Orkin Erratic and unsafe driver

This morning around 8am an Orkin driver cut me off, then sped up and did multiple illegal lane changes. They were also tailgating other drivers in order to push them aside so he could speed up past the speed limit in dense LA traffic. This happened heading east on 105 fwy in El Segundo, and continued on to 405 fwy south. I have photos to include. Car #23468, license plate #8YNC985. He nearly caused an accident when he squeezed on the should to pass cars too.

Orkin OrkinTherm® insulation

Orkin installed OrkinTherm® insulation in the spring of 2023, Houston home.

Since this installation I have had dry eye, sight cough and real fine dust from the product.

I have called Orkin to complain and no response.

The next steps I will take is for an air quality specialists to come to my home and sample my air environment. If it's found that particles of this insulation is what's causing my health issues, I will contact an attorney and sue. If anyone else has the same issue we can file a class action suit.

Desired outcome: Replace blown in insulation with matted insulation.

Has anyone has OrkinTherm insulation installed in home and have had dry eyes issue. Seems some dust from insulation is also invading my living space.

Orkin Reckless Orkin driver on highway

Good afternoon my name is Ashley Beverly and today I was driving on Highway 635 E. in Mesquite, Texas. I was driving on the 5 lane highway and I was in the furthest lane to the right. During that time a customer service representative and driver from Orkin had a yield sign and was required to yield. I continued forward in the lane that he was merging into at that time, and he did not yield almost sideswiping my vehicle. When he almost sideswiped my vehicle on the right side. I beeped my horn at him, reminding him that I have the right of way, and the driver proceeded to switch lanes again, this time attempting to intentionally swipe me on my left driver side out of rage. He almost caused a wreck. I’m very upset. I did take a picture of the driver, the driver license plate Number SKB7228.

Desired outcome: What I would like to see happen is I would like this driver to be reprimanded for his dangerous driving. This could’ve resulted in a wreck. This happened 30 minutes prior to this submission, at 3:15 PM on my way home.

Orkin Leaf gutter

O 7-20-22, Orkin installed a leaf gutter at my residence. I was promised months ago that someone would be out to remedy the problem. Orkin has been out and agreed there is a problem. There was a problem with the installation. Can you imagine what's going to happen ween snow and ice accumulates on a weak leaf gutter?

Orkin Termite Annual Visit

On 9/14/2023 a serviceman was sent to my home for the annual inspection. I was never notified of this visit for the inside home inspection. The servicemen ONLY completed the outside of my home and left. This is NOT the ONLY incident that I have experienced with ORKIN. I have cancelled my pest control due to inconsistence with scheduling. I did contact the office and request a REFUND and was informed told NO. I have paid for this service in FULL. I am requesting my FULL refund after a year. I am not pleased with this service at all.

Orkin Orkin

I originally talked to guy about taking of my bat problem. And he assured me they could take of that. So I thought wonderful, it was $210 something up front and around $76 a month after that. And that included pest control also, so I signed up. The guy came over and caught a bat in a glue trap and then me that I would have to talk to their bat specialist to get a quote on how much it would cost to bat proof my house because he didn't deal with that. I said I thought that was included and he said no. So anyway, the specialist came over and have me a quote of $3000 and it wasn't guaranteed because I have metal roof. I felt totally misled by the initial guy I talked about what was included. Money hungry, rip off

Desired outcome: Well, they made me pay a final bill of$129, I would like that back, but not really expecting it

Orkin Pest control

Inspector/salesman Clay Ashbrook of Orkin in Monroe Louisiana, came out and stated the mouse infestation was bad and offered a VACUUM service to vacuum out the mice and insulation so there would not be dead mice causing a terrible odor. They would then replace the insulation. No other option or treatment was mentioned. The cost was 15,840.00 minus a military discount of 2,760.00 leaving a balance of 13,080.00! Waiting for an itemized statement. This is misrepresentation/fraud. Do not use this company (Orkin of Monroe, La)

Orkin Annual termite service

I have been an Orkin customer since 2007.

Orkin conducts two termite inspections every year. One for the inside of my home (crawlspace) and one for the outside of my home. Orkin performed an annual termite inspection for inside my home 2-3 months ago. The annual termite inspection outside my home is scheduled for November.

Every year Orkin, mails out a bill several months in advance of what appears to a request for payment of annual termite inspection; yet, Orkin has not completed the work. The act of paying meter postage and send a bill to consumers when Orkin has not completed the work is considered mail fraud and carries a lifetime felony. Does Orkin understand this?

Why am I billed before the work is complete? Does Orkin have an issue with receiving timely payments from their customers once all work is complete?

Desired outcome: Stop billing me in advance when Orkin has not completed the work. I will pay Orkin when both inside and outside termite inspections are complete, to include replacing any bait monitors.

Orkin Vehicle driving complaint.

An Orkin vehicle was driving excessively fast through a 20 mile an hour school zone. This occurred in Hobart, Indiana, on Wisconsin Street at around 245 p.m. Monday afternoon August 21, 2023. It took me a few hundred yards to catch up with the vehicle to snap a picture of the license plate so he can be told the importance of slowing down in school zones. Why you would have to tell anyone they need to slow down in school zones is beyond me. But this individual needs to be told again.

Orkin Crawl space encapsulation

Been waiting three weeks for the electrician to put power to the dehumidifier that was installed under the house. I have contacted the salesperson three times asking for an ETA on when this is going to be completed. So I’m just asking for a timeframe. Will it be tomorrow or s year from now. He always says he has to ask his boss. Here’s a clue his boss ain’t going to do it. So I figure corporate could tell me something. Or do I need to run an extension cord under the house and plug it up. Y’all are real quick to sell me a bunch of stuff, but it’s not finished! I don’t want calls tell me a bunch of crap I want a date!

Orkin Regular service / Mosquito control

I have been a loyal and satisfied Orkin customer since 2019 (account [protected]). I had no complains about your service until my experience the past couple of months.

On 06/28/2023 I had mosquito control and regular service performed on my property. Technician came twice and spent no more than 5 and 10 minutes performing the services. The next 2 days, I still had mosquitos and ants all over the property.

I called the local office and was told by the assistant manager, Rory, that the best he could do was to send somebody to my house on 07/15 and refused to do anything sooner.

When I tried to talk to the manager in my local office, she wasn't available, unfortunately. When I asked for the manager for the regional customer service, I was told they were not available also.

On 07/15 regular service was performed, but mosquitos service was not. Now I am trying to call my local office, regional office and I still can't get to the managers in any office.

The best solution that I was offered so far is to get somebody in my house on 07/25 for mosquitos' service which is not acceptable.

I would like your company to return the money I paid for July mosquito control service since it was not performed. Also, I am not going to wait until 7/25 and if my service will not be done before end of the day tomorrow, I would like to cancel my services with your company and I promise I will share my current experience with your current and future customers on multiple media platforms.

Orkin They do not care about employees

This company does not at all care about their employees.

At any moment's notice you'll be forced to work every weekend if necessary. Regardless if you had plans with your family, your family will take second place with this company.

Horrible company, 60-70 hours a week with very little in return.

Field technicians are work to the bones just so upper management can be comfortable.

Stay away from this horrible company

Orkin Service

I hired orkin Oct. 2022 to treat for roaches in my home. They were supposed to come every other month and spray inside and outide of the home and check the traps.

The guy only came 2 times, I had to remind him to check the traps on the 2nd time and spray the cabinets.

I had initially told them specifically to come on Saturdays as I work during the week.

The monthly payments were being automatically deducted from my Visa and in March-no service. April, no service. I called and called and never received a call back. I finally got a message from a supervisor but, when I called back, was rerouted to his VM, no call back.

I had to change my Visa card in order to discontinue the services as I could not reach anyone!

Today I called and requested a refund for the last month that I did not receive services though I had paid. The lady said "Well, they went and sprayed the outside of your home." WHAT?! They went on a weekday at noon and I was not advised...what the? I did not even know until today that someone came to spray the outside. The contract was for inside/outside and check the traps!

They are absolutely awful! I would never recommend them. They just want your money and they do not provide the services and you can never reach anyone if there's an issue. Deplorable company!

Orkin Orkin pest control

I am writing to complain about my local Orkin company Managers , Jeff Cutshall or Rick Schrieiber. I have called and left several messages for callbacks ( they were never available when I phoned) to find out why my requests were never followed up for the service techs to let me know before they came out for my service. I think it was a simple request to know when they were scheduled to come out. But apparently they didn’t. The operators or receptionist were not allowed to give me direct numbers for managers and leaving messages doesn’t help anything . I have canceled my service and will warn everyone against using this company. Service is not what it should be. The receptionist even gave me the wrong number for calling headquarters in Atlanta, not sure if that was on purpose or not but I was able to find this site online for complainants. There are many more choices for pest control companies, we don’t have to deal with this company anymore.

Desired outcome: My desire, … hit them where it hurts , in their wallets. Maybe they will work on their customer service .

Orkin Bee extraction

Hello, I manage a restaurant called Sammy's Original in Lake Forest. We've had monthly pest prevention services with Orkin for 10 years. They have a customer satisfaction guarantee on their website and when you're on hold on their phone line recording etc. They advertise a free second call if the pest problem doesn't go away and free service from another company if the problem persists still. We had a tech come out April 14 2023 to remove a bee hive from our tall roof peak, she ran into some trouble, told us she would have to rent a different lift and would return the next day. The lift sat in our parking lot for a day and a half, then vanished, no one returned to remove the hive. I got in contact with the job supervisor, he said he would come to reassess the situation. He never showed up. I tried emailing, calling, text message, no response. I called Orkin and spoke to a service manager who said both the tech and job supervisor went on vacation they were back Monday and would call me. No one called. I tried calling the service manager back later that week, the customer phone rep said he was at lunch and would call me back, no one called back. I had a hunch that I was being avoided so I had the owner of my company call the job supervisor who would not answer my calls, he answered. He admitted "dropping the ball on this one." He agreed to coordinate with me via email that day and come back to finish the service either Wednesday or Thursday (we had called that Monday). No email. Thursday morning I message the supervisor, got a response that he was coming early the next day, Friday morning May 19th, over a month since their first attempt. He comes, sends me a video of himself there on the lift. Both the owner of my restaurant and I had asked that he treat a second area of the roof even if there was a cost, the problem had grown since their last service attempt. He refused and said that we would have to have a contractor go up to seal any openings. He explained this to the owner of Sammy's that Monday, that we would have to have someone seal the openings after he treated the area. We agreed to do that after he removed the bees. The next day there was a swarm of bees as big as before. I didn't even call our contractor at that point. I called a different bee extermination company, all they do is bees. They gave me some very helpful info over the phone, Orkin gave us zero. Bees do not "recolonize," they stick to the area they lived and continue trying to rebuild their hives. They said if Orkin treated the area correctly, they would have left a residual treatment on the area to block the bees pheromones. They said it takes a few days for the residual to affect the bees enough for them to leave the area but eventually wears off and they return - day 5 is the day they suggest to their clients to get someone to seal openings. I had my contractor meet me Wednesday the 25th but he unfortunately refused the job and suggested we get someone to treat the bees first. Too dangerous for anyone not accustomed to working around so many bees he said. And who can blame him. I called the Orkin service manager back, told him the bees were still a problem, that this job was handled poorly to start and that I had been ignored many times. He said I was not ignored, that they paid out of pocket for a second lift to be rented and that I was informed that we needed a contractor to seal openings within 24 hours. I could not get him to understand that that was impossible because we still had a bee problem. Also, the supervisor never said 24 hours. But even if he had, the swarm of bees was enormous the next day + the job wasn't scheduled properly enough for us to be able to have coordinated with a contractor. We did not expect this level of poor business practice from such a well known company that we had such a long relationship with. I called to try to get an email for someone higher up in management or customer service at their corporate office. The phone rep offered the same service managers number that I specifically asked to avoid before telling me she could not get anyone else's email and she would have to leave a message for someone who would have to call me back...

Desired outcome: We would request a refund us for this job. We are more than unsatisfied and we would like to seek a different company for this job.

Orkin Crawl space encapsulation

The sales person explained the process. Sold me on the encapsulation service. Lets just say that nothing explained to me is the way it ACTUALLY happened. It is a week later and crawl space is still not finished. I was supposed to get a call back to address some things not up to par. The inspecting manager (can't even remember his name, he was so rude) was full of excuses but not a single apology.

No apology for the young men losing orkin truck keys and causing my son to be 40 minutes late for work, not for leaving a mountain of garbage in the way of my next contractor that they were told was showing up. And not for the stress involved with the fact that their salesman "Dillon" failed to identify the main source of moisture in my crawl space. My dryer vents under the house and not outside. Because this was not found and brought to my attention until they were almost done, I was not given the opportunity to correct that. Manager states finding and addressing that source was not their responsiblilty. Now job is not quite done, and main source of moisture remains a week later. No call back to finish job either.

So for over 10K, it is not done right and orkin manager makes no compensation nor apologies for any of this mess.

Desired outcome: I'd like a call as promised to come complete this job. It would be nice if Orkin would acknowledge their negligence in identifying moisture problem. But I have long since given up any hope of any customer service from their company.

Orkin Termite bond

Buyer BEWARE! I have a client who's had their termite bond with Orkin for almost 30 years. In the process of selling the house, it turns out there is some "old" termite damage and I can't get anyone to respond to me about fixing the $2,500 worth of damage so the he can move forward with the sale of the house. They're saying this damage is pre-existing but can't seem to provide anything showing that to be the case. I don't feel this is ethical business practice for them to NOT cover damage that they are responsible for. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a termite bond.
