Getaways Resorts review: Timeshare at Sedona Pines (AZ)

In 2018 I was given a written statement confirming an option to sign my membership over to the company without cost to me. The offer specially says "This option is open.". In 2020 I tried to exercise this option and was told that the company (Sedona Pines LLC) had been bought by another company and that the new owner was not honoring those agreements. On July 13; 2021 I contacted Karla Johnson (Getaways Resorts Membership Management) in an another attempt to sign over the timeshare per the written statement. She emailed me on July 14, 2021 stating that the offer was "no longer valid" and that I would have to pay $1500.00 to give the membership back to the resort. I consider this to be extortion. I believe the company should honor the earlier commitment as it was made (presumably) and received in good faith. I am expected to abide by the terms of the contract even though it was made with Sedona Pines LLC so it seems to me that Getaways Resorts should have to abide by agreements in effect at the time of their purchase.
