I ordered a glass desk from computer desk.com. When the shipment didn't come in a timely manner, I tried calling their customer service and got an answering machine. Left messages with no return phone calls.

I also left emails, I got one line responses saying that the desk was on back order a couple of times, and they would never give me a tracking number. Three months have gone by and I have been trying to get my money back.

This company is a rip-off, if they even are an actual company. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and I'm not sure how, but I am trying to get my money back. I shop online all of the time and never had any problems like this! I am getting ripped off for over $200.

This is a bad company with horrible or non existent customer service, and I hope that someone puts them out of business!

This is my review on them.

Intro - Well, I found this website after reading a Squidoo lens that compared 4 other places found here: http://www.squidoo.com/best-place-to-buy-a-computer-desk - It was extremely informative and helped me find this company.

Past - Now, around May of 2010, the company changed hands. The previous owner had another busy business, which has led to many of the negative reviews you may see around the net now. If you'll look at the date of the reviews, you'll see it's right around this time or before, so there is not really any current reviews.

Current - The company is now under new management, and I must say, it's just as they say it is on their site. There is a place where you can read about them on their site that couldn't be any closer to the truth. :)

My experience - Well, after reading the review there, I jumped right onto the site. I clicked the link that had desks under $200, spent some time looking around (which wasn't long at all) and found the perfect desk for me. They had a nice selection for where I was looking. I listed the desks by price. They have different options to tailor to your searching needs, so it's pretty intuitive and easy to find what you want. The descriptions are more than adequate as well. For the particular desk I purchased though, I had to call in to figure out what the desk was made of. No worries, they picked up the phone right away and spoke right with me. Nothing was automated. They are a small company, so I spoke to the same person each time, while having to leave a message another time because they were on a call. Now I made one fatal mistake. I did do research on the company themselves, but forgot to cross reference prices. I was already getting free shipping (as everything on their site has), as well as $25 off due to a coupon code on Retailmenot.com, but found this particular desk for a lower price elsewhere. Most of their desks are not easily found elsewhere, but this certain one was an exception. They pride their products on being quality, as you'll find in their about us section I was talking about earlier. The ONLY reason why I found this particular desk for a lower price is probably because the other company, due to being so large, was able to buy in bulk and offer a lower price, otherwise, I would have purchased from here. It had just been around 12 hours since I purchased, so I went in to cancel my order before it shipped out. Well, they had been extremely quick to submit the order to the manufacturer, so it looks as though I would incur a $25 cancellation fee (the guy I was talking with lowered it to $20 for the time being). Normally, you can cancel any order no strings attached as long as the order hasn't been submitted, but it had. Other terms and conditions may apply when the order has shipped, such as restocking fees, shipping fees, cancellation fees, or what have you. I got into contact with them again, speaking with the same guy. I told him what was going on, and he got back to me very quickly stating there was their cancellation fee, which he lowered to $20 automatically. They even offered to lower the price $15 more to keep me as a customer, but the savings were too much for this poor guy, lol. The company that manufactured the desk had no cancellation fee, so the only fee was with computerdesk.com. I check out their terms and conditions (which are very straight forward and short) yet again to find that they can occasionally waive the cancellation fee. After speaking with them, they waived the fee (it was never charged), which is why I'm here telling you about my experience. Immediately after they also refunded my payment in full.

So, I'm extremely happy with my experience here and will remember them for doing business in the future. Thank you!
