As someone who values privacy and accuracy, my experience with Intelius.com has been a mixed bag. While the platform offers a convenient way to search for people and background information, the process can be frustrating. I would give a three star because the results told only first name but not the last name. So. This helps a little. The results did not provide the address. The also provide the location of the phone number. This is how Intelius works for me for finding a phone number. First, type the whole phone number including the areacode. Secondly, pay for fee either with a credit card or debit card. Thirdly, wait until you receive an email from them. They will email you whether not they find it. Fifth, view the results. Good luck. It depends what phone number you are searching. Some numbers are more private than others. Last but not least, do not use Spokeo and peoplesmart=scam.

The service was user friendly but was unable to track number. Ruthie tried on her end and gave me the information I needed. Went ahead and canceled service but you have an amazing employee with Ruthie.

I needed to run just one search, so purchased a one-month membership. There was absolutely no pressure to renew, which is very refreshing. I easily found the information I needed. Excellent product and customer service.

I signed up for a one time lookup and forgot to cancel. When I called to inquire about the charges, the rep was sympathetic and helpful. Got a month refund, yet a continued month to use the service. My rep was enthusiastic and easy to talk to. Wish I caught her name to give her Kudos!

My personal experience with Intelius is completely at variance with all these poor ratings. Intelius is an information search company, and they're the best, period. Perhaps equally important, they have integrity. There was a small automated-payment misunderstanding, and they returned my money with no hassle. I think this kind of honesty is esp. Important in an area like this. Nobody can work miracles, but if the information is there, these people will have it. Five stars, definitely!

I have used the services of Intelius to dig up some data for the sake of promotion of my business and to my surprise, the entire experience went very well. I don't know why people have given negative ratings and reviews to Intelius on petty issues that also happen with other service providers and come under the category of technical issues for which you can't blame a service provider. Of course, I came across some issues as well during the process of getting desired details however, those issues were not worth noticing and the technicians and support staff from Intelius were courteous enough to help me out and resolve my issues. I am definitely going to get the services of Intelius if such requirements for my business rise again because as a business person I know how difficult it is to find a reliable vendor that is capable of providing quality services with a minimum of issues.

Found a lot of inconsistencies when searching myself. Information that this company pulls from needs updating/correcting. Unsure that information on other reports may not be dependable. I will continue to view other searches of people that I know well to see the validity on the information. I will continue my evaluation of this site. There may be better background search available. I called customer service with my concerns and the customer service person was wonderful! Knowledgeable, friendly, patient, understanding of my concerns. A pleasure to work with. She was the reason I will continue my subscription for a month during my evaluation. I gave this three stars because I haven't made a decision at this moment if more or less is warranted.

This is NOT a reputable business--they provide a substandard product/service and then make unauthorized charges on your bank card hoping that you won't notice.

I had to pay separately for every separate piece of information (phone numbers + addresses), and the information provided was OVER FIVE YEARS OLD! I cancelled my membership the same day I signed up, and received an e-mail stating that I would receive "no further charges." However, one week later, a fee for $7.95 popped up on my bank statement and I had to call and fight with them to get it removed.

They're betting that most people either won't notice the extra charge, or won't bother to fight it. Extremely unethical.

MEMBER ID: *** with this company I used their company services back in May have 2022 the charge should have been .99 but instead I was charged over $12 I immediately called and told them I wanted to service canceled since i no longer needed it. I assumed it had been done I guess that was my 1st problem, I called repeatedly asking them to cancel this This account but which they never did. I had originally bulled the charge on a credit card of which I had also given one to my daughter, on that credit card I had auto pay established so I didn't even think twice when my auto payments were coming out on a monthly basis assuming that these were charges my daughter was using the card. this week for some reason I logged in to look at my account and behold Intelius has been billing me all along I have filed a complaint with my credit card company I reported my card lost and stolen becausehat seems to be the only way I can stop them from charging but I would like them to reverse all those charges as you can see and it can be verified I never logged in to a the intelius account since May 2022 or did anything other than that 1st time that I accessed it.

Watch out for Intelius - I used Intelius to get a phone number of a person I needed to call and they offered this search for $0.95 ( half off)... little did i know that I was actually subscribing to their monthly indenity service ( had no idea, it wasn't obvious) probably some of that small print.

Any was I called them and the said that they would stop the subscription, but the $19.95 they took out of my checking account was their's and they were going to keep it. I said that I was willing to pay full price for the phone number I wanted ($1.95) and they could reimburse me $18.00... but they said no too bad you signed up for it so we are keeping the money.
Watch out for Intelius!

Intelius offers removal of personal data from their site but I've contacted them many times to remove my data for safety reasons and it remains online. I've gotten a few boilerplate responses saying they need more info to verify my identity. I provide that and the circle starts over again. Even if a report cannot be purchased, my data must be removed from the sites. (My name, age, locations and relative MAY be listed in Intelius site cache. *** shows me the data is still live on the site.) See URLS listed in attached screenshots. Here they are too.*** Thank you for your help.

The company Intelius and its affiliated/sister companies and parent company People Connect has compiled a dossier containing sensitive information such as my full address, full legal name, their website also states it possesses my telephone number and additional information which I have been unable to verify. The company offers to provide this information to anyone for a fee. In doing so this company is bringing unnecessary attention to me and making information about me that I actively work to keep private, publicly available. This negatively impacts my privacy and general well-being and feeling of safety knowing anyone such a potential 'doxxer (information leaker)', stalker or other 'unfriendly individual' could use to harm *** have made informal attempts to resolve the conflict:1. The company's parent site offers a way to 'manage'/'suppress' one's personal information using their 'suppression tool'. This tool however seems to want the user to establish an account of sorts and to agree to a privacy policy and terms and conditions which contain a arbitration agreement which does have an opt out and a mandatory class action wavier. In a sense this almost feels like extortion by requiring me to surrender my legal rights to protect myself in order to delist information which should be private by default.2. Called the company directly to express my concerns and attempt to resolve the issue, 'customer service' was not helpful and directed me back to the suppression tool saying it was the only option.3. Contacted the company's privacy contact as listed however the email bounced as the recipient server failed to accept my email.Unfortunately due to the unsatisfactory responses I have revived, I have found it necessary to involve the Better Business Bureau in the hopes it can provide assistance before I consider the involvement of additional parties or any other legal means available to me.

I purchased a background report and saw the fine print that in buying it you would be automatically enrolled in their monthly subscription. (Which is possibly the stupidest subscription. Who would need tons of background reports per month? If you're a legitimate company you sure as hell wouldn't be using this inaccurate crap.) I figured, "No matter, I will purchase my report and promptly unsubscribe." So I did just that. I received an email confirming that "no further charges" would be issued. I wish I could post the email to show you how clear this was! NO CHARGES would be made past the specified date, 11/2/2015.

Then same as reported before (wish I saw these before buying!) a nice little amount was taken out of my account on 11/9/2016. Fabulous. So, I gave the lovely company a call.

Not only was the report inaccurate (I know because I ran it on myself) and not only were they dipping into my account when they specifically said they would stop further charges, but the customer service was horrible! She was downright rude!

I went into the call thinking they were still a legitimate company so I explained the scenario thinking that they would apologize and refund me that amount. She asked for my info, and when I took longer than three second to find the card I used she blurted out "If you can't find it, you can just call us back when you do". Um, lady, it's in my hand. I walked eight feet to retrieve it, calm down. Of course you will have rude service when you get rude customers calling you and why would only rude customers call a company? Because the company is wronging it's customers. So she created a rude customer out of me. After she explained that there is a charge if you cancel too early (and if you cancel too late you pay the next months subscription fee remember) I realized it was quite a nice little scam they have going. I will cancel my card if they continue to charge it.

In short. Stay away! DO NOT purchase anything from them and I hope to see the company disappear soon.

I did not sign up for Intelius' services yet I was charged $34.95. When I contacted them they said that they didn't have my credit card on file, even though they charged by for a subscription. The date of the incident was September 11, 2023.

I tried to get them to reverse the charges and they said my email or credit card was not on file. If my email was not on file then they couldn't have charged me for a subscription. This is the same for my credit card, if it's not on file how did they charge. There are numerous complaints related to Intelius' practices and therefore they to seem have a pattern of fraudulent behaviour.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against the website "Intelius" for their unethical business practices, which have resulted in unauthorized charges and an undesired subscription on my account.

On the 28th of May, I visited the Intelius website to check a scammer's phone number, with the understanding that a mere $0.95 fee would be deducted for this specific service. However, to my dismay, I later discovered that Intelius had stealthily enrolled me in a monthly subscription plan, charging $34.95 without my knowledge or consent.

Not only was I never provided with the details of the number I inquired about, but I also found myself charged for three consecutive months - June, July, and August - amounting to a total of $105. As a student on a tight budget, these charges have created a severe financial burden, and I cannot overlook this deceptive and exploitative behavior.

Upon scrutinizing my PayPal history, I realized that Intelius was solely responsible for these recurring charges. I can categorically state that I have not utilized any services from their platform during this period, making these charges completely unjustified and unacceptable.

I hereby demand an immediate refund of the entire amount unlawfully deducted from my account, totaling $105. Intelius took advantage of my trust in their services, and their actions have left me feeling deeply deceived and taken advantage of.

This complaint serves as a warning to other potential victims and as a request for action against Intelius' unethical practices. I have lost my faith in their website and services and believe it is crucial for this matter to be addressed promptly and transparently.

I intend to escalate this complaint to relevant consumer protection agencies if the issue remains unresolved. I implore the Complaint Board to investigate this matter with urgency and take appropriate actions to ensure justice is served.

I Parwaiz Malik never opted to have a membership with Intelius. I just surfing a few months earlier to know how to find some friends.

When for one time charge credit card info was asked for that purpose, I entered my card details but now I notice that Intelius is continuingly charging my credit card. It is cheating I strongly condemn it and want my back and remove my name from your charging list.

I never obtained info of any friend at all therefore you have no right to charge and single cent from me.

Intelius has charged me a total of $154.12 on 2 different credit cards. I had signed up for the trial period i think was 99 cents and i cancelled it way before the time to cancel was. And I have since used it with the 9 cents trial and too have cancelled each of those. There's actually a pending charge of $37.05 that's pending to come out today and this again is going to go over my credit limit and im going to get a bunch of fees for someone charging my credit cards (2 diff ones); all together right now as of this moment; theres been 154.12 debited from my credit card fraudulently bc i did not authorize these charges on neither card i just had the 99 cent trial which each time ive had it ive cancelled way before the time was even up.

I made a background check on a phone number stored on my phone to see if the person was real, the check costed $0.95 but a month later they charged me $35.95. I don't know why this happened but they put me in some subscription thing that they didn't tell me about. I'm now trying to get a refund from them and them haven't answered me. Go to hell Intelius!

Please cancel this subscription immediately. Also please provide one payment refund.

I was buying a search lookup for one person I don’t remember the exact amount it was under 5$. Im not a well organized person and I hardly check my bank summary, 3 months later I decided to check on my summary I end up getting charged for 34$ 3 months straight. I never consented to a subscription this makes me upset and I want a refund or compensation.

I was looking up one number from them and I paid the $0.95 and a $4.99 charge and 4 days later they billed me for a membership for $ 34.95, I did not sign up for this membership and I have repeatedly sent them emails and have gotten no response from them, I cancelled the membership and they said that I had a month more to use their service, which I don't intend to use again, so apparently their not going to refund my money, so if you're thinking about using them, I would reconsider using their service..TT

I payed for the 95 cent deal to look up something and now they have been charging me 25 dollars for 2 months. When I tried to log into my account to try and cancel my membership, it asks me to verify my email, which I did, but it will not let me go past that page. Do not give this website your card. They will charge you for things you don’t sign up for.

We are being charged $32.29 per month and do not receive anything for this. (Most recent charge was on 1/9/2023 for $32.29)

I keep being charged for a subscription or product that I haven't ordered or brought. I'm not sure what this even is and ive tried canceling this several times and removing it. But it keeps charging my cashapp card. When I try to reply to an email to ask them to cancel it tells me to verify my email and when I try and click on the verify email block it tells me failed to fetch and I can't do anything further. I'd like a refund of everytime my money has been taken because I did not order any of these at any time EVER! I'd like the total amount each time I've been charged back.

I logged into intelius, trying to find the owner of a phone number. I entered my request and was told there would be a $0.95 fee for that. after that I was told there would be an additional charge of $3.95, which I declined and left the site. A couple of days later I found that they had charged $34.95 USD ($49.95 CAD) on my credit card. I complained, The sent me a bunch of FAQ. tThey gor $50.00 CAD I got nothing.
