I GOT THESE GUYS FROM BAD BOYS ON KENNEDY ROAD. I PURCHASED A DISWASHER AND A GAS STOVE FOR MY MOM FROM BAD BOYS AND THEY GAVE ME ENR'S CARD TO HAVE THE APPLIANCES INSTALLED. TWO GUYS CAME (BLACK GUYS) ONE WAS NAMED ED AND THE OTHER WAS I THINK RICHARD. TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT BY THE TIME THEY FINISHED, MY MOTHER (76 YEARS OLD) PAID THEM $837.81 FOR INSTALLING A DISHWASHER AND A GAS SOVE. NO ONE COULD UNDERSTAND THE BILL, WHOLE BUNCH OF PIPES, HOSES, SCREWS, ETC. MY MOM DOES NOT UNDERSTAND AND TOLD THEM TO WAIT TILL I GET HOME TO PAY. THEY TOLD HER IF SHE DOES NOT PAY, THEY WILL CUT THE GAS AND THERE WILL BE NO HEAT OR HOT WATER. MY MOM GOT REALLY WORRY AND PAID THEM SO THEY COULD GO. WHEN I GOT HOME THE DISWASHER WAS LEAKING RIGHT TO THE BASEMENT AND THE GAS STOVE WAS NOT WORKING. CALLED THEM MANY TIME WITH NO ANSWER AND NOW THEIR WEB SITE IS DOWN? CALL THE GAS LICENSE BOARD TSSA AND THEY TOLD MY THAT THEY ARE NOT LICENSED TO DO THE WORK. THIS IS A TOTAL SHAM, FRAUD! STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I totally agree with you. My bad... I was trying to describe the person who came to my house and at the end that did not serve the purpose... at the very end and after several calls technician brought a new replacement valve. Maybe they have changed... It is up to you to decide if you want to give them a second chance.
Thanks for posting this complaint. I was planning to use ENR (got their card from the Whitby Bad Boy) and I'm so glad I saw this first. I don't understand why Bad Boy recommends contractors they haven't even vetted.
One issue I did have with this complaint - why go out of your way to say that the guys who came were black? Is that supposed to mean something? Crooked people come in every skin colour - no exceptions. Good, honest, reliable people come in every skin colour, also. Maybe you didn't mean to come accross prejudiced, but you totally did. Just sayin...
I wish I read this before I hired them. Same thing I got their card from the appliance store in Whitby. A guy (tall black guy) came to my house to install gas stove and at the end I discovered that one of the 1/4 turn shut off valve has a broken handle. He off course kept quiet and I did find that out before he left. Bunch of crooks, save your money. Stay away.
