Actually I have been an employee at Braums in Springfield, Missouri. I have worked the food industry off & on for nearly 50 years. This particular establishment has more power tripping people from management to those with different titles, who oversee shall we say, the employees. One female coworker goes so far above and beyond the call of duty as to scour toxic black mold from garbage cans, sterilize the mats under the produce and meats and so on. I became personally very ill while having to work my schedule from the black toxic mold problem. The area outside in back of store is so completely filthy it is black and slippery from build up upon build up of acquired grease. End of summer with it's extreme heat factor and acquired filth brought a literal horde of bees. We still had to go out in that area to wheel trash cans in & out as needed. The fly problem in the restaurant was sickening. Flies were mating in there at the table areas where customers dined. My coworker had a great idea that I presented to our manager who quickly rejected the idea. Actually it I presented it to the night shift lead. To place the fly strips along the windowsills at closing to be removed upon opening each morning until fly problem was rectified. It never happened. Employees are ever so rudely yelled at in front of customers, belittled & shamed. The water container that holds the ice cream scoops over flows & floods entire counter area where shakes and malts are made. The older woman manager working days jokes daily of how to get away with murder. Her and others wearing supervisory titles gossip incessantly, mock and swear. It is abhorrent. I am not done making reports on this establishments. The managers manager I have spoken with regarding an older man under their employ who has a chronic alcohol problem which is known to management. He drinks in his car on his breaks. Like I said, I am far from done here. I am reporting to the health department and human resources. Thank you.
