Zaxby's review: Management!!

I would like to start off this complaint by explaining how disappointed I am in Zaxby’s, specifically the Zaxby’s in Smithfield, NC. I worked there for a while, and have had the worst job experience. First off, the whole management team is very messy and are allowed to do whatever they want, when they want. They like to show favoritism, hypocrisy, and discrimination. There have been multiple times where an employee has gotten disciplined by another manager because of what a different manager told them to do. There are several negative things that go on in Zaxby’s. For example, drug use(minors included), drama between management that is passed to employees, discrimination by race, etc. The workplace environment is horrible and I was just not expecting this from Zaxby’s. Every time I had to work, I constantly had to pick up others' slack, and anytime I would bring it to management, they brushed it off. They like to praise employees with a certain skin color but not the ones that actually do the work and are very loyal to the place. I’ve witnessed several great employees get written up/fired for something, while a different employee could do the same thing and nothing would happen. At my interview, I was informed that drug use was not allowed there, there would be drug use checks, and you shouldn’t be under the influence at work…but everyday, that was going on, even encouraged/used by the managers. Is that not hypocrisy? They also had us go outside in bad weather conditions, rain, freezing cold, very hot, and then complained that they didn't want to. There have been employees that got sick from being outside in these horrible weather conditions. I personally overlooked all of these negative things for the whole time I was there but I just got too fed up. I don’t think I was treated fairly and neither did my coworkers. A group of us constantly came to each other about how we’re being treated even to the managers, but not a thing has been done! I would love for someone to actually look into Zaxby’s, catch them off guard and just witness some of the unnecessary chaos. I would never recommend someone to work here simply just because of the management, the work nor the pay is bad.
