying to increase their metrics I guess because they are not really supposed to sell tires without a Warranty and or at least an illinment service add-on.
1.5 months later a friend of mine got sold 2 tires for his mini-van for a grand total of $650.00. They just added in all the extras without even asking. One being a TPMS kit for $40.00. His car didn’t have TPMS. This caused me to look at my invoice. Sure enough I got charged for TPMS also. My jeep doesn’t have TPMS either. So I went back and question the sales guy who was working and he said that’s just the rubber valve stems they installed ($96 cents x4) I said that they couldn’t have installed a TPMS kit like I was charged for ($40.00). He said that “corporate makes them do it, and he didn’t agree to it either, but that’s what they have to do. He refused to refund my $40.00 and I left and called the customer service number on top of my invoice. They eventually agreed to crediting the $40.00 back. Since this happened 2 other people in my family got scammed the same way after looking at their previous invoices. Never going back to them again. All they care about is pushing all the bull crap services that are almost “pure profit” for them. It’s so ”scammy”. I actually feel sorry for the associates who have to deal with the customer service issue from “aware” customers calling them on the “Bull Crap”.
Desired outcome: None. Just Venting!
Tire Alignment
Attached is an email explaining what happened to my car. I have been talking to and emailing Mrs. Ebony Bell since February 2022. Nothing has been resolved. Brought my Honda in for an alignment and the technicians damaged the subframe retaining tabs and bolts. I paid for the repairs and was without transportation for a month.

Tire replacement and lies
Mavis in Vernon Hills, IL. Dealt with Chris. Brought my car in for a leaky tire. Was told I had a nail in a sidewall and should replace both tires. That was $300+. AND they tried to get me to drive away with one broken wheel stud and one cross-threaded lug nut. They fixed those which REALLY ticked me off and told me what kind of a business they were running. Today, 5 days later, I glanced at the LF tire thinking I was glad I don't have to keep filling it up a couple times a week. It was obviously low and measured 19.5 psi. SO, it wasn't the tire after all. It wasn't a likely phantom nail in the tire. It's either a leak in my wheel (REALLY?) or a leak in the tire valve. Did they charge me for a new one but just reused the old one? In short, I've spent a lot of money to solve a simple problem. I will ask my usual mechanic for a referral. I will NEVER go to a Mavis again. And I will actively tell my friends to avoid Mavis. I will not give them an opportunity to make things right because they've shown me they make things wrong and try to get away with it.
Wheel alignment
On 8-3-2022 I brought my vehicle in for a wheel alignment. Vehicle was picked up same day at time of store closing. I brought my vehicle back on 8-4-2022 as the steering wheel was not centered and vehicle was pulling right after speaking with the manager Malik. At approximately 4 pm I received a call from store employee Mel. He advised he could not complete my alignment due to the vehicle missing the alignment pins. I traveled to the store and was able to observe that both passenger and driver side were missing alignment pins. I asked how could the employee from the day before would be able to complete my alignment, which he admitted could not have been done. I personally installed the missing alignment pins and new alignment bolts. I brought the vehicle back for alignment. Again the vehicle was still pulling to the right and the steering wheel was not centered. I once again spoke with Malik who asked me to bring the vehicle so he could check for himself. I arrived at the store at about 4:30. Malik advised me he was the only manager there and would not be able to help me. Malik advised me he would speak with his manager and would call me before he left work that day for a resolution. I did not hear from Malik. I called customer service on Friday, August 19th where I was informed I had a 90 day warranty and could take my vehicle to any Mavis. I asked customer service to speak with a regional manager and made an appointment at a separate Mavis store. I was able to finally have my vehicle aligned after visiting the Vineland store on south Delsea dr. I did not receive a call from a regional manger either. This has been a gross encounter for myself with Mavis, not to mention the distrust that has been instilled in me with your company. Not once did anyone say I apologize for the situation.
Bleed new brake lines, emissions and inspections
Took my truck into Mavis Tire, formerly Jack Williams on Jonestown Road Harrisburg, PA
My husband had to put new brake lines on because we purchased truck and old ones were rusted. He followed the scematics and ran the lines.
Asked them if we could drop it off evening of Aug 19th, and wanted them to get air out of ABS, and Inspection, and Emissions They called on Saturday the 20th, and said it needed a new caliper. I called them Saturday late and they said it wasn't done. I said ok maybe tomorrow (Sunday, 21st) he said yes.
Sunday comes, no call. Monday I call and he said it takes times to get the air out. I said ok. Tuesday goes by no call. Wednesday the 24th, I call and they said the guy working on it is off for the day. I called Thursday, he said he took it out in the rain storm we had and it locked up. He also said and he said now he has to get the air out of the caliper. I repeated it and my husband just shook his head.
Friday, August 26, I drove past, the truck is parked on the right side of their building, not being worked on. Today, Saturday August 27, I called and wasn't a nice person on the phone. I told them I wanted it fixed today. Drove past and the Truck is sitting in the same place as it was yesterday, unmoved. And again no phone call.
We need this truck fixed. We've received no calls other than the one that he messed up the caliper and wanted to put a new on one. I'm furious. Is this how Mavis treats customers?
If the truck isn't fixed, I'm filing a claim with Pa Auto Licensing board, and with the Better Business Bureau.
Desired outcome: I'm not paying a dime more for this. I should be charged Inspection and Emissions, a new caliper and 99.00 to get the air out of the ABS. I'm not paying as that truck sat for days and they did nothing.
I will rot in hell before I ever take any vehicle I own back to this place, and I own two vehicles and a truck. The guy I spoke to was so rude, and the fact they wouldn't even call me makes me think he didn't care.
Mavis Tire Freedom Plains Road Poughkeepsie NY
On Saturday, August 20th, 2022 I stopped into Mavis Tire on Freedom Plains Road in Poughkeepise NY to make an appointment to have four new tires, balance and a front end Alignment on my 2019 Dodge Ram Longhorn. THe appointment was scheduled for Monday, August 22nd at 4:00 pm. I arrived at 4:01. When I went to the desk, the employee said he could not find the appointment. I told him, the tall guy made it on Saturday. He got the tall guy and he found the appointment. After 50 minutes, I was still waiting for my truck to be brought into the shop. Then two cars were complete and they brought in two other cars. I went back inside and said to the guy, why did I make an appointment only to wait like the rest of the walk ins. After about five minutes, one hour past my appointment, my truck was brought in for the new tires. At 5:45 pm, the truck was completed. I paid amost $1200.00. When I drove home, I noticed a bad shimmy. I turned around went back to the store, told the saleman about the shimmy and he said bring it back tomorrow as they were closing. I went back the next day and was told to come back tomorrow as they only had one person working. Then they said there balancer was not working correctly and the motor burnt up and the owner would not replace it. Then the guy took the truck for a drive and agreed there was a bad shimmy and that the back wheels had over 8 oz of weights and said its a bad balance. I was told to come back tomorrow. Two trips and NOTHING! I then went to the Poughkeepise store on Parker Avenue, they rebalance the tires and all is well.
THe Freedom Plains store needs to have new staff, they are rude and liars. I will never return to Mavis Tire again.
Tire Purchase and Windshield Wipers Deceptively Recommended.
Tire Purchase and Windshield Wipers Deceptively Recommended.
I purchased 2 tires for my truck, then went back later to buy 2 more tires so that they would wear at the same time. While checking out, the attendant told me that my windshield wipers were worn and was persistent about convincing me that I needed to buy their wipers. She said that she gave me $25 discount and charged me $17+. When I turned around, the mechanic had the wipers in his hand and something just didn't seem right. I told him that I would take those wipers. I looked at them when I got in my truck and there was absolutely no wear on those wipers and they looked brand new. I called my tire company and was told that my wipers were put on in 2020. I called Mavis customer service and told them that I wanted my money back; the agent called and explained what happened and told me to go see the manager. It was the MANAGER who cheated me! She told another attendant that I didn't really pay for them. I don't know what kind of scam that is, but I will not have my shocks fixed there. I got service according to the way I looked. She did not offer me wipers when I bought the first two tires, so I guess she regarded me as stupid when I bought the 2nd two tires. I thought this was going to be my new service location. The manager should be ashamed of herself! I will take my truck back tomorrow, get my wipers put back on, and only go back to get my tires rotated as part of the purchase.
Desired outcome: Refund for WipersThe manager needs training in good business practices, like not cheating customers.
