Greyhound Lines customer service on line and by person

Customer srevice what is that thinks Greyhound. After many times of being on line to buy our son (who is on leave from the U.S. Navy) a ticket. He misses the bus because of flight delay and weather.
There is a 15.00 charge to buy ticket on line.
To buy second ticket on line there is another 15 dollar cost. so we now have to talk weith a person, Then they tell us to buy second ticket it has to be done in person. So I answer oh! This would be nice to have been on the website.
The agent then tells me I am being rude. So I ask how I wire money. She answers call Western Union.
Ok do you know where one is? She answers no.
Western Union tells us Greyhound is their agent.
So What a web of lies they do weave to tell me I am rude.
Son now sits waiting for money and next bus in 6 hours.

Greyhound Lines everything

I went traveling on Greyhound twice, and on both times, one from San Antonio to Wisconsin, and San Antonio to North Carolina. If I didn't have a fear of flying I would have rather put up with the security checkins at the airport. I went both times to bee my husband before he went to Iraq and he was training in both those states, in both of those trips coming to and from I experienced agressive, rude drivers, when I would ask about where to go, they would respond with smart ### questions, they threw people off the bus for no reason, at one point in one state, the bus smelled of smoke, the bus driver slammed on his brakes, stopped on the side of a highway and demanded to know who was smoking on the bus, thing was noone had been smoking, we told the bus driver and for some reason he thought we were trying to cover up for the "mysterious smoker" well he put a shield up so noone could exit the bus, and called the cops, while we were all sitting there, some sparks flew out of a passenger's seat and when we told the driver about it, he said we were all lying! Then the troopers arrived and just pretty much yelled at the bus, it was unbelievable! and then to top that off, while I was coming back from Columbia, N.C and arrived at the Atlanta greyhound station, I asked a staff member which door do I stand at, they directed me to the wrong door and I missed my bus and had to wait 4 hours for the next bus to come along, it is horrible. It's bad enough that you have to travel with some odd people, but the staff doesn't make anything easier or better, either employees on the bus, or in the stations. Everyone is plain rude. Don't fall for the commercials and their deals, it's NOT worth it! Not to mention you get stopped randomly by immigration people and they ask you if you're from Mexico or not, it's crazy. Don't travel the Greyhound.

Greyhound Lines incorrect ans., and terrible customer service

I arranged flight and bus travel to coincide with one another...it took me a lot of time and effort! I wished to have etickets, but could not. (Was not made clear, at the time of payment) I called a supposed Greyhound Canada number and found that the RUDE person on the other end was where else...The Carribean! She told to call the Canada #, and I told her that I was NOT expecting to speak to a person from soooo far away, whom has NO clue about my querie. I called every number possible, and spoke to at least 10 different people. I have ONLY received two consistent answers about my issue up to this point. Greyhound Canada hires out work, and does not make sure their employees have the proper knowledge to assist customers with correct information, nor POLITE manners. The lady from Missouri was polite, as was the one from New York, and the Vancouver employee. No way to connect directly with the Canad Headquarters without calling long distance!?! It is as if this is a 'mickey mouse' outfit...which it is not. I am very frustrated, as I better be able to PICK up my tickets in Vancouver, even though I am leaving by bus from Toronto. I can ONLY trust today's info from a call?!? Thanks for letting me vent. :)

This letter in regards to your Greyhound office in Summerland, BC
The clerk withheld information from me regarding a parcel. When I took the parcel in and asked what time the bus arrived, instead of saying the freight did not go on the bus, she just let me b elieve it would arrive with the bus. Consequently the fruit I sent to Vancouver will probably spoil. A clerk like this does your company much harm.

Greyhound Lines ticket nonrefund

I started on 6/3/09 to do computer bus ticket and gave all info and did not get a confirmation #. After two trys I called the bus line operator and told her (Ms Williams) my problem. She said I had to call in for a ticket and get a confirmation number and customer ID# and then call her back and she will check to make sure no other ticket had been purchased and to also change the price to the $98.oo amount that was listed on the computer 6/3/09. I was unable to get a operator until June 9, 2009 and at that time I was told that the ticket that had been made for me was unrefundable. I told her that I had asked for the refundable one as I did not know If this was ok with my sister ( She had to pick me up at the bus station). When I wanted to change the destination place from Huntington, WV to Lexington, Ky. the customer service said the ticket was unrefundable and she will cancel and I will have to pay for another ticket. I told her I was not going to cancel this one and not receive any refund and then turn around and purchase a ticket for the 16th of June instead of the 17 of June (1st ticket purchased) and not receive any money from the 1st one. I am posting this to let people know that the best way to purchase a ticket is to go to the bus station and do it yourself. There is much to be desired for the customer service or should I say NON customer service at Greyhound Bus Lines.

Greyhound Lines discrimination and displeased with treatment

May 18, 2009

Dave Leach, President
Greyhound Lines Inc.
P.O. Box 660362
Dallas, TX [protected]

Re: Discrimination and Displeased with treatment

Dear Mr. Leach,

I’m writing in reference to a matter in which I am confident that will be of interest to you. Since I know you wish to uphold the good reputation of your establishment, I trust this information will be of interest to you.

Because I know your company is characterized by quality and service, I was quite surprised by my experience Sunday, May 10, 2009. Ms. Nia Lucus from the 1005 First Street, N.E, Washington, DC Greyhound Station gave me a bus ticket to Atlanta, Georgia for the driving class on Monday, May 11, 2009. When I arrived at the Atlanta, Georgia Station at 2:30 pm Monday, May 11, 2009 the employees at Atlanta station said I was not register for the class that my name was not in the system. I gave them my Employee ID Number 460553, they checked it and I was not in the system. I felt humiliated so I just cried. I have a couple of questions for you sir (1) How could a reputable company treat any human being this way? (2) Why did this happen? The Employees at Atlanta, Georgia station were shocked that she would send me to Atlanta, GA with a one way ticket. And when the employees tried to contact Ms. Lucus they got no response, no one could locate her.

As a result, the Atlanta, Georgia employees gave me a ticket to get home. I left at 3:30pm May 11th. When I returned home on May 12th at 8:30 am I called Ms. Lucus about the situation and all I got was her voice mail. So I meet with Ms. Lucus’s supervisor Harris Bailey the city manager at Washington, DC station on May 13th about what Ms. Lucus did to me. Nothing was resolved in my eyes, he yelled at me and I felt so disrespected. He did not believe anything I said. I believe that you are a man of integrity and values. I did not deserve to be treated in such a way. So for that reason, I have consulted with a lawyer about this matter.

To contact me about this matter I can be reached at [protected]. I’m looking forwarded to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Roxan Kilpatrick

Do you suffer from some kind of mental deficiency?

They should fire you immediately for this, unfortunately, you are in a union, so they cannot.

There really should be some kind of process to replace people even if they are in a union. What a waste and there as so many unemployed that would beg for your job if you werent permanently installed in it because of a stupid union

Greyhound Lines dirty and rude

I bought a round trip ticket from Canton Ohio to Clarksville Tn.The price was great, I bought it on the 14 day advance purchase and it was cheaper to go this way than to drive my vehicle. That is where the benefit ends. I am a larger male and I found the seats way to narrow so that when someone who is smaller or larger you become attached at the hips because you have no room. Then combine that with no leg room in front of you especially when the person reclines back into your lap. Very uncomfortable. The buses are so dirty that the only thing I could think of while riding the bus is what a great way to spread viruses. Bathrooms on the busses just about all of them had something wrong with them. But when you get off the bus to use the facilities those bathrooms are really dirty. Very disgusting, donot sit on the toilets. Also when you get off the bus and the bus driver announces which door to go to for your next connection you better check when you go inside more than half the times on my trip the bus driver was wrong and you would be standing in the wrong line. There are no signs or notices in the terminals to assist you which door you should go to. Greyhound should learn about electronic signs. On we go the bus driver in Cincinati, Ohio is one of the rudest and most arrogant and inconsiderent so called proffesional I have ever met he goes by the name of CJ. He has an attitude and acts like he is better than everyone else riding the bus. He wanted me to lug my luggage around the terminal to get a destination ticket for my luggage which the terminal in Clarksville failed to do there job and put one on. We had already made stops in Nashville, Louisville and it was fine. But he caused a rucus in cincinati. my other complaint is when you transfer busses and you get on a bus the other travelers will take up two seats and pretend like they are sleeping as so they donot want someone to sit by them, and some will cause a comotion when you try to sit there. I found this to be very accurate with african americans. This has to rate as one of the worst transportations ever to take if you have another option use it. But unfortunately some have no other choice, may God be with you and keep you safe.

I agree, the travelers who were african american were so rude to travel with, I was surprised that they actually acting in a manner that was racist towards any other race that traveled along with them. But whenever another african american person entered, they would offer the seat right away. Many of the males were just very offensive, when a woman would walk onto the bus and pass them, they would get their camera phones and take pictures of their butts, it was gross.

Greyhound Lines remarks of the driver

Sunday, aprill 6, 2009 4pm, I boarded the bus bound for washington d. C. By way of new york city returning home. My boyfriend who was living in toronto accompanied me to the boarding area. He is pakinstanian and I am black. He kissed me goodbye and we hugged. While I was on the bus I remembered that I had left my food in the station. Your bus driver was on the bus but not ready to go yet. I said to him, "I left my food inside" and his remark to me was, "well I hope it doesn't stink. I could not understand why he would say this. After getting it, I got back on and told him it was only water and junk food. Then he came where I was sitting and asked me where was I going, I replied maryland by way of d. C. Your driver said" i"ve been to d. C., once before 911 and once after. This brought flame to my face, and now I understood. This was the worst ride of my life. I kept going over and over in my head about this situation. As a black woman, my race has been sterotyped all my life. I live within 6 miles of the pentagon and work within 500 ft. I know the tragedy of 911 and I also know that everyone from the middle east did not play a part in that. Just like I was not a black panther, nor in the rodney king riots, and I am just as afraid of getting my purse taken as any other race. I hoped that in the future your driver thinks before he speaks.

Greyhound Lines misplaced luggage

On March 28, 2009 I travelled from a location to Red Deer and my luggage was not on the bus, that I was riding on. I was informed from the bus driver that was located in Edmonton that my luggage will be placed on my bus and not to worry. Now I am sitting at home without my luggage and especially my work gear. I have filled out a luggage trace form and have been informed from the Red Deer office that my things will be here soon. They are unaware of what bus has my stuff, so therefore what the hell is the trace form for..when they don't even try to locate my luggage. I had asked the counter person if the buses will be checked for my bags and his response was (quote) "If we are not too busy, we will look outside at the bag drop off zone for your stuff".

I have called head office and other locations...they all had the same answer, that my luggage will be found when it is found. Look for the dam bags, [censored]! I paid money for both myself and my luggage!

WTF kind of service is that? I have not rode a bus 12 years and now this happens. In my honest opinion, Greyhound Bus Lines can kiss my ### for there ### service. Whether that is mature or not, who cares cause this is ###.

I wish to hell I would have read your comments earlier Pooner31. I would have postponed my significant others trip.
I have a person on the bus who I am keeping in contact as I write, who is going to BC also. She is on the bus to HELLS NIGTHMARE. They already had to kick off a person on this bus. Speaking about luggage I HOPE TO HELL they dont lose her's. She had a GODFORBIDDEN 12 HR layover. The person is handicap and her bag has special handling. Do you think they transferred the luggage in her possession. NO the stupid Greyhound employees had it continuing ahead of her. There will be a lawsuit if she ever gets home safe. ARE YOU READING THIS GREYHOUND WHICH SHOULD BE NAME GREYSTOKES because they run this company like a bunch of SIMIANS!. I see this party bus company are coming out with anemites like cell/laptop connections on this bus. I will make it my business Now to discredit any positive literature this company is trying to gain due to their safety issues that the public is faced with while traveling with Greyhound. This person who has a back injury is disabled, has developed a migraine, no heat, and is faced with inconsiderate ppl on this bus to boot. The driver should be reprimanded for allowing other passengers interruptions to be forced on the mature public on this bus who are being rowdy and disconcerned. For Greyhounds sake they had better prepare to find themselves in Court before they start spending their finances in areas that arent suitable in these unsafe conditions.

Greyhound Lines no refund

My mother in law purchased a bus ticket from Truckee, CA., and Greyhound had me scheduled out of a totally different city! After paying for a non-refunded ticket, I was told that she could get her money back for the ticket that she purchased. After several calls to the main line, I was given the number for customer service, which is located in Texas. I dailed the number and got a "disconnected" message. I would like to see that my mother in law gets her refund! There should be no reason why someone would have to pay for tickets that were issued wrong!

I travelled on Greyhound to State College, Pennsylvania and back. The ride up to State College we were on a bus that the driver stated the engine light had come on. The driver got off the bus and said he had to check to see if any fluids were leaking. They were not so he continued to drive eventhough the engine light was on. Coming home it was disgusting. The Greyhound bus was filthy. I actually took pictures of how dirty the seats were as well as the toilet. The toilet had so much debris that it was not able to be used so we had a 5 1/2 ride with no restroom. How was this bus allowed to come out of the depot as dirty as it was? I will never ride with Greyhound again due to this uncleanliness.

I brought a ticket for $164.00 on Oct. 4, 2017. I was supposed to leave the bus station in Lafayette Louisiana at 7:45pm on the 4th of Oct., and arrive in Colorado Springs At the same time the next day on the 5th of Oct., but when the bus got there that i was supposed to leave on they told me amd my Wife that the bus was too pack and we wouldn't fit. So, they told us that another bus left at 8:10pm on the same night and that we would have to take that one instead. When the next bus got there they told us to get on that one, and that we will arrive in Colorado at the same time that we were scheduled to.
Well, when we arrived at the Dallas, TX bus station there was no bus going toward Colorado Springs until 2:00pm the next day and that we would have to wait 9 hours for our bus. They also added that we wouldnt get to Colorado Springs until 5:45am on the 6th of Oct.
I paid almost $200.00 for a 24hour bus trip not a 33 hour bus trip. This absolutly no sense at all, they shouldve told us that they had no room on the bus before they let us buy the ticket. Then they put us on the wrong bus to go to Colorado Springs. I dont appreciate that kind of service, it was very unprofessional. I believe that something needs to be done about these kinds of mistakes.

I left Dallas, Texas on 7/29/2017 and arrived in Pittsburgh, PA early Sunday. I left with Dallas with 5 checked items, and now I have nothing but the clothes on my back. I am a disabled Veteran and athlete. I took my $5, 000 wheelchair with me, clothes, medication, and other equipment I need for my sporting event. I need my things found quickly. I don't have the funds to go out and buy things to replace the items lost. This is disgusting. It is frustrating. It is humiliating, and no one at Greyhound seems to want to go out of their way to do the right thing. I'm at my hotel right now wondering what in the world am I going to do.

i rode a greyhound bus from Monroe la. to Lafayette la. the first bus was alright, but the second bus driver was rude and made 3 riders run to catch the bus when we stopped at a store for the driver to take a smoke break. then when we got to Lafayette he came over the loud speaker and announced that if any passengers were getting off in Lafayette they needed to get off at churches chicken, when we were exiting the bus i requested my bag and the driver told me he would give it to me when he picked up the other passengers. when he returned i asked him for my bag and he told me that my bag was at the bus station 5 blocks away. so i walked to the bus station and when i got there i explained to the workers what happened and i was informed that there is no way that it could have happened that way. then i was informed that my bag was on its way to baton rouge la. and it would not be back until 7:35. well the bus did not get there until 8:10 and my luggage was no where to be seen. the workers at the Lafayette bus station were VERY VERY rude when they informed me that they do not know what happened to my luggage, well it has been almost 48 hours and i am still wearing the same clothes i started the trip with. inside my bag was most of my clothes, some of my husbands, my new inspiron 1501laptop computer, my mp3 player and a 73 dollar pair of timberland boots. the company still has not even apologized. they haven't even tried to contact me about this situation.

Greyhound lost my luggage and I've spent 10 hours so far today getting the runaround. How does this incompetent company survive? How does moving the HO to Dallas help Canadians with their claims? It's ridiculous! There hasn't been one single person who has been helpful. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Some where semi-friendly, but none returned my calls. I had to keep calling.

They don't have toll free numbers, so yet again another cost to the customer. Nice... rip off.

I took a bus going back home for my moms birthday. Everything went fine getting there...but on the way home my luggage was lost! They told me that it went back to my home town so I called the station and had them put it on a bus the next day... I went back to the station to get my bag which was full of new clothes and my jewelery just to look stupid when all the luggage was emptied put of the bus and see that mine wasn't there! I had to wait 2 more days to file a complaint for lost luggage...which the manager at the time decided to throw away...it's been 7 Months and I still don't have my luggage and still not gotten any money for my losses... GREYHOUND IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY AND NEEDS TO PERISH! THEY'RE RUDE TO CUSTOMERS AND HIRE THIEVES WHO STEAL BAGS AND DISPOSE OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS!

Greyhound Lines lost luggage

Like I said the bus company needs to be investigated for losing lost luggages, hiring corrupt lawyers who forged fake signatures and offer 250 damn dollars.C'mon man this is a bilion dollar bus company who's not hurting with money. My luggage was lost Feb21, 2007 during a bussswitch in Oklahoma City.Had over 2, 000 dollars of lost items in my luggage after attending NBA All Star Weekend. So I want people to see what's going on.David Leach is thier disgraced CEO.He's allowing this plus we have a CIVIL Court date in NYC March 25th.I've been fighting these folks for 2 years.

The letter I've written to British newspapers describes the complaint:

I returned to the UK in late August from an American trip to find that Greyhound were starting a £1 bus run from London to Portsmouth. I'd normally be in favour of news coverage of cheaper public transport. If only it wasn't Greyhound.

Greyhound managed to lose my suitcase in while I was in the USA. They manage it with many other people too through a ridiculous luggage procedure of removing selected luggage to make way for baggage they think is more urgent. Greyhound believes that it's satisfactory for passengers luggage to arrive a day or two after they do. Or not at all, judging by the time wasting form filling leading to no result, apart from the notification of 90 days taken to search for it, and the insincere email messages ignoring questions while repeating sentences word for word of false sympathy.

It's easy to find complaints of this nature about Greyhound on the Internet and complaints about the rudeness of staff. I experienced this between Cleveland and Dallas when I was told by the drivers not to check my suitcase because they were taking care of it, and for safety reasons. At some stops there were uniformed officers to enforce this. When I arrived at Dallas minus suitcase the Customer Services representative walked away from me when I tried to report this to him, then he directed me to the baggage control office which was closed. When I found the Baggage Control Manager he told me I should have checked my suitcase during the trip! Finally another member of staff told me that he didn't travel with Greyhound because of their attitude towards luggage.

Some people think the luggage is stolen. Difficult to prove but difficult to disprove too.

I find it amazing that Greyhound can get away with this performance in the USA where many people are being sued for far less. Mayb it's because they have a monopoly and their clientele are the poorer sections of American society. One woman on the Internet complained about having no clothes because she couldn't afford to buy any, after Greyhound had lost hers.

They've persisted with their luggage procedure since 1997 when I travelled with them for the last time before last month and they did the same thing. That led to a showdown with the Greyhound Manager in El Paso Texas when he tried to recite company rules to me. My luggage was retreived then but now I think it's gone for good.

I'm concerned about similar things happening in Britain if they get the upper hand here.

I had a TV set stolen from me, as well as a Nintendo Wii system and five games.
It happened in Shreveport, LA.

I told this story COUNTLESS times to Greyhound staff, and they just don't care.

What can I do to get my resolution?

I know it was a Greyhound employee who stole my stuff, but what can I do to get payback?

I travelled from Grambling, Louisiana on December 17 to Dallas, Texas. I had my two luggages with me. When I arrived to my destination at Dallas, I couldn't find my luggages. Now it had been 3 months since i lost my luggage. I 'm having really hard time.

That travel has worsen my life. I'm an international student and I just transferred from Louisiana to Dallas for my study. It has been 5 months i came to USA. Since i'm international, all these things are new to me. And I'm so ignorant. So Greyhound is taking advantage of my ignorance.

I called more than 100 times to Greyhound. And they are still getting me in trouble. I had my all clothes, my all meant property that i brought from my homecountry. All my memories from my country, my memory of my family, my clothes, my books, all my items which meant a lot to me. Now I don't have them.

I don't have clothes to wear. I'm sort of money and Greyhound created a nightmare to me. I'm so tired of fighting with greyhound.

I had also claimed my luggage. I had my stuffs worth more than 2000 dollars. I had my all stuffs in that two luggages. And after 3 months long, what greyhound has to offer is only $250 dollars. ###!

Just $250 . That sucks man. I called several times and now i'm tired. I said i don't need money. Help me find my luggage. I just need my luggages, i don't need damn $ 250. $ 250 can't buy anything in this expensive usa.
It really had been a nightmare for me.

I have nothing in this big country. The value of my two luggage is just $ 250. I don't agree that. My luggages worth more than that. I'm so tired of fighting with greyhound now.

And the customer service is also worst. They don't give adequate service. And the number for baggage claim, they don't receive the damn phone man.

I'm so helpless in this country.

Greyhound Lines delay

I left Kansas city Kansas for Las vegas, Nevada on January 27th 2009. Five hours out of Kansas city, the bus broke down and all passengers spent 7 hours at a roadside rest area until until another bus came to get us. Then when we got to Denver, we missed our connections and had to wait another 5 hours. I was late getting to Las Vegas and had a prepaid room that I didnt end up checking into until 3am and had to check out the same day. Greyhound never apologized or offered anyone on the bus compensation except for a lousy meal voucher for a sandwich and a bag of chips! How do they stay in business by treating people so shabby.? ?

Greyhound Lines cold & unheated bus

Leaving Alantic City, N.J. going to Port Authority N.Y.City at 10:30
A.M. Bus #713 arrived on time, it was very cold inside the bus the driver said "the bus had to heat up before heat would heat the inside cabin", after about 1/2 hour the bus was even colder, the driver offered to return to get another bus but the passengers said "no" there were small childern aboard really cold. About one (1) hour from Atl City a fight broke out on the bus I assisted the driver in seperating the two males and keep the load talk down. Passengers were screaming and hollering, after awhile the bus contined to N.Y. C. I don't want my fare along with my wifw as other stated but I feel I should be compensated for my inconvience, perhaps a discount on my next trip
I have traval w Greyhound beforeto Richmond Va & Greensboro, N.C.

Greyhound Lines customer service

Buyer beware,

I have never posted a complaint of this nature, but I feel obligated to do so because of my experience with Greyhound. At the end of January I paid extra money to buy 2 "refundable" bus tickets to New York. I normally ride the train, but I figured I would try the bus. Since I was a first time rider, I bought an e-ticket online and figured I could print my ticket at the station. However, I quickly realized that you need to print your tickets yourself. Fine, no big deal, however, when I arrived at the bus terminal the Greyhound employees were extremely rude and unhelpful. They said they can not access my reservation, do not have a printer, or a functioning internet. Not sure if any of this was true, otherwise I am not sure what purpose their computers serve if they are isolated terminals. So, it was getting close to the departure time and I needed to get to NY by a certain time. So I asked if I could buy two new tickets and refund the others later. they said no problem, however, I would have to take a later bus because this bus was sold out (even though I actually had two tickets already). Fine, well at this point I decided to cut my losses and go and catch the train and refund by bus ticket later, as I specifically purchased a "refundable" ticket. Well, to my surprise, I found out that I had to call long-distance customer service line (could not do it online with my E-TICKET) and wait on hold for 1 hour! when I got a hold of someone, they said they could process my refund but that it would take 7-10 days to process...for what...I don't know. Well, 20 days passed and nothing. So I tried e-mailing their customer service because they recommend that. Only, I got a note saying that it would be at least week before I would even get a reply. 10 more days...nothing. Yesterday, I tried calling again but was on hold for 30 mins before I had to get on with my day. So, 31 days...still no refund and a lot of frustration. I will NEVER do business with Greyhound again in my life! Try Megabus or another mode of transportation, but avoid Greyhound if you can. Again, I never post messages of this nature, but I am just astounded by the way they do business.

Greyhound bus services is terrible ! They sold ticket bus #4693 going from NYC to Allentown, PA. Leaving at 6:09am and it has no driver and there is no communication to the passengers at all. Finally had to abandon this bus service to find an alternative, luckily another bus service honored the Greyhound bus ticket and is now providing alternate transportation. I tried calling their customer service number and their agents are clueless and no help!

I am a 20 yr customer of greyhound. In the last 5 yrs they have become arrogant desperately greedy and rude. $18 to purchase with credit card...Why? Because they can. They have lost not just a loyal customer but potential customers in my family. Some other bus company is going to profit from a lot of disappointed customers. For you accountants, you know those numbers add up.

I purchased tickets a few weeks in advance. I never received the tickets due to a printing error. This I can understand, but Greyhound refused to re-send the tickets. They also never arranged for me to pick up the tickets, which they were supposed to do. Also, I was never refunded my mailing fee or for the price of the tickets. Lastly, because Greyhound kept promising a refund, I waited too long to get my money back (by filing a complaint with my credit card company for Services Never Received). I believe the services at Greyhound are a scam, especially since they promised a refund, which delayed my filing a complaint with my credit card company.

You need to list some sort of a disclaimer that states that certain terminals may be closed when a customer is dropped off, in order to change busses.

Yes, there are links to individual terminals that list hours, but you should still list this in the information that is received when a person is purchasing a ticket online, etc.

Over the weekend, I took a trip to Denver and came home on the bus. I rode Greyhound from Denver to Pueblo. Three of us, including my daughter, left the bus to wait for the arrival of the Beeline Express to take us into Kansas ( Great service from these people, too bad it doesn't extend to Greyhound main services ).

When we left the bus, other passengers also left in order to take a cigarette break. In a previous stop the driver told them to go to the rear of the bus. They all stood where we were waiting for our bus, smoked, and spat. I was actually spat on.

The driver should have been more attentive to what was going on.

On top of everything else, I have COPD. Once the other bus left, I stood with another male passenger. I am a female and was travelling with my daughter.

This area of town does not appear safe. The terminal area was not well lit.

I was placed in a position of trusting this male passenger. What if he had been a dangerous person?

It was very, very cold and windy. I felt very nervous and became very ill after standing and waiting. I can provide medical documentation to that effect.

You should warn people that terminals may not be open. You should also provide some sort of enclosures, and local police departments should be asked to patrol areas during times that they know when busses are arriving in off-hours.

I have no problem riding with Prestige/Beeline, but I will never, ever again ride Greyhound and will advise friends to that effect.

It is now 3;37 in the morning my elderly mother in-law is stranded on a bus from Philadelphia to Indianpolis. She has been waithing for at least 2 hours for another bus to arrive. One bus already picked up half the passengers. She doesn't know where she is or when she will be arriving. All phone lines are closed to Greyhound NO COMMUNICATION until 7;00 in the morning, not to mention her bus was already 45 minutes late departing! Very UPSET and Worried! NEVER USE GREYHOUND!

I made the horrible mistake of sending my wife from Tulsa to Dallas. I purchased the ticket on-line, opting for "Priority Boarding". I expected some of the passengers to be a bit different from those I have traveled with by airline for the last 30 years. Nothing could have prepared us for what we found upon entering the station. I am truly sorry if I offend anyone, I understand that there are all types of people, but the scene was like that of an insane asylum. People were talking to themselves, one man yelling and gesturing two fingers of his hand like a gun to unseen companions. While at the counter, the attendant, a very friendly African-American with long black and red braids saw this and told us that she "would not be letting that man on-board". I sat with my wife while the continuing passengers re-boarded the bus, and waited for further instructions. She then announced the boarding call and everyone lined up, with no mention of "Priority Boarding". I asked the attendant about this and was told that you can't do that on-line and that you must pay the fee at the station at EACH bus change. I would not mind, but there was no reason for me to know this detail, so there really is no service provided by making this purchase. While only an extra $5.00, it is still dishonest of Greyhound to sell this on-line with no mention of the actual process. After the bus departed, I left for home. Within 20 minutes of leaving, my wife calls to tell me that the driver is lost and is asking the passengers for directions and has pulled off the road into a parking lot to turn around. Not only that, but the man who was not to board had taken the seat across the isle from my wife. I called the Tulsa office to complain and was told that because of construction the driver must have gotten lost. When I asked about the man in question, she said that the driver must have let him board and gave me a number for customer service [protected]. My wife said the driver was a woman named Laquisha. In addition to the drivers attempts to keep the peace and find her way down the road, she also said getting lost was going to put her over her allowed hours. My wife called back in fear because the man was yelling, using vulgar cursing and jumping around, while the driver and other passengers yelled and cursed back at him. She just now called again when she changed buses in OKC, she is terrified and fearful for her safety. I believe that Greyhound has a responsibility to keep dangerous persons off their bus. The bus is an enclosed space that a passenger has no where to run in the case of danger and the driver has the added responsibility of keeping the bus on the road. When things like tonight are allowed to happen it is a no-win situation. After leaving OKC she has let me know that things are quiet now. I took the time to call the customer service number and waited 15 minutes on hold, which is pretty good considering. The service person was kind and listened to me explain my experience for 25 minutes. I asked if she needed any other information and she asked if she could transfer me to her supervisor so I would get the best service and I could tell her my story. REALLY all 25 minutes. It's not like I was working from a script. I don't have the energy to retell it if I could. I asked her if the calls are recorded and she confirmed that they are. I told her to pass along the recording to the head of customer service. She asked if I wanted to request a refund...huh? Who cares about the money, what I want is to take all of this back, call into work sick in the morning from Dallas. I do not and will never try again. I will always tell this story, maybe not 25 minutes of it...and if I ever hear anyone considering Greyhound I will resoundingly encourage them not to use Greyhound, which is also Trailways.

My name is Kevin Smith I was on a Greyhound Bus leaving Albuquerque New Mexico to St. Louis Missouri on September 18 at 10:45pm. My bus was running late we did not deport till 1:00am I had two bags one was a carry on when we were getting on the bus they took my carry on bag and put it at the bottom of the bus why they did this is because they said the bus was to pack for my bag so they said when I get to Oklahoma City I could put my bag up top. When I arrived in Oklahoma City I ask for my bag the guy who was pulling the bags off the bus told me that I would half to wait to I got to St. Louis to get my bag. So when I arrived in St. Louis my bag was NOT on the bottom of the bus. So I call and I call all around to Albuquerque and OKC they told me that I would half to make a claim and I did that. I had my X BOX1 IN THAT BAG FOUR GAMES AND CONTROLLER I HAD MY MICROSOFT TABLET AND TWO PAIR OF SHOES A WATCH DVD MOVIES AND MUSIC CDS. Greyhound denied my claim which is was not my fault is was there workers at the station. So can someone please help me this is not right. my claim number 2418768 and this is another number they gave me309445 My phone number is [protected]

Greyhound she be put out of business. My God who in the hell is running this operation. The customer service, drivers, mangers and anyone else seems to be an employee with such evil power it is absolutely insane. You have to watch anything you say to any employee or you are OFF THAT BUS. You will lose, no matter what happened because they do not give a damn. Riding a Greyhound bus is equivalent of a bus ride to hell. You have to kiss their ### to get to your destination. Such horrible service it is just crazy. Somebody somewhere someway needs to do a major investigation on this fraudulent mega monopolized demon company. Read the thousands of horrific experiences people have had. The drivers are monsters that leave teenagers at scary bus stations for no apparent reason. They leave people in wheelchairs, they don't allow people to board because they are just the damned awful worst people in the world, The Greyhound bus company is going to take you for a terror ride. DO NOT USE THIS NIGHTMARE BUS IT IS EQUAL TO HELL

Greyhound Lines endangering a child, extortion

My grandchildren spent Christmas 2008 in Calgary with their father. On Dec, 28 2008 my grandchildren tried to get back to Vancouver BC using their return tickets. My 14 year old grandaughter lost her ticket. The agents at the Calgary bus depot would not let her on the bus. Her 17 and 19 year old brothers raised hell and security guards were called. They confirmed that the brothers had tickets as three return tickets had been paid for the confirmation number was confirmed. My grandsons explained that their sister was the third ticket but the ticket agents would not let her on nor would the bus driver. This began about 3 hours where the Calgary office demanded another ticket be paid for but would not take my credit card over the phone, nor would they allow my 19 year old grandson to buy a ticket using my credit card number at the counter. They stating I had to call the ticket purchase number instead. I did that and after suffering through the pathetically long list of choices I got a female in Texas who wasted even more time before telling me it was too late to buy a ticket.
Now we had a 14 yr old minor child being left in a city where we know absolutely nobody and even though grey hound was attempting to extort another ticket sale from me, then tried to prevent me from doing just that.
Finally, my grandson went to a computer terminal in the Calgary bus terminal and purchased a ticket on line for the 11:30 pm departure (this was the only one available because the 6:30 bus was full), he then went back to the same ticket agent who had refused a few hours earlier and exchanged the ticket for the 6:30 departure, because - what a surprise - a seat opened up.
This little venture cost $174.04 on top of the more than $800.00 the original 3 return tickets had cost.

I want my money back.

Vancouver offered to give me travel vouchers, I told them no because no one in my family will ever use greyhound again.. I am refusing this ridiculous offer for something I am never going to use.
They only had one opportunity and they risked the life of my granddaughter, they can forget about getting any further business from me this includes any chance to lose one of my parcels.

And now Greyhound is searching everyone's bags and using surly and rude security guards as their part in security theatre. But if they wouldn't strand 14-year-olds, wouldn't that be a better way to ensure safety?

Yeah, thank you for the warning. They've gone far downhill in recent years.

Greyhound Lines lost luggage

I hate greyhound bus company. I purchased a ticket to travel from Reno NV to Las Vegas NV but I had decided not to leave on that trip until the following week. So I called Greyhound in Reno NV and asked them not to ship my bags off to Las Vegas (they were holding them in the back room for me because I arrived early) and I will come pick them up the following day. So when I got there the next day they told me that they had shipped them off WTF. They are idiots because I had two luggage's one was tagged and the carry on wasn't. Therefore my carry on was put on a bus without a tag so now it's lost and only God knows where it could be. My other suit case that was tagged was located in Las Vegas. I asked one of the csr if they could send it back for me. She was a ### and very rude and I know she couldn't stand her job because she wasn't to pleasant about moving her lazy ### from behind her desk to go look for a bag. She ended up finding my bag and she said she would ship it back to Reno for me. We'll I talked to her on Dec 18Th and it is now Dec 27Th and I still don't have either one of my bags. I have filled out every form they told me to which was the tracer, and the complaint form. I am pissed off because all my clothes that I owned was in both of those bags and the only clothing I have is the ones on my back. Greyhound now tells me that I have to wait 90 days for it to show up and I have no idea what they will do next which I would assume NOTHING. I would never recommend this horrible company to anybody and if you do ride the bus I would stay be very aware of my luggage being put on ans taken off the bus so you wont have to go through any trouble with this company. Right now I can't do anything about this because of their stupid 90 day rule but if they don't do anything about this I will sue them and that is a promise. GREYHOUND SUCKS! THEY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS ASAP

I rode greyhound from Detroit, Mi to Gadsden, AL on Sept 15th 2009 arrived on Sept. 16th 2009 without my luggage. I had it in Nashville I took it to the next bus bound for Birmingham Al. When I arrived in Birmingham I was told I could not get my luggage to transfer it to the next bus bound for Gadsden that the employee's would transfer it for me I tried to stay and watch my Luggage but I was told by the Security Guard I had to go inside Terminal I could not Stand there and watch. Everything I owned was in there including presents for my Grandchildren and Photo's of my Father which I can't replace. I just called Greyhound and was told they are issuing me a check for 167.00 for everything I owned which doesn't even cover the camera and my clothes let alone my Laptop. I want to find out how to get everyone who has lost their luggage together and file a class action lawsuit against them. They don't care about the customers at all. I'm really pissed off. I only rode the bus because my Sister was coming back to Michigan and needed a driver.

i hate greyhound. i am in texas from new york today with lost luggage. please tell me how they lost my bags when we were switching buses in georgia. the nasty employee lady told me that when i arrive in texas my luggage woluld be waiting for me. yeah right, its wednesday night, still no luggage. as if they even care, i had to go to walmart and buy some shorts, underwear, socks etc. i have tried to call the station in houston, nobody picks up the phone. greyhound is a big scam. i know that my stuff will probably end up in that thrift store in alabama. they also informed me that if the bag wasnt checked in that i shouldnt even fill out the form for lost luggage. it was checked in and they are telling me that they have no record of it. i did have some personal items in my bag that meant alot to me. all i can say at this point is that i am not done fighting with them, they messed with the wrong person. i am not done calling them everyday and leaving them nasty emails.also another thing, i hope enough people read this and put them under.

Greyhound Lines refund unuse ticket

I purchased a ticket on line for my mother, later that day she told me she would not be able to use the ticket I called Greyhound back the same day about an hour apart. I was told that I would only get the ticket amount refunded but not the 18.00 that was considered as a gift fee what the heck ! anyway she said she would credit my card back. 2 weeks later while reviewing my credit card statement I noticed that I was not credited for the refund. I think this was done on purpose because I told the agent that this procedure of not refunding a gift fee was wrong and ripping people off, and I said I will never EVER purchase a ticekt from Grey hound again. So instead of dealing with them again I called my credit card company and had them to a charge back. Just a warning to be carfeful if you plan to take Greyhound I would not recomend it, this says a lot about a company and to me that means stay away.

Greyhound Lines rudeness, lack of responsibility

On 11/08/08, my son and I took my mother to the greyhound station in St. Louis, Mo. to catch a bus to Chyenne, Wy. We had called in advance for assistance for her as told to do.
After getting to the station, she was told by one gentleman to follow him so she could get on the bus, however there was no one to carry her baggage so my son and I carried her bags out to the bus. Once we got there another man started screaming at us and wanted to see our tickets. We told him we were just carrying her bags out since her assistance that was supposed to be provided wasn't there.
He continued to scream at us and talk to us like we were trash, so I told him I wanted his name so I could report him. At this time he got in my face and said "did you say you was gonna hit me" I told him again that I was gonna report him. He told me he was the bus driver but wouldn't give me his name. At that time my son and I walked away to find someone in charge and he came running up on my son yelling what you gonna do, you wanna do something.
I reported the incident and of course nothing was done.
Once the bus got to Denver, my mothers bus didn't make her connection and then the next bus to Chyenne broke down causing her to be over 12 later than her scheduled arrival time.
Then to top it all off, they lost her luggage and it still hasn't been found at the time of this writing (11/19/08).
I would like to know how Greyhound can still manage to exist with all the internal problems they seem to have and why would anyone want to subject themselves to this kind of treatment?
Irate bus drivers, which could lead to road rage...do we really want this type of person sitting behind the wheel of a bus? Bus terminal personnel that obviously would rather be doing something else rather than helping the people that are using their service to travel. Not to mention that airline tickets are almost half the cost of bus tickets and they get you there at the time they say.
My mother has traveled on the bus several times but this will be her last time, and I hope anyone that reads this will reconsider traveling by greyhound in the future.
Greyhound bus lines is by far the worst mode of transportation I have ever seen.

It'a all very true. I have taken them many times and on long trips. I have never ran across some rude people in my life. With my budget it is cheaper, but still regardless of the money they don't have no reason to treat people like that we are all equal and live here on this earth. People like that need to find a different kind of job if they can't work with them in a courteous manner.

Unfortunately, I believe the Greyhound bus lines will be in service for a very long time due to the cheaper last minute rates they offer. That is what most people end up using this crummy service so many times; if they need to get on the road fast and cheapily, they call Greyhound. I think that is why they treat all their customer's so rudely because they look down on them. They only see a couple hundred bucks, so therefore their motto (not said outloud of course; just displayed out loud) is "You get what you pay for." I truly hope I never ever have to get into a situation where I have to travel Greyhound again. I have traveled Greyhound plenty of times, and have many horror stories. One thing I definitely want to tell everyone, DO NOT RIDE GREYHOUND with little children in tow. They do not care and actually laugh at your misfortunes.

Greyhound bus drivers and all of the staff who are working in the station are very low class and are not educated. It is waste of money and time to travel with Greyhound Buses. I am sure the greyhound bus line will be out of busuness very soon.

Greyhound Lines greyhound overcharges on credit card purchases made on-line.

I used my wife's credit card to purchase a return ticket through Greyhound Bus lines.

According to the ticket, the charge was (including taxes) $99.54. But they charged the card $115.29. An overcharge of $15.75.

Attempts to contact Greyhound regarding this discrepency have been ignored.

Attempts made by the BBB to contact Greyhound have also being ignored.

Greyhound is BRAZENLY STEALING.

I totally can relate to all these complaints! I took greyhound from Charlotte, NC, not only were the people who work in that station RUDE! they also lost my bag, which had non replaceable photos off my children! I purchased my ticket on my debit card, I could not leave on my departure date due to child being sick, was told that ticket would be good for a year! June 5th whent to bus station, was traveling to florida to visit parents, greyhound cashier told me because i did not come and pick my ticket up, i would have to pay the $100.00 again and the $100 that came out off my debit card would be put back in, It has been over a month! and I'am still waiting for my refund.! Anyone who is thinking about using Greyhound, DONT! Go Amtrak instead if you don't like to fly, might take a little longer, but a much better experiance, and not that exspensive.

Greyhound charges $18 service charge to just order online. Or they call it a gift charge because the dad buys the kid a bus ticket. They state it right out, therefore they say they can do it. But my ignorant teenager ordered his ticket and then it's too late to do anything about the exploitive charges. Don't ever buy bus tickets online.

Greyhound Lines aggressive driving/ speeding

September 13, 2008. Hwy #3 east of Osoyoos 35-40kms.
West bound Bus "LOCAL" 1276.

On the above mentioned evening at/around 4:45-5 pm I was travelling in my vehicle to Osoyoos at the speed limit of 100 kms /hr., approaching a double lane . The Grey hound Bus # 1276 Local west bound ;all of a sudden came speeding up behind me, at least 20- 25kms faster, and attemted to pass me with on-coming vehicles. As we were coming to a hill he lost power and had to pull back. I felt he was being extremely dangerous : speeding, Attempting to pass out of nowhere from behind, Aggressively honking his horn, and then persisting to tailgate me, only 1 car length apart, for 35 kms to Osoyoos.I attempted to take fotos out of my window to show how close he was and could see him laughing and waving to me. I am appalled w/ his agressive and unsafe speeding, tailgating: pushing me to 115- 120 kms. /hr for 35kms( 1 car length apart). til I could find a safe place to pull over. Please ensure me this driver will be reprimanded for such irresponsible behavior. Thank-you, Eric.

If I do not hear anything back in 7 days I will report to the headquarters and RCMP.
