Not just for old games
Great site to look for old games fixed up to run on more modern machines, but it also sells newer games as well, sometimes even with discounts. Special promotions are also pretty common. The games I buy always work well, the installer is simple and easy to use and there is no annoying DRM.
I agree entirely with Chris O
I agree entirely with Chris O. Review of GOG. Cheap, reliable, DRM free and a really great community and customer support to boot. I highly recommend them.
One word of caution, the reviews on the site often tend to rate games much more highly than they deserve, so take that with a grain of salt.
Cheap Old Games
Best place if you're a fan of "classic" games - I used to download them illegaly from torrents and risk getting viruses only because there was no other reliable source for getting those games... with GOG its as simple as few clicks - and there are hardly every any hardware issues (important for games which are 15+ years old)
I agree with Chris O
I agree with Chris O. Ive bought Ultima 4, 5, 6, 7, Carmageddon, Master of orion 1,2 wing commander 4, privateer, and some others. All works like they should. Had to download glide drivers for carmageddon on different web site for the 3dfx fix. Other than that perfection! They give you a handful of free games for signing up at no cost. (this way you can see for yourself how well it works at no cost.)
Incredible service
With the very disappointing launch of One Mans Lie (No mans sky) I had pre-ordered through GOG and simply after explaining to customer support that the game sucked they refunded me. It took about 15mins from when I first emailed them before they replied offering me a bank transfer or store credit. I replied and seconds later the confirmed the transfer. Very friendly, no questions asked. Definitely would recommend
Great
Great site buy a game and get all versions they have for every OS not just one. Dont have to be locked into a front end ui like steam to play your games but if that is your thing they also have their own front end.The frontend required for auto updating otherwise if you look in your library they tell you if there is a new updated version of a game for you to download for your master back up. Otherwise any time you download the games image it is the most up to date version at that time. Download and copy your games installer to any format you wish. Cd, DvD, Flash etc etc.No drm slowing your or locking you out of your game etc.
Been wanting to buy something off GOG for a few years
Been wanting to buy something off GOG for a few years and finally a Dungeon Keeper 2 promo came along where it was like $2.50. I couldn't pass it up. Well not only did the site actually do what it was supposed to, but the game was fully patched AND actually plays properly! And on top of that I got Witcher for free which I wasn't expecting and didn't even know about that promo. Maybe my expectations are really low and I'm used to things never, ever working, but GOG did come through seamlessly.
So... obviously you need Steam due to some games ONLY being on Steam (and some content being workshop-only also, and multi-player 1st or 3rd party...), but whenever possible get your stuff DRM-free from GOG.

GOG COM Review: Cool Platform, But Watch Out for Refund Policy
So, I was checking out GOG COM (gog.com) and I gotta say, it's pretty cool. But there's one thing you gotta watch out for. If you ask for a refund, they don't give you your money back the way you paid. Instead, they put it in your "wallet" on their website. Now, that's all good if you plan on using their services again and wanna spend that money on something else on their website. But if you don't wanna use their services anymore and just want your money back, they won't do it. They'll just tell you that once it's in your "wallet," that's it. No more refunds for you! So, just be careful and don't get ripped off, ya know?
Disappointing Experience with GOG COM: Game Won't Launch
So, I decided to give GOG COM a try since they were having a sale and I heard some good things about their website. I purchased a game and downloaded it, but when I tried to launch it, nothing happened. I thought it might be just a minor error, so I tried launching it through the shortcut, but still no luck. The next day, I reinstalled the game and tried to launch it again, but still nothing. I even tried to do a verify game files/repair, but that didn't help either. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to playing the game.
Overall, my experience with GOG COM was not great. I would advise others to stay away from this website at all costs. It's frustrating to spend money on a game that doesn't even work. I hope they can improve their services in the future, but for now, I'll be looking for other websites to purchase my games from.
Disappointing Experience with GOG COM: Lack of Transparency and Poor Customer Service
I recently made a purchase on GOG COM and unfortunately, the game I bought was missing some features that were available on the same game offered directly by the producer. I was disappointed as the description did not mention that it was not a fully-featured version. So, I decided to apply for a refund.
However, the process was not as smooth as I expected. I had to wait for 10 days to receive a response from the customer service team, and during that time, I sent them around 10 emails to follow up on my request. When I finally received a response, it was not what I was hoping for. The customer service representative seemed to blame me for the issue and asked why I bought the game if I knew I wouldn't like it. They did eventually offer me a refund, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on GOG COM. The lack of transparency in the product description and the poor customer service made me feel like I was not valued as a customer. I don't think I will be using this platform again in the future, as I don't want to go through the hassle of dealing with their customer service team again.

Mixed Experience with GOG COM: Payment Issues and Sketchy Reviews
I gotta say, if you ever run into a problem with GOG COM, don't expect much help. I had a bit of trouble with their payment options, which were a bit weird if you ask me. I had more than enough money on my card, which allowed international purchases, but for some reason, they wouldn't accept my payment. So, I switched to my PayPal account to buy the game I wanted, but then they told me that my payment wasn't accepted, even though I got charged for it. It was a real hassle to get my money back, and in the end, I didn't even get the game I wanted.
Overall, I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with GOG COM. They seem like a bit of a mess, to be honest. But, if you manage to get your games from them, I guess it's not too bad. Personally, I'd recommend going with Steam if you have the option.
One thing I did notice is that a lot of the reviews on their site seem to be copy/pasted. It's pretty obvious that the company is behind it, which is a bit sketchy if you ask me. But, hey, what can you do?
All in all, I'd say that GOG COM is a bit hit or miss. If you're lucky, you'll get what you want without any trouble. But, if you run into any issues, don't expect much help from their customer service.
GOG COM Review: Poor Customer Service and Frustrating Experience
So, I heard about this website called GOG COM and decided to check it out. They got some pretty cool games on there, but I had some trouble getting it to work on my computer. Life got in the way, and I didn't get around to contacting them until about a month later. I told them about my issue, but they wouldn't give me my money back. I got an email from someone named Lisa in customer service, and it was pretty short and not very nice. She basically said she couldn't help me.
I was pretty upset about the whole thing and told them that their customer service was terrible. After some back and forth, they finally offered me a credit. But at that point, I was so fed up that I told them to shove it. I don't want to support a company that treats its customers like crap, and neither should you.
If you're looking for some games, I suggest you look elsewhere. GOG COM might have some good stuff, but it's not worth the hassle if something goes wrong. Save yourself the headache and find a company that actually cares about its customers.
Beware of this Video-Game Download Company Based in Cyprus: Refund Denied Despite Broken Link
This here video-game download company, based out in Cyprus (that's a country, by the way), they went and assumed that I downloaded the game even after I told them that the link was broken and their website was giving me mixed messages. And what do they do? They deny me a refund! Can you believe it? They expect me to just take their word for it that I downloaded their digital content, when we've had the technology to track bandwidth since '97! Come on now, don't give these pirates any of your hard-earned American dollars. They'll just copy and paste some legal mumbo-jumbo to justify keeping your money. And they don't even have to follow U.S. laws! So be warned, folks!
GOG COM Review: False Advertising and Refund Policy Scam
I was pretty bummed out when I stumbled upon GOG COM (gog.com) and saw all the positive reviews it had received. I decided to give it a try and purchased a game that was advertised as being available for multiple platforms. I started downloading the game, but then realized that it was only compatible with Windows. I immediately cancelled the download and requested a refund.
GOG COM claims to offer a "30-Day Money Back" guarantee, but when I contacted their customer service team, they only offered me store credit instead of a refund. They claimed that the game had already been downloaded, which was a complete lie. I was extremely disappointed that they not only lied about the platform of the game, but also about their refund policy.
I refused to accept their store credit as I had no intention of using their website again. It was pretty obvious that this website was a scam, and my experience only confirmed my suspicions. I would advise others to steer clear of GOG COM and find a more trustworthy website to purchase their games from.
Disappointing Experience with GoG: No Refund Policy and False Money-Back Guarantee
try, GoG, but I don't want to buy anything from you anymore. It's not like I'm going to spend more money on games that I can't even play.
First of all, let me tell you about my experience with GoG.com. I was excited to purchase some games from them because I heard they had a good reputation for providing classic games that are hard to find elsewhere. So, I decided to give them a try and bought three games.
However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I realized that one of the games I purchased had higher specs required than my computer could handle. I tried to play it on low settings, but it never worked. After an hour of trying to make it work, I decided to uninstall the game and contact GoG support for a refund.
But, to my surprise, I was told that I couldn't get a refund because I had already downloaded the game. I mean, how else was I supposed to test the game if not by downloading it? And to make matters worse, their 30-day money-back guarantee turned out to be a lie.
I even sent them my computer specs, and it was clear that the graphic hardware was the issue. But all I got was a refund in my GoG wallet, which I was forced to accept. I mean, seriously, what am I supposed to do with that?
It's clear that GoG doesn't care about their customers. All they want is your money, and once they have it, they don't care if you can play the game or not. I will never purchase anything from them again, and I suggest you do the same. Save your money and buy games from a company that actually cares about their customers.
Unimpressed with GOG COM: Propaganda, Limited Returns, and Game Tweaking Required
Yo, I gotta say, GOG COM ain't all it's cracked up to be. Sure, they got some sweet games for sale, but most of 'em require a ton of mods and tweaking just to get 'em to work. And don't even get me started on their return policy - you only got two hours to decide if you wanna keep the game or not. That's barely enough time to get past the tutorial!
But what really grinds my gears is all the propaganda they're spewing. The staff is always going on about "women in gaming" and "minority representation" and all that jazz. Like, I get it, diversity is important and all, but do we really need to hear about it every other day? And if you dare to criticize their agenda, they'll come down on you like a ton of bricks. I've seen people get threatened with permabans just for speaking their mind.
Honestly, I'd say steer clear of this "progressive" cesspool. Who wants to support a site that wants you dead just for having a different opinion? Not me, that's for sure.
Disappointing Customer Service and Biased Moderation: My Experience with GoG
It's been a whole month since I reached out to GoG for technical help with a product I bought from them, and I still haven't heard back. Can you believe it? Most companies respond within days, but not GoG. This is just ridiculous.
And don't even get me started on their forums. The moderation is just terrible and biased. GoG doesn't even follow their own rules when it comes to political threads about the Ukraine war. They ban all Russian customers, even though they have no control over it. It's just not fair.
But what really grinds my gears is how they promote all these woke agendas and post political threads supporting LGBTQ and women's issues. I mean, I'm all for equality and everything, but they ban anyone who challenges these equity concepts in favor of equality for all persons regardless of subgroup affiliation. It's just not right.
Honestly, I hope someone else buys GoG soon. Maybe then they'll start treating their customers with some respect and actually provide decent customer service. I mean, with CD Projekt SA's stock price spiraling downward, it's not looking good for them. But hey, maybe a change in ownership is just what they need.
Cyberpunk 2077
I have been dealing with email tech support about the issue of the game crashing every time it autosaves all ive gotten is turn it down to 60hz that will fix the issue so i do just to appease them and sent a reply that it didnt work 2 days later ive not heard aa reply and try again file a new report same thing one answer then i reply and receive nothing this has been going on for weeks on end with 0 support ive turned down settings, reinstalled, ran the fix tool and reformated nothing works
Desired outcome: Fix my game

Refuse to refund
So I've been trying to refund one of my GoG games since December 25th and is still within 30 days of refund time. But costumer support refuses to refund my money back. I've complained to them the game keeps crashing (Kingdoms of Amular Rereckoning) every time I die or try to load a save. They said I've played too many hours in the game and refuses to give me my refund. I'm not even halfway through the game! I've read the refund policy terms and service. It says nothing about how many hours you can put in before the refund is refused. I ask them to link me the "new" return policy they said they had, but they refuse to do so. I've tried everything to fix the issue, but nothing worked. At this point I just want my money back and the game removed from my library.
Desired outcome: Please refund
Terrible service
It takes an average of one month before GoG responds to technical help requests with a product they sell. This is outrageous. Most companies respond within days.
The moderation on their forums is so awful and biased. GoG themselves don't follow their own rules when posting political threads regarding their response to the Ukraine war, banning all Russian customers who have no control over it.
They promote woke agendas and post political threads supporting LGBTQ and women's issues yet banning individuals who challenge equity concepts in favor of equality for all persons regardless of subgroup affiliation.
Desired outcome: I hope someone else buys GoG because of GoG's parent company, CD Projekt SA, stock's downward spiraling price. Maybe then service and respect will be returned to customer service.
Spellforce Platinum Edition (Pheonix)
Have purchased the game from Gog, once installed, it is seeking a serial number before continuing. Therefore cannot play the game, can someone assist me plz?
Thank you
Ron Brown
PS. I have no details about my purchase I am sure you will have those details on your database with my other 200 odd Gog Games
You keep saying you don't have enough information. For goodness sake, the image I sent shows the problem. I require a serial number before I can play the game I purchased. How simple is the request given what I have explained to you. I don't know what more info you want.
Desired outcome: I just wish to play the game and would appreciate if someone can help me get past the serial number part in order to play it please. Cannot send dxdig text file as it is not an accepted image file.Ron

Poor games / gog galaxy tool crashing / gog services useless
Dear GoG,
In recent years, I have found your service and games wonderful and enjoyable; however, recently everything went to the pits.
I am afraid games I buy are crashing, GoG Galaxy is useless in installing them, and games die half way during game time.
I find myself ending my games via YouTube which begs the question, why am I even buying the games.
Thus, I have decided once I finish playing the games I spent my hard earned cash with your site, I am quitting GoG and travelling to a much more secure and reliable source that has a wonderful customer service and none sloppy games.
Mainly Steam.
For the time I have spent with your service, I thank you, but I fear that if you don't get your act together, there will be fewer and fewer customers you will have in the near future. There are plenty of alternatives out there, and much more stronger competition. Think about that if you wish your company to be successful.
Sincerely yours,
A dissatisfied customer.

Unplayable Game
A game I purchased a few months back will no longer launch, despite the fact that the .exe is 'running' in task manager. The game previously ran without incident, for 25 hours over the course of a month or so--it has not been updated, nor does it require an update. This issue does not affect/crop-up with the dozen or so other games I have in my library, and despite re-installing/patching files/etc, the problem persists. The only point of contact provided by GOG is an automated chat window that was absolutely useless and provided no helpful/satisfactory solutions. I recall, some years ago, speaking with an incredibly helpful GOG employee who resolved an issue I was having, and that experience, among other considerations, is what motivated me to take my business away from STEAM and give it to GOG. Knowing that my games now run the risk of suddenly not launching, for no apparent reason, and that there is no extant recourse for resolving the issue, I'll take my business elsewhere. Suffice it to say, I'm terribly disappointed in the direction your customer service has gone, GOG.
Desired outcome: I'd like a refund for the now non-working title
Refunds and communication
On December 17th 2020 I submitted a refund request to GOG.COM through their Refund/Contact Us Online Form for my purchase of Cyberpunk 2077 which on my PC has been a dismal experience due to the vast amount of game-breaking bugs.
Apart from automatic responses I have been submitting numerous follow-up emails begging for an update to my refund request to which I have literally received no responses to.
- December 17 responding to an automatic email acknowledging a refund to GOG Wallet Funds (as apparently it is the quickest type of refund according to them)
- December 19, update request sent, no response
- December 21, update request sent, no response
- January 5th, update request sent, no response
- January 8th, update request sent, no response
I was planning on using the GOG Wallet funds to purchase some other titles that were part of their Winter Special but they have taken so long that the month long special is actually over so by the time I get my refund (if I get it) i'll have to wait for the next round of specials to come along...
I'm very unhappy as I have never experienced the lengthily time for a refund through other platforms such as Steam, GooglePlay, Epic Games to name a few.
Also the total lack of communication is disturbing to the degree that I am wondering if they are simply ignoring me...
My ticket number (which GOG conveniently blank out in white text in an email) is [220X62-OYQE]
Desired outcome: A refund for my purchase to be converted to GoG Wallet Funds ASAP

witcher 3 goty
I bought this game, installed it two years ago without any problems and played it often. It updated to the new version to allow for cloud based saves. My PC died and I try to reinstall it onto a new PC and now it wont update without a gamecode. When i purchased this game, it came with some decals but It did not come with a game code. It never needed one! I had this game working correctly on another PC without any hassle at all, but now I cannot update my game without this game code for the new install off the same DVD's
I researched online and even spoke to the store that I made my purchase from and the game was never shipped with a game code, everything was contained on the DVD's, including access to GoG Galaxy.
I have spent a lot of time contacting GoG support, but GoG support just keep refusing to support because they say I dont have a game code.
I wouldnt care so much, but I have saved games that I cannot access because the new install is a different version than the version that created the save game files.
I just want to play the game again, resuming back where I left the game before my PC died.

2 step authentication is broken for almost 10 years
what its wrong with your company ? you decide to run a broken app that blocks people from their account and dont have a single support channel as chat to deal with it ? I`VE belive you were in the business of "selling"games, you more like a second hand company full of bad practices, and you give 0 importance if people will be little mad or not, for been Departed from their money in the most thugish way possible !
SHAME !
No email with no CODE will ever get to me, even thou their "DIRTY" promos get to the same mail every with no fail ! i want my money back ! ALL OF IT ! which is not much, but it doesnt matter, you should steal from people !
Angry customer
I have purchased a game from GOG website which was not working. And no matter how hard I've tried I was not able to run that game. Before I bought the game I checked their policies and it was said there that GOG has a 30 day money back guarantee. So I contacted these guys and said that since the game was not working I want to get my money back. They offered me a store credit and said that was the only thing they could do for me.
I asked about their so called "money back guarantee" and they said that they have no idea where I found such an information! You clowns, I found it on your site!
I'm extremely angry!
