My move was on August 26th in Raleigh, NC. It was scheduled to begin at 9 am and end at 2 pm. The movers arrived at 9:35 and began the move at 10:10 am. I was charged starting at 9 am. This seems unfair to me.

Here are my grievances:

1. The crew stood outside my apartment talking and looking on their cell phones for 25 minutes (I counted) before starting the job. There was no sense of urgency in wrapping my furniture and getting it out the door, even though I'd moved all of my things into the living room. The lead on the move spent a majority of her time scrolling her cell phone.

2. According to the company, the crew were supposed to come with any tools necessary so I wouldn't have to lift a finger to disassemble furniture. They had no tools, and asked me if I would do it myself--which would mean that any damage to the furniture would be my fault. I said no, I won't, because that's your job.

3. My bed was assembled when I bought it, and since they didn't have the wrench to take the headboard off the frame, the crew stood around scratching their heads when trying to get it through the glass door of my new home. I had to show them how to loosen the door so it could be opened wide, and provide them with one of my wrenches. One of them thought it best to take the entire door apart. Luckily, I stopped them before that happened.

4. My bed frame and my dining table were scarred during the move. The amount I was allowed to claim will not cover the cost of the repairs to the furniture.

5. The person in charge hurried me through the signing process before my items were unloaded in the new home, saying they couldn't unload until I signed. I felt undue pressure to read all of the fine print as fast as possible and sign so they would actually do the work in an expedient manner. This made me feel downright panicky.

6. The head mover wasn't able to interpret some of the line items on the Bill Of Lading when I asked her to explain them. This seems fishy to me. Why should I have to sign off on and pay for a job before it's completed to my satisfaction? Why can't the lead mover explain the terms on the Bill of Lading to me? Unprofessional.

7. All of the boxes I was supposed to digitally sign were already signed with someone else's scribbled signature. I pointed this out and the lead on the move shrugged her shoulders, said she didn't know how to clear the signatures out, and told me to "Just sign on top of the signature that's already there and that should be okay." Again, this seemed fishy and risky--my signature doesn't accurately show up on the Bill Of Lading. Is this legal? Do I have consumer rights here?

7. I was coerced into leaving a stellar review. The lead on the move showed me how to leave the review by clicking all five stars for me, and typing in a thumbs up, then saying "just click post here" (which she did) and "get a picture with us to post" and then orchestrating the whole thing. After they left, I went back to Google reviews and changed it to a two star review.

8. Because of their unprofessional demeanor, casual attitude and inept knowledge of how to fully wrap my furniture, what should have been a three hour move with a 15 minute travel time turned into a move of over 5 hours and a shocking price tag of over $1500 for a local move of just over fifteen minutes door to door.

All My Sons pride themselves on being customer focused and dedicated to getting it right, striving for a stress-free, damage-free, and confusion-free moving experience.

This was NOT my experience, and it sure would be nice if one of their representatives would make it right.

Desired outcome: I would like a response, an apology, and a reimbursement of $400, which is less than 1/3 of the cost of the move.
