Imbalanced Voltage: a fire hazard
Our house has a VOLTAGE IMBALANCE determined by a licensed electrician who took measurements and told us to get FPL to come out and run an extra cable from the transmitter to the outside box. A series of videos was made of his measurements for FPL technicians to view but they refused to look at them.
Upon calling FPL a truck appeared the same evening of Friday 2/23/24 who promised it would be taken care of and indeed the next morning around 7 am another truck appeared and another one and both technicians looked up at the pole and mumbled amongst themselves then decided it was time to go eat breakfast and took off saying they would be back.
Later that day i received a message and an email that the problem had been solved which was a blatant lie. Nothing was done. They had opened and closed the box, nothing more. Then said the problem was inside.
That entire day we continued to experience outages all over the house and not only that but some of the outlets showed voltages of 168V which burnt a computer and a microwave plus dozens of light bulbs. One outlet spewed fire and smoke when a strip was plugged in. Upon checking this outlet registered 220V.
in the evening FPL was called again and again a ticket was issued and a time was set for inspection which never came. A call to FPL at 4:10 am was made and a voice came on saying the office of Restoration was CLOSED till Monday...
This is a very serious Voltage Imbalance that could cause a fire. Our food in the refrigerator and freezer is spoiling, we cannot heat up the house nor wash clothes and we live with flash lights.
This house was serviced and paid on time every month for this service since 1977. We recently received new lines and according to the electrician were with insufficient or improper voltage, giving us a dangerous current that can burn down the house.

who took measurements: with the power inside ON he recorded 182V in one line and 62V on the other line. This is on video. A series of videos was indeed made of his measurements for FPL technicians to view, but they refused to look at them. The power must be around the 110V mark.

Later that day I received a txt msg and fancy email that the problem had been solved, which was a blatant lie. Nothing was done. They had opened and closed the box, nothing more. Never got their meter out. Then said the problem was inside. The problem is the power company neutral cable has a corroded crimp. It is likely corroded at the power pole to his house. Have him call FPL and ask them to replace the crimp connection and everything will return to a balanced state. Another way to prove this is to turn off all circuit breakers in his house. Then measure the voltage between each line coming into the breaker box to the ground bus. If he observes that the two voltage buses are now balanced, it will confirm my prognosis. FPL sent a garbled voicemail to turn OFF all breakers INSIDE, turn the main switch OUTSIDE OFF and ON twice. This procedure was executed THREE time without any improvements.

On Sunday 2/25/24 in between 9:10 am and 11:10 am FOUR outages were recorded that repeated with just TWO minutes in between the power going OFF and ON and OFF again.
In the evening FPL was called again, and again a new ticket # was issued and a time was set for inspection which never came. A call to FPL at 4:10am on 2/24/24 was made and a robotic voice came on stating the office of Restoration was CLOSED till Monday...

Two competent electricians have given their best advice that FPL is responsible for this very dangerous and hazardous condition, yet FPL technicians have shown their blatant incompetence.

Don’t waste your money
We have been using fpl insurance for months now and have never needed it and when we did it was entirely unhelpful. About a month ago, lightning hit our home and took out our wifi, Sonos audio speaker, and the light/fan in our bedroom. These were small things which are of relatively minimum value which made it even worse when fpl would not help. We hired a licensed company to replace the fan and asked them for everything that fpl required but they deemed it not enough and continued to demand documents that are impossible to get. They require the serial number for our fan but the company that makes the fans/light we use does not issue serial numbers so we could not get our money back for that. They required a report from Sonos technical support, Sonos does not have that they simply give you a discount when you rebuy their product. Therefore once again, fpl is asking for something we have repeatedly declared is impossible to get. At this point, it seems as if this is purposeful and meant to keep us from getting the insurance we pay for every month. Please spare yourselves and your money by avoiding utilizing fpl.

Every service call since the install of 2 complete air conditioners from Jupiter Tequesta Air/FPL in 2016 required another purchase. I have spent thousands of dollars for services rendered to fix these new air conditioners. Pumps, electronic air filters, UV lights. Endless purchases at the suggestion of each serviceman. On top of that, I had maintenance membership 4 out of 5 years. Lastly, The UV bulbs $$$$
are totally ineffective due to the INSTALLATION of the bulbs. These are my experiences with this air conditioning company.
Filed a claim on 6/11 to fix a Ice Maker . Here it is 7/29 and no service from FPL. The solution is to have GE Services replace the Piece of Junk that FPL out in. The only way to switch this Ice Maker on and off is to use a Hair Dryer to melt the Ice build up on switch. Have not heard anything from Customer Services since 7/16 when "***" said the "Team" was going to meet and decide what to do. I'm getting the run around for a $300.00 Ice Maker.. The GE Tech was out here and he had a New Ice Maker in his Truck but wanted me to pay $300.00 plus parts and labor-stating they did not have a Business relationship with FPL. If they had a rating system of MINUS STARS FPL would get a minus 50 from me.

Every time there was an issue, they said i need to pay $89 for them to come out, even if I have warranty. So they sold me a maintenance contract so i wont have to pay the truck rolls, so today the AC broke yet again, there is a hole in the coil (3 year old unit BTW), and they said they need $249 for processing fee. So again i have Free parts, free labor, free truck rolls, so whats a $249 processing fee? Avoid at all cost!

Purchaser beware. Should be 0 stars. They do not honor their warranties & sell defective equipment. Purchased an A/C unit 2 years ago with 12-year warranties for parts & labor. Have had to replace 2 indoor coils & 2 outdoor coils during that time. They still charge for diagnostic fees, leak check fees, shipping, handling & whatever else they can tack on to parts "under warranty". It cost me $430 to replace an indoor coil that lasted 1 year. Do not trust them.

Worst *** ever! After a bad lightening storm, our TV wouldn't turn on. We called FPL Home and they told us to call a technician that they recommended. We dod; he declared the TV permanently damaged by the storm. We paid him $130, which FPL Home said would be reimbursed, along with the replacement of our TV. It has been over 6 weeks; no TV; no reimbursement; no communication whatsoever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

The plumbing maintenance plan used to be great until FPL took over. Now water heater maintenance not included so I canceled my plan. It's been a month and still waiting for the plumbing manager to do his job and authorize the refund. No call back after two calls to customer service. Horrible way to do business.
I don't recommend using this company at all. We have been with Jupiter-Tequesta A/C for 11 years and over the past year and a half they have been terrible. It is very clear that they don't care about their customers who have already bought ac systems from them and are only interested in selling new ones. My ac fan motor broke last Sunday and when I called about getting a tech out they told me no one could come until Monday between 5-7 pm. The tech called on his way and as soon as he realized he was coming to look at my broken ac instead of giving me an estimate which he thought he was doing he quickly seemed uninterested. the Tech told me he ordered the part and it would be in within the next day or so. When I hadn't heard from anyone by Wednesday I called and they told me my "filters were in the mail." Umm I didn't need filters ordered so I'm not sure why they thought I did. So, they didn't have the part I needed but told me it would be in the next day. Nobody called me the next day. Now it's Friday and I am still currently paying for a hotel and still no call from Juliter-Tequesta. I called them twice today and they said the distributor forgot the part this morning but told me it would be in this afternoon. I called back just before five since again no call from them only to be told the parts department is closed until Monday. This company has quickly become the worst AC company in our area. If they can't bully you into a new system they can't be bothered to help.

I have been without AC for 8 days! I have been told the eta on my part is tomorrow for the last 4 days! Waited on hold this morning for 20 minutes just to get back in touch with the manager for the latest update. The service here used to be very good but this situation has been intolerable. Not sure what has changed but I am seriously questioning my loyalty to this company. Be cautious if you need a part! Don't expect them to follow up with you. I expect my partners to do everything they can to get me back up and running. Unfortunately on this repair that has not happened. It is 2:15 on day 8 with no AC and it looks like day 9 will be a reality.

If he couldn't do the paperwork I am not sure how well he did everything else. I called the office and as expected, I get a customer service rep who reads a scripted response and can only tell me they have no management or line supervision working on the weekends to address my concern, only technicians. No sure how a subsidiary of NextEra Energy has a whole team working on a weekend without supervision. I feel they are just too lazy or unconcerned to address issues. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Horrible, horrible, horrible
Horrible, horrible, horrible. I purchased a Home warranty last October and tried to use it for the first time on July 26. Besides having to wait for somebody to call YOU back, they don't keep their appointments. During this past week, I have called them 10-12 times, even spoke to a manager, and still don't have my toilet fixed. They did manage to set up two separate appointments and no one showed up either time. Lo and behold, a service tech called me this afternoon and said "maybe" they could work me in next Monday. This is after me rescheduling doctor's appts and business meetings so I would be available when they said they would be there...not once, but TWICE! Oh, they're not totally inefficient though. They did manage to immediately charge me for a service call on 7/26 when I first spoke to an actual person. Not to worry, those charges are already in dispute. So needless to say, I told the service tech I no longer needed the service and I then managed to cancel my contract. I never felt so relieved in my life! Although I have a sneaking suspicion that the monthly charge will show up on my charge card in April. As I said, they're very quick and efficient at taking your money. STAY AWAY .

After transferring service at the same residents from my Father deceased name to my name. He was on the budget plan I enrolled in the same budget plan. I was not told it would be 6 months average. I had been calling after two to three months and was told still not enough data. After 6 months I received a 1,000.00-dollar bill. I called to complain about the bill when earlier request a bill after 3months. I explained to them there was an error with the meter before my father passed and transferred service. I was told they were late sending out bills for several months I told them I should not penalized since they were late sending out bills that I could not pay all this bill at one time. This was not budget plan but ripe-off with 5 times higher bill. I believe that meter is defective and not working well. I was given 10 months to pay the past bill for 6 months that would have to pay 100.00 plus new monthly bill. Now I have receive a new bill of 248.00 plus 100.00 for a total of 400.00 this month this very unfair. I would been better not signing up the budget plan and just get bill monthly budget plan is not saving any money but increase bill 5 times higher.

We've been FPL customers for more than 50 yrs and purchased a home maintenance policy through FP&L when they offered it to us. Almost 5 weeks ago our air conditioning stopped working. They sent a technician to fix it. Our air conditioner hasn't been able to stop ever since. We called the same day and every subsequent day. It's now been 4 weeks and still they cannot/ will not send a repair man. We need help! I am 80 yrs old and feel that FPL is taking advantage of us.

FPL Home SurgeShield Protection provides "insurance" against electrical power damage. We had a dishwasher control board burn out in early February 2022. Our claims have been denied twice because they want a certification from a technician. Our repair man was unwilling to certify an exact diagnosis, although clear in telling us the control board was burned out and we should replace the unit. He was not a native English speaker and it must be common for repair men to not wish to enter into legal/ insurance issues. So the complaint is that FPL Home sets up a standard that is impossible for many to meet. This is borderline fraud or "false advertising", I wish to have my claim approved.

FPL home services employees have chosen to delay this issue and repair, in my view seems like they don't want the business, I hold totally accountable the management team, Maggie is one of the managers her and her manager have not been able to resolve this issue by never being available and by not having the skills to fix the issue abs get the work done. It has crossed my mind that perhaps there is another reason why they don't want to do it. If I realized that is the reason then I will move my complaint to another government agency. Tech came out without a couple hours and determined there's a Freon leak in the condenser and he will find out if it's covered and ETA on parts. I was waiting on a phone call that day and the next day.. no call... Keep in mind my house is now at 90 deg and no one there seems to care.. I called that next day & told that they have ordered the part but have no ETA. Fast forward to a week later no word from this company so I called and now the "ETA" is 4-5 weeks or maybe they can get the part from an aftermarket shop but they still can't figure it out. I suggested this AC company covers a whole unit as they cannot provide the parts needed. I got *** and no feedback or phone cal from anyone. Issue with a Home Warranty policy with FPL Home. The Policy states it covers failures due to normal wear and tear. I was using my countertop microwave and experienced a power failure. I called FPL Home and was told I had to find my own electrician, have the repairs done and then have them contact FPL Home which I did. The electrician had to interrogate the electric outlets on the circuit and replace parts. The microwave did not fail, something in electric wiring failed. FPL Home charged me $*** to find my own electrician and file a claim. I received a denial of my claim due to. d) Missing parts, improper parts or refrigerants, or improperly installed parts or refrigerants, structural changes, improper electrical power or electrical failure, or power surge. I believe this is a fraudulent business practice as my electric failure was not due to any of the above. The terms of the contract indicated it would be secondary to any other warranties in force. When I purchased the service agreement all my home appliances were almost four years old. During late September , I noticed my refrigerator was not reaching the appropriate temperature and called FPL Home Services for a repair. A repairman arrived at my home on 1 October to service the refrigerator. He added Freon which seemed to correct the problem; however, he told me that a replacement part was necessary to fully repair it. He further stated that he would send a report to his office and they would contact me. I was charged *** for this service call. In summary, the part was not covered and the cost of the repair was *** Pleas esee the attached document for a more detailed explanation of the events. CHARGED ME ALMOST DOUBLE. *** HOME SERVICES TOOK OVER JUPITER TEQUESTA AND KEPT ALL THE CUSTOMERS. I WAS UNAWARE UNTIL I CALLED FOR A SERVICE CALL. I HAD AN ISSUE AT MY CONDO WITH THE A/C (IT'S BEING RENTED) SO ON 4.22.20, THEY CAME OUT, FLUSHED THE SYSTEM AND CONVINCED ME TO GET EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN. CAME BACK ON 5.1.20 SUPPOSEDLY TO DO A YEARLY SERVICE AND TOLD ME I NEEDED NEW A/C. BLACK MOLD GROWING AND WAS DANGEROUS. SPECIFICALLY TOLD ME THE SIZE OF MY A/C UNIT WAS RARE AND ONLY TWO MANUFACTURERS MADE IT. SAID REBATE HAD ENDED BUT WOULD GET IT EXTENDED. UPFRONT HAD TO PAY FULL PRICE. THEY CHARGED ME $7,158 AND NO REBATE! FOUND OUT LATER ON THE NEIGHBOR UPSTAIRS HAD GOTTEN NEW A/C ALSO ABOUT A MONTH LATER FOR $4,000, AND ANOTHER UNIT IN ANOTHER BLDG PAID $3800! NOT THE SAME COMPANY BUT I WAS LIED TO AND SCARE TACTIC WAS USED. I AM RENTING MY CONDO TO A MOTHER AND 11 YEAR OLD, SO I WAS FEARFUL OF COVID AND NOW BLACK MOLD. IT WAS JUST REGULAR MOLD. ALL MOLD IS BLACK. I KNOW THAT I WAS RIPPED OFF AND CALLED AND WROTE AND THEY DID NOTHING. VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE AND RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS. I AM 63 AND APPARENTLY A TARGET FOR BUSINESSES THAT ARE DESPERATE FOR WORK. I UNDERSTAND THIS WAS ALMOST A YEAR AGO BUT A FRIEND CONVINCED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT.

On 5/8, after the 2nd inspection failure, ***'s *** - who was in our condo with the inspector - promised that he would work to get it 'repaired today'. I asked him to phone me with details. He said he would today. No call by 5/11 Monday morning. Called again, was told the building's water had to be shut off. We made the arrangements for it to be shut off between 10am & 12pm. All residents were informed by letter. The repairmen called on the day of the repair & said he was coming at 9am. I said that the water was going to be off from 10 til 12. He said he should have called me to say that the water didn't have to be shut off. Two repairmen came & did a repair. On Friday 5/15 we called *** to see when the inspector would come. After a couple of calls, we were told the inspector would be here on Monday 5/18. I asked what time & was told between 8am - 10am. I was also told someone would call on Monday morning with the actual arrival time. On Monday 5/18, no call no show. I called *** at 10:10 am, I was told that *** would call me. I asked to speak with a supervisor. After being put on hold, I was told no one could be contacted & that the operator would send a supervisor an email to call me. *** called a in few minutes & said that they 'made a mistake', the inspector would be here between 2pm & 4pm & he *** 'should have called' us about this. We are now waiting for a phone call from a supervisor & one from *** guaranteeing today's time.

Discussed pipes, cold to wash machine, cut-outs in cabs for lines, cut thru wall to wash machine. A "Yes".Price-$1778 'discounted' to $78. 7 tasks @$254 ea. NOW $225.42 ea.=$77.94. Sent to my email. Booked job that day for 4/19/2022.4/19-*** (D*) arrived, very unhappy w/site. Empty wall but for running fridge. I reviewed As appt. Handed estimate, HD measurements, renderings. D-"We don't install cabs." ME-Just need cut-outs.' OK. D- "Can't install sink/faucet/disposal with no counter". ME-OK.Aarrived. Both to truck for 25 minutes. When return "Office said u canceled job".No.D*- "Won't be charged for items not done" TWICE. Arepeated.D(alone) to me "HE SERIOUSLY underbid this".6;39 pm Tasks done-angle stops, lines to dishwasher, line to fridge, wash machine connection. Wall, cab cut outs.D(tense)-Wrote'new' contract. "$1832 discounted to $1632"."Because of wrong pricing, extra work".Me-'3 tasks we're done. I'm paying for those per our ONLY contract @$225. per task= $675.'D*-more agitated, interrupting, would not discuss.ME-'All day to adjust, rewrite, cancel job, spoke to office BEFORE starting.See *** #. (..for 'any' reason"..)I'm 71 yo single female. Wanted these 2 men OUT. Paid $1632, will dispute. On or around there was a problem with my service drop, It was replaced, This was reported by me owner if property. There was $800.00 of damage done to my refrigerator,plus $100.00 loss of food.
