Xoom is working with a group who is committing fraud in the
Philippines. I was solicited to buy a product that turned out to be a fraud and
they use Xoom for the transaction. I asked Xoom for assistance they refuse to
help mean in any fashion which led me to believe that they were involved in the
fraud. I sent countless emails and request and they will not provide any information
to help me investigate the details of this activity. I firmly believe that zoom

After using XOOM for years to send money to friends in the Philippines I was told my account was cancelled because I broke their rules by sending "DONATIONS"! I am not sending donations I am sending some friends money from my Ministry! I receive donations from people in the USA to HELP others around the world with my ministry. They claim 6 hours rush delivery in Metro Manila, it's now been 18 hours and 4 calls to customer service have netted a BIG ZERO. When asked where or who the partner company is they don't know. Phone number no clue. They communicate by email only but of course they have o send the mail. One was sent 7 hours ago to which they have not responded. It 5:30pm on Saturday. Hello There,

I am very upset with the Xoom customer service and specially with your transaction cancellation process. I have made two transaction last week on 12/22/2012 on 11:17pm and 11:21pm for an amount of $147 and $149.99 respectively.

Go to viamericas.com for the lowest cost provider with friendlier service. Compare and see for yourself.

I offer this rec. because of the terrible experience I had with these people. If you try to minimize fees by sending larger amounts they close your account. Why? Because they prey on the poor slobs who send small amounts and thus they can charge more fees. Plus the customer service is rude and arrogant.

The best way to retaliate is to cost them business. Spread the word if we want to make a difference....

I had a Xoom account that I used to send money to personal acquaintences in The Phillipines. Saturday I tried to use the account and it was not accepting my password. When I called customer service, they told me that I violated the terms of service (a totally outrageous lie), but they cannot tell me what term I violated. First time user of Xoom service. Initiated a transfer on Friday evening and on Sat morning the transaction still didn't complete. Called customer service several times and they weren't very helpful in providing status or making an effort to complete the transaction. Eventually, I lost confidence in Xoom ability to complete this transfer and cancelled the transaction. I went to Western Union to make the money transfer and that completed immediately. The Western Union fee was higher, but the exchange rate was better than Xoom.

In summary, Xoom did not perform as advertised...

My mother (70 years old) tried to send $25 dollars to her grand child in Colombia as a bday present. She called her grand child and wished her a happy bday and advised her that her present was send via xoom and will be deposited in her mother's bank account. For Dollar to Indian currency, Xoom provides a rate of 60 ps less for a dollar than a Yahoo finance rate. This rate is only true when the rate goes down. If the rate goes up, this difference is more. Xoom does not update its currency conversion rates when the rate goes up, but is quick to update several times a day when the rate goes down....

They offer what appears to be a great service, very reasonably priced money transfers. I lucked out, they closed my acct before they transferred money. I was trying to send funds to a friend in the Philippines for Christmas. They put a stop on my acct because they said the funds were being used for sexual activities or gambling. Customer care people do not even have an idea what they are trying to speak. They are not even caring the people. they easily lose their temper.

Bad bank experience . People don't waste your time by using XOOM Money transfer. They are waste. They are not even helping to the case number / problem occurred.

A Xoom customer access my Xoom account information and took $500.00 without my consent from my Bank of america account. Xoom said it was my fault. I complained to Bank of America, who dropped Xoom immediately. They will not deal with Xoom anymore. DO NOT use XOOM. I've used for 3 years and they have screwed me time and again and without warning or explanation. Holding funds for 10 days after they take from your bank. They just increased their minimum to $50. Recently I did an emergency transfer for my sister in law in the hospital and they held the funds for 7 days and she almost died without the treatment.
When I finally got a hold of someone on the phone they refused to talk saying they can not disclose any information.
DO NOT trust XOOM. They have gotten too greedy and there advertising is false....
