This company is the worst I've ever dealt with
This company is the worst I've ever dealt with. I spent $175 on Arden 15 seeds and hardly any of them sprouted. They wouldn't give me my money back and only sent me 1lb of seeds as a replacement. Watch out if you're thinking of doing business with them, they'll just take your money.
if you need some grass seed, don't even think about going to *** seed
if you need some grass seed, don't even think about going to *** seed. That stuff is straight up trash. It don't even grow and they ain't even tryna help you out when it don't. They don't give you no instructions on the bag or in the box, and they expect you to go online to figure it out. And even then, they still won't give you your money back. So save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else for your seed needs.
Watch out!
Watch out! They don't back up their stuff! We bought $2300 worth of Zoysia seed from this company. We were gonna use half in the front yard and half in the back. We got the best soil for planting the seed. We put half the seed in the backyard in April. After 3 months, watering every day, and very few seedlings, I filed a claim. They went back and forth about how it was MY FAULT nothing was growing. They said, "We planted some here at our office and it's coming up perfectly"! I sent pictures of our 'muddy' yard showing that the seed was not growing. We did everything by the book. Very little of the seed sprouted so we ended up using the seed we were going to use for our front yard on the back as well hoping to get something to grow. Now it's 4 months later and still 3/4 of our yard is dirt/mud. I recently sent in another update to Hancock Seed but they won't answer. They're refusing to work with us and don't back up their stuff! Now we're out $2300 and looking at a muddy yard.
I bought 60lbs of Argentine Bahia from Hancock
I bought 60lbs of Argentine Bahia from Hancock. I got 50lbs first and then another 10lbs to try planting it differently. I used a dethatcher and sprayed Roundup to kill everything. After two weeks, I did it again and waited five weeks before leveling the yard and preparing it for the seed. I put it down after using my aerator and dethatcher. I've used this method over a dozen times in the past ten years with great results. Within a week, green stuff started coming up all over the yard, but it turned out to be weeds I'd never had before. Like others have said, there's something wrong with this "premium" seed. I used 50lbs in an area a little over 3200 square feet and got zero Bahia to come up. The 10lb bag was used on the area next to my drive and I applied Scott's lawn soil over it, but zero came up. The company gave me the same excuse they gave others and offered a discount, but you'd be crazy to give this company a penny.
I used Hancock seed 3 times now, the 1st time we bought 35 bags of Argentine Grass seed with a pallet of starter fertilizer to seed about 20
I used Hancock seed 3 times now, the 1st time we bought 35 bags of Argentine Grass seed with a pallet of starter fertilizer to seed about 20 acres which we were happy with our results.
We had 8-10 acres more to seed so we ordered 15 more bags of Argentine grass seed with starter fertilizer and put it down and prepped it the same way the 1st seed was put down, but the seed never germinated so we didn't do anything until the following year.
The 3rd time we ordered another 15 bags of Argentine grass seed with starter fertilizer and prepped it the same way that we did the first time we had good results. But again, no germination of Argentine grass.
We put this seed down during the recommended summer months of Florida where the average temperature stays between 70 and 90 for our low and high.
We spent approx $10,000 on just seed in which 30 out of the 65 bags of the Argentine seed never germinated. We have been in the landscape and irrigation business since 1989, my thought is the seed could be old or outdated because we put the seed down immediately after receiving the delivery.
Our first experience was good and gave them a 5-star review.
The 2nd and 3rd time around were disappointing due to all the work that goes into grading and prepping the areas before the seed goes down not only once but 2 times now and still no germination of Argentine seed.
We are afraid to use them again! And we don't like to complain.

Hancock Seed Co
Hancock Seed Co. sold me some bad seed. I got some clover seed from them and planted it this Spring. But it didn't sprout. I reached out to Hancock, but they didn't want to replace the seed. I even offered to send back the rest of the bad seed, but they didn't want to hear it.
I bought a bunch of bahia seed from Hancock Seed Company and did everything they said to do, but most of what came up was weeds
I bought a bunch of bahia seed from Hancock Seed Company and did everything they said to do, but most of what came up was weeds. A lot of the plants that grew weren't even on my property before I planted their seed. When I talked to them about it, they showed me some fake lab test that said the seed was 45% bahia, 57% nothing, and 0% weed seed. I don't believe that there was no weed seed in there. I spent a lot of money and did everything right, but the seed was garbage.
I bought a ton of pasture grass seed from Hancock Seed Company for $1,000, but only a little bit of it actually grew
I bought a ton of pasture grass seed from Hancock Seed Company for $1,000, but only a little bit of it actually grew. I tried to talk to them about it, but they never called me back even though I asked twice. Instead, they sent me two really long emails trying to explain why it wasn't their fault that the seed didn't grow. They said it was too cold in South Carolina for their seed to work, even though it was summer. It seems like this company knows they have problems with their stuff, but they don't want to take responsibility for it. Other people have had the same issues, so it's not just me.

I bought some Titan RX grass seed from Hancockseed.com on 09/10 because they said they had "Fast free shipping
I bought some Titan RX grass seed from Hancockseed.com on 09/10 because they said they had "Fast free shipping". But by 09/13, I still hadn't got an email saying it had been shipped. So I had to try something else and wanted to cancel my order. But the customer service lady said "they dont cancel orders". I asked her to check and she did. She came back and said the order was on "a truck" so she wasn't going to cancel it. This is costing me a lot of money and time because of the delays in the "fast free shipping". I just want a refund because they didn't do what they said they would.
I ordered some seed corn (Truckers White Dent, 25 pounds) from Hancock Seed Company in Dade City, FL on 3/31/2022
I ordered some seed corn (Truckers White Dent, 25 pounds) from Hancock Seed Company in Dade City, FL on 3/31/2022. But when I received my order, I got another variety, Moseby White Dent in a 25 pound bag. I was pretty upset because I had spent a lot of time researching the corn I wanted and I specifically ordered the Truckers White Dent. I tried to get a refund and send the wrong item back, but the company only pointed me to their website. It turns out that they have a big red header at the top of the page that says there might be a substitute, but I didn't see it when I placed my order. And even if I had seen it, the substitute they sent me is not really comparable to what I wanted. It's white field corn, which apparently is similar to seed experts, but not to me. I think this is a really deceptive practice and the people who answer the phone are good at tricking you. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. I'll send the seed back, but I'm not paying a restocking fee or for return shipping.
