I purchased Simply Nourish Chicken Jerky 16oz. bag from a Petsmart location in Marietta, GA off Johnson Ferry Road and returned it because the chicken was covered in mold. I then went to another Petsmart location in Kennesaw, GA and bought additional two bags there and to my horror, BOTH bags each had chicken jerky were covered in mold. I called the PetSmart number on the back of the bag and spoke with a representative of the company and he was callus to say the least. I explained that my dogs had stomach disruption after I discovered the mold in the first bag, and had to spend my gas and time going to and from different locations only to be hit with the same inferior packaging of this product that is putting animals at risk. In almost verbtim words, he said, " We are aware of the problem, but there is nothing we are going to do."There was a voluntary recall on lot numbers 9/14, 10/14 and 11/14. My lot number was 12/14. I am writing because the risk PetSmart is taking by continuing to sell these products is a liability and I am not sure how else I am able to draw attention to this matter. I am able to go and exchange my product for another, but I've done that at different locations with the same result. The outcome would be that PetSmart pull these products off the shelf because they are making animals sick until they come up with a better way of either producing the product or packaging the product to keep them safe. If that can not be done, then a shorter shelf life is necessary to make sure that other animals are not getting sick.

Hi truth is mine - the only thing they ate that even was part of a piece of jerky. No other food or treats. I know that most dogs can get into things, but these guys don't do very much other than require some pettings and play with their toys.

Don Tarr - I agree and heard about the treats from China. We have since stopped buying them and purchased these Simply Nourish as they are made in the United States. It's no wonder PetSmart doesn't want to pull these officially off the shelves...according to the representative I spoke to, this line of product is making the company a tremendous amount of profit while riding the Made In America wave. Sad they might be exploiting this opportunity to add to their bottom line rather than caring to put out quality products that bolster PetSmart's Brands. I'm looking into homemade as I type. Thanks!
