I was promised scheduled interviews with top banks, but it turned out to be false. They cancelled or postponed the meeting last minute many times. I found myself preparing for interviews that never materialized, only to be left feeling disappointed. When I tried to confront them about it over the phone, they became rude, and even threatened to blacklist me. I felt like a complete fool for wasting my time, and my hard earned money.

Apart from me, none of my batchmates landed a job in any bank either. Bankedge is nothing but a fraud. They conduct classes, give lectures, and get you excited about your future prospects, only to let you down. If I had known earlier, I would have tried to get a banking job through references.

Even though I was the brightest in the batch, I still could not find a job. This is because they do not really have any clients in the banking industry. All they have to offer is call centre jobs.

In my case, I deposited Rs. 25,400/- and interest at 6.25% p.A. to Bankedge, an education service provider that markets itself as Bankedge (Sakinaka Mumbai Branch). They offered various courses in banking and approached me for a job opportunity with HDFC Bank.

Despite the fact that I had a conditional job offer from HDFC Bank, I had to complete a 45-day course offered by Bankedge to formally secure the job. They assured me without hesitation that they would launch the latest batch of the course, which I would attend, no later than the first week of December 2019. They also expected me to deposit Rs. 70,800/- for the course as a prerequisite to attending. Being a fresher with little personal savings, I convinced myself that the investment was worthwhile because it would make my future brighter.

However, to my great dismay, things began to go wrong as soon as I deposited my money. Bankedge ignored my emails and messages completely, causing me immense mental trauma for over 1.5 months. I wasted a vast amount of personal time following up with them, trying my best to start the course, but they were not responsive. To make matters worse, they only marketed themselves as Bankedge (Sakinaka Mumbai Branch) when they were officially registered under "Teach Smart Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd.", an education service provider with franchises.

To complete the 45-day course, I had let go of even better job offers, putting all of my hopes in Bankedge's promise of employment at HDFC Bank. Despite my repeated communications with Bankedge, they never prioritized my career's future, ultimately putting me in a debilitating situation where I was only old news, as new results were released in mid-January 2020. Thus, I had to put an abrupt end to my journey as a Chartered Accountant and sit back at home because I was no longer considered new to the market.

In the disastrous situation I found myself in, my only recourse was to try to get justice. So far, my legal action against Bankedge has been fruitless. I even discussed the matter with their director, who refused to address my concerns and resolve the issue. I had already warned them about legal consequences, but they chose not to heed my warning. Despite my frustration, I started sharing my incident and writing blogs in various forums, which culminated in my decision to send them a Legal Notice by 29th Feb. 2020. If necessary, I would pursue a legal case in the consumer forum.

In conclusion, I learned some valuable lessons from my experience with Bankedge. I would have done well to ask them to communicate only in written mode, such as email, letters, text, etc. Furthermore, standing up for oneself and taking a stand for justice is critical because no one can help unless the victim takes the first step.
