Firstline Security Inc. Alarm Monitoring Billing / Firstline Bankrupt

A company named ALARM SERVICES resumed billing starting June 2009 for bankrupt FIRSTLINE SECURITY INC. who, per the Better Business Bureau (BBB)was not licensed to do business in CA back in 2007? Both Rated F. ALARM SERVICES sent a letter dated May 29, 2009, received on June 1, 2009. They say Firstline and Alarm Services are working close together to make this transition as smooth as possible. Back in summer 2007, neighborhoods were swarmed by HARD, HARD pushing college students who were told they were signing up for a reality show with a chance to win $1, 000, 000 dollars for being top seller, which never happened. I got swayed away from ADT. FIRSTLINE SECURITY was a BAD mistake. It took 5 trips out to get the panel working correctly and monitoring (supposedly) hooked up. The customer service was horrible and rude. The wait time to get someone to answer the phone was way beyond reasonable. Their billing dept had no clue what was going on. Not billing, double, triple billing their customers (see the MANY, MANY complaints against Firstline on line). Then they filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on January 25, 2008. Prior to them going bankrupt, I could not get thru to customer service and then NOTHING after the filing. I found out my alarm system was not hooked up properly and would not have sent a signal to the monitoring company the whole time after they worked on my existing system. I found this out after I went back to ADT in April 2008. Customers were left without knowing who their monitoring service was, if they were being monitored, and no support.
I send this information to you to please help get this information out to all your viewing customers to contact our CA State Attorney General - Edmund G. Brown Jr. Please have them file a complaint. This company should never have been allowed to conduct business without the proper licensing and customers should not then and now be being billed for these illegal activities. Please get them to stop billing.

We are also victims to this company, right now I am trying to cancel this service and have not had luck trying to see who we can call, but am being directed to different
alarm services, that keeps referring me to who they think or possibly has my account, but in the meantime, we are being charged monthly, and we have no services
because, we tried setting the alarm to see if anyone would respond, but no one ever calls...this is a very dissapointing and bogus reality that is happening, how can
someone get away with this? Times are very difficult right now, and this is not helping...

My husband and I are very unhappy with the service that Alarm Services has givin us. I have made up my mind to cancle services.

I agreed with the previous posts. If anyone is reading this and want to sign up with Alarm Services and/or Firstline (they're probably out of business by now, and I'm glad if they did!) please DON''T! They are the worst alarm company to go with. I was originially hooked because of their FREE equipment sales tactic, and the low price for monitoring. I was so dumb and went with them just save a few bucks on before researching them first! But likely we haven't had any bulgary or break in yet (knock on wood). These companies' customer services are the worst! They are rude and want you off the phone quickly! I had called in to make a cancelation after the 3 years of hard to reach and non-responsive customer services, they told me I was already automatically have been renew for another year. I obviously got upset and tirelessly tried to get them to reverse the charges but their customer services actually told me I was wasting her time! What kind of service is that!? Correct me if I'm wrong but Customer Services position is to sit there no matter how long it takes you need to patient with your customers? What was she going to do, go take a break?

I am in Minnesota and the exact same thing happened to us. We are furious with Firstline. And to make things even worse, we now are being told that a new company automatically renewed us for another year because we never canceled with firstline. How is this even possible?

We didn't know that FirstLine even went backrupt. We didn't know another company took over our account. We had no idea anything was going on. Thank goodness we were victims of bulgary or worse.

I'm very interested in the idea of not paying this new company for the automatic renewal. 36 months with a crappy company is enough. I don't need another 12 months in addition. We hired a brand new company to install a whole new system today... so i guess we'll be double paying for a year.

Unbelieveable that Firstline can get away with this and that the companies taking over the accounts seem to be getting away with it as well.
