As someone who values privacy and simplicity in online communication, I decided to give Chatzy a try. While the platform offers a convenient way to chat with friends or strangers without the need for registration, I encountered some concerning issues. The lack of effective moderation tools led to instances of inappropriate content and abuse of power by staff members. This compromised the overall experience and made it challenging to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. My far-flung friends and I were happy to pay $129 a year for an ad-free, safe, albeit no frills place, to chat with one another when we subscribed in 2012, after years of chatting in increasingly discourteous public and not-so-private private forums. We missed a few bells and whistles, notably the ability to edit out typos and to post pictures, but it was worth it not to deal with very strange strangers or distracting ads.

But ...

It's virtually impossible to get help with the site. We have been locked out a few times, and are currently on Day Three of what appears to be a widespread lockout affecting other, public rooms, and we don't even know if the site operators are aware of the issue. Or if they went out of business without telling us.

Or...

Maybe they did tell us, via the email account used to begin the subscription, but that account was hijacked two years ago and Chatzy doesn't allow the account to change email addresses. Ever.

I heard about Chatzy and I decided to try it out. What I have noticed right away is that they are a real piece of work. They are acting like they are all that and a bag of chips. But honestly, they are just a bunch of people in a team who think they can do whatever they want.

It seems like they block people without any reason. They don't really care about the service they provide and even less about their customers. It's just a place where nobody will help you, that's for sure. I don't really recommend using Chatzy because of their attitude. They should start acting like professionals instead of a bunch of high school kids.

I don't want to give them my business because of their lack of respect for their customers. If you are looking for a chat site where you would feel welcome, this is not the one. Go find something else because Chatzy is not worth your time nor your money.

In fact, they kind of discourage you from seeking help or trying to help others. So, if you're a parent, you better be careful and keep an eye on what your kids are doin' online. If you find Chatzy on their computer or phone, you better block that thing right away!

But here's the kicker, somehow this troll got ahold of my personal info that I used for my payment to Chatzy. How sketch is that?! I reached out to the Chatzy folks, but they didn't do a damn thing about it. They just shut down my room instead, sayin the troll was postin links to some nasty child stuff. I mean, I get it, that's messed up, but they didn't even try to help me out or investigate the doxxin situation.

Long story short, I wouldn't recommend Chatzy to anybody. There's too many creeps and not enough support from the site. Stay far away, my friends.

I recently tried using Chatzy (chatzy.com) as a means of seeking depressive help, but unfortunately, my experience was anything but helpful. My experience was truly unpleasant and made my anxiety worse.

What went wrong was that one of the moderators on the chat seemed to have an obsession with my sexual orientation. I was surprised and felt attacked when the mod found out that I was gay. Instead of helping me cope with my depression, the mod began to make fun of my sexual orientation and repeatedly called me derogatory slurs. This was totally uncalled for behavior. I was silenced while receiving numerous negative messages such as, "you are the reason many people are abandoning Christianity," and "homos pretending to be Christian are destroying a once pure faith," and "normal people thinking it is corrupt because [censored]s like you become priests and stuff and ruin everything."

It is sad to think that such an online community could be so toxic and unhelpful. Instead of receiving the much-needed support, I was subjected to senseless name-calling that worsened my anxiety. The mods seemed to be abusing their power rather than using it to create a healthy and conducive environment. Finally, I was kicked out of the chat with the message that I was going to hell which was completely unwarranted, and left me feeling even lower.

In conclusion, I would not recommend using Chatzy as a means of seeking depressive help. The behaviour of the moderators was entirely out of line and their actions made me very uncomfortable. This experience showed me how some forum moderators hold too much authority and can take advantage of it by curtailing others' freedom of speech and expression. Overall, my experience was disheartening and regrettable.

Chatzy, man oh man, what a site! It's almost like they don't care about the users at all! You know, they limit the power of chat admins, leaving the trolls to have free reign. It's like they're trying to scapegoat the admins for the shortcomings of the site. It's rough out there, lemme tell ya.

But even though Isaac was doing a great job, he's still going to go down in Chatzy history as one of the most hated admins. It's not fair, but that's just how it is. And that's why it's risky for anyone who wants to be a chat admin on Chatzy. They're not going to get support from the higher-ups, and the users might turn on them in a heartbeat.

So, if you're thinking about becoming a chat admin on Chatzy, just be aware that you're in for a bumpy ride. The site only cares about money, and the users might not have your back. But hey, if you can make a positive impact like Isaac did, then you'll have made a real difference.

Update: 7-18-23: The admins of this site had a good idea. Too bad they do not have the competencies to implement it. Unreliable. Frequent outages. Last one all tor versions are being blocked by cloudfu--ckers.
You know them. They are the script kiddies than cannot find their as--ses in the dark with both hands and a flashlight. Every time they have an outage at this unreliable chat site, they have some lame excuse. So my advice is don't depend on anything from this site. Not dependability, not privacy. Why do "developers" put this crap on the net? Wasting peoples time beta testing their garbage and teaching them how to run a website?
I have NO commericial on interest conflick based solely on a few months using it or trying to use it. They claim it works with tor but half the time it doesn't.

Flaky site trying to track and id you via browser fingerprint. Works about half the time where you can actually enter the chat room you wasted your time creating. Another site run by wankers, probably a CIA honeypot to boot Don't count on entering your "private" room to get important messages as half the time you won't be able to. This has nothing to do with TOS violations, it's just another crap site run by nincompoops. Your room will disappear for no reason, you won't be able to get your messages because you get a bs message from the hackers that https is disallowed as is anti-scripting addons on your browser (we want to know WHO you are and WHERE you are) Good luck.

Chatzy only cares for revenue and does not like it when people rally together to demand the company represent their interests. Chatzy therefore limits the power of chat admins meaning trolls can easily access the site, and use them as scapegoats for the lack of tools that have been made available to them. Majority of users do not understand the difficulties admins have to go through and why everything is stacked against them. They only think for themselves. And because Chatzy is full of pedophiles and trolls, and some of them are even allowed to make rooms themselves, the decent chat admins need to be strict to protect their users.

The best example of such a case was Isaac who decided to salvage the therapy chat rooms, by organising people together to put Chatzy to task and get rid of all the predators that were using these rooms to prey on teenagers. Many hate blogs have been written about him by pedophiles and other haters who were annoyed that he banned them, and Chatzy also tried to destroy his rooms for trying to make user interests sync with the interests of room admins. This was despite the fact he was providing them even more revenue than previously, to demonstrate there is a better way even for Chatzy. People have used him as a scapegoat and the source of the problem, not understanding that he has to be strict to keep people safe. And thus he will go down as one of the most hated people on the site, despite being the only chat admin to this point who successfully united users together on a large-enough scale to demand that Chatzy improve the site with the money they are given.

This should deter future people who desire to be chat admins who think they can do a better job than those before them. They should be aware that Chatzy won't offer them support and only cares about money. That the chat admins risk being doxxed and vilified by ignorant users, who are protecting the very predators who aim to exploit them.
