I went right to the Hotel Sepia website and I thought I was making a reservation directly on their website. BUT unbeknownst to me, the reservation was made with HOTELSONE9148398425623 hotelsone.comON
I did not receive a confirmation # so I thought the reservation was NOT COMPLETE. When our travel plans changed, I didn't try to cancel until I got a text from [protected] (somewhere in Nevada?) noting https://us.eariane.com/zxAygFcsQ as the website for the reservation. When I clicked that link I saw:
Sorry, the requested resource was not found.
I then called Hotel Sepia directly to cancel the reservation, but they were not able to do so. saying that I would have to contact the company with which the reservation was made. I can get on the Hotelsone website, but I have no reservation number so I can’t trace the transaction.
I tried to have the payment of $193.30 reversed on my Mastercard, but had no luck with CIBC. So I paid almost $200 for a hotel room I could not use.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate being able to make contact with the company that made the reservation. I also want to know if Hotel Sepia in Quebec City knows that such a scam can occur and I also want a refund.
I have just had the same thing happen to me. I also, thought that I had booked through the website directly. Our travel plans changed, I contacted the hotel to cancel and was told it was through a third party and there was nothing they can do. I checked my email accounts and realized that I in fact had no booking confirmation at all. I checked my Mastercard statement and noticed that it was charged under Hotelsone.com, a company that I never heard of but apparently, they are affiliated with Expedia? I logged into Expedia as I have booked through them before, but they had no record of this booking. I went back and searched my computer history and located the time when I booked the hotel. When I clicked on it, again it looks like you are on the hotels website, but you're not. When I went on Hotelsone website to cancel you require a booking confirmation number which you conveniently do not have since they never emailed you one in the first place. I managed to speak with someone from the website (I hope) and they have told me that I will receive a full refund, as well as email confirmation refund within 24hrs. I am hopeful this will actually happen.
Please let me know the number you called to get this (apparant) refund!

Hi there, the # is [protected]
Just to update, I did receive a full refund. No confirmation email of cancellation, but I did get refunded.
Great news!
After serveral levels of scrutiny by CIBC Mastercard, HotelsOne relented and refunded $194.30 to my account. I received NO communication from HotelsOne. All the work was done through the bank. So, justice has prevailed in my case. Good luck to others who have been scammed!
