Freelancer.com Horrible experience avoid them

I'm a full-time remote worker. Been on another freelancer site bigger job pool. Big mistake! Signed up, fixed my profile then sent in the KYC verification documents. They did have a question about my location which was understandable because I was in a different country when I signed up. I explained the situation and they accepted the explanation. Now they accepted all my verification info and asked me for an additional document, a bank statement, from the country (let's call it my second home) that I was in at the time. Remember, they already have all of the required documents from my home country. Well, I sent the scanned statement with ALL the information that they requested - my name, residential address, phone number, bank's name, address and telephone number, plus the bank's stamp.

They rejected it and asked me to send a PDF statement that was downloaded directly from my bank's website. I did that, however, the pdf from the site didn't have all of the information that they wanted, and I mentioned that to them because I was still wondering why they needed it because I gave them what they asked for already. Again, rejected and asked me for a SCANNED copy of the bank statement. Mind you, that was the first document that I sent to them. I said, ok, let me try one more time, went back to the bank and had them print a 6-page statement with ALL of the requested info and an official stamp from the bank. Scanned it and sent it. The next day the message I get is "Please send a color copy, we don't accept black-and-white copies of documents"... I had enough, the bank doesn't even have a color printer, because in the country I was in at the time (3rd world) color printers aren't a priority, so it's common not to find them unless you go to a special printer. Also, it's like they don't communicate. One message asked for a scanned copy, and then in another message I was told they don't accept scanned copies - they are clueless and unprofessional. There is no reason for this 48 hour verification process to be this tedious and take 12 days and counting, especially when I've sent so much information already.

Their customer service is horrendous. I had someone that contacted me when I first signed up, he was very nice and helpful, and as soon as I expressed my displeasure with the process and the length of time it was taking, he ghosted me and stopped answering my questions. I tried deleting my account, and they keep sending me back to the verification center, so I'm still waiting for them to do whatever they need to do to get my info and account deleted for good! IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO GET THIS ACCOUNT DELETED PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Recommendation: AVOID THEM!

Freelancer.com The worst experience ever!

Freelancer.com is a terrible platform for hiring. Freelancers spam projects with automated messages and waste your time.

Support is unhelpful, and their verification process is absurd—taking a month instead of 48 hours. They let users sign up with nicknames and filtered images, then flag them later. My account was limited after a gig, preventing payment. Once I settle what I owe, I’m done with Freelancer.

Freelancer.com Suspend

I did a lot of work and won jobs. and suddenly without any notification my account was suspended. when talking to support@freelancer.com they gave me an online ticket link, and it was clear that it couldn't be accessed because I couldn't even log in. so I said give me an explanation in their email but there was no response, it was strange even though I was still working on an unfinished project. what about without the client later? will they drop me?

yes i got my account back, and was charged a $90 suspension fee. You just need to use the email related to the account complaint, it does take a while but when they reply you will understand the problem. Later you will be asked to make a statement and it will be frozen for 30 days before it returns to normal.

Did you manage to get your ID back? I faced a similar issue today. Two days ago, I withdrew some funds, but last night, Freelancer.com rejected the withdrawal without providing any clear reason. When I tried to log in, I discovered that my account had been suspended. I've been working on Freelancer since 2022.

Freelancer.com Got blocked in 5 days

SCAM!

Earned 25$, spent all my 6 bids, was waiting for identity verification and got blocked for no reason.

They say that you receive 50 bids monthly on a free basis, but I had only 6, was waiting the timer to get 1 bid back. Received a proposal from a person who said that she is from the Membership team and bang, next day I'm banned. Why? I don't know, there is an answer from the support team in the attachment.

I have read the reasons to block an account and there was a list of forbidden projects that if you participate with them, you get blocked. I have verified that I have not applied to any of those in the past.

Freelancer.com They stole my money for no reason.

what they are doing is called robbery. a fraud. It's not fair at all. I worked hard for about 2 months to earn some money on a project and I always followed the instructions correctly. it doesn't make sense to have my account blocked while I was talking about a milestone that would be paid within the website, all as per compliance.

Now I simply have no way to access my account and get the money I deserve and worked to earn. How can this be fair and acceptable?

Recommendation: Dont use this site

Freelancer.com Freelancers fee and refunds

I am not all that long on the site of Freelancers.com and have had just bad experiences with all the clients that have contacted me due to the bids on the jobs they listed. Some first try to chat you up in giving you their personal contact details for further communications, then give you a file to go and select the project you would like to work on. Nothing like on the website. When you agree, they claim to keep the position for you but you need to fill out a form and pay a security fee. All this happens off the freelancers website. When you agree, they will then award the job to you to accept, once that is done, they hit you with more contact cost. This result in Freelancers.com to take their fee automatically without knowing at that stage that the client is still trying to lure you for more money.

I have reported all the clients that has conned and still trying to con me. Freelancers support has been great in assisting and deleting such clients job listings etc. They also promised that they will refund the freelancers fee. I did not expect the fee to reflect in my personal account in 2 days and to the cent! Well done guys! I really do appreciate that you guys doe take the best interest at hear of the freelancers on your site. Thank you again.

Freelancer.com Freelancer procedure

Thanks you for having me for your review and hope this would benefits of both of our businesses, out of my experience I wish if we make like the following arrangements (I'm not interfering in the policies I'm just suggesting some of effective let's call it style or procedure to stop fraud people, such as holding the hiring for the freelancer till checked by the support team what I mean here not to wait till the freelancer to report, once the client hires any freelancer, his approval to be holds till checked the docs and or the directions to the freelancer which will stop the try (like what happens with me I almost scammed twice) but when stopped I will b protected not wasted my time reviewing especially like my case so new to the plateform) I know I should read the instructions and tips and tricks and tips on the plateform but also this will keep me safe as new user and would make me feel safe ans encourages more to stick to freelancer plateform. This is just a suggestion you may take it into consideration or not but it's will be a great move for the new users, I know my experience handled very professionally by Judith J, which I appreciate so much abs her bearing with me you should hire more of Judith J, out of an experience as a freelancer, try to communicate with the clients through the platform not outside this way you'll be safe

Freelancer.com Seamless Identity Verification Process - A Game Changer!

My recent experience with Freelancer.com's identity verification process was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the interview process was smooth and efficient, setting the stage for a promising future as a freelancer on their platform.

Freelancer.com A Seamless Verified Badge Interview Experience

I recently completed the Verified Badge Interview process with the Freelancer.com staff, and I must say that the entire experience was both smooth and professional. The Verified Badge is designed to help freelancers stand out on the platform, and I believe it will bring a significant advantage to my profile and credibility. In this review, I will share my experience and thoughts about the interview process.

Scheduling and Preparation:
Setting up the interview was a breeze. Freelancer.com provided clear instructions on how to book the interview, and I was able to choose a date and time that suited my schedule. They also shared a list of topics that would be covered during the interview, which allowed me to prepare accordingly.

The Interview Process:
The interview was conducted via video call, and I was impressed with how punctual and well-prepared the Freelancer.com staff member was. They started by introducing themselves and providing an overview of the interview's purpose and structure. The questions asked were relevant to my skills and expertise, and the interviewer listened attentively to my answers while also taking notes.

The staff member maintained a friendly and professional demeanor throughout the interview, which helped put me at ease. Freelancer.com An Awesome Experience!

I have had the distinct pleasure of speaking with both Macall and Chelsea and found both to be unequalled in their professional and friendly approaches to my inquiry. Not only were they more than happy to go out of their way to assist me, but they were more than able to answer all of my questions in a remarkably speedy amount of time.

Macall is an amazingly professional and impressive staff member at Freelancer. He went out of his way to dig into my previous communications on your site to determine if I had applied for Verification status or not. I had posed the same request of other members of your staff before, but he was the only person who actually searched for the facts and helped me along the Verification path.

And Chelsea responded to my questions immediately and in a much-appreciated detailed manner, all the while being extremely friendly and very willing to please.

This is an awkward reality for anyone in business, not just because of COVID-19, but because there is a serious lack of concern for assisting others, especially in a timely fashion. Chelsea and Macall definitively stand out as a mega stars in this capacity and should be commended, if not rewarded, for their ingenuity and remarkably professional natures.

If you ever need to find two staff members to promote or to congratulate for an outstanding approach with your clients, Chelsea and Macall should be at the top of your list.

Kudos to you, Macall and Chelsea, for making my life so much easier. Thank you from an extremely satisfied freelancer!

Freelancer.com Verification Video Interview with Joey C

My verification video interview with Joey C was an exceedingly pleasant and educational experience. I have a dinosaur of a laptop, and was unsure if it would be able to handle the requirements of video chat technology corresponding to this century. Before the interview, I contacted Joey C via chat and asked him if it was acceptable to use my phone to proceed with the interview. He guided me through the process of using the phone instead of the laptop, and I was able to speak with him at the time we had designated.

The interview process was interesting and informative, and Joey C made me feel comfortable from the beginning of the interview process until the conclusion of our chat. Even though I couldn't see his face, I felt a genuine warmth, interest and natural flow of conversation from his thought-provoking questions and insights. Joey C is both a marvelous interviewer and listener, and he possesses the interpersonal skills necessary for his position.

Throughout the interview process, I felt that his questions were relevant and intelligent. They reflected the culture, expectations and high standards of Freelancer.com, and they also taught me more about the platform and the quality it expects from the freelancers who use the site. After the interview with Joey C was finished, I felt as though I knew more about the platform and how it operates. I felt acknowledged and appreciated as a member of Freelancer.com, and this interview made me feel enthusiastic about working towards the next steps to becoming a Preferred Freelancer. After Joey C and I ended our call, I found myself wishing that we could continue chatting over a cup of tea. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with our conversation and the warmth and professionalism that I experienced this evening. Joey C is an asset to Freelancer.com as an interviewer, and a genuinely nice human being on the other side of the screen.

Freelancer.com Feedback and Appreciation Letter to the Agent Javier

Hi, my name is Jefferson. I'm natural from Brazil but I'm currently living in China.
I created an account when I lived in Brazil Jeffersonbr/***@hotmail.com. Sometime after moving to China, I created a new one Jeffersoncn/***@qq.com because I couldn't update my location since it requires phone verification and I don't have my Brazilian phone number anymore.
After some time inactive, I decided to login in my new account (Jeffersoncn) to apply for projects, but I wasn't able to login, so I contacted Freelancer support by email on June 25th and got a reply from the agent Athena V. saying that my new account got banned. I replied to this email on the same day and didn't get an answer. So, I sent another email on July 2nd and only today July 6th got an reply from the same agent with a literally copy and paste from the first email / robotic reply. It's so frustrating and disappointing. Even if someone made a mistake, this one shouldn't be treated with so little respect. So, I replied to the email and at the same time I contacted Freelancer through Freelancer's Facebook page. Thankfully I met another agent called Javier, who not only explained why exactly my new account got banned, but also oriented me on how to update my old account to my new current location.
According to Javier, Freelancer doesn't allow users to create multiple personal accounts, so I guess that's why my second account got banned. I looked at the user agreement but I didn't see anything related to opening multiple accounts. I thought it was fine, since other companies, such as PayPal allow/recommend their users to create multiple accounts if they are from different countries.
The real reason I'm writing this letter is that I would like extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the agent Javier from Freelancer's Facebook page for such an excellent support and patience.

Best Regards,
Jefferson S. Leitao

Freelancer.com Stole my money

They have stolen my money. I have almost 4500$ money on my account. They have suspended my account without any reason. I have worked hard and earn the money but they took my money without sending any notice. Real scammer. I have good reputations from my client. All on o sudden I couldn’t log in to their platform. I have repeatedly asked them to know the actual reason but they just replied a automated email and after that they stopped to reply my email. At least they should allow my hard earned money from my account. But they stole that.

Freelancer.com Purchasing skills

December 2024: I listed a project and found a designer who was willing to do the work. We agreed a price ($100) and I awarded the project to him. I then paid $130 to freelancer including the processing fees. I was then told by the website that I needed to complete the verification process - which is very difficult since I am a digital nomad, proof of address is rather difficult. However, after several days I managed to get official documentation and uploaded it all in their verification process. Shortly afterwards my account was suspended - I contacted support and eventually they unsuspended my account about 2 weeks later. I logged back in to find the designer still willing to do the work and so I just waited for him.

A day later my account was suspended again! I was informed that I had to complete their verification process - but they wouldn't explicitly say what it was I needed to do to complete this. As I had already given them the required information and couldn't give them any more. At this point I just started asking for a full refund - I gave them my banking details and a bank statement of proof of purchase and during many emails (20-30) I was told that it wasn't technically possible. I repeatedly asked for a refund and they kept refusing on the grounds of "not technically possible" despite me giving them all the information of proof of purchase.

During this time my account was again unsuspended and I tried to withdraw my funds from the site only to be told I had to be verified in order to do it. I cannot complete this process as they reject the information I had already given them. About a week ago I asked to speak to a supervisor and they simply ceased all communications with me. I have sent another 6 or so emails all without any response. To summarise - I paid without verification - they then demanded verification - when I couldn't complete their verification I was stopped from using their services. And subsequently they refused refunding because I wasn't verified.

Claimed loss: $130

Desired outcome: $130

Freelancer.com Account suspension without explanation and withholding of funds

I have a Freelancer account that I primarily use to hire freelancers for SEO work on my Shopify and WordPress websites. As of August 27, 2024, I found myself unable to log in to my account. Initially, I assumed it was a password issue, but after further attempts, I realized that my account had been suspended.

I still have a balance of approximately $200 to $300 in my Freelancer account. I have always adhered to the platform's terms and conditions to the best of my knowledge, and I cannot understand how I could have violated them. I have not been informed of any specific reason for the suspension.

I am deeply concerned that such a large platform can take such drastic action — closing accounts and blocking access to funds — without providing any clear reason or process for resolution. It is incredibly unsettling and disheartening to lose access to my hard-earned money without any explanation. I request that my account be reinstated, or at the very least, that my remaining balance be returned to me.

Desired outcome: Restore my account to normal or provide a full-refund of the account balance.

You’ve clearly put a lot of trust in Freelancer.com, and it’s frustrating to see them shut you out without explanation, especially with your hard-earned money still in the account. Being left in the dark about why your account was suspended is unsettling, and they should address this quickly. They owe you an explanation, if not immediate access to your funds, before they lose your trust completely.

Freelancer.com Scammer Freelancers' Nest

I want to start with my one and only good feedback about freelancer.com. The help desk team works so hard to help and assist you. I'm saying this first cause if you'll ever sign up to that website as an employer YOU'LL DEFINITELY NEED a lot of CUSTOMER SUPPORT. That's because the website policies are not making things easier for anyone.

The main problem is once you put your money in escrow you may never get it back. Although the idea of it is for the employer to be able to get unsatisfied with the service they got from the freelancer and get their money back safely in the first place, it's nothing more than just an idea. Because the website doesn't care if the freelancer that you're working with is a scammer, not helping/replying to you, or the products they've been sending was stolen, corrupted and not working. When you dispute on the job to get your money back, they put you and the freelancer on an "endless argument" page for a week with no authority to decide. If you want to involve an authority you have to pay ANOTHER fee. And after all of that you may still never get your money back! You do one step wrong, BAM! The money went to the freelancer. You answered a day late BAM! Your money is stolen again. They're getting every chance to give the money to the freelancer ignoring all the facts that you put on that useless dispute page. Cause you haven't pay the extra fee for them to CARE yet!

The site management should be a lot more careful about the scammers. That's because you don't understand as an employer who is a scammer. Why? Cause employers can't even leave bad comments on freelancers if they have disputed on the job!

I DON'T RECOMMEND getting into those endless processes and scams, it's not worth it. It's was good idea to make employers and freelancers meet on a safe platform, but freelancer.com hasn't been anything more than being just an idea. And they've ruined that idea too.

As an employer and job owner myself I know how much value you should give to your PAYING CUSTOMERS. I give that value myself but I haven't been receiving it from freelancer.com. Only the Customer Support was trying to help you but the things they can do for you is super limited. So don't count on that. The whole thing is to cover for freelancers in my experience.

Freelancer.com Suspended account

I am shocked to find out that my account on Freelancer.com has been suspended and no explanation why! I have been doing nothing but software development work on projects and my client has been happy with me and I'm still working for him. What the hell?

A few days ago I submitted my identity verification cause I wanted to start withdrawing my funds and was waiting for confirmation. But I guess instead of confirmation I get account suspension? Just stealing money from me?

Claimed loss: Around $700

Desired outcome: Restore my account as it was.

Freelancer.com Freelancer protects scammer

Freelancer.com has for purpose to provide a protected site that links up clients with various online technical services.

Initially, I was impressed with freelancer.com. The instructions were clear and manageable. Three months later, I have been scammed and the management is offering no help to recover my lost money.

Complaint against Shabnam H. For Fraud

Shabnam ***@SHABNAM10AKTHER is a fake.

1. I came here to seek legal advice for two potential lawsuits. My project = Seeking legal advice for a possible loss of income lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Cincinnati
2. SH [abbr for Shabnam H.] made a bid for $25/hr. And she showed me three samples of her work. In reading the samples, I was impressed. Only later, on 12/8 did I discover that she did not prepare any of these samples. She had no legal training whatsoever.
3. At first our working relationship was cordial and productive. SH kept encouraging me saying, "I am making good progress on your Complaint." When I asked to see her work in progress, she tried to distract me. In the end, on two occasions, she refused to show me her work.
4. The first refusal is already erased. The second goes like this:

SH: I am marking that thing which change my me.
8:11 PM
Mills7: Makes no difference. Send what you have now and let me look at it. [My text is highlighted.]
8:11 PM

SH: Okay. Please advise me what you would like to change
8:12 PM
Mills7: For the third time, I say I was referring to the Complaint #2. Send what you have now and let me look at it.
8:13 PM

SH: Have turned on the track changes features for you to see the changes
8:13 PM
Mills7: For the fourth time: I want to see the Complaint #2 now.
8:15 PM
8:18 PM

8:18 PM
Mills7: For the fifth time: I want to see the Complaint #2 now.
8:18 PM

SH: Here I am doing development editing.you want me write down it again
8:19 PM
Mills7: Notice how you ignore my request. You did this three or four times earlier. I want to see it now PERIOD
8:20 PM

SH: Spend one hour improving my letter to the? It's your comment
8:20 PM
Mills7: This is not collaboration. I'm out of here. [I leave the chatroom.]
8:22 PM

SH: I am working on it.most of the time I can't follow exact time.

5. Notice that the English of SH is very stilted. This demonstrates that she could not have written the three samples that she showed me. I no longer have access to these samples since SH has removed them.

6. Here is a small section of the Complaint that SH prepared for me: [replacement words] and

Comes now the Plaintiff, Aaron Mills, and for her [his] cause of action against the Defendant, Sandy Eiynck would state:

1. The Plaintiff is the author of the book titled [entitled], THE DIDACHE, which has performed as a best-selling book over years, and continues to do so.

2. The Defendant is the Director of Finance and Operations of a publishing press by the name of Liturgical Press [hereafter collectively referred to as 'Seller'].

3. The Plaintiff had entered into an Agreement with the Seller to publish and sell his book, in return for an annual payment of Royalty to the Plaintiff.

4. As per the contractual arrangements in place, the Defendant was supposed to make timely royalty payment [payments] to the Plaintiff but they failed to do so, due to which the Plaintiff approached them [her] regarding the payment default. In response to his email, the Plaintiff was offered an explanation by the Staff Accountant for Liturgical Press, Lynn Tamm that the payment could not be made due to bank information available with the Defendant being incorrect.

7. In this small section, I count 18 errors. If I had submitted this Complaint, I would be recognized as someone nearly illiterate. Hence, the Complaint was useless to me. It would damage my reputation to present such a document to my adversaries.

8. In addition, SH was entirely unreliable when I faced an emergency. She submitted the Complaint at midnight of the due date = 12/7. I got up to look at her work. Since it was critical for me to send out her Complaint with my cover letter on 12/8, I asked her three times to agree upon a time to meet when we could discuss the complaint. Again, she used evasion. At the end, in frustration, I wrote: "I am suggesting that we meet at 9am your time tomorrow. If you cannot make it then, suggest another time" [transcribed from memory since it has already been erased].

9. SH did not show up. I left a message: "I was here. You were not here." Then I went out for a dental cleaning. When I returned, I asked her, "Why did you not show up." SH replied that her daily schedule is not fixed so she cannot keep appointments. In reply I wrote, "If this is the case, why did you not tell me this when I was scheduling this meeting." She had no response.

10. My suspicion is that SH refused to show me her work in progress and refused to meet with me to discuss her work for the simple reason that she did not do the work; hence, she was incapable of discussing it with me. She evidently has a legal ghostwriter who prepared the Complaint for her. SH, of course, will never admit this because it would expose her fraud.

11. The fraud perpetrated by SH left me in a terrible position. I discovered the fraud so late that it was impossible for me to begin afresh with a new legal consultant. My two lawsuits will suffer because of this fraud.

12. In addition to this well-rehearsed and deliberate fraud, SH managed to find another of my email addresses. How she was able to do so, I do not know. When I asked her to disclose how she was able to do this, she refused to tell me anything.

Here is the email that she sent me:

Create my complaint against Sandy Eiynck, Director of Finance and Operations, Liturgical Press

Dear Aaron

It is with great sadness that I inform you that, after working hard for the past few days, I finished your first project, you paid me. But that payment has gone back to your account. I don't understand why this happened. Please check your account and contact the freelancer authority and please give me my first project payment.

Thanks!

I understand that this constitutes a serious infraction of freelancer regulations. I leave it to the administration to impose suitable penalties.
All the statements here are true, and I have recounted them to the best of my ability. Given the harm that I have suffered due to the deceptions of SH, I would ask that the administration impose a fine of $400 that would be deposited to my account.
Sincerely,
Mills7

On December 12th, I submitted the details of the fraud through the "Report User" procedures. When I received no response five days later, I submitted my "Report User" a second time. Nothing happened, so I used the online help links to find out why no action had been taken.
I was told that the "Report User" data was being examined and that the results were confidential. Furthermore, it was not even clear that any action had been taken or would ever be taken.
What I realized is that the freelancer managers had set up a system for reporting frauds but the one submitting the complaint would never know if or when the complaint was examined and what penalties (if any) had been imposed. I also realized that I was all alone in trying to recover monies that I had lost.

If I had to do it over again, I would have asked SH (a) to give evidence of prior training in preparing legal contracts and (b) to provide certified letters of reference verifying the quality of her legal work. The system of verification currently in place does none of these things.

As things now stand, I will lose $200-$400 and have wasted 35+ hours of my time trying to recover my losses.

Freelancer.com Account suspended/closed without any quotable reason!

I've been a freelancer since 2020. My experience throughout internet marketplaces were excellent until now. My 5* Rated freelancer account got closed without any reason. I've not broken any rules so far. Still they closed my account. I've provided every bit of documents they asked. Provide top notch services and earn a good reputation among my clients. I'm perfect to my clients still closeable, nothing but a piece of s* to freelancer.com .

The decision to close your account is final and irreversible. Any account that you will open in the future will be closed without advice. I appealed with all the documents to prove my identity, innocence but still those aren't enough. took my $900+ balance from my earning and debit card.

We offer no recourse or rebuttal for this penalty. Succeeding messages pertaining to the same concern will also be considered closed.

Claimed loss: $665+

Desired outcome: I want my hard earned money back.

Freelancer.com Regarding account suspension

Hello everyone,

My name is Rahul and i am a full time freelancer. I am totally dependent on freelancer for my earning. I am 21, software engineer and started freelancing 6 months ago.

I completed my first project with my client and made 100 Euros in my account(account 1).

Before my first withdrawl from freelancer.com , they suspended my account.

When i contacted their support team and asked that why they banned my account. They replied that my account is banned because they found another account (account 2) of matching my username. So they have to ban my account. They told me to choose any one of those account to work with (i have attached screenshot)

I was shocked to see this because i had no multiple accounts. And let say if i had multiple accounts then i only want to proceed with the account that you banned (account 1).

I am requesting complaint boards to check this matter as i did no mistake and my account was mistakenly banned.

account 1 means [protected]@gmail.com,

account 2 means Rahulsharma9

Thanks,

Rahul

Desired outcome: I want my account to be reactivate and delete all my personal data so i can start work again.

Freelancer.com My account was banned, I did not violate the rules, I asked for help, but no one listened to me.

Dear manager, I have discovered a major vulnerability that will affect the platform. First of all, please be patient and read my statement. I think this contains major vulnerabilities in technology and operational convenience. I accepted a job and the client asked me to help him with cryptocurrency. After I completed the first project, he repeatedly asked me to help him, so the job was divided into three projects (because each After each completion, he marked the project as finished and could not initiate the milestone again). When I completed the work, we conducted a friendly mutual evaluation. However a few hours later I received a payment complaint from him and then my withdrawal was blocked. When I logged in to my account to check, the system asked me to upload authentication information. I did as required, and then I received the frozen money and it was returned to the customer's account. I asked for your help as soon as possible, but I couldn't use the 24-hour online service. customer service, so I sent a help email. But a few hours later, my account was closed. I don't know what mistake I made. Key point: In the case where the project is completed and the customer initiates a payment complaint, I think the freelancer and client accounts should first be frozen pending negotiation. Instead of treating freelancers roughly, you didn't give me a chance to refute, and the system automatically refunded the customer's money. The second point is that when I was asking for help, because my account was closed and I could not use the online customer, I could only send an email to ask for help. During this time, the customer may have withdrawn cash. I know that customers are very important for a platform, but I think freelancers and customers complement each other. Excellent freelancers can attract customers to come to the platform repeatedly, and more customers can attract more customers. What an excellent professional, both are indispensable. I kept screenshots of all the chats, and the communication was entirely on the platform. I hope to get a good result.

Desired outcome: I hope someone can communicate with me so that I can provide evidence to prove my innocence and unblock my account.

Freelancer.com Payment not being released

Over four months ago I successfully carried out a project for a client on the Freelancer platform for a fee of $500. The client released this amount to the escrow account, but Freelancer has refused to release this payment to be due to 'security issues with the client account'.

They have tried to resolve these issues with the client but the client did not understand what was required (see screenshot of our conversation) and has since gone awol/left the platform.

I really need this money and on multiple occasions have spoken to staff at Freelancer, who offered me two options;

1. Wait for the client to respond.

2. Return the funds to the client and 'get paid another way'. Also they said if I went for this option I would get 3 months of 'pro membership' on freelancer (worth less than £30).

I am very upset by the time I have taken trying to resolve this, and the refusal of the company to release the funds I have duly earned.

Claimed loss: $500

Desired outcome: Release of the $500 already paid by client and held by the company

Freelancer.com Your account has been temporarily suspended

I changed my phone number, they closed my account and asked for clarification on the ticket. They said: You must mention why my website is in Libya and your phone is in Egypt. I explained to them that I was on a trip to Libya, and my wife and I were working in Egypt, and I was now in Libya. That's why, but they say, "You have to respond to the ticket." Freelancer.com My account is closed after I earned 80 USD working with 2 clients

Hello, all victims of freelance.com!

Today 10.11.2023 in the morning I tried to log in to my freelancer.com account and saw that my account was closed without any warning from freelancer.com.

Most probably they will say that I use several accounts. I am a virtual assistant and working for another freelancer, Ceren. She is from Turkey and I am from Turkmenistan. It is two different countries. In my freelancer.com profile, I wrote that I work for her company Fast Global Translate as virtual assistant. It was not a problem before, but now when I finished 2 projects and earned 80USD in total, they closed my account without any warning and explanations.

I use VPN because in my country, freelancer.com is not working properly without VPN;however, my country is listed in the freelancer.com. So I think it is ok to use VPN on freelancer.com. I wanted to withdraw the money and could not do that as freelancer.com asked me to verify my identity. I started verification, sent them my ID and all needed documentation.

Furthermore, I want to note that my client Ceren has verified freelancer account with all evidence and freelancer.com accepted her. Where my account was not verified yet because I started my verification 2 days ago 08.11.2023. It is obvious that Ceren and I, we are totally different people with different sex, different country citizenship, different age, different name and surname. They have all related documents proofing it and I can send my documents one more time if needed to prove that again. I was just doing my job as virtual assistant for Ceren. And I wrote it in my profile as current job. She hired me out of freelancer.com as virtual assistant. I want my account opened, and I want my money that I worked hard and deserved. Because 70USD I got from client from Pakistan. I did a great job, finished, and the client was happy with my results. He left 5star review. The 14USD I got from Ceren as I translated a document for her on freelancer.com. She is my boss out of freelancer.com and at the same time she hired me as freelancer to translate from English to Russian document. I did the job and she paid me 14USD. Is it a crime? Hope this issue will be solved as soon as possible. I am not only want my money back but also want my account back since I have good reviews and clients wrote me in messages that they are willing to hire me again if they will have similar projects.

Claimed loss: 80USD

Desired outcome: Give me my money and open my freelance account. I want to work and earn more money.

Freelancer.com Refund money and reopen my account

Dear Ms Bryndis Henrikson

Dear Mr Neil Katz

Dear Customer Support Team

Dear Ms Bryndis Henrikson

My account [protected]@gmail.com was closed on 16 October 2023 and I didn't receive the latest payment that I withdrew on 14 October 2023.

I wrote many emails to the Customer Support Team about my issue because I find that I have done nothing to violate the principle of User Agreement as well as Freelancer's Code of Conduct but they couldn't give me a satisfactory reason for closing my account and they refused to provide me ID Payment to check its status.

That was an act of depriving me of my labor rights and illegally appropriating my money. That was an action against the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The way you all treat me is the behavior of dictators and it is a blow to Australia's democracy and human rights.

Living without work is a death sentence for an innocent person like me. I wonder where justice is, where human rights are.

Dear Mr Neil Katz

My account has been closed with USD 150$ in it. There is no article of Terms and Conditions permitting Freelancer.com to hold my money after my account has been closed without violation to User Agreement, and there is no article preventing me getting my money back. Freelancer.com must refund it to me.

Your company earned tens of millions of dollars. I hope it does not include money stolen from millions of freelancers all over the world.

Dear Customer Support Team

I provided my personal information for your company and your company applied Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988, why did you say you cannot go further into details about my account due to Privacy Policy. Stop saying irresponsible and stupid things.

Please read again about Privacy Policy on the website. " The types of personal information we collect and hold. We collect personal information about our users in order to provide our products, services, and customer support. How we use personal information.

to provide the service or product you have requested;

to provide technical or other support to you;

to answer enquiries about our services, or to respond to a complaint"

You didn't support me. You do not fulfill your responsibility. Your boss needs to know that. Should you be fired?

And remember, you are not a court to give a final decision.

Dear Mr Matt Barrie

This is not the first time I write to you.

I hope you are the CEO of a technology company not the leader of a gang of robbers. You are listed in Australia's list of top innovators and thinkers, hope your innovation and thinking lead the world better, don't impose dictatorship and don't cast the shadow of modern slavery on the global.

User Agreement brings most benefit to Freelancer and puts users at risk, it's really a trap to users. This thing must stop because it is a crime against humanity. A global criminal investigation is necessary. Therefore, all files and evidence of this case and similar cases from 2013 will be sent to the below list.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ACCC

Supreme Court of New South Wales

The Federal Court of Australia

The High Court of Australia

Australian Cyber Security Centre ACSC

International Criminal Court ICC

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

Interpol

Human Rights Protection Organization

International Labour Organization

Remember that the way you handle this incident could be a make or break your career and Freelancer.

I look forward to hearing from you all soon, not silence.

Your Sincerely,

Nguyen Thi Hong

Freelancer.com Closed account

Dear Freelancer Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the sudden and unexplained closure of my Freelancer.com account. My Freelancer Username is [mairahabbasi1994] and Email is { [protected]@gmail.com }, and I have been an active and dedicated member of the Freelancer community for a considerable period.

On October 25, 2023, I purchased a verification membership for $100, and my account was in good standing with positive reviews and ratings. However, when I attempted to log in on the morning of October 27, 2023, I was met with a message stating that my account had been closed, without any prior warning or explanation.

I understand the importance of upholding the terms and conditions of Freelancer.com, and I am committed to adhering to the platform's policies. However, the sudden closure of my account without any notification or clarification is not only distressing but also detrimental to my livelihood.

As a single mother, Freelancer.com has been my primary source of income, and my account is essential for providing for my family. I kindly request that you review my account's closure and provide me with a clear understanding of the reasons behind this action. If I have inadvertently violated any terms and conditions, I would appreciate being informed so that I can rectify the issue and continue to work as a responsible and valued Freelancer.com member.

I am willing to cooperate fully and take any necessary steps to ensure that my account remains in compliance with Freelancer.com's policies. My reputation and financial stability are closely tied to my Freelancer.com account, and I am eager to resolve any issues and continue offering my services on this platform.

Please, I implore you to reconsider the decision to close my account and provide me with the opportunity to rectify any potential mistakes or misunderstandings. Your support in this matter is of utmost importance to me and my family.

I kindly request a prompt response to this email, as the situation is pressing. I believe that together we can resolve this matter amicably and allow me to continue working as an active and responsible member of the Freelancer community.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your response.

Regards
