Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide customer unfriendly/deceptive policy

Having fallen on hard times I have been using boost mobile - pay as you go plan, believing that I could control minutes usage for important or emergency calls only. Not true. I am inundated with wrong number, marketing and collection calls that prematurely use up my precious minutes and thereby forcing me to refill the phone with minutes ahead of when I intend. Further, there is no way to block these calls on the boost phones so they do not eat up minutes. Boost mobile customer service was both inept at understanding the problem and completely unwilling to help resolve it. Why would they? This forces customers to buy more minutes faster. I have no way of proving this is intentional on their part, but "if it smells like a rat, it's a rat"! I believe they sell off customer numbers (Especially for "pay as you go") so that minutes are used up. I will dump boost mobile asap, but meanwhile i'm using a free voip to minimize revenue to boost mobile.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide replacement phone

On 9-8-10 my 15 yr old son ask if he could get the curve 8330 instead of school clothes, against my better judgement I agreed. So he got the phone, about 3 weeks later the phone would not do any thing it only had a white screen with (Reload programs s513). So we called tech support in order to find out what to do. After 3 different attempts with the help of the tech dept we were unsucessful after following each instruction they gave while being on the phone with them. Then we carried the phone to the boost dealer and he tried for 3 days and was also unsuccessful. Call the company several times and each time was promised a replacment phone, and each time I checked on the status it had been denied. Then was instructed to the insurance company, the insurance company stated that it was not an insurance issue and and directed us back to boost/blackberry. Again several different times I was told that a replacement phone would be sent, and again each time was denied. A rep even had me cancel the insurance stating that that was the reason we kept getting denied, so I did. A gain we were denied, this time for not doing enough trouble shooting. We had done everything that was asked of us and still my son could not use the phone. It is going on 2 months my son has been without his blackberry curve. The boost store dealer felt so sorry for us he let my son use a loaner phone until our issue was resolved, and that was a month ago. This is not fair I do not have money to go out and purchase another phone. Boost/blackberry should honor their products. Now I am out of $279 with a phone my son cannot use. The company is a scam and lier, and uses trickery to avoid doing what is right. Boost/blackberry do the right thing and replace my sons phone. [protected], security code available at request of the company during resolution of issue.

This is a copy of the last E-mail I had to send to boost about being charged twice for the purchase of one phone.
Have fun!

My name is Valerie W. On March 5th 2014 I filed a complaint with your company regarding a double charge for a purchase at 4541 East Main Street, Whitehall, Ohio, 43213. My complaint case ID for that complaint is [protected].

I was able to take the phone to the store and get one of the $85.00 charges refunded to me, however, the second charge of $85.00 was never returned to me. My bank opened and investigation into both charges. At that time my bank put $85.00 into my account while they were investigating the matter. At this point my bank is having a difficult time understanding what has happened and has taken the $85.00, that they gave me while investigating, back out of my account. This still leaves me with the second charge of $85.00 not returned to me in anyway. They see both charges to my account, they see that one of the charges was returned to me from the vender, so they have determined that the matter has been handled when in fact it has not. I have explained to them that the $85.00 charge that was returned to the account was for the item purchased being returned to the store for a refund and that the second charge of $85.00 still has not come back to me from the vender or boost in anyway. At this point they asked me to show them some sort of proof that I did in fact return an item and get a refund for it. This is the problem. I did not get anything from the vender to prove this. I was not given any new receipt or any paperwork to show I returned an item. I was not given anything at all except for one refund of $85.00 to my bank account. Again, I have tried to resolve this with the vender directly to no avail. They keep hanging up on me.

After sending the above E-mail to boost customer service I have a few updates (SAME DAY).

Sarah from escalation called me around 5:15 pm today (6/9/2014). She told me that corporate did not have that paperwork and to take it up with the store owner. I told her I have tried that before and I gave her the contact info from the original receipt. She could not get an answer from the store. She told me the only way boost could help me was if I drove to the store, called her back and put the store manager on the phone with her myself.
Of course I was outraged at the fact that Boost mobile can not get a hold of one of there own store managers and needs ME to drive there myself and put him on the phone. She suggested that I have the police go with me as well. Not kidding! I asked for her manager in more or less words. When Frances got on the phone with me I could hardly get a word in. He told me the same thing, to go to the store and put the manager on the phone and that corporate would not have any conformation of a returned and refunded item. So I asked to speak to someone over him. He said there is no one over him. I asked for contact info for corporate. He gave me this E-mail address.

I found out that BS 3D WIRELESS LLC moved to a new location and now has a new phone number as follows. 4147 East Main Street Whitehall Ohio 43213. Phone number [protected]. After repeatedly calling them I finally got an answer. The store manager would not tell me his name. I explained to him that all I need is a copy of something that I can show my bank that says I returned the purchased item for a refund showing that the $85.00 that went back onto my bank account from the vender was for the returned item and not the second charge. He said he remembered who I was, and like he had told me before, he was not giving the second charge back. This is the second time he has acknowledged that he did charge me twice for one purchase and was not going to give the second charge back. Furthermore, he told that he did not have to give me any paperwork by law so he was not going to because it goes against his business practices, and to take it up with corporate because they have the paperwork anyway, not him. I am appalled that it is against his business practices to correct a mistake and give back what he wrongfully stole from me and that Boost allows this kind of management to work under there name.

I have contacted the Whitehall Police. I will be filing a report and they will be going to BS 3D WIRELESS LLC with me on Thursday 6/12/2014 at 11:00 am.

Bottom line is that I was charged twice for one purchased item, I returned that one purchased item and got one refund for it and I have not seen the return of the second charge to this day. I want answers and I want my $85.00 put back into my account.

My bank needs a copy of the refund papers to show I returned an item and that's what the only refund of $85.00 is for so they can start going after the second charge of $85.00. I want a copy of the return and refund paperwork too.

A copy of my bank account showing both of the $85.00 charges and a copy of the original receipt were sent in with the first E-mail ; Complaint ID [protected].

I was approved 4 times for a replacement phone and denied in the exact manner as you. Finally, I was told by athe super tech people that I did have web access because the little globe worked. Well "you told me you could get google." My compliant was that I was paying for web, and could not get pictures. Her reply and official opinion was that" You have web access." Kind of like, "you have insurance so long as you dont use it." How long will this continue before the lawmakers stop it. Boostmobile does not have a corporate complaint section or even a phone number that goes to corporate headquarters. Why is this?

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide multiple phone problems

I recently puchased a blackberry 8330. Since I have had the phone I have had 2 major issues with it. First is that it will not take a charge I have to turn it off take the battery out put it back in and turn it back on. I should not have to do that with it especially only having it for 4 months. The second problem is that the sroll ball gets stuck I have to mess with it for 30 to 45 minutes before it gets unstuck. I just want to exchange my phone no upgrade or anthing. I have got the run around finally I was told to go to boost mobile.com. I decided to put in a written complaint because something needs to be done. I did not pay 300 dollars for this ### to happen. If someone from boost can please contact me my name is david graves and my number is [protected]. My email address is [protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide horrible customer service

I had their service for three weeks now and cannot begin to say how horibble and awful their customer service is. They would get an f-! First, they hang up on you so many times that I have to keep calling back to back. Their customer service agents do not speak english very well and sometimes don't understand you. They speak with heavy latino accents. (Keep in mind as said so on online, they are trying to sell their products to latino population now, mostly). Their automated system (Avr) tells you your account balance when you never ask for it. It takes you forever to even get to a customer service agent, before you gotta press a million prompts. I called to have my mobile number changed (Ptn) and they said that they now charge a $5 fee in order to do so. This company is so cheap and broke they have nothing else better to do then to charge people for a pathetic fee like that. They ride on nextel's iden network which is so old that you cannot even have a regular web service. I will transfer my number to a different carrier next month and please read this before even considering this service. I had so many different cell phone carriers in the past in this one if the worst by far! And their phones are not too cheap either. I bought the motorola i1 which runs on android os, and the web on it is so so slow like a dial up modem. It is very very sad and I paid $300+. I will be returning it back to the store so thats ok. Please don't feed them anymore money let them go broke and bankrupt. They don't care about you at all but rather them selfish selves. Their customer service gets paid for hanging up on people all day and being rude. I hope that the fcc does something soon about this company.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide fraud

Boost Mobile charged my credit card for $50.75 and $10.50 for services I never authorized. They are trying to scam me $105.00 more. I spoke to Boost Mobile customer services there reply was some one I knew and gave permission used my card. They refused to cancel charges. I asked for telephone number and info. of the people using my card they refused to give me the info. Even these Boost Mobile thieves told me charges are made and good luck with my credit card company as I will never get my money back. Boost Mobile is a foreign owned criminal company.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide terrible service, dropped calls, delayed tex etc.

Boost Mobile always provided me with less then great cell reception but I put up with it because of the price. Delayed tex, holding your arm out with the phone like an antenna to send tex and waiting forever for pics to come through but at least my calls did. Well, I moved to another location in the same city and now my calls dont go through and more then half go directly to voicemail. I am starting a business from home and when I call my customers the line drops on them it is so embarassing. Well, id had been communicating with boost and they them selves told me I dont get service in my area and suggested I transport the number. For my business sake I transported my number to another service even though they said they couldnt because boost was a prepaid phone. It went through and now BOOST will not refund my 50 dollars that i paid for one more month. I told them why I was cancelling and transported my number and they just refused to give me my REFUND saying I forfeited the money when I transported my number to another provider. UNETHICAL, when they themselves said to do so because I dont get service where I now live. 50 bucks sure add up thats crooked I wonder how much money they are getting out of people who cancel and still have money on there account. THE CEO SHOULD BE ASHAMED THAT IS BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE.

Here on the East Coast it’s no better with Boost (yes, I hate them, too). Their customer service is the worst I've ever seen, and the reception I had on the phone was terrible even though their website said my area had good reception. I only had the phone a few days when I had to send it back to QVC for a replacement due to a problem with charging. QVC, as always, was great about the return and processed it quickly. I suspended my Boost account until the replacement arrived and then tried to contact them - internet and phone - to switch to the new phone. I could find no link on their website to end the suspension and my phone calls went nowhere. Boost does offer something unique -- their phone recording hangs up on you if you don't push the right button or, heaven forbid, if you press "O" for operator (they don't exist). After numerous calls, I was hung up on each time. I submitted an e-mail and it took more than a day for someone to return my call. I paid over $60 (with tax added to the $55) for the first month and asked for a refund on the remaining days. Guess what? You can't get a refund. While there's no contract, there's no refund either if you cancel. I spoke with Jen (employee #5172055) who then transferred me to J. Sanders (employee #QA720353). Mr. Sanders said no refund can be given, that Boost only sells service. I explained that is false advertising since my reception was so poor and they were advertising otherwise and my funds did not get me service. He said "that's the way it is." What a great way to raise revenue - advertise that you can provide good service then don't and refuse to refund money to the customer when they are dissatisfied and want to cancel. I plan to write letters of complaint to the appropriate agencies and let my TV stations know about this scam. I even stopped in Radio Shack today to see if they could help since they sell for Boost. They, too, found their customer service to be a nightmare and told me that they are often on the phone for 45 minutes before they can talk to a live body. They pointed out that the benefit of a contract with other carriers is that you can actually get someone to help you when you need it. I learned an expensive lesson. I urge everyone who have had similar experiences to write their representatives and the FCC - they can't fix something they don't know is broken.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide thiefs!

So I call Boost and speak to them about the blackberry phone they have, when my 110$ I have no got damaged when it fell in water.
So After speaking to a sales rep, he informed me that the black berry was a great phone it works in our area and he highly recommended it!
So I purchased the cell phone before 4 pm.. Paid for the over night shipping because I care for my mother and am a Single mom myself, It was super important I get a new phone and QUICK! The phone didnt come the next day it took 2 days.
Still none the less I was excited to get my new blackberry! I turn the phone on and called boost to get the information transferred. (this was at 3pm) So after an hour the non english speaking person on the other end of the phone says, BTW this phone does not have coverage for your area, it wont work in your area. You need to move to jacksonville. Which is like 3 hours away! UHM ARE YOU JOKING?
He says no it doesnt work. Im like ok what now? he proceeds to tell me I have to pay to return the phone, and then they will give me a refund.
Im like by the time I actually get the refund and order a new phone because all my extra spending cash is now gone thanks to this little endeavor it will be like 2 weeks from now? And why should I have to pay to return this thing, your the ones who lied? and sold me a phone that you knew didnt work?
He sends me to his supervisor, who proceeds to tell me that maybe if I GOT A REAL JOB I COULD AFFORD ANOTHER $150 phone?!?!?!?! I freakin lost it. I cant believe someone who knows nothing about customer service would even say something like that.. I work a 40+ hour week, am a single mom, take care of a household, 4 pets, and a Disabled Mother who had a stroke 5 months ago, and I need a REAL JOB? are you insane?

He then proceeded to hang up on me when I called him a pompus ### who needed a good ### whooping. Telling me that I WAS BEING RUDE! ARE YOU NUTS? SERIOUSLY?!?!
So then after all this, I speak to about 15 more reps, everytime I called I would get you are being transferred then a woman recorded voice came on that said THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER A WORKING NUMBER and gave me sprints number. When I called Sprint they were baffled by this, but non the less tried to help, but couldnt!
THen after finally getting through to boost again and bbeing hung up on because of their inability to transfer or place you on hold properly! I was told that under no circumstances were they going to pay for the return shipping or even let me swap phones by sending me one that works with a return label in the box..
THEN they proceed to tell me that they wont close my account and refund me the money that is in there. THeir excuse is they are a prepaid company.. UHM YEAH, so is Dish and Directv and if I close my account with them they send me what money I PAID UPFRONT! And considering it holds money in your account, I want a refund.. If I walked into a grocery store told the cashier to keep my change, and 3 days later came in took a candy bar and walked out, do you think the police who arrest me would say well you prepaid so its okay? No they would lock my butt up!
Dont ever use this company! They are liars, conartists, rude, and completely ### of the earth!
They took advantage of a caregiver, with bills to pay, and a child to care for, to line their own pockets!
I hope they rot in hell! and all my friends I referred, there are about 20 of them, are going to be getting rid of their service as well.. So Boost can kiss my grits, Ill go get a contract phone. SCREW THIS!

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide refund

I was one the phone with boost mobile agents for over (3 hours) during that time I was transfered several times and in the end they killed my sim card. I wanted to cancel my number and receive my credits in a check, but I was told that they will give me a 50 dollar credit if I dont cancel. They knew it was there fault for giving me so many wrong numbers trying to unlock my sim puk or some type code, , , well its been 1 week and my claim has been denied and I will not get a refund for what they have done. So they killed my sim card, made me stay on the phone line for 3 hours, and I lost many contact numbers, , but they will not do anything about it. I am going to contact bbb and if needed file a civil suit against them. So be where if you call and try to get tech. Help, , , you may lose your sim card and numbers

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide waaaayyyy overcharging on unlimited talk, text & web

Bought unlimited talk, text & web. Every time I got a phone call or text my account balance would drop several dollars! This is by far the biggest scam I have ever encountered. I should have known it was going to be a pain when it took 53 minutes on the phone with customer service to activate my phone. I was given the option of keeping my current phone number, which I chose to do & the confused operator tried to do. To no avail, he told me that it wasn't an option to keep my current number & acted like I was crazy because I wanted to keep the same number. Heed this warning, it is a complete rip-off & a major headache to deal with this so called company. Poor, poor service & even worse hidden charge fees that they make out to be unlimited for $50 a month! Spare yourself the agony!

ive had boost for over 5 years, and have had the unlimited plan for about a year and have never had a problem with them charging extra money. the service for texting sucks sometimes but thats really not boost's fault but Sprint's fault since that is who they use for their signal.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide - cell phone service

My brother who is mental challenged got his first apartmnet last month and we purchased him a boost mobile instead of a house phone. Our family has a system in palce where he checks in each day to ease our minds; to make sure he is okay. Its easter sunday and we should be getting ready for church. We have not heard anything from my brother but I get a knock...

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide ripoff

[also posted under 11950 sw garden place]
My wife noticed a strange charge for $25.00 on our master card originated by "11950 sw garden place" and asked me what it was. I didn't recognize it either, so we began investigating. Google brought us to this page where we saw several [redacted]s of fraudulent charges, all of which track back to 11950 sw garden place as some sort of att cellular blling operation. Since our cellular service is thru boost, not att, so we didn't make a att-boost connection at that time.

Because we believed the charge to be fraudulent, we notified our credit card company. They recognized the billing signature as one they receive many complaints about, immediately cancelled that credit card, and issued a new one with a different number. Express delivery for our replacement cards cost us $8.00.

Then, in reviewing our boost mobile account online, we found that a balance of $28.20 on one of our two accounts had been zeroed out and exactly one minute later, our credit card had been charged another $25.00 - - apparently the same $25.00 we were trying to get answers for when this all started.

Nowhere in boost's autopay by credit card did they mention using a third party to actually collect the payments - however, they do - - enter vesta boost at 11950 sw garden place in portland or.

Long story short, despite boost representative's full assurance when we shifted to them that neither our deposits nor our minutes would ever expire, we were told today by boost that both expire every 90 days. When I tried to close both accounts, I was told that boost does not close accounts - rather, when the deposit runs out without being refilled, the account automatically expires.

The fact a boost representative told us what he did, neither boost customer service nor boost billing was willing to make things right with us.

So - boost and vesta boost ripped us off for a total of $82.00 (Including that $8.00 express delivery fee for replacement credit cards).

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide phone service, hidden charges, customer services

Boost Mobile is a f*** joke. I call on Wed to get my phone re-activate, because it been more then 60 days. I still didn't get services I paid 55.00 from my debit card when they told it will be 50.00 after the card got charge. Then I was to pay additional 10.00 from restoring the services, they didn't process it( which in the end they want me to pay 11.75). Iask before being transfer again if that's all I have to pay is the 10.00 (yes). BULLSH** No phone services, all 9 of the the d** services rep was looking ( or not looking) my account could've inform, they didn't charge me the 10.00 for activation. I have to wait three days because the money needs to clear the bank before services to be provide to me.(I was told) I call back to Boost Mobile to get my money, was transfer to 5 rep within 45 minustes just to get a refund. On top of that, the rep couldn't find where I made a payment of 55.00 to the account, just 3 days ago( clear in 2 days). Nobody want to provide with a confirmation number or that additional charges will be give to you. I ask if I can pick the telephone number or will the give me one this time, the little girl told me will don't let pick the number the computer does that. She told me, I didn't pick my number I am mistaken, I told her did and she can't tell me I didn't b/c I want to our authorized store.

I left ATT( for this bull) thinking this is a GOOD deal unlimited minutes/text for 50.00, but their customer services sucks.. nobody d*** listerning and telling you wrong info just to get you off their line. if you don't - get the info then waste people time. nobody know SH***
If I dont get my money in tree days- I will blew up that line, and curse every rep out since they like to transfer people so d*** much...

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide lock on phone

I just recently purchased the boost phone (i 856) because it looked like a cool phone and boost mobile sounded like they had a reasonable deal to give to the public - unlimited talk, text, unlimited local and long distance calls and unlimited internet access for one flat rate of 50 dollars a month. Now remember I paid $170.00 for the boost (i 856) brand new out the door but it wasent until I had my phone activated that I found out that boost has a lock on every boost mobile phone reguardless of the model and I could not download any free ringtones boost blocks all their phones from downloading any free ringtones once you buy a boost mobile phone the only way for you to get ringtones is you are required to buy them from boost also if you want to download one of your own mp3 to make into a ringtone they have a block on that also - all ringtones must be purchased through boost mobile no exceptions price ranges from $1.99 to $ 3.00 and boost locks your phone to make sure you have to buy all ringtones this also applies to background wallpapers for your phone same thing I called boost and told them that the only reason I went with boost was I thought the I 856 was a cool phone but if I knew they put a lock on there phones I would not have bought from boost I told them I wanted a refund and I was told no. I am through with boost mobile they are a rip off, I live in cleveland, ohio so I am going with revol wireless they are $5.00 a month less than boost for the same deal and they have no restrictions on their phones let me encourage you if you want to buy a locked phone then buy any of boosts phones they are all locked but if not then you better stay away from boost mobile and look for another deal

Buying the ringtones isn't the only way to get them on your phone...You can go to myxer and send them to a friend's phone and then bluetooth it to your phone for FREE...Also you can buy a 20 to 30 dollar bluetooth device for you computer and send songs straight from your computer to you phone...I love boost mobile. It is the best deal in town and they have treated me well...If you are too ignorant to figure out a way to send ringtones to your phone then yeah maybe boost mobile is not for you!

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide unauthorized payment

This is the third time I have found that sw garden took money out of my account. This is unauthorized. I have about had all I can take of this company. I like boost mobile but sw garden is as crooked as the day is long. I wrote to boost mobile about this because I can not get an option on their automated service to talk to a live person to get this straightened out.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide phone repair, poor customer service

I absolutely hate boost mobile. For $50 a month they treat you like crap, the customer service is horrible, they dont have any kind of insurance for those expensive boost phones. Lawd forbid your phone messes up or it needs repair they tell you to send it to motorola repair in texas they keep it for damn near 3 weeks then send it back saying they wont fix it cause its due to physical damage. Besides that they wont give you the option of getting a loaner phone or replace the phone. I bought the motorola i9 feel too bad to say how much I paid for it and after a week of having it, it stopped charging. I inquired about insurace when I got the phone and the foreigner said dont worry about it if something happens ur under manufacturers warranty. So if something happens to your phone you are f*****... Period. They have these wireless stores on every corner all with those foreigners behind a bullet proof glass cause they know they are rippin people off. The man told me to send the phone to repair and he knew they werent gonna fix it so when I did send it back they returned it and they said it was due to physical damage that voided out my warranty. How could I physically damage the phone just by pluggin it and unplugging it to charge, you are gonna be careful with an expensive phone like that. I didnt drop it there wasnt a scratch on it. The supervisor in repair said well I dont know what to tell you and she was very smart elic. They dont care about you or your problems with the phone all they want is ur $50 a month. Im shocked someone hasnt went postal on them yet! I am gonna pass the word and make sure they loose as many customers as I can possible reach and warn.

I bought i boost max, which I have insurance on when it stop working, I didn't have enough money for deductible so the man at boost told me to BUY a loaner then report it when i get the money, now the insurance wont replace my phone unless boost informs them that I did have insurance at time of accident. Boost said because i changed phones that cant do that and i will have to buy another phone and they will give me 30% off. So in total that means I will have spent $400 on first phone plus $200 more for second and $100 for insurance deductible =$700

This mobil company is a scam. They steal money for service that does not function for one day or maybe a week. The people that work for boost are in a different country and you can not understated what they are saying. They harass the customer and they do not listen. They make virgin mobil look like gold. And we know they are now scammers too with over charges. to but not as bad as boost.

I hate boost mobile, I've called in numerous times about how bad my internet is, I never get calls returned, the make sure they never give corporates number/email/address.no contact with there authority at all! So customer service treats you like trash, and don't call back, puts the phone down while your talkn, and never have a explanation for anything that goes wrong with there service. They know I can't afford another phone so they care less about if I'm a happy customer.you all should be ashamed, your customers are who pays your bills!

Boost mobile has over charged my account. It is a joke to get your money back. They took out 2 payments but will only give me credit for one. Makes no sense. The customer service is rude and keeps you on the phone in my case over 1 1/2 hours. Don't bother with the data package you can't surf the net because the signals are too weak. RUN DON'T WALK FROM BOOST!

Boost Mobile is a rip off. I payed my bill three weeks late and because my payment date fell on the second of the month and I payed on the 25th, my phone was cut off on the second of the month which means I payed for 5 days of service and now in order to keep my number I must pay for a new month. Shame on you Boost.

This store does not collect taxes on products or payments, which is against the law!
They also are liars and treat customers like crap. Very very very rude!
One lady left in tears. I felt so bad for her. I ran outside to apologize for them. I told her some people are just hateful.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide poor serious, inferior phone for price

SERVICE

I cannot access Gmail. During the past month, I have made numerous phone calls to Boost about this, easily spending 11 hours on the phone with them. At first, Boost claimed it didn't understand the problem, each time asking the same questions, and giving me the runaround. Finally, after weeks, Boost says it does not provide access.

As Boost advertises its monthly unlimited service as unlimited calls, texting, and web access, and web access implies the ability to access major web-based email, I consider this to be false and deceptive advertising.

Other problems:

The web connection is extremely slow.

The I 9 phone worst designed phone for its cost that I have ever encountered.

More Detail:

During the past month, every time I called I got the same routine every time: How sorry they were. The last call, I didn't get even that. Then they proceeded to ask the same questions. Supposedly I have an account into which they were entering notes, but every time I call it's was as if they'd never heard of me.

You can't contact Technical Support directly, and Techical Support either does not respond, or does not respond in the timeframe and gets back to the customer with a half-a--ed voicemail or email claiming it needs more information. No call back information is left. Then you have to go through Customer Service again and play 20 questions, even if you say you are returning a Tech Support call. Then you get shoved down the black hole of hold again.

PHONE

I hate this phone. The fact that is was so expensive makes it even worse. I paid about $300, and that didn't even include a charger, a wire connecting the phone to the computer and headphones or earbuds and I can't use most earbuds.

The flaws are endless, including: the menu functions are awkward and time-consuming; instead of being returned to the immediately proceeding menu you are returned to a main menu. The shutter sounds can't be muted, so if I use them in a class I disturb people. The menus are not logical and the commands are not intuitive. The camera and video camera are substandard.

This the third or fourth phone I've owned, by far the most expensive and it is far and away the hardest to operate.

Direct to boostmobile customer service after" do you want to proceed anyway" press:24221. Let page know it works. This removes the frustration they get with the phone tree, which softens us up for customer service. Just spent from 3-1-11 to 3-17-11 trying to get phone fixed. Finally, i was told it did work, because I said it worked. The little globe was on the screen.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide customer service and quality

Type: complaint
To: boost mobile
Topic: service quality
Subject: quality and service is awful, boost is horrible, and I think boost knows it
Message: I went into the boost mobile store in winder, ga. June 22, 2009. I purchased a motorola i335 cell phone and prepaid 50. 00 for the unlimited talk, text and web. I thought it would be a great deal. I had already checked to make sure I was in the coverage area, according to the map online, I was in good coverage area. I used my phone outside and around town for about 4 hrs, made a few calls, of which one call was breaking up when I was outside of wal - mart, and I had one dropped call.
But the real problem started when I couldn't use my phone inside. I then called customer care with boost to trouble shoot, at which time the call was breaking up and I went outside and around my yard, I then discovered that I couldn't make calls inside or even around my home. I had to go down the street. Boost customer care was saying all the time we can't hear you, you are breaking up. . . Can you go somewhere and get a better signal? No! Then I went back to my local winder boost mobile, (Not radio shack) where the owner, did a factory reset. . . Still same problem. I went back yet again for the 3rd time at which time I traded my phone for another i335, still same thing. I go back again and find out that I need to upgrade my phone and pay another 30. 00 to do this. Still same thing, I call customer care again to trouble shoot the new phone. It doesn't work. I go back to the store for the 5th time and find out that I can only get back my money for the phone, not the money for the first month service. The owner explains to me that I bought the sim card and it is mine. . . "sell it on ebay or something, it is yours, you bought it. " it is my ported number, sell it on ebay! I'm furious at this point. I then call boost mobile customer service, at which time I am informed that it is only according to the individual store policy, if I get a refund. They can not help me.
While I was in the store another individual came in the store and couldn't get service either.

Boost you need to efund my 50. 00 immediately.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide fraud and identity theft

I found out that somebody open a boost mobile account under my name without my consent and also paid the montly payments with my checking accouts. I called boost mobile customer services line. And told them that cell phone that is under my name I didn't opened that account. I told them that is fraud account and I want it close and that I want my money back into my account. The representative said that she can't close that account due to I don't know the account password. How I going to know that I account password if somebody stole my identity and I even didn't that account was under my name. The representative didn't close the account and somebody still using the cell phone. Both are criminals the person who got the phone and boost mobile known that account isn't mine aren't helping. Criminals. I hope that nobody trust on them using good people Identities to get services under our names. Don't deal with this company

To thetawhat..

How exactly does what you say have any merit when he clearly said it was paid with HIS money? cause then OBVIOUSLY it was his name.

I swear, how intelegent are you people required to be to get hired in that company in the first place? Lack of common sense must be a preferred trait.

The same thing happened to me this weekend. I had JUST hung up from customer no-service and tried to call tehm right back...and "account could not be verified" message came on..I couldn't even call customer service! They said my password did not match when I called customer no service from another phone five minutes later. They said with no password they did not have access to the account and unless I made one up that matched I was simply going to have to open a new account..buy a new phone..even though mine was in my hand...and buy a new month of service. I had two weeks left on what I had paid for. I think someone at Boost was opening a new account for someone as my DEC number pulled up my name and account, but not my phone number...which was new as was the password. They are currently "investigating", but after 18 hours, a lost day of work they refuse to compensate me! They say..."we got your phone working and your number back..that is all we need to do."

First of all, I work for the boost corporation and your name has nothing to do with it nor does your address. There is no identity theft involved with this. Boost Mobile is a PRE-PAID cell phone company. We DO NOT take credit checks therfore we DO NOT take your social. I had a guy the other day have his name as Denzel Washington on his account. Did it ever occur to you that maybe there is more than one person in this country that has the same name as you do? Think about that.

Boost Mobile / Boost Worldwide unauthorized duplicate charges

Local retail establishments in waco, tx, did not carry the particular phone I wanted, the i776w (Purple) so I went online to order. My billing address on my credit card is a po box, and when I entered it while attempting to purchase, the site came back and advised me they couldn't complete my order, that the address supplied had to be a physical address. I then entered my physical address and I got a bootsmobile prompt that state it didn't match my credit card?!?!?! (For the record, I order online frequently and any reputable site always gives the opportunity to enter a billing address and a delivery address-especially when ordering gifts, flowers, etc. ) during this process, I went through the process of entering all of my personal information, to include my credit card number. Remember, i'd gotten a prompt on the boostmobile site that stated "your order cannot be completed".

I was advised by boostmobile.com that I could not order online, so I phoned their sales dept. Firstly, I got the impression this is (1) not a reputable company, and, (2) has some mexican origin-as in mexico.

I explained what had transpired online, and after burning 50 min. Of cell phone time attempted to purchase their product on the phone with one of their reps, the individual comes back and advises me "the system won't take it". I asked the rep to please check with a supervisor that there has to be a way to make a purchase by phone. The supervisor, after attempting to do what i'd already explained I had done, and the previous boostmobile rep had done, advises me "the system won't take it, we're not set up to take it that way". Well, that doesn't make sense.

I'd just paid my personal monthly bills that morning online, through my bank account, and went into my online banking late that same night to see which ones had cleared. Imagine my horror when I discovered 4 charges from boostmobile for $108.24. As a result, it had a domino affect and all the bills i'd paid online that morning, were bouncing, and the ins od fees were piling up. My personal checking account was a great big old mess. At once, began the nightmare of calling the customer care, customer service, etc. , every number I could locate online for boostmobile, and they were either not working nos. , etc. The supervisor I had spoken to actually gave me a no. That was not even in service. Another no. I located online, I was on hold 15 min. , then an automated announcement stated I was call 40+ in que, do the math. I'd been on hold forever... Literally, hours.

Contacted my bank first thing the next morning and I learned that the bank has to follow mastercard rules and regulations. Which state in part, that company, meaning boostmobile, that submitted the charges, must fax or otherwise call the bank to withdraw those charges. I could dispute the charges of course, but that process takes 7-14 days. Meanwhile, every ck, debit card purchase, etc. , would be returned and ins od charges incurred.

I tried for several hours to locate someone within boostmobile, by email, phone, etc. , to contact to assist me in withdrawing their unauthorized charges to no avail.

Yep, I did give them my credit card number online when attempting to purchase a phone, but they refused to take it due to the billing and shipping addresses being different and told me online that my purchase could not and would not be completed.

Stay away from this cell phone carrier. They appear to put their manpower into sales, but once you're "sold" - there is no customer service available. You're stuck, and then if and when you decide you don't want the service, they have your credit card ino - how are you going to contact them to stop the service and the deductions?

Buyer beware. Save yourself the misery and heartache, trust me... Whatever agency handles cell phone carriers needs to get down on bootsmobile and their practices in a really bad way, and in a really big hurry.

And if by chance you do use this carrier, you best be very vigilant, because I promise you, sooner or later, you will have serious issues with them.

The worst company to have if you run into a problem! Any savings will go with the aggravations of getting someone to help you.
It is easier to hit the lotto than to get someone to answer the phone everything is recorded.
Now with verizon and att offering pay as you go phones, there is no reason to go with boost!

Boostmobile is like buying a phone from the trunk of a car, all smilyface during the sell with heavies waiting in the wings when you complain( customer service run around, no corporate number, anywhere, lies, lies and i'm so sorry for your problems) but no solutions. Where is the law that makes after sale contact with the conman, a requirement.
