i been trying to get my voucher changed from a so to a apartment i been waiting on a year 3 of my workers quit and camba not picking up the phone or now helping i live in the ywca building in brooklyn an its very disgusting i been trying trying too get help but your dont believe in helping people who really need it my name is antonnett felton and my numbe [protected] please contact asap

Camba.org Professionalism

On several occasions between October 2022 till present Maureen Thornhill, Program Manager of 19 Winthrop Brooklyn NY 11225 makes a stereotype to me because I have substance abuse issues. She makes me feel like Im just a addict. The place I live is nasty and she knows it. All she cares about is rent and signing the papers for your employee visits. I dont want her calling me she isnt a good person and should not make me feel like I should be dead

Camba.org Micca patient tenant who’s harassing me

Hi I need help out of this building with my next door neighbor . He’s a mentally sick person . He’s walking around naked antagonizing my door . I’ve called cops numerous of times about him and nothing ever is done. He throws rocks out the window, tv out the window everything he wants calling on the devil . He sets fire in his house few times. HELP

Desired outcome: An Emergency transfer is def needed. Police complainants are issued to management to be notified about everything and nothing . I’m scared out my life everyday can’t sleep

Camba.org My case manager

I’ve found an apartment in august viewed it signed lease took it to my casemanager next was the pre Clarence in which it passed next was the inspection in which it failed 3 times due to minor issues that was fixed fast forward to this past Saturday October the 14th in which it passed the brocker sent over a new lease starting November first I emailed and called my casemanager to see if she got the documentation no response or call back I’ve even left messages at the front desk no response I just wanna know if she put my package through so me and my kids can be in our apartment she’s very unprofessional

Desired outcome: I just want my package to get sent off and request for furniture money

Camba.org Waiting for a response

We applied for section 8 back in July 2023. It’s October still not response. We have a court date November 1st and would like someone from CAMBA to reach out or answer their phone. It is three months with no response or action. No one at CAMBA answered the phone when I call. It’s frustrating and disappointing. They only do this in marginalized communities. CAMBA is using public funds for their own personal use and that needed to be investigated. I need someone to reach out to me immediately.

I’ve been trying to get on to one of the housing ambassadors at camba 2244 church ave ever since I put my name on the list back in February no one answers but when I walked up in there the receptionist is sitting right by the desk and I’m calling and she’s not answering we are in August now 6 months I’m in a situation with 2 children living in a room an HPD SECTION 8 VOUCHER nobody wants I’m just trying to get help as I am writing this someone just answered and hang up the

We went to CAMBA on church ave in Brooklyn back in July, did the application for section 8 it’s 3 months and we have not heard anything back. I reach out via email, phone still no response. I emailed Fatima and she has never responded back to me. It’s frustrating they have a 6.6 million dollar budget and they refuse to assist the public. They need to be investigated. I will do my best to get to the bottom of this. CAMBA needs to stop abusing public funds and not helping the people. It’s illegal and it’s not right. They only treat black and brown people that way.

Funny that I am reading this because I have been also calling leaving numerous voice messages to return my calls and nobody and I mean nobody is calling back. These [censored]ing people have jobs and they are not doing it they all need to be fired and rehire better people for the job it [censored]ing annoying those people Damn

Camba.org CityFHEPS claim

I am a disabled person with HHA/42 hours per week, and a single mom trying to keep our apartment. We live in Brooklyn NY 11235, in an apartment building, Despite the fact, I had an active ERAP at that time, make my partial payments every 2 weeks and my rental arrears were not high (as of today $1500), my landlord trying to evict me since 12/2022. My landlord was aware I am disabled, however, I've been serving the court papers the next day after my knee reconstruction surgery.

I've been on worker's comp due to a work-related accident. I've been trying to reach Camba since 10/2022. Then, on 02/27/2023 they finally put my name on their waitlist. My first initial phone interview took place on 3/28/23. Since then, I've talked to numerous people (saved all info, such as names, dates, calls & emails). Up today I am not sure if they even finally completed my intake.

Desired outcome: Please speed up the process to prevent homelessness

Camba.org Non-profit organization

I am contacting you because I’m having issues with the Fulton street location. I first called Camba in December and waited 8 weeks for a phone call, then I went into the office on February 14 to apply for now with my rent. Two weeks ago I called in inquiring about the case status and the enrollment specialist claims my ID was missing out of the packet but when she did the enrollment she made a copy of my ID. She wouldn’t have said anything if I didn’t call. I called them today again to check the status of the case because I received a notice from NYCHA stating they want to know about the rent payment in seven days. They told me it could take weeks for me to be assigned to a case manager and I’m not emergency because I’m not in housing court. So I asked the supervisor in order for the process to be speeded up I have to be in housing court and she said yes. That doesn’t make sense to me. They supposed to try to avoid clients going to housing court.

Desired outcome: I would like my rent paid and also to apply for a voucher.

I called for an appointment with camba in may 18 2022 . They gave me the run around. I came to the office I was treated unfairly they refused to open the door and laughed at me while I was at the door I called the governors office and she was able to get the supervisor to come outside and collect my paper work . My paper work was lost so I resubmitted it...

Camba.org not getting help about to be evicted

I initially called in January I was told I had to wait 3-4 weeks someone would contact me nobody never did so I called again for like a week straight was giving my caseworker name and number but ms Williams refused to call me back in June maybe July I was called in to sign up for an emergency housing voucher she doesn’t want to sign me up for city fheps my landlord gave me an 90 day eviction I gave it to Janine Williams and her supervisor tianna Moncion still haven’t heard from either one of them.

Camba.org Homebase services and fheps voucher distribution.

I've been calling camba and leaving messages for over a year and a half. When I walk in they say I need and appointment. I call and the process starts all over again. Whosoever manages that site is appearing to be unfit for the role. I've left messages, called other cambas and even got a friend who knows someone who works there to ask them to at least return their calls...all to no avail. They need to be audited to ensure that they are providing the best service possible to they're clients.

Desired outcome: Have them return they're calls hire competent staff to ensure calls are returned promptly and the need of thee client are at the minimum addressed and acknowledged.

Camba.org 2244 church Ave

Went to the office and the lady at the desk told the people who were waiting for help to take a card and call the number in the card due to the workers are not seeing anyone, again. This behavior been going on for months. Then when you call they don’t answer the phone it goes to voicemail and no one calls back. The lady at the desk also said, “don’t leave a voicemail we not going to answer it.” People are really having real issues with their living situation and they are not helping.

Desired outcome: Don’t turn people away when they come to the office.

Camba.org Emergency transfer

Camba.org HB 1958 Fulton Street, Bklyn, NY, follow up assistance

I was granted a CITYFHEPS voucher and found a room in BROOKLYN, NY 11225. After residing in this room for a few months the Landlord began harassing me to a point that I wanted to leave as much as she did. After, doing the research I was informed that I had to seek help from The Camba, Homebase Bklyn location in 1958 Fulkton because of the zip code. After some time of making contact I was helped in this matter to begin the process 7/21/21. I was finally approved for the CityFHEPS transfer 11/23/21. Being that the lease expired 1/5/2022. I knew I had to move fast. I finally found a place that would accept the voucher. I made contact with CAMBA HB Bklyn for the next steps and documents. Camba, HB returned back with the needed documents on 12/7/21. I was then informed by CAMBA that my case was closed and had to re-open and fill out all the documents all over again. This of course took time. CAMBA reached out the the Landlord with the process and documents needed on 12/14/2021. After that I have been texting, calling and emailing all parties involved all the way up until 1/13/2022 asking for any updates on what was the status and have received no response from anyone in copy on the emails. And as of now can't reach anyone by phone because all mailboxes are full and can't accept any messages. I am up in the air at this point not knowing what happened because no one can be reached. All I need is to know is the voucher valid and what happened but no one is available for the update, and several people have been included in the process.

Desired outcome: What happened with the documents, where they rejected, did the landlord refuse and what should be my next steps. I should not be subjected to go through the shelter system again because I don't have anyone to guide on what to do

On here a person complaint about Camba and his or voucher.

Gets what? You are not alone in this matter. I have who desperate needs help. I have contacted Camba numerous times on different ways but they fail to reply. Same situation as the other person, they don't answer the phone or can't leave a message because is full.

I lost my apt a year ago and came to them when it was happening and they basically told me I came too late and I made too much money, now I've been staying in my mother's apt in the projects in a 2 bedroom with my four kids and brother and now I have to leave within the week and I come to camba and they give me an apt in January! I have to move now, and they just have me an appt for January when someone could of spoke to me, they are never busy, there were about 6 people at the desks and an empty office, camba does not help homeless prevention, it contributes to it

Camba.org to move in a bigger apartment

Hy my complain is about camba housing society who is not allowing me to change the apartment which is not enough for 3 adults and one child . My case number is 9675305-i i can pay the difference of my rent my landlord is also troublemaker every summer he bodders me bcoz of air condition.
