G-Plans Not pleased at all!

I purchased the 3 month bundle on 4/22. Ive had nothing but problems with the app and website. I’ve contacted support on numerous occasions. It took several days for them to respond, but someone always did respond. I watched all the videos in the resources tab to help me be more successful. The resource videos are not compatible with the current program- for example, if you watch the video on exercise, the video says g-plans will help guide you to what exercises are best for your metabolic type. That is not the case. When I asked about it, I was told the diet was designed to work without exercise. That’s not the point! The first week says to focus on your snacks and water, which I did. At my first check in, I truthfully answered that I had not eaten 70% of my meals. Snacks are not 70% of your meals. The meal planner is not user friendly. The grocery list is not user friendly or accurate. It would tell me I needed 1.5 oz of something in the recipe. When I tried to log the meal- the amount might be different. I figured out to track the meal and then untrack it, but that’s not the point. Swapping meals isn’t as easy as they promote either. I have kids- so I thought I could use any dinner meal any night- for example the paleo burgers instead of the healthy beef and broccoli (which I liked but my kids did not). Nope- can’t swap. Asked for help with that and told macros were different so chose another meal. Tried to cancel and get my money back- told can’t get your money back on the 3 month $99 plan. Doesn’t seem quite fair. I wouldn’t purchase this plan at all. I’ve wasted $99 bucks and took up space on my phone.

G-Plans Amazing, at times inconvenient

Truthfully, the better rating might have been a four, but I consider the health upgrade and cooking experience I’ve gotten from this to be more important.
If you’re solely considering the app and it’s functions, it does lag a lot more than you’d want. It freezes when you replace a meal with a different recipe and goes black at times. It can be rather frustrating.
In all though, I went from having a BM like twice or three times a week if I was lucky to having multiple BM’s DAILY. I know that’s TMI, but it’s incredible for me. I’d have unbelievable stomach problems, no matter how much probiotic I consumed. I started following these recipes, eating more greens, grains and fruit than I’d ever had before and all of a sudden I felt better and actually could go #2. On top of that, my mom’s always been busy with work growing up, so never had time to teach me to cook, and this app teaches so well. No videos or anything but it’s very easy to follow and the end result is always, always, always delicious. AND (yes there’s more) they incorporate a lot of vegan-vegetarian meals that I end up trying and I’ve been so impressed with how tasty vegan meals can be! I was vegetarian for around 6 years, only one in my house that was, from around ages 11-17 maybe, and I’d always have fast-food veg options for my lack of cooking knowledge and never got to know the full extent of the lifestyle. It does not have to be bland! Who knew! I didn’t!

Gist: this app’s benefits of teaching you how to cook, and the healthy side effects of eating healthier, more balanced meals very much outweighs the lagging of the app itself and it’s small inconveniences. Love it.

G-Plans Program is OK, App Needs Work

After a few weeks, I’m realizing a few drawbacks to this program and the app. Overall, concept is good. But I haven’t been able to add a recipe of my own yet which makes it tough to track meals when I don’t choose from the available options. Available options are extremely limited. When I signed up, I read that they offered hundreds of recipes. There are maybe 20 or 25 TOTAL. That includes options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 snacks a day. And lunch options are the same as dinner. Who cooks steak or grills for lunch everyday? There are too many recipes out there to have this be an issue. It’s laziness by the program to make it easier. I can find them by using Macro Kitchen and searching on the web, but I can’t import them easily so it becomes a part time job to log anything “off-plan”. I still create my own meals and match the macros as close as possible, but if I cook a recipe, I can’t add it, app errors out every time or just doesn’t save... and I’m not adding every ingredient every time I make a recipe.
Grocery list could use some work. I use it to gut check ingredients but it’s not organized well enough to be overly useful.
Progress only shows most recent update and first pic but I want to see overall progress. You can only view the current week’s meals and progress to the goals, can’t go back to previous weeks to see your history.
Separately, I’ve been waiting 2 weeks to get accepted into the Facebook community... sent requests 3 times. Still waiting.
Not overly impressed, likely wouldn’t recommend but I think it has a lot of potential. I’m not seeing killer results yet, but it’s early so I’m saving judgement for it having any success results at the moment.

G-Plans Nice concept, but

I was excited to start this plan to gain some guidance and support to balance carbs, fat, and protein across the day to avoid the dreaded sugar crash and reduce my caffeine addiction. Having a detailed guide of how much of what to eat and how often helped me reconceptualize what a meal looks like. I’m only three days in, so I can’t comment on results. As someone who usually eats one or two meals a day, it’s been an adjustment to move to 6.

As soon as I said I was in, the extra sales started- I needed their exclusive pills, and whey protein, and a year subscription.

The app is really frustrating. Although the design looks clean, the guaranteed coaching videos don’t open. Other buttons work sometimes and not others. The customer support is non-responsive.

There are also a ton of weird kinks in the thoughtfulness of the program. They set goals and have a ramp up recommendation, but the”coaching” doesn’t align. Recipes change ingredient amounts based on which link you access them from. I have liked one recipe, found another to require 4x the cooking length, and another to be bland. When you swap ingredients, the app will tell you if it’s too high or low in protein, fat, or carbs, but only after you “track” it (so putting together a comprehensive alternative requires that you go back and forth between untracking, clicking an ingredient, choosing to “swap” and searching for new ingredients, “adding”, then “tracking”— several of which will likely not work on the first attempt).

If you don’t need the macro management and just want coaching and support, and a place to track, Noom has a far superior app design, the coaching was great, and someone always answers questions quickly.

G-Plans Huge disappointment

I signed up for this plan & downloaded this app. It lists meals you are supposed to eat and with many of the meals/ingredients it listed, there is no recipe to follow it. So then how are you supposed to prepare the meal? Not user friendly AT ALL! I also tried contacting the support feature where there is supposed to be a team of people to help
Or answer questions about the plan. I submitted a few questions or pleas for help over the past few days and haven’t received any response. So I’m canceling the program. It sounds great but is a huge confusing disappointment. UPDATE: I got a response from the developer telling me there are no wait times for chat. Well there were when I was trying to use it! It said it right on the screen and They NEVER RESPONDED to my please for help! Not once! Also there were NOT recipes for a few of the meals listed in my plan. I’m not making this up! I canceled within 3 DAYS! That’s how bad this app was! Then I had a problem with trying to cancel. They asked me to provide information I was absolutely never given in order to cancel. I must’ve emailed them 50 times trying to cancel. Then I asked about getting my money back hence the money back guarantee. They told me I had a certain plan that you don’t get your money back, but when I sent them a screenshot of what I had, suddenly things changed. I also looked up this plan on the internet to see if anyone else had any problems with the company and there are so many warnings about how they charge you after you cancel, it’s absolutely crazy. There is no customer service number, no way to reach them except for the [protected]@gplan email address. PLEASE people, save yourself a ton of aggravation, just don’t do it!

G-Plans I regret believing the marketing hype

In short, it is NOT a custom food plan from a world-renowned nutritionist made especially for your body type, and it’s basically impossible to use. This app feels like a white label meal plan app that’s been sold to put the brand name on it.

This is not a customized food plan. I repeat. This is not a customized food plan. This is a generic meal plan app with a nutritionist’s brand name.

Also, you will not get your money back once you realize what a garbage app this is, and it’s basically impossible to cancel. I have to call my bank to deny the charge because they won’t actually let you cancel the plan.

When I first started I was excited about it, obviously, and actually wrote a glowing review. I have to change that because I find this program nearly impossible to ACTUALLY use. It’s great in theory, but there is no functionality to input food other than what is in their plan (except a really, frankly, stupid workaround that you can even save to reuse). It’s too rigid for the reality of life.

If you have any dietary restrictions, basically just forget it.

And they didn’t even include my body type in the test, so I don’t even know how accurate the results are. It could be totally b.s.

I also think that what a 40 year old woman needs to eat is very different from what a 20 year old boy needs to eat, because of the difference in hormones, and if you have any health issues, usually food is foundational to true transformation of your health, so I don’t believe the food plans are actually relevant at all. It pretends to be a “custom” diet but really, it just has a rather limited collection of stock recipes that it shuffles out to everyone based on very basic, limited criteria.

I sincerely regret believing the marketing hype.

G-Plans DO NOT GET THIS PROGRAM

First of all - I NEVER write reviews much. It was that bad to where I felt the need to let others know. It didn’t even start with the app it started with signing up

- signing up
I took the quiz, watched the video and it froze the only thing I saw was a pop-up for $39 with a huge discount. Sounded like a great program, so I decided to purchase for $39. As I was going through the purchasing process I was given other options to add on to my plan. Not only did it keep freezing, but it automatically added an additional $98 worth of products/services that I could not undo. At this point I thought, “no problem, I’ll contact their customer service and let them know what happened so they can adjust it(THIS WAS NOT THE CASE)

- The transaction email confirmation
As I was downloading the app and contacting customer service, I got an email of the confirmation explaining that it was $39 MONTHLY along with the $98 addition. THE TOTAL CAME OUT TO $233!

- Customer service and billing rep response
I have emailed, contacted on social media, and called three times to explain the issue and received the same answer- NO REFUNDS. Obviously I didn’t use the app yet because it had just been activated less than an hour ago, so why can’t they adjust it !?!

-The app
Since there were no refunds I went to look and see what the app was all about and it keeps freezing, doesn’t save my information, keeps kicking me out THEREFORE I PAID FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T EVEN DO WHAT IT SAYS !

I’M UPSET and wanted to resolve this PRIVATELY, but the lack of ownership this company has with their system and customer service is ridiculous. IF YOUR PROGRAM IS SO SUCCESSFUL THEN ONE REFUND SHOULDN'T PUT A DENT IN YOUR PROFIT LOSS REPORT.

Lastly I’m still requesting a refund.

G-Plans Scammy and manipulative

I found this app off of their Instagram ad. I thought it was really different and beneficial to have an app that teaches you your personal metabolic type and creates a plan off of that.
I decided to purchase the app under the impression that it was only $40, because that was what it said when I was in the process of buying.
Not until AFTER I completed my purchase, did it inform me that it was $40 MONTHLY and not a one-time purchase. In that, they then offer you an annual plan for ~$121 or so, saying you’ll be saving tons of money in comparison to the normal cost of the program.
That purposeful miscommunication was the first big red flag.
So I figured I would make use of the first month since I had paid for it, and promptly cancel my account. When I tried to cancel through the app, it gives you a bunch of confusing buttons to say you do or don’t want to continue with your cancellation. It purposefully makes it incredibly difficult to navigate so that you get frustrated and give up, continuing to pay.
It insists that my plan is “pro/premium”, (which is not what I signed up for) and that I can’t cancel through the app and have to call a representative. I have called four times now, left three messages, and have yet to receive a response. I feel manipulated and scammed. Especially during this time of COVID-19, where I am out of a job and not receiving income, I cannot afford to pay the expensive cost of this app.
I’ve really enjoyed the recipes, and I think the formula they use can be really effective for a lot of people, but the benefits are not worth the expense to me, nor the frustration and stress it is causing in trying to cancel.

If I don’t hear back from them, I’ll be slamming this app on every outlet I can to make sure people know not to purchase it. This should be illegal.

G-Plans Features Never Work & A Lot Could be Improved

First, this app constantly freezes. This is very frustrating. For instance, I have tried to change my protein preferences almost every day, and each day, it tells me there is a problem, and it cannot save my changes.

Second, I really don’t like that if I’m on vacation or something and forget to log, I can’t go back and log yesterday’s food, so it impacts my progress on the app.

Third, I hate that it doesn’t show you your total calories and macros per day UNTIL you’ve logged the food (unless you add it up mentally in your head).

Fourth, I don’t think it is geared towards people who have already been drinking enough water, eating enough calories, and exercising. I have been doing all of the above for a while, and according to Dr. Goglia’s book, which I am now reading, have a dual metabolism; however, when I signed up for the app and didn’t have my labs handy, it categorized me as fat protein efficient and won’t let me change my type on my own on the app. To make matters worse, it appears I’m starting as a beginner, so I’m eating tons of carbs, when I feel I should probably be starting in a later week, but there’s no real way to adjust your week of even see what the later weeks entail. I basically feel like I’m just operating in the blind because they really don’t tell you much about what to expect from the program later on or when things will change food-wise. Not my favorite diet app.

Also, I wish it would just sync with MyFitnessPal because the food database there is so much better, and if you eat it at a restaurant, it’s a lot more difficult to track that meal in G-Plans.

Pros:
-The food each day has pics (but they are also often not an accurate representation of what you’re eating)
-You can swap recipes
-The recipes are easy to access each day
-The barcode scanner feature is handy

G-Plans If you want a nightmare experience, go ahead and download

I wish I would have read the reviews before I tried it. I was totally excited for what I though would be helpful but which in the end turned into a nightmare. First off, I signed up on my web browser not realizing there was an app and as I was signing up I clicked no to the year subscription (but still was getting charged for it, then hounded with additional products four other times. I then got the app as suggested through the site. It made me go through the entire question and answering process not once, not twice, but six times. Upon completion, it then said it couldn’t give me a meal plan. I then try to cancel it through the app and it wouldn’t work. Kept taking me to the website again. The next day I tried to log in again and cancel it on the app and it wanted me to redo all the questions again, luckily I could skip through them, only to have issues cancelling again. Finally after many many many attempts and several hours trying to figure out how to get rid of it I was able to cancel it only to see that it said I had a years subscription. Multiple emails later, and after asking for a refund that I still haven’t got, not even the initial $39 refundable one, was told that it is canceled and they were sorry but wanted feedback. Well it would be appropriate to make sure I get a proper refund that was guaranteed as the 30 day money back guarantee, but they aren’t even attempting that one. I looked at my card statement and emails I received and it showed that I did get the $39 charge, but the years worth got declined, which thank God because they would never refund that from what I have read. Basically don’t do this, unless you want to waste your time. They don’t even list a customer service number to call them, which is SHADY, they only list the support email which isn’t exactly helpful. Very crappy two days.

G-Plans It is a SCAM!

This is a SCAM! I wish I would have done more research before getting wrapped up in this company. I initially thought, I would be paying $39 per month for my plan. After I put my debt card info in, they offered me a “Bundle.” I declined this bundle, and moved on with the sign up process. At the end I realized that there was never a check out after the bundle was offered, or confirmation page on how much I would be charged. Within 5 minutes I was charge $288 total. My bank initially declined the charge. I asked them to make sure this payment doesn’t go through. I tried emailing them requesting a cancellation, because this is not what I signed up for and I cannot afford it. Larry for G-Plans told me that I was in “Late Pay” status, and there was nothing he could do. The next day my bank allowed the charge to go through. After going round and round with them on the phone because of my request the day before. They are finally working on the fraudulent charge. I tried emailing G-Plans back, and requesting a refund and cancellation. I was denied the refund. Larry told me that I had selected the bundle, and this bundle doesn’t allow refunds. I told him there is a glitch in their system, because I know for a fact I did not select the bundle. He then emailed back and stated there was nothing wrong with their system and the only way to get charged this amount is to select this bundle. (Basically called me a liar) I told him I will return anything that is sent to me and I have not used any online platform yet, and begged this man to issue a refund. I was then denied again. Each time this man responded to me, he continued to fluff up G-Plans and told me to try it. And this last email was no different.

Please Buyer BEWARE! There are so many other companies you can try to get healthy and lose weight. DO NOT use this one….They are SCAM Artists!

G-Plans Wrong macros and fatter than ever

When I first started the G-Plans quiz it defaulted me into KGs instead of LBs. Unknowingly I enter my lb’s into a kg box so my starting weight was over double of my actual weight.

As soon as I downloaded the app I said I lost over 200lbs to get me back to my actual starting weight and followed my plan for a week. I was suspicious with the food servings as they were quite large. I ended up gaining 2lbs the first week and reached out to customer service having a suspicion that the starting weight I entered affected my macros. After 3-4 days to get my starting weight/macros changed by tech support that offered me a week free after I had to ask for it.

I continued my second week of G-Plans to only find that I was still gaining weight. Now that I went to make my 3rd weeks meal plan I added the same recipes as previous weeks to see if my food amounts were different during weekly setup and they were DRASTICALLY different. I mean they recommend 6oz chicken breast for a meal and in my setup I saw it reduced to 1oz. Upon the meal plan building I checked the recipes again seeing all of my serving sizes were back up to this ridiculous amount of food. I even meal prepped 10 meals and now I feel like I can’t eat them because I’m scared that my meal plan is still messed up and I don’t want to continue gaining weight.

On top of that I thought I’d try a Nutritionist to help me figure out what’s happening with my macros. I paid and then couldn’t even book in my first session because the apps input fields are all messed up with white on white fields. For instance, when I type in my number the field looks empty and when I tried to select a date the entire date picker was moving because I could feel the haptics but couldn’t see any content. So now I’ve paid $50 and haven’t been able to book a session.

I’ve reached out to customer service again to address all the above but I reached out at night. Now I’m anxious I won’t hear from them and I would have wasted 3 weeks gaining weight and throwing my money and time down the drain.

G-Plans Don’t fall for this $$$ gimmick

The app is inferior and it’s not worth $39 PER MONTH, and the fact that it’s a reoccurring payment won’t be divulged until you get an email after you’ve made the purchase just a few days before they plan to charge you again. Really don’t like that it was so sneaky about the reoccurring payment. I should have known this product is worthless when they tried to market the “upgraded plan” for $199 bucks initially, when I declined it came back at $99 then I declined again and it gave an offer for $60... Even at $60 there is most likely at least a 90% profit margin. Grossly overpriced and are basically stealing people’s money for the subpar product being offered. The quality of the app and the meal plans are just not worth the price. There are sooooo many other apps that are MORE effective with more accuracy of substituting options for free or a fraction of the price. I downloaded a different app that has custom meal plans, PLUS WORKOUTS & MUSIC for $45 a year! This app won’t even allow you to alter a meal once it’s been entered. It’s just a gimmicky start up IMO. The creator just wants to continue making profits but now off the masses. This product needs A LOT of work before it’s anywhere near viable. Needless to say, I canceled this useless and overpriced subscription. If my review seems a bit harsh, it’s bc I genuinely do not wish anyone to fall for it like I did. I wasted $45 on an app that was unable to perform what it promised and I canceled within the first month - I really should have went through the trouble to get a refund. Seriously, don’t waste your time buying this unusable “product”. After so many bad reviews over several months and still no real fixes just shows how little the creator cares and is only out to make easy money off people looking for help, pitiful and unprofessional business... if they put half the amount of effort and resources into the app as they put into marketing to potential buyers their app would actually work. Honestly can’t express how much of a disappointment this app and its service proved to be.

G-Plans Wish I’d done more research

First I’ll say that the actual app itself is fine- definitely areas for improvement for user experience, but the recipes have been good and I’ve appreciated the tips (though there are many grammatical errors, which was slightly concerning given the price point).

All of that said, the way they operate financially is shady. I originally saw and IG ad boasting a $30 plan, and thought I’d look into it. I quickly realized that to get the FULL benefits, I’d need to upgrade to the annual plan for $190. I still thought that seems worth it given all that was included, so I proceeded and purchased supplements separately.

I was then charged $317 and was extremely confused. Reached out to G-Plans to see what this was, and was told that I had apparently also subscribed their accelerator plan, which includes supplements, a hat, and a cookbook (none of which I was aware of or ever received) for $98, AND apparently a 2-week accelerator plan for $29 (what this plan offers is unclear to me still). I have no recollection of agreeing to these add ons, but was willing to accept the fact that maybe I did blindly.

I asked for a refund for the supplements I purchased separately given they were apparently included in the price I’ve already paid. That request was denied. They apparently do ZERO refunds unless you are a pro plan member (wonder how that much costs?) or if you contact them within 5 hours of the original purchase. I made this purchase less than 7 days ago, and am asking for a refund on a duplicate item, and am still being told no.

I called their customer service and Gerald was friendly but still told me he personally could not do anything for me. His supervisor was “in a meeting” so I should call back in an hour. Not holding my breath that I will ever be able to reach someone who will refund me at this point.

Any “good” perception i initially had about this app has been completely tainted by the shady business practices. There are so many other meal plans, weight loss apps, etc. out there that are SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable AND have excellent customer service. If you’ve made it this far- don’t waste your time or money here.

G-Plans Ambitious, Well Meaning but Glitchy App

Based on well-respected nutritionist to the stars Dr Philip Goglia’s approach to nutrition, as outlined in his book Turn Up the Heat, the app is ambitious in its scope and promise to provide a tailor-made nutrition program that will allow the user to lose fat (and hopefully weight), while eating what turns out to be ENORMOUS amounts of food that supports their metabolic type (carb, fat & protein, or dual), while keeping their metabolism at its most burning efficient. The science seems sound and, with so many satisfied Hollywood stars singing his praises, it is definitely worth a try (at $39.99 monthly or $99 quarterly). It does however, require a willingness to trust what it asks of you over those 12 weeks, as the recommended menu shifts to reflect the right proportions of food types for your metabolic type (which it does) and is supposed to change every week to accommodate the specific changes in your shrinking body (which it DOES NOT - the menus seem fixed and are offered each subsequent week REGARDLESS of weight or dimension changes).

Over my 12 weeks, my waist and hips dropped an inch, but I am 4 lbs HEAVIER than when I started (I kept working out, so I guess it is all muscle?), so I definitely lost fat, but didn’t really achieve my goal of actually weighing LESS. I feel stronger, have no more strong cravings, appreciate drinking all the water, the food exchange system in the app offers real insight into how to keep eating a varied diet with an inexhaustible list of food substitutes and portion sizes to keep you on track - you really learn about food; but the commitment might be daunting for some and EXPENSIVE.

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. There is no phone number, just a chat box that comes up in the app itself. Answers to questions look cut and pasted and are not tailor-made to answer specific user questions.

The app is ambitious and well meaning, but my experience hasn’t matched the amazing stories his book and website offer. I am pretty disciplined, enjoy cooking and stuck to the plan. I imagine that a personal consultation with Dr G would have yielded different results, so the claim that the app is a worthy substitute, falls short for me.

G-Plans Don’t Make Speedy Decision

I made a mistake by making a quick decision to get this app. When I saw the advertisement on FB for G-plans, I was excited that I found something that would work for me and there was a good discount. I clicked the link and started readying carefully the information because I wanted to be able to make an educated choice. About a fourth away down I noticed a timer ticking down and there was literally 30 seconds left on the clock and it declared that the discount would be invalid once the time expired. From what I had read the price was about $39 plus a $20 box of supplements. So I thought to myself, “okay, I can give this a try for $60 for 3 months and if it doesn’t work for me then I’m just out 60ish bucks. No big deal.” I then get an email about 10 minutes later with a receipt saying that I just spent $288 for a year subscription. I panicked because that’s a lot of money for me to spend on something that I don’t know if it will work for me. I called and was on hold for 20 minutes and was hung up by automated voice saying no one could answer my call. So I got online and tried to cancel, I was able to cancel but it said nothing about a refund. An email was provided if I had any questions, so I emailed it asking about a refund and explained that I didn’t fully understand that I was signing up for a years worth. I got a quick response telling me that if I would have read the “terms and conditions” then I would have realized that a refund is not possible for heavily discounted product and that I only canceled the auto-renew so I won’t be charged next year. She advised that I take advantage of my year subscription and she wished me luck. For the last week, I have been trying to take her advice and take advantage of the app and the subscription. However, the meal plans and the app aren’t compatible with my life. I don’t have time to make 3 meals a day or the budget to buy some of the ingredients required for the recipes. I tried to create my own recipes but the ingredients couldn’t be found or the brand wasn’t the right one. I’m very disappointed in myself for letting a time limit persuade me to impulse buy a product that won’t work for me. My husband already sat me down and explained to me to never buy something with a deadline since I won’t have time to make a proper decision. I hope no one else plays the fool like I have.

G-Plans Warning: Do not sign up for this program

Im not sure if this app is a scam or just has really bad customer service but either way I would not recommend joining this program.

My first mistake was opting in to the 5 free meals they advertise in the app and tell you that you need to complete the box. They charge for the shipping which for me was $10.99, which I didn’t mind and picked the meals I wanted. The problems started when I was charged $75 for the next weeks meals. They basically trick you into getting the free meals, to then sign you up for the weekly meal prep plan. But they do not make it clear that you will be charged weekly which wouldn’t be the biggest deal if I was actually able to cancel the plan from my app, which I can’t. The feature to cancel the meal plan won’t work.

At this point I was so frustrated with the app and wasn’t really that impressed with the features of the program anyway so I figured I’d just cancel the whole thing. I tried using the chat feature to get a refund and cancel my account but they want you to cancel through the app features. Which I went to do and they instead offered a discounted price per month, which I fell for. That was my second mistake.

Don’t fall for the discounted price, because after that they won’t let you cancel the program without calling. Which also wouldn’t be a problem, if they actually answered the phone. They did refund me for the meal plan when I was trying to cancel through the chat feature but they didn’t refund me the plans price or cancel my account like I asked. They tell you that because you have a discounted price you need to call to cancel now. I have called 4 times at this point and have not been able to speak with a support agent still. Every time I call they say there are no support agents available. I’ve called early, mid day, at the end of the day. They are never available. I’m not sure if I’m just having the worst luck with this place but all I know is I will never recommend this program or app to anyone.

I have been charged $230 at this point ($75 was refunded) and I have only had the app for 1 month and 1 week. I originally signed up at $39/month. Which, since I’m already talking about all the problems with this program anyway, they make it seem like the $39 is a flat rate fee, not monthly. Which I should have taken as a hint as to what a mess this was going to be. I still have no idea when I will be able to speak with someone about finally canceling my account.

I’m so fed up. I just want a refund and to cancel my account. I feel trapped with them having my card information and charging me weekly and monthly for something I cannot cancel.

G-Plans Solid diet plans; pretty, but terrible, app

Edit: I just got a response from the app developer, one year on from when I posted my original review. Apparently they now have 24/7 chat support, which sounds like a big improvement.

However, I’m no longer using the app or this program. After one of the support agents suggested “cutting carbs” to help me out of a plateau, I did just that. Doing so helped me drop weight quickly, but it also put me out of sync with the app, and after a couple of months, it became too much trouble to play with the app to make it “fit” my new low carb/high fat lifestyle. Add in intermittent fasting, which helped even more, and the whole “eat 7x a day” thing no long fit my lifestyle either!

I’m actually upping my review to 3 stars, though, because while ultimately I had to leave the program, opting instead for LCHF and IF, this app did get me off to a solid start to the 70+ pounds I eventually lost. The encouragement and coaching helped put me in a positive mindset. And I had zero issues when I cancelled.

Final note: Read Jason Fung, MD’s book “The Obesity Code”, and you’ll understand why weight gain happens, and how to reverse it. For me, that book was the key.

Here’s my original review:

After 11 weeks on this plan and attempting to use this beautifully-designed but often useless app, I’ve grown very frustrated. While the diet seems based in sound nutrition, and definitely helped me with making a gradual transition to a healthier way of eating, there have been so many issues with the app that I’ve nearly given up on both it and the entire Goglia system in favor of Carb Manager, which is a much simpler, not-at-all-buggy app. Dr Goglia seems like a very nice man who has done very well as a diet guru to the stars. If he wants to be in the app business as well, he needs to get serious about — by which I mean spend money on — three things: a solid, well-managed development process with decent QA (so that errors don’t creep in, like, oh, I don’t know, inflating the number of carbs in a meal by 10X for no discernible reason, a bug that has existed in the g-plans app for at least three weeks by my count); support staff who give actual advice about the nutritional and lifestyle aspects of the plan; and a support system that’s available 24/7 rather than just Monday to Friday 9-5. The support staff seem overworked and underinformed, which must be equally frustrating for them. The claimed reason for only having them work 9-5 Monday-Friday is to give them life balance, which is a laudable goal. But it’s not feasible in the world of apps, where your users may need support during the weekend or in the evening. The answer is to staff up and have some shift workers even if you need to outsource them. (A great example to follow is FitBit’s — their support is available 24/7 and very well trained.) None of this is cheap, I know, but given the fees Dr Goglia must charge his actual clients at his clinic, I’m sure they’d be manageable. And they are absolutely necessary.

G-Plans App needs work

I want to be clear that my rating is of the app, not the program. I love the program, it takes the guess work out of everything. I don’t like having to spend a lot of time figuring out all the details of what I need to eat and why, reading nutrition labels, so I love this program for that. The food is healthy, doesn’t feel like a diet and I can tell the difference in how I feel. I believe this is a really good program, but the app makes it look like a cheap program that could potentially be a scam because it feels like it was an afterthought that was just thrown together to sort of make the program look legit. MAIN ISSUE: It CONSTANTLY freezes. Before this most recent update, I would open it after more than 1 minute of being in it and it would be frozen when I open it. I would have to wait for it to unfreeze EVERY SINGLE TIME I used it. It usually was okay after that initial frozen period when I first opened it but since the update, on top of it initially freezing, it just freezes ALL THE TIME throughout the length of time I use it. It also has added glitches where I try to scroll but it takes me back to the top. This latest update has SERIOUS bug issues that need fixing. INGREDIENT SWAPPING: In general it’s not super user-friendly. It is designed to be effective even if you follow it 70%, so I should be able to swap an ingredient with ANY ingredient, but when I try to swap an ingredient in a recipe ahead of time, it only lets me swap approved ones. Sometimes I just can’t use any of those, whether it’s because it’s too specific and I can’t find it or I just don’t like it. GROCERY LIST: The grocery list could be improved. For example, they have stuff under “meat” category that is not even sort of meat. It’s not that annoying, but just needs improvement. CHALLENGES: They say in their stories that they have challenges and when you complete them you win things. Yet so far there is nothing I have received. There’s not even a section to track that you have completed the challenge, they just mark it as “completed” in the story the next day without knowing if we actually did it and I have received nothing as a reward. The stories in general just seem like not much effort was put into them, they don’t really feel individualized. GRAMMAR: There is frequent spelling and grammar errors in the app, I mean basic stuff. I will read a sentence and they either forgot the punctuation or likely it’s missing a word or two because I just look at it like “huh? What are they saying?”This really needs to be fixed because it just adds to the “is this a scam” feel. An app that goes to a program that costs users a minimum of $40 a month for the base package should not have constant grammar and spelling issues, it makes it look cheap and haphazard. For the amount of money that the program costs, the app should be better. Overall, the app makes you question how much effort they put into everything because it just is basic, with a lot of problems. I understand they probably spend A LOT of time on the meal plans, but they need to seriously improve the app.

G-Plans Amazing life changer!

Hope to inspire you with my 8 week update:
I am not looking for empathy, sympathy, or attention from this post. I simply want to inspire others whom might have similar health issues and are changing their lifestyles here like I am.
Here is my story:
Numerous surgeries from auto accident in 2011 had me in wheelchair too long, pain meds, bad diet, and no other meal plan helped me reverse this added weight.
Diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome about 2012.
Total Hysterectomy March 19 with Estrogen deficit issue for 8 weeks. Back on track now.
Hysterectomy limitations lifted just now. Not even pushing a vacuum cleaner or carrying more than ½ gallon milk. No stretching due to lots of internal sutures.
Diagnosis of Overactive Bladder and now on medication 2 weeks.
Limitations of bilateral knee injuries prevents me from kneeling, ever.
Limited movements of SI joint due to another auto accident. Awaiting surgical date to fuse SI Joints which will put me into a wheelchair for 3 weeks with no weight bearing and relearning to walk after that.
Started G-Plan May 1.
Inquired with admin as to why I was gaining inches and weight.
Started on 2-Week Accelerator program as we determined my metabolism and hormones was all out of whack, I called it running in reverse! Hormones from Hysterectomy played a large part here.
Finished 2-Week Accelerator program as I was supposed to be finishing week 4. This unique switch has me finishing week 8 on the calendar last night but in the program, I am starting week 5 today. I am going forward no matter what.
Cleared by dr. this week to slowly reenter my exercise program and decided to start that today to be at the beginning of a new check in week.
Before the program:
I NEVER drank water. I detested it! I usually drank heavily sugared coffee and iced tea. Maybe 2 sodas a week.
Due to medical issues of High Gluten Sensitivity I have been GF for 10 years.
Had a strong marriage with sugar and candy! My go to for stress was candy or chocolate.
Salted many foods unnecessarily.
Never measured any food, just put it on the plate and ate until my mind was content.
Never ate fat. Detested it. Raised that way. Except for real butter.
Drank nut milk but ate cheese daily.
Medical records from urinalysis (from diagnosis bladder issue since December) showed I was severely dehydrated.
Cravings for sweets several times daily.
Today:
Hormones well balanced into normal levels again.
Urinalysis now shows I am very well hydrated.
I drink the maximum water daily, finishing my last 24oz water bottle with dinner at 6pm so I can sleep at night.
I no longer dread fixing dinner and look forward to the variety of meals and snacks daily.
After the second week I surprised myself when I discovered I was happy to drink my morning fix of coffee and coconut milk with 1/3 of the sugar. I am on my way of completely 'divorcing sugar'.
Sleep has improved with the exception of SI joint but that will be taken care of soon.
Energy level has skyrocketed! Hubby even asks me to stop walking around the house so much.
I consulted the nutritional counselor (Carlee Weatherby) here and my plan was tweaked for my lack of mobility issues.
I now know ‘why’ I was unable to fuel my body properly before finding Dr. Goglia.
Now there is fun in trying new methods to prepare the correct foods my body needs
This support group has awesome members and an admin team including Pilla Canela, Gino Mercado and Maria Valencia!
This support group has assisted me learn to navigate my way through my personal meal plan and introduced me to new food products I never would have put in my grocery cart before.
This group has shown me that others (whom have the same/similar concerns, and questions as I do) can persevere with the life changes we are all making here. We can learn from each other as we share our frustrations, get support from others, see other posts and become inspired to continue through our ‘rough patches’ to see a wonderful result we would have missed if we quit our plan.
I cannot say THANK YOU to EVERYONE loud enough.
Today, at this part of my journey with NO exercise to speak of, I am so happy to say my fat is down 7%, and weight is down a solid 7 pounds. Since I didn’t start measurements until 4 weeks ago, the measurements in the past 4 weeks has me down 2” on each hips and waist. The added mental ‘good feeling’ is my total body measurement including limbs, has decreased in the past 4 weeks a total of 12 ½"! Wow! I am so very grateful for everyone here who has posted their personal stories and progress (to keep me going) along with their questions from which we are all learning from.
Hopefully after reading my journey here for 8 weeks, you will be able to overcome any obstacle you may face now or in the future. Together we can do this!
Have a Blessed Day everyone!

G-Plans SCAM

As soon as I clicked on my email and discovered I had been charged $288.00 dollars I began calling. I got no response. My bank card was charged immediately and I called Apple to let them know that this APP was a SCAM AND A RE-DIRECT. I actually clicked on the PEGAN DIET & was redirected to the G PLAN web site. I stupidly thought it was a one time charge AND no place does it state that it is a reoccurring monthly charge. I read about a booklet that could be purchased and clicked on it to read more. To finalize my transaction I had to verify my email address. When I did I saw the total charge of $288.00. To be totally honest I did not know that the $39 dollars was a reoccurring monthly charge until reading what had happened to other customers. I am not a victim of scam artists typically but this one got me;(
I have closed my card, filed a dispute,…… (spoken to the g-plan customer service representative I am not getting a refund because I UPGRADED SHE SAID…no I didn’t click ANYTHING @@@@since when are you charged for reading? @@@@),……. contacted the ComplaintsBoard.com, APPLE STORE, Facebook is next and twitter is coming.. Did I say I write blogs?

G-Plans Would give zero stars (for App not the plan) if it was an option

While I really like the food planning part (swap foods etc) the app is soooo lacking. It seems as if the developers didn’t even bother to have a look at some higher rated nutrition apps.

Exercise tracking: conspicuously missing some basics . No option to select...the commonly practiced Vinyasa Yoga or Pilates or frequently used elliptical. However you can select curling, boxing (in ring), fencing, gymnastics which would work well for their Olympian subscribers. Unicycle is another option .

Also, you can’t amend exercise from app. For example, I erroneously logged an exercise 2x. Was told by the chat support (which isn’t available on weekends) that I had to fix on the website version?!? Who uses websites?!?

Measurement Tracking: no option to record thighs, hips, arms..only chest and waist (seriously?!? Why on earth would these not have been added?!?)..especially for women.

Again, seems the developers didn’t even bother to see what highly rated nutrition and fitness tracking apps have.

This stuff needs to be fixed. App is lacking and too hard to use.

I’m excited about the eating plan. App..needs some serious help to bring it into 2018.

G-Plans DO NOT BOTHER WITH THE APP

10/30. Do not bother downloading the app. It does NOT work. You have to access the services via a web browser. So if you still want their services don’t download the app and make sure you plan on using through your web browser, which is not optimized for phone use, so you need to be on a computer to utilize! I’ve been trying for over a month to get the app to work and they don’t care. Use the web access they say. If you have problems don’t expect customer service to help you. I would also recommend trying the website first because there are no refunds in the discounted plans. So if you buy a year at discount, like I did, and then can’t access it they don’t care and will not offer a refund.
If you look at the reviews from ‘most recent’ there are a clump if good reviews all within an hour of each other. People who have been on it for a year and then decided to write a good review, all at the same time. Looks to me like they are trying to cover their tracks by having employees write false reviews. They need to be removed from the App Store.
I updated yesterday (10/4) and now the app won’t open. I have a paid account that I can no longer access on my phone :(

G-Plans Wish someone would have told me

So it’s pretty much am overprices generic meal plan. I feel dupped and scammed I thought it would be a customized plan... I don’t know why oh yeah cause that’s how they described it’s!

It’s really a robot giving you a generic meal plan. Customer service is also a joke. They take forever to answer any question you may have. They don’t update or change your meal plan if you bring up a concern. I did the plan for over 6 weeks with no change. So I reached out to see if they would customized it. No! I purchased the 3 month plan for 100$ and all they want to do I s constantly up sell you. They offer no type of refund for the unused months that I don’t plan on using it anymore. The plan may work for some however their buisness tactics are a scam.

The Facebook group is also disappointing every time you ask the group a question the moderators jump in to say that’s. Question for customer service. They don’t allow for an honest conversation and shut it down. Even go as far as deleting comments.

I really wanted this program to work however it did not for me and they don’t care all they want is for you to buy pills, protein powder and one on one phone calls. Not worth the money.

G-Plans Do NOT sign up for this!

The website was misleading, I signed up and downloaded the app and it was not at all what I thought it was going to be. Ok, no problem, I will cancel it. Except you can’t. The app says to take curtain steps and then tells you that you actually have to call. I called and had to leave a message. Didn’t hear back. I tried again and the app let me leave a text message. Never heard back. I tried again and this time the app required me to call again. When I called, the message was that there was an hour wait, please leave your number and we will return your call. Never heard back. Left another message in the app. Disputed it with my credit card company. I FINALLY got through to someone today and calmly told them to cancel it and that if I got charged again I would report them for fraud. The woman said, “Relax, ma’am, there is no reason to be upset.” ! You’ve charged me almost $100 and you think I shouldn’t be upset?! I did get an email that it was canceed so here’s hoping.

Updated to add response to developer comment: Your response does not address my complaint in any way. You are using predatory practices to steal money from your subscribers. I will be reporting you to the relevant parties.

G-Plans Total Scam. Check ComplaintsBoard.com, Trustpilot, and other sources first

Their signup page is the most deceptive sign up page I’ve ever seen. They present a killer value of $698 bundles and discounted for only $39. It never says $39/mo anywhere but at the very bottom in tiny print. Why don’t they just say $39/mo everywhere the price is shown? Oh, because they’ll lose sales by being transparent. Everywhere on the page it says you can cancel for any reason if not satisfied with no asterisks or flags that say there are exceptions. At the very bottom they have a not saying you can cancel for a full refund in the first 30 days excluding the pro plan. Yet, the $39 bundle isn’t the pro plan. At check out it shows $39 total. Yet, my bank account was charged $288. When I contacted them to cancel and get a refund they said I didn’t qualify because I got a discounted bundle and the terms and conditions state bundles don’t qualify for the 30 day refund guarantee. Why are they showing the refund guarantee 3+ times on the bundle page without flagging that exceptions apply. Even better…why show the guarantee at all when you’re only selling a specific bundle that doesn’t qualify. There weren’t multiple options on that page. G-Plans is a scam. Class action lawsuit coming their way.

G-Plans So Disappointed!

Signed up 4 weeks ago so encouraged by Dr Goglia reputation and watching him diagnose contestants on Revenge Body- with results...With that said, spent 39.99 to start first month. Downloaded this App which does make you accountable and spell out Weekly plan. (Dealt with App issues, etc not running to par FYI). Followed my diagnosed Protein Fat Efficient plan to the absolute letter and logged every meal. And did not even drink or have a “cheat meal”! Drank more then my daily recommended amount of water and exercised almost daily. Absolutely NO weight loss and nominal inch or two loss only 2nd week then nothing. Called Support and made sure I was diagnosed correctly- gave blood results to confirm yes. I was given about 1500 calories plus first 2 weeks w sooo many carbs and calories increased to almost 2000 last 2 weeks - what is going on!? I know this is “a process” and you are told to want to take up LESS space in the room and not go by a scale but people I am only trying to lose 8 pounds! I was on a low fat, no carb, no sugar prior and seemed to be thinner... I want this to work- I enjoy eating good, healthy, normal food again but something is not right. I see NO reviews online about any success stories either. I would be open to any call from the G-Plan staff.

G-Plans Very unhelpful

I tired this app hoping for something to guide the way I think about my metabolism and my diet. At first I thought the quiz was helpful in understanding my own body. The test of the app goes downhill. They do very little to teach you the why behind anything they tell you to do. Everything seems like a last minute decision and it makes meal planning very hard:
- the grocery list glitches and does not include everything you need to prep the meals
- the grocery app only updates on Wednesday’s, making grocery trips any other day of the week guess work
- the meals are told to you the day you are supposed to eat then, so meal prepping or batch cooking is difficult.
- they never explain why the choices they are making for you are beneficial

I got tired of trying to keep up with cooking all these different meals with no notice and frustrated that I was not learning anything about how to be healthy.

VERY GLITCHY APP: I went into the app and cancelled my account through settings. The app then changed to a blank screen, which I assumed meant that it was deleted. It turns out, you cannot actually cancel the account from the app and you MUST contact customer service. I did not find that out until I was charged for an additional month I did not use.

I would not recommend this app

G-Plans Great idea, some functions didn’t work

I’ve used Weight Watchers for years, but I was looking for something a little more tailored to me. Pros: The test was fun and shed some insight. The recipes are fairly simple and enjoyable. Cons: One of the main reasons I was looking forward to this app was the ease of picking recipes that then generated a grocery list(saving me about 2 hours every Sunday planning). Imagine my frustration when after shopping I came home to find that my grocery list was fairly incomplete. You see, all the “free foods” like condiments, spices, sauces, curry pastes, fresh toppings(liked diced tomato for tacos) don’t generate in the grocery app. So just like WW(but for more money) I’m left spending time hand writing out a grocery list doing math on ingredients times x amount of meals etc. Making the grocery function useless. My other issue is that the app is glitchy. Often takes too long to load, doesn’t seem to receive the signal from my touchscreen until multiple attempts, and not infrequently just needs to reboot. If they fix the grocery list and the lags, I’d love this app. I think the concept behind this eating plan is a good one. But it was not well executed app wise. I’ve yet to be able to input my water intake. So frustrating. If it’s not fixed soon I’m going to cancel unfortunately.

G-Plans Not happy at all

Just signed up last week. Was super excited at the thought of finally getting my meals under control, but so far I am really disappointed. As others have stated, the app is extremely buggy and modifying meals is almost completely useless. I’m a web developer and if you open up the browser dev console, you can see dozens and dozens of JavaScript errors... Changing portion sizes does not “stick”... When adding “off-plan” items to a meal, nutritional info can not be modified or adjusted... you cannot add your own items... recipes have nothing in common with the listed meal plan’s Protein / Fat / Carb / Calorie limits... printing a weekly grocery list does not work... you cannot change when your week plan starts / ends (mine runs Tues - Mon for some strange reason)... and customer service is a complete joke... I’ve pinged my “rep” with multiple questions about the app and my account and I’ve received one terse response that didn’t answer anything... unfortunately I’ve been signed up for the “3-month” pre-pay plan and already been charged $99, plus the $200+ for supplements, protein powder and cookbook (which I didn’t actually order)... and reading these other reviews, I’m worried they’re gonna keep charging me even if I cancel... FB and Apple need to give these guys the boot!

G-Plans Good food plan, worst app ever

Tricky review to write. The food plan itself is really good, solid. The issue is the God awful app which may be, literally, the *worstapp I’ve ever used. That’s not hyperbole. It’s REALLY bad. From being slow and clunky, not remembering “swap out” items, tracking meals on it’s own and not allowing you to untrack...the list goes on. All of which I thought I could work with until this morning.

Here is a massive, fatal flaw in this app: You prep for seven days of food. Within this you’re able to see the next seven days, even look at a shopping list. If you’re on the final day it’s fairly vital to shop prior to running out of food, correct? However, once you’ve done this, on the next day, the app asks for a “check in” questionnaire. Based on those answers, it changes your week, even though you’ve already planned your week based on the information the app already gave you. And those two weeks, food wise, are completely and utterly different. On top of the fact the app and web site don’t consistently “talk” to each other...this is kind of nightmare-ish for anyone who really wants to track.

So, lesson learned. Wait until my food is completely exhausted. Take this “quiz.” Allow the app to utterly change. Then shop. Super effective (*insert rolling eyes here*).

For $40 a month (the price of the plan) this should be seamless. I’m super bummed.

G-Plans APP MUST IMPROVE

It’s visually appealing- but from an IT perspective and an analyst here’s my input and observations thus far.

It’s kluge, underdeveloped and lacks some key functionality.

WEB/APP are not succinct they present different information.

Not a calorie program - I want the option to just show me the macros to stick too and hide the calories. If you’re embarking on something NEW and to change the way people think about fueling their bodies and stoking that furnace, why perpetuate the calorie thinking and mindset?

Lacks functionality to create/add meal (yes I went over and wanted to account for this) build your own recipe /meal with ability to select bread/Veggie/Fruit based on metabolic type and take a photo

Plan and Mark as Cheat Meal

Lacks Notes eg how was I feeling - how did the day go etc. How did I sleep? Rate my stress level.

GROCERY LIST
Recipes don’t add all ingredients; is in disarray needs category organization eg VEGGIES; MEATS etc like a grocery store setup. Ability to add to grocery list - I’m busy I want a single source - this is critical for families.

Although I am not Vegan I have food intolerances I chose this plan to eliminate things like eggs but someone posted the Plantain pancakes - I would sub a flax egg. I’d rather have a full database of recipes that I can filter on GF/V or Vg with the recipe option of V or Vg substitutions to select.

G-Plans DO NOT RECOMMEND - MISLEADING

First off, do not click the add-ons unless you plan on paying for it as soon as you click it. I thought it was like an “add to cart” type situation where you get to confirm the overall price at the end, and that is not the case. It just immediately charges you because you had already put in the card info. I think that is ridiculous and is an absolute selling scam.

Anyways, after that happened, I chose the vegetarian option. The vegetarian options are literally like.. 6 or 7 meals? And if you can’t afford some/don’t like what it is, it gives you less options. Because of this, I decided I will not be using this and I paused my plan.

December 24th I messaged the support chat asking for help about a refund. No response. The next few days, I would message the chat again, and still no response. I then decided to email them on the 27th, and guess what?! Still no response. I had to call them on Monday and ask about a refund, to which I was told that the three month plan does not allow refunds. WELL, I WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN THE THREE MONTH PLAN IF I REALIZED IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE ME AND NOT ASK FOR CONFIRMATION !

Anyways, the representative told me to message his boss about it. I have sent the message on Monday, and there is no response. I am disappointed in the way this set up was created. It is all just to sell product, they don’t care about anything else.

G-Plans scam? Glorified “recipes”

Getting the app I expected a very personalized hands on nutritionist and instead i got this average calorie counting app with a few fancy recipes. I also found when i tried to enter some measurements it started my off at 200 more pounds then I actually was, and I know 100% sure i entered it correctly. So it was really frustrating and I need a nutritionist that is really caring.

Now before I got to see the app it asked me if I wanted to subscribe to a full year. At 2 am I though it would be a good decision. I thought it was good because of the advertisements and I thought it would be as advertised. Nope!

I paid for the month $40 then the full year $121. It made it sound like I was upgrading for a total of 121 but noooo it was an extra 121. And so I paid $161 for an app that was bugged and randomly adding g 200 lb no matter how many time I entered the correct weight and for a few fancy recipients. A bit expensive for a recipe teaching me how to put avocado on toast if you ask me.

Then I contact them to find out that there are no refunds available. This is a scam, of you can offer a refund its because you know to many people will want one back. knowing your product and services do not hold up to the price. They refused to escalate my ticket as well.

Their customer service was extremely slow to responding and it’s just over all not a good experience.

I’m very disappointed with this “company”

G-Plans Not a flexible as it sounds

The recipes that plan suggests are not flexible. Swapping out a food or item in the recipe results in completely throwing of the approved “macro nutrients” for that meal. There is zero support for creating a custom meal, you are locked into their meal plan.
It would be very helpful if there was a macro calculator that lets create meals based on what you have on hand. But that just isn’t the case!
When you ask the support staff for help, you get canned responses that read like a scripted answers.
I am on a limited food budget and therefore can’t just runout to the store and buy new items every week. Also the suggestion for meals it offers are for foods that aren’t yet in season for some areas.
So unless you have a disposable income, g-plans is not for you. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on g-plans and the food.

Update: Buyer beware! When I signed up for G-plans they pushed a hard sell on me to sign up for the “power plan”! Which simply means you pay upfront for 3 months at a discounted price. However at no point in the process was I informed that power plan wasn’t covered by their 100% money back guarantee. So if you are signing up for this plan, beware of the sales tactics. Your money will not be refunded!

Also the developer comments are completely inaccurate. The support staff can tell you which buttons to push. But if you want actually help from a nutritionist, you will be yet again asked to pay none-refundable 40$.

G-Plans This company is a joke!

If I could give zero stars I would. I agree with the previous reviewer that this is a total scam! I was informed prior to my billing date that I need to cancel my plan to avoid being charged $99. I went onto the app and attempted to “cancel” this plan and there is no option to cancel on there. I “paused” the plan hoping it would achieve the same results however it did not. On the day I received the $99 charge I immediately reached out to customer support and received no response for a week. I had to follow back up with them multiple times and I’ve still been fighting back-and-forth for a month now informing them that I could not find the cancel option anywhere on this app and attempted to do so before my charges. I even asked if I could call someone directly to explain the situation and never received any kind of response. Just that there was no refund for this type of plan and that I could still use it for the end of my billing cycle. It took them three weeks to even tell me they didn’t have a call center that I could reach out to. I still to this day do not understand how I would be able to cancel this program online as they’ve still never told me how to do so. Customer service was horrible, this app is horrible, this company is horrible. Based on the other reviews of the functionality of the app and the unauthorized charges they will not refund you for, I would never recommend using this company for anything! Complete waste of money for this app.

G-Plans Good in theory, not in practice

After using the app for a week 1/2 now I find it more frustrating than useful.

PROS:
1. recipes automatically calculate portion sizes and plan our your week. Saves a ton of time looking up healthy recipes and planning! I love this feature.
2. Tracking meals in a food diary and giving you options of easy, moderate, more complicated recipes.

CONS:
1. lack of options in lunch/dinner recipes, especially if you don’t eat meat. I was bored with the few options by week two. You’re super limited to a couple recipes. There need to be less time consuming recipes.
2. Planner and food diary don’t have a week view, you can only look at one day at a time
3. Grocery list is only partially useful. There are “free foods” like seasonings or some veggies, or non dairy milks that are put in many recipes but will not show up in the grocery list. You go grocery shopping and won’t have half of what you need for the recipes unless you go into each recipe individually and add yourself the items you don’t already have in your pantry. Defeats the usefulness of the app, honestly, and wastes so much time.
4. Nutritional value of foods not included. Wholesome does a much better job as an app showing you the nutritional value of what you’re eating.
5. Each day takes too long to load. So not only do you have to go into each day and each recipe to figure out what you need to eat/cook, it’s going to take you a long time to do so because of the lag

Needs a lot of work before I’d consider paying monthly for this.

G-Plans A scam

This app is so awful I don’t think I’d use it if it was free. It’s $40 a month for some of the worst app design I’ve ever seen, but the real kicker is, you have to go through a series of hoops to cancel your account. I’m not sure how this isn’t illegal. To cancel you have to call, which is met with a voicemail. Make sure if you’re canceling to email their support email so you have evidence of your attempt to cancel it so they can’t scam you out of more money. I’m honestly shocked. Check the ComplaintsBoard.com website’s ratings for this app for more info.

As for the app design, it’s not intuitive at all and offers little to nothing. The home page is a thinly veiled advertisement, with a tracker for your water and exercise to try to make it seem relevant to you. Even larger are plugs for Dr. Goglia’s blog, supplements, and books. Not very subtle Dr. Goglia. I love the idea of the meal plan and websites but the ingredients for the meals weren’t even importing to my grocery list. The grocery list function was basically useless!

There’s no instruction or recommendation for how much exercise to get.

I tracked food I ate outside of the meal plan and the app didn’t register it.

You can’t change something you’ve already logged i.e. how much water you drank.

Apparently I paused my account but there was no intuitive way to unpause it.

This app looks awful, works as well as using a sponge to try to mop up the ocean.

I’m mainly so angry at this app because of how much potential there is behind the idea and the godawful execution. I could design a better app than this.
