With all of these awful situations, and believe me I feel for every one of you because our gas has been off for over 3 months. It’s summer and although we don’t need heat right now, a hot shower or bath would be nice. Even a lukewarm one honestly. The freezing cold showers are starting to take a huge toll on my families mental health. My husband and I were separated for over a year and I was living at my home in about 30 mins away. He had an outstanding balance so they just shut his gas off. Now I’m here because we’ve reconciled and they told me if I was on the lease and not him they would transfer the gas into my name and turn it back on. I kept calling to get it dealt with. Paid most of his balance off, still no help. Enbridge had the nerve to make up these ridiculous stories about us that I “forged documents” and we “tampered with the meter…” the technician that came out to check it said it looked fine to him. Enbridge insisted we “tampered” with the meter and legitimately took it away! We didn’t even have a meter until today.. I’ll get to that. I’ve paid off my husband’s balance. That wasn’t enough though, I apparently had an account now and I owed $81.00 which was fine but in one day that number changed to $251.49. It said “goodwill charge”. This was randomly all thrown to the ombudsman. I told the woman who on the phone degrading and belittling me that she could take her goodwill charge and shove it up her [censored]. Everything is paid now I even tipped them and extra $5.00 on my account! Weeks go by. Today we noticed the new meter they promised they would hook up as soon as it was installed. If for any reason we weren’t home, they would apparently leave a card with a number to call so they could come back same day and hook us up. There’s a meter out there now, but no number to call. No card with any information. This is sadism. This is cruel and unusual punishment. This is bs!

They said “The meter is NOT ready yet. They will submit paperwork tomorrow and next steps. They installed it because they were in the area but still need some work to do.”

Yeah right. We were out for 15 minutes. They’re toying with people. I’ve been reading all these horror stories and I think it’s about damn time to start a class action against Enbridge. Please comment if you think they need to be held accountable for this inexcusable behaviour. We should all band together and start and action for punitive damages.

Desired outcome: I’ll see you in court. Until then turn everyone’s gas back on! Enbridge sucks!

It’s an abuse of power really. They way they speak to me with disgust… I can’t. I wish they would shut down. The world doesn’t need this kind of negativity.

It’s an abuse of power really. The way the speak to people with disgust is awful. They need to shut their doors for good. The world doesn’t need all the negativity from this company.

I’ve paid all of the bills. This company is leaving my young children, my husband and I with freezing cold baths and showers because Enbridge, I assume us sadistic. It’s been 3 months with no hot water! This is horrible and I’m going to go to small claims court unless you turn my gas back on now!
