eHarmony - Billing does not stop

When I took a subscription with eHarmony it was for a 3 month period. The matches weren't particularly great, which isn't their fault, so after a few weeks I contacted them to ask how I cancel the subscription. I was advised that the subscription can't be cancelled until the remaining two payment have been debited. Then months later I received another email to let me know another term of three months had commenced. I have contacted them again to ask for the auto renew to be cancelled and I have received the same response, to pay the next term of three months. This site is a scam!...

eHarmony - Scam scam!

This site is nothing more than a scam! DO NOT sign up for this thing. I signed up and the next day realized that I didn't like it so I went to go cancel my subscription. I drove myself nuts trying to find it and when I didn't I called and asked to cancel. The lady had the nerve to tell me I couldn't cancel because I was past the 3 day grace period which was BS because I had only signed up the day before I called them. They keep charging me 29 a month and said I can't cancel until July. I do not want this service anymore and never find any guys that are worth my time. They match...

eHarmony - Not accurate matching!

Posted: 2015-03-24 by    THJoseph
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
This site DOES NOT provide accurate matching. They simply send you less than a dozen "Matches" a day to go through. They are completely random and DO NOT match up to your profile settings. I am a 47 thin white male, 6'2, athletic, christian, etc... I am constantly being matched up with women in their 20's or even 50's which outside of my dating range. Constantly being matched up with very overweight black women. O being matched with people who live across the country. And those are just a few of the issues. I have never written a complaint before online about anything. This...

eHarmony - scam dishonest greedy organization

Posted: 2015-03-13 by    Steve E W
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
eharmony is a dishonest, scam, organization that cares about one thin, their profits. Let me give you several examples.

1. Legitimate organizations with integrity provide an unsubscribe at the bottom of their unwanted dishonest "interest" emails but not eharmony. They make you login as if you signed up again and then of course you can't sign in because you did not sign up and create a password to begin with.

2. I provided a detailed description of women that I would be attracted to, eharmony completely ignored my description and sent me numerous people...

eHarmony - No response to complaint

Posted: 2014-12-01 by    Kathryn Haering
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
I have paid a subscription to eHarmony and they are displaying incorrect information about me, which I did not provide to them and they have not changed this even after a number of complaints sent to them. The main issue is that I provided my date of birth as 29 June 1978, yet they are showing me as 40 years old, which will reduce the amount of men of my own age who will want to contact me as most men prefer younger women to older.

They are also sending me matches that are completely different to those I have selected. This is a waste of my money and they are misrepresenting themselves...

eHarmony - lack of customer service

I was suppose to get a discount on my subscription, when I called the same week they told me that I was outside the window of time.i called and they wouldn't work with me at all. I will never use this service again and I will tell all my friends not to either. There are so many better options that are less than half that price or less. Extremely not happy, I never send a complaint in. There lack of working with me has caused this complaint....

eHarmony - breach of contract

After three months they have sent me the exact same matches all over again! The matches are on a loop! After you reject three months worth of matches they just start sending them to you all over again! NOT new matches, the exact same matches. I know for a fact because some of them were still in my "communicating" folder because I was waiting to hear a response back. How can they claim they've sent me a "new" match in my "new" matches page, when those exact profiles are in my waiting folder to hear back from? I also went and looked and all the new matches that weren't...

eHarmony - identity theft

I
began receiving notices at work from eharmony saying men were interested in
dating me. I am a heterosexual man and have never registered with
eharmony. I contacted eharmony immediately about the fraud.
eharmony refuses to tell me anything about the fraudulent registration.
Eharmony also refuses to disclose what was posted or shared about me through
their services. I and my girlfriend are now receiving telephone calls in the
middle of the night from strangers. Eharmony is protecting the person who
committed this theft of my identity....

eHarmony - Automatic Subscription Renewal

I have been charged an automatic subscription renewal fee by eHarmony.
I feel that although this is stated in the company terms and conditions, that this process is not clear to the time of initial subscription.
Insufficient and unclear consumer information is provided at the time of agreement to te terms and conditions.
At the companies privacy policy states that they will not process a translation unless it has been authorised.
At no stage did I receive any notification or authorisation request for my bank account To be charged on a specific date, amount, or time which...

eHarmony - incompetent online dating service

This service is a complete waste of time and money. I met no one and "matches" were several hundred miles away. When I complained to the company they said I had to broaden my age requirement which was within 6 years of my own. Even the matches hundreds of miles away were of no interest. I was naive in signing up for a year, since it was the best value supposedly. Cost too much and no results bottom line. There are free sites that are much better....

eHarmony - Fraudulent claims and false advertising

eHarmony's advertising promises to match people with their "perfect match." This is a lie. I've been a member on and off for about 3 years and have NEVER been matched with anyone even remotely close to my interests. After finally ending my membership and choosing that I no longer wish to receive matches, they send messages stating that someone wants to communicate with me. When I log back in, I find that the member's profile is no longer active.

eHarmony uses unethical marketing and business practices. Customer service is pretty much non-existent,...

EHarmony sends matches that are not active/members of the site. eHarmony - Ontario, Toronto - steal your money and don't provide promised service

Posted: 2014-01-25 by    Anna Bella
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
I purchased a 3-month subscription and clearly selected the NOT TO RENEW automatically option. Well, they ignored that and kept charging my credit card, which I didn’t discover until 2 months later. They offered to credit me one month’s charge, but if I wanted both I would have to formally write in, which I did. Also, I hardly got any matches sent to me. The couple of messages I did receive, when I tried to reply, they were suddenly gone, so they must have been phony. My emails and phone calls to them over some months were either ignored or dismissed, none of my concerns about their...

eHarmony - Won't let me cancel.

I called to cancel and was told I had to email my problem and I would get a response in 7 days. I got a denial which was so mean I was amazed. It said I could not argue with them because the denial was final and I could do NOTHING. I wasn't asking for a refund, I was asking to cancel future subscription funds of $80.00. I am 70 years old, made a mistake and said I was very unhappy. They don't care, they only want the money. It's obnoxious....

Do not want service. Was unaware I was on a renewal program as they kept advertising to extend my already unwanted and unused service - $9.90 for an extra month - which I did not take up. Even though I did not take this up I was slugged $119 for 3 months through the auto renewal process. MAKE SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS and turn it off if you don't want it. I tried to contact eHarmony BEFORE the paypal transaction went through. Unfortunately it was a Sunday and they will not take calls on a Sunday. They are more than happy to take your money on a Sunday though. When I finally spoke to someone...

eHarmony - Tennessee, Knoxville - completely dissatisfied

Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
I have been on the site for a month. I am an attractive female, and only chose to try online dating because a friend (who had never used it) recommended it. My job has me mostly working alone, so it is sometimes difficult to meet men. Anyway, apparently according to the test, my compatible matches are never going to be attractive to me. An entire month went by and not one guy was even remotely attractive to me. I know that sounds ridiculous, and maybe it is, maybe it just means online dating is not for me. Maybe I have trouble having attraction to a picture and a profile. Either way I am not satisfied,...

eHarmony - eHarmony is a fraudulent scam.

Please warn all your friends NEVER to join eHarmony. If I could give them zero stars I would.

It is a dishonest company that cons their clientele into committing for three months to a year. Then after 2 weeks of sending people who live nearby, a vast majority of which are clearly not a match to you in any way, they begin to send only EMPTY profiles of people who live a 1000 miles away or absolute NON-matches. They give no way for the member to search their site, they choose your seven matches a day and only do so if you allow eHarmony to email you. These matches begin to repeat within...

eHarmony - Incorrectly took payment 3 days before subscription expired

I signed up with eHarmony for 6 months. When signed up, chose NOT toautomatically renew.

Account due to expire 14th July but when I went on 11th July, realised they'd already taken further 6 month payment.

I contacted them and the just told me to read their terms and conditions. This states that they can renew up to 24 hours before due to expire - but this doesn't excuse taking payment £107 3 days before due.

They have since just ignored my e-mails. It seems very clear to me taht they have made a mistake - so why are they not refunding...

eHarmony - Western Australia - Geographically Challenged Searches

After being a member of eHarmony for over a year I did not make one single date!
The reason is simple & profoundly annoying:
As part of the search function, you can choose how far you wish to travel to meet with a potential date.
The settings are fixed in a selection box at 25km, 50km, 150km & 300km.

THEY DO NOT WORK!

I have consistently received 'matches' from over 400km away after selecting 25km or 50km.
I HAVE NOT received one single 'match' from less than 120km away.
One 'match' was over 600km away!

eHarmony - California, Santa Monica - AutoRenew

Posted: 2013-02-27 by    sstears
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 2 votes
Eharmony is a total rip off, they tell you they auto renew for the same amount of time you initially signed up for on the site. They tell you there is no way to turn off the auto renew, that you have to call and cancel. They only tell you you can turn off the auto renew until AFTER they auto renew your membership for another 6 months. We need a lawsuit against this. It's totally unfair that even after you call to cancel they will not refund you the amount of time you have let on the membership. How do they stay in business, they are criminals....
