Plasterboard
I ordered some boards for a renovation.
When first delivered they had put their fork through the bottom 2 boards completely erupting them and then placed a pallet on the top full of adhesive which has marked the wall surface of the top board and the board was for taping and jointing.
After sending 3 emails which were ignored I finally got a response due to messaging their sales team. The response was to trim the boards…
I phoned and explained this was not possible due to the significant damage and under the consumer rights act they need to replace them, I was then told the boards would be replaced early this week.
Aiden then emailed me to explain that they would be delivered on Tuesday. So we travelled to the renovation property after getting an emergency day off work but by midday we had not even had a tracking notification. We Called the company who said that there had been a problem with deliveries that day and so it would be delivered by 10am the following day. At around 10:30 after travelling again to the house and another day taken off work I received a text cancelling the deliveries which I have screenshotted for evidence and again called and emailed to explain this was unacceptable.
To my shock this morning I recieved an email from Aiden McIntyre accusing us of cancelling the delivery yesterday despite the evidence I have to the contrary. I have now invoked my rights through the credit card and charged back the money as I will not pay for goods delivered damaged due to driver error and am fully aware of my rights on this. After having left the house due to being told the order was cancelled we actually saw Wayne the driver from the previous week heading the opposite way from the house down the East Lancashire road despite the company informing us he had broken down, a photo is attached and retained as with all evidence
Desired outcome: Apology from Aiden and retraining in customer service skills, I am also considering the small claims court to reclaim my two days wages lost
Insulation 4 less
This company has no phone support, everything is online by their website. If you do send in an email, they may not even respond.
Even after purchasing a large quantity of product, you cannot purchase an additional amount without paying the outrageous shipping fee, and you have to wait for the product to arrive.
This company does not want to work with the customer!
Desired outcome: Would be dreaming if you thought they cared about customer service.

RE: Order# V0054185 Order Date: Order Total $5, 259.79
I have experienced a very angry, cruel and demeaning experience with the Management team of Jonathon Barber and Kathy Barber with Insulationforless.com. I have never been handled with such disrespect, while attempting to order insulation product and afterwards attempting to receive service or communication.
Insulation for less does not have a customer service telephone line to handle any inquires or concerns, therefore after a series of email correspondence attempting to process an online order with no avail, I requested a call from the company. Mr. Barber spoke to myself and wife with absolute disdain and anger to place an order and degraded us as consumers. Mr & Mrs. Barber are not polite.
Thereafter, once the product arrived, we had further questions and concerns about the quality and amount ordered. After several attempts to communicate via email inquiry, since there is no call center line nor customer service agents, and they both refuse to respond to our inquiries and communicate out of respect. It is vital that consumers have a communication line after the order, yet the policy of the poor managers is to ignore a high paying customer, out of state.
Jonathon Barber possesses no customer service etiquette or open door policy and is harsh and rude with customers... I began reading other reviews that reflect the same about his disposition and behavior.
Unfortunately, there is no corporate office or president to voice our complaint to. I am assuming this complaint will fall into the hands of the Barbers and I'm afraid we will not receive any closure.
Seeking a refund and justice.

Is Insulation4Less Legit?
Insulation4Less earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%
Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.
The age of Insulation4Less's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.
Insulation4less.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.
Insulation4less.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.
Several positive reviews for Insulation4Less have been found on various review sites. While this may be a good sign, it is important to approach these reviews with caution and consider the possibility of fake or biased reviews.
We looked up Insulation4Less and found that the website is receiving a high amount of traffic. This could be a sign of a popular and trustworthy website, but it is still important to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of the site before sharing any personal or financial information
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Insulation4Less has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 14% of 7 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Insulation4Less protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
Horrible customer service
I recently researched insulation products and found myself on the insulation for less website. I had several uestions about the insulation but found that all the phone numbers led to a dead end, directing me to send an email. I reluctantly sent an email stating some of my needs and questions but due to the complexity of my interest in the product for a manufacturing process I really needed to speak to someone so I requested a response by phone.
Instead of a phone call I received an email response that was far from adequate for even the few items I put forth in my request.
A phone number was provided with the email so I called it. The recording turned out to be the same as the other calls I had made and it became increasingly obvious that this was a one man operation designed to run on autopilot. I eventually found a way to leave a few messages and I finally received a return phone call. The man I spoke to was no doubt the owner. Noone else could have kept a job as a customer service represenative while being such a biligerant jerk. The guy was clearly mad at me for wanting to actually speak to a person. How dare I not just shut up and fill out his online order form. He basically yelled at me, challenging me to point out what email answers he had given that were not satisfactory. He accused me of not reading the website as I should have been aware that they only answer questions via email and never by phone. His arrogant rudeness was shocking. Did he not know I was just a customer that wanted to possibly purchase a ton of his product? He has no idea the size of the order I had to place with him or the reoccurring OEM orders my company would have potentially made every month.
Our conversation ended with him confirming that I had two choices. Either ask any and all questions and buy online or go somewhere else. Well, for certain, I am taking my business elsewhere. Thank God I did not spend a dime with this jerell before seeing his true colors. My heart goes out to all the other people who have been screwed by this jerell that I have read about after the fact. It wasn't hard to find people who had been crossways with this guy regardless of how much propaganda he puts on these complaint sites to counter people's claims. Believe me, I have better things to do than write this, but sometimes you feel that as a consumer, you owe it to your fellow man/woman to at least sound the alarm.
My advice, spend your money elsewhere.
I've had the same experience as everyone else. Rude obnoxious and even hung up on me in mid conversation. When I email asking even more questions he discovered I was an engineer and knew what I was talking about and he told me to buy someplace else he didn't need my business.
There's a video on YouTube that explains that the only way to get anywhere near the R value they claim is it must be used a tested. The test is a 24" x24" 2x4 box. The product is draped across it with a 2" air gap. Then the top and bottom of the box has 3/4" plywood screwed to it so the box is air tight and encapsulated.
Then they run the test. Note that the video doesn't use prodex in their example but it shows how all products like this are tested. Interestingly enough he recommends just using just using the heavy gauge aluminum foil designed for roofing which is fairly cheap and then insulate if you wish but you likely won't need it if you vent the top of the shaft.
Avoid this company at all costs. I had 2 large metal barns, 3 car metal garage and shop and a house I was interested in doing.
Rude owners. That's the nice way to put it. Save yourself the time. The positive reviews have to be fake.
Good luck
Double Charged on Shipping Charges- Refuses to refund the Difference
Here is the direct email correspondence with Kathy Blajerski-Barber:
"Hello,
Recently, I ordered a roll of 4x50 Prodex Insulation, order # V29431 and took advantage of your Buy One Get One free sale. Sadly, once again, I am enormously disappointed with your company and it's shady policies, but I am giving you the opportunity to make this right for your long time customer. I have been a customer of yours since 2008, and orders on your website show orders dating back to Aug 2009, when you re-built your site.
Let me get to the point: On the order #V29431, placed on 5/15/2015 and delivered via FedEx today on 5/19/2015. Not only did you charge me 2 shipping fees of $18.00 per roll (and delivered the rolls in one package) for a total of $36.00, you also charged me 2 residential delivery charges of $4.50 per roll, for a total of $9.00, when there is only 1 package delivered.
You also raised the price up from the last order I placed from $109.95 per roll (plus shipping and delivery fees) to $139.95 per roll in your Buy One Get One Free scam. Effectively, what I paid only 1 month ago for the same roll of insulation (a final total of $131.45, and those shipping rates were $17, not $18) has now become a total of $184.95 during your Buy One Get One Free Scam, effectively making this Buy One Get One Free special you are running, a Buy One Roll, Get Another Roll for 1/2 off.
And my last order, placed on 4/10/15, was lost in shipment, and almost 2 weeks later, your company FINALLY decided to ship me another roll, costing my customers time, and costing me money from new orders.
Before that, just 10 days prior, I ordered the same 4x50 roll, and guess what? Yes, my charges were again different. You charged me $99.95 per roll, and I could go on, and on, about how your price changes on the website every week, and your shipping charges are never the same either.
But you know what, I have kept my mouth shut, and purchased your products for the past 7 years, hoping that something would change, and that your shady policies would stop. Boy, I was wrong. It has only gotten worse.
With all of that being said, I expect a refund of the difference you charged me for the dual shipping fees, as well as the dual residential delivery fees, for a total of $22.50. I should also ask for a refund of the price increase you instituted just for this sale, but I'm going to be the nice guy here, and only ask for $22.50.
I expect a response to this email, and a refund of $22.50 immediately.
Thank you for your time!"
I received a response from Kathy indicating that I had accepted the terms of the sale, and no refund would be issued. When I responded indicating that the Terms and Conditions did not state that I would be charged for 2 delivery charges, and only have 1 package delivered, her response was the following:
"You agreed to the price. How we package is not of your concern. We will not address this issue again. We have removed you from our email list and wish you well."
Not only did Insulation4less.com refuse to make this right, and refund the dual shipping charges (which is all I was asking for), Kathy was extremely rude in her responses, and their company consistently fluctuates on prices, and runs unethical business practices, including raising the price on the product for a sale, and then lowering it back down after the sale, and shows no remorse or concern for their customer when issues arise, such as my last order that mysteriously got lost in shipment, and it took almost 2 weeks to receive a new roll of insulation, as well as refunding this small and insignificant amount of money for incorrect shipping charges, which should be done, not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because a company should want to keep a customer they have had for 7 years and not want to brush them off and be rude to their longtime customer.
I expect this company to resolve this dual shipping charge issue immediately.
Fake promises, still no delivery
My family bought insulation products from the company www.insulation4less.com. We paid and got confirmation info, but after that total rubbish started. They sent different emails every day and promised that soon they would deliver order. Each day I got such emails, but they still haven’t provided it. I was furious and asked them to stop and return money back, but they suddenly stopped to communicate with me. Maybe someone has any ideas how to return money back, please contact me then or leave a comment. Thanks.
Prodex Insulatino
I love Prodex Insulation: I bought a lot. I have insulated over ½ my attic with it. I also bought the double stick tape from Insulation4Less along with the foil tape.
Here is what I think about installation – it is easy. I had fiberglass insulation with a poly vapor barrier covering the insulation and rafters. I stapled the poly to the rafters and slit the poly between the rafters so as not to trap moisture. I ran the double stick down the poly covered rafters and then applied the Prodex Insulation. What I learned: the Prodex Insulation ideally should also be stapled through the flange into the rafter to help hold it tight. This not only helps prevent it from pulling away from the double stick tape, but also helps the foil tape seal the seams without the 2 runs of Prodex Insulation pulling apart from each other.
It is a great product. I can feel how much warmer the attic is each time I go up and the beetle infestation which used to come with winter has been significantly reduced – over 90%. Thank you Insulation4Less.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I tried to find out why shipping cost were so high and to see if I could pick up in person. The company claims to be in the Houston area. This resulted in some automated answers and then a very rude email. Very unusual that an address cant be offered. Stay away!
As far as Mr. Barber, he certainly does not have people skills. Very rude and defensive. Probably why all questions get referred back to his web site. Finding the actual manufacturer of Prodex is difficult. However, the address for the Mr. Barber is in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Maybe someone should track him down and have a conversation with him. I offered to even meet him and buy him a cup of coffee before I could decide if I wanted to order through him. He refused and referred me back to the web site. Seems pretty shady to me to be so secretive.
Insulation 4 Less response to "Joes Upset"
Below is our Finding on his case along with portions of email exchanges and his posts. You'll can decide for yourself if "Joes Upset" is uncooperative, vulgar, a bully and dishonest. We make every reasonable effort to grant a customer whatever is required to keep him/her happy - We sought to do the same with "Joes Upset". Rather than reply to our questions, he decided to bully us by threatening to and posting dozens of negative comments. Every company our size or larger has to deal with a few "Joes Upset". It's remarkable that with over 2 billion square feet of insulation sold and over 100, 000 customers, we have so few instances of "Joes Upset". We spent 3 months asking the same questions only to receive the responses you see below. If some of his foul language is missing it is because this website has elected to edit it out.
Joes Upset:
Hello, I purchased insulation from You…. The contractors arrived last week to install the building.
I was out of town when they arrived. They installed the insulation under the new roofing sheet metal, and this insulation is defective. There are many black spots in it,
I4L:
Sorry, for the problem. How long was the insulation left out doors before being place in property?
Joes Upset:
It was never outdoors.
I4L:
Sorry, for the problem.
1. Please ask the installers if they noticed moisture on the product when it was removed from the bag.
2. Please ask the installers to share what they think may have contributed to this issue.
3. Please tell us what percentage of the 8 rolls has the issue you've described.
Joes Upset:
It is defective…
I4L:
We are simply asking questions so we can understand what occurred. We've only had 4 incidents reported such as your in my twelve years marketing the product. One incident was an application where Prodex was installed under a house that was only a few feet above a stream. The other incidents were similar to yours to the extent that the product was not installed for more than 6 months after purchase -- In these cases the product was exposed to water at some point and the water was trapped in the bag (product not allowed to completely dry out).
Joes Upset:
I can see your going to be a problem . I regret doing business with Prodex now. I'll go over Your head if you don't come up with a resolution before Monday at the close of business here on the East Coast. In addition, I will be reporting Your Company to the Better Business Bureau, and My Contractor will be posting a Do Not Buy Prodex Notice, because they sell defective product and won't stand behind it, and on with the Steel Building Contractors Association. In addition, I'll be taking the time to contact every buildiners Association I can find on line to report your business practices of selling defective product and not standing behind it. After I complete all that, I will file suit against Prodex. I will prevail on this matter. Govern Yourself Accordingly,
I4L
You were provided three simple questions to answer. Your responses are required to resolve the issue. We made no statement in regards to how this matter would be settled. As previously instructed, please answer question #3 to move the matter forward.
Joes Upset:
You have yet to state what position You will take to resolve this . Before I open the other two sealed rolls, I need to know what your position is going to be to resolve this, and in writing here ?
I4L
This matter will be referred to the appropriate party to assist in deciding how it will be settled if and when all requested information is received.
Joes Upset:
As I've told You, AT THIS POINT -- ( 6 ) out of ( 8 ) ROLLS ABSOLUTELY HAVE " ISSUES " .The other 2 MIGHT be defective, but I won't know until the contractors come back to put up the walls… What a jerk you are.If You don't have a refund available to me by days end, I'm going to spend a bunch of time repeatedly telling the world what an ### you are, and that your a also a no good thief, selling inferior product ! Then I'll be seeing you in court so I can tell the judge what a ]crook you are. Where you will hopefully be paying my contractors to take the roof off and replace this garbage you sold me, in addition to my attorneys fee's, and lost revenue while my building id being repaired. You play your ### game of threats and slander . I tell the truth, and the truth is that you, … are not with the toilet paper I wiped my ### with today...
I4L:
You will need to provide us the requested information on the balance of the insulation rolls in order for the case to be settled. We intend to settle this case once.
Joes Upset:
I'm not going to do anything until I see how you are going to handle this.
I4L:
As previously stated, you will need to provide us the requested information on the balance of the insulation rolls in order for the case to be settled. As we stated, we intend to settle this case once. Are intention from the start was to gather all the information. Your refusal to comply has unnecessarily resulted in your case not being settled. We were just about to settle your case when you sent an email that stated you hadn't reviewed 2 of the rolls. We assumed all the rolls had been viewed. It was that email that prompted us to ask the obvious question. "What is the condition of the last two rolls?". You could have lied and we wouldn't have known. We just needed the information and we still do. The process is that all information gets gathered and then we propose a solution. We are not going to change our business practice because you want to know how the matter is going to be addressed before providing the requested information.
To proceed. You will need to:
1. Tell us the condition of all 8 insulation rolls.
2. Have every incorrect and slanderous comment posted online and elsewhere about Insulation4Less and Prodex removed.
Joes Upset:
The entire run for the order is defective, just as it says on the complaint.
I4L
Is your name "…., " or "……." Your email ID reads "….." but you write "….." at the bottom of your emails.
Joes Upset:
The settlement will be paid to "….", which is the same name the payment was made in. Any other names are none of your business at this time…
I4L:
Findings (emailed to Joe's Upset) August 19, 2013
1. Given the condition you stated you received the product (flaking and black spots), the insulation should not have been installed. You should have requested we pick up the material to replace it or pick up the material and send a refund.
2. We found no products in our warehouse immediately prior to, during or after your product shipped that had similar problems. In addition, no customer reported such problems with their insulation rolls. For 8 insulation rolls to have left our warehouse in the condition you expressed and end up at a single location that only ordered only 8 rolls is virtually impossible.
3. In the 6 months between the time we shipped the product and you opened the packages, the damage occurred. The product was exposed to water while still inside its packaging - (Due to cuts in plastic covering). It was not removed from it packaging and allowed to dry.
Joes Upset:
Go f*** yourself... The court will see it much different..See you there, and yes do check the public complaint boards, because I'll be on them telling the world what a crook you are for the rest of my life. YES YOU ARE A PIECE OF C***! PATHETIC!, and still, not worth the toilet [paper one uses to wipe ### with .
INSULATION 4 LESS are THIEVES and selling Prodex is DEFECTIVE JUNK with NO WARRANTY !
You can get better insulation for the project at LOWE'S .
BBB1963, It doesn't take weeks to understand the website. It's one of the best designed sites I've seen in the industry. It doesn't get simpler. I think you were likely referred to back to the website because you asked questions that probably were addressed on the home page. If someone doesn't offer you a solution, maybe that's because a solution is not available for you. Isn't it better that someone refer you back to a relevant web page for you to learn for yourself than make up something just to sell you.
Insulation4Less is the best at what they do - Provide easy ordering and fast shipping for reflective insulation. I found the articles informative and the installation instructions easy to follow. Prodex Insulation is great! I mean it really is great! I've used in in my metal shed and my attic. I really notice the difference.
yes, Sir BBB2983, >>> Insulation $ less is a scam operation, and Barber will probably try and threaten you with blackmail to try and get you to remove your complaint against him here.
That's what BARBER did to me . BARBER Tried to bribe me, then BARBER threatened me, then BARBER lied about it .
He's no good, no integrity, no back bone, no honor, no morals, no character, no class, just a bad apple seed in life.

Jonathan Barber was a complete arrogant and awful customer service person. He was not helpful at all. He would not answer any question and just kept posting links to the website. The website is overly complicated and does not get to the point. You can spends weeks on the site trying to find a solution instead of getting a solid answer from Jonathan Barber. I have never ever experienced a business that was so consumer unfriendly and unhelpful. Awful experience and I am taking my business elsewhere.

Don't fall for Barber's lies or threats when he tries to get you to remove your complaint here .
Barber is a thief !
He sold me defective garbage on my order of over $2000.00.
You probably won't get a dime back from this thief Barber at Insulation4Less.
It appears He's hiding behind some sort of minority grant based business act.
That's where our government takes" We the People's Tax dollars", and "give's them to a minority " so the minority can become a "business man" at ( We The People's), expense, and with no business experience!
Barber is a pathetic excuse for an honest businessman !
Solara, and other names come to mind when we consider how much of "We the People's" money is fraudulently thrown away on these "green energy" businesses that turn out to be scams to steal " We the People's " money.
This garbage product "PRODEX " that Barbara sells is made in Thailand with slave wage labor.
The " Prodex "that " Insulation4Less" sold me, is cheap defective junk, and Barber is a pathetic excuse for an American business man.
This weasel STEALS over $2000.00 of MY HARD EARNED MONEY, and lives life off of the backs of hard working Americans
****** BOYCOTT Insulation4Less! ...***** BOYCOTT Prodex!..********. BOYCOTT Jonathan BARBER of Colorado !*******
Another complaint-ant posting here, had claimed, and stated that he filed a lawsuit against Prodex, as tests showed that the claimed R value was not at all what Prodex claimed it was.
The post disappeared, and Maybe Insulation4 less BRIBED him, ?, just like Barber, from Insulation4less tried to BRIBE me with more lies, and and then threats, into taking my complaints off this board.
***********INSULATION4LESS and Mr BARBER, SHOULD BE BOYCOTTED BY ALL HARD WORKING FOLKS .*************
