Ameriprise Financial

Jim Nocito is one of Ameriprise's financial planner/advisors. I went to him on a recommendation and placed too much trust in that recommendation and the brand. My complaint is that he 1) did not invest as I directed him to do, 2) did not adjust when I requested him to do so, 3) after months of attempting to get to a portfolio balance that aligned with my original statements and documentation, he cashed me out on the largest loss day in years and without direction or confirmation, 4) he left the cash in accounts that would continue to accrue management fees for him, despite the fact that no management was necessary or planned. I am out of Ameriprise completely, with a $30k+ loss directly attributable to his misconduct. Retribution pending. His actions have caused me to reassess my willingness to place my life savings in any company's control, so this is not only warning to consumers/investors, but to other companies and advisors. One would think that he would be driven out of the business if only to protect the industry's reputation ... hmmm
