XCover.com & RentalCover.com Denied insurance after brain injury from assault with doctors note.

I purchased insurance for my flight to Europe. A few weeks after my trip, I was assaulted, knocked unconscious and now am suffering Traumatic Brain Injury, concussion, and several herniated discs in my back. I am unable to travel due to this incident. I filed a claim which my insurance wording clearly stated TBI was covered underneath my package. I provided a doctor's note stating my injury which is Traumatic Brain Injury along with 8 other diagnoses, my doctor wrote the symptoms of the brain injury, and my claim was "Denied without any further consideration." The "reason" was "Your protection doesn’t cover illnesses or medical conditions related to a mental, nervous or psychological condition." In what world is a Traumatic Brain Injury considered a "psychological illness"? I was assaulted, had my head cracked open, concussed, and am facing long term disability due to an INJURY - not "mental illness". Absolutely ridiculous, such a scam

Recommendation: It's a scam, don't buy it. They denied my insurance even though my plan included the injury I am dealing with

XCover.com & RentalCover.com xCover shipping insurance - Not to be trusted

I shipped my expensive Jura coffee maker to get fixed at Juera Pros in Arizona thru Shippo. Shippo recommended I get insurance on the shipping thru xCover.instead of UPS. The product got to the vendor and was fixed, but on the way back it was dropped hard by UPS and didn't work when I received it. I filed a claim, but was denied and they gave me a weak excuse saying that the part was disarranged,, not damaged. I spoke with the vendor and shipped it back, only to find out that the two broken parts inside were sheared off, and could only have happened due to a HARD drop. xCover could care less. They were never going to cover the cost, and made up this ridiculous excuse, which basicly says, if it's broken, tough. Our insurance is only for us to make money, not pay out claims. I spent another $700 to resend the product and get it shipped back, but this time I used FedEx and it got here in one piece.

Recommendation: Don't use this company for your insurance needs. They don't care about the customer. If you use Shippo, don't get insurance thru xCover.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Claim unsuccessful as the police report is requested within 4 hours of the incident

purchased Xcover insurance with Ryanair. My bag has been stolen in the afternoon and I went to the police office immediately. Unfortunately, it was closed at 4pm, so I went the police office in the next day morning and got the police report. When I did claim with Xcover, they did ask me to get more and more information in the first 2 months. Then after ~2.5months, the said "Your protection doesn’t cover your situation. The following exclusion applies: Please note that you are not covered under this policy if the required police report is not requested within 4 hours of the incident.". The 4 hours report is not in the document and this is almost impossible for a traveler to get a police report aboard. I also do not understand why they did not mention this at he beginning of the claim process. I send a complaint to Xcover and took another 2 months with the same declined result.

Never purchase Xcover insurance if you are not guarantee to get a police report within 4 hours.

Recommendation: Never purchase Xcover insurance if you are not guarantee to get a police report within 4 hours.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Trip insurance

Do not purchase this insurance through Priceline. Had our return flight cancelled by airline (Spirit) and they could only rebook us for two days out. We had a funeral the next day to attend, so had to get another flight on another airline (SouthWest). We purchased points to use for three tickets, as we are SWA loyalty members. Little did we know, Xcover does not refund for flights paid for by points. We also had to book a hotel, and had dinner. Looked back at documents they supplied me when I purchased the insurance, these terms were not included, nor available on their website. They produced them with their denial request. I showed the how much we paid for added points. Would not consider it. NEVER using them again.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Travel insurance

Purchased a flight with Booking.com. At the time that I made that purchase I was offered trip insurance (which I purchased). Just prior to the date of my departure, my mother fell and broke her hip & femur and I was unable to go on my trip. When I went to file my claim, I was forwarded to Xcover.com, who apparently is the partner company of Booking.com for their insurance claims.

Well, Xcover.com website is not user friendly, and the more that you deal with them, the more likely that they will not assist you.

I strongly suggest that travelers avoid Xcover.com, and since Booking.com uses Xcover.com, suggest that travelers avoid Booking.com as well.

Claimed loss: $218.60 (of which only $82 is refundable)

Desired outcome: I would like my $82 credit back to my credit card.

Both companies suffer from XCover.com’salmost insentient service and from the fact that Booking.com decided to collaborate with them. XCover is refusing to settle your claim – get the matter to their support team, providing all correspondences and follow it up. If they move after that it can even be quicker. If it works in that way this is great. If not contact your credit card company, dispute the charge against the insurance and ask for a credit. Next time, buy your travel insurance from a better company – it is simply not worth the headache.

I purchased event coverage from XCover.com for a show I couldn’t attend due to a COVID diagnosis. Despite providing proof, including metadata of test results from the day of the event, XCover.com has refused to honor the refund, demanding additional documentation like a medical certificate that wasn’t originally specified. I escalated the issue to the Better Business Bureau, but they accepted XCover’s response without further action. I want to warn others about XCover’s lack of support and transparency in honoring their policies. Avoid purchasing from XCover if you expect reliable coverage. For the record, I've been battling this for months now out of principle, they're putting up a fight because they don't want to cough up a mere $70.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate the refund of the tickets to the show I was unable to attend.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com The company refusing to pay for my fly

I went on a trip to Poland and bought insurance before leaving. My stay abroad was supposed to last 40 days but due to an accident with my partner with whom I have lived for 20 years I was forced to return immediately after 12 days. I contacted the insurance company where I bought my insurance and a refund for the return ticket. I presented all the documents that were requested from me. Proof of my partner's hospital stay, change of the return date of my ticket, proof and the amount I paid using my credit card as well as proof of joint residence in the form of correspondence sent to the joint address. They used different reasons all the time in the form of the same proofs just to avoid a refund. I had to send the same documents several times and as a result they refused to refund my money claiming that I did not have legal documents confirming my relationship with my partner. I stated from the very beginning that this is my partner with whom we live together and due to his accident and stay in hospital I had to shorten my stay immediately. Since I informed about this from the very beginning, why was I asked to provide the circumstances of my return and provide all documents, in order to use the excuse that this is my partner but without status. I ask for intervention in my case so that the insurance not only collects money but also is actually obliged to return the money when necessary.

I ordered and paid for my Xcover flight insurance 24.11.2023. on the date 25.11. I got very sick and went to Emergency and immediately wrote a claim for X cover because I knew I will not be able to fly. In the next days I went to Emergency again and I also have a proof from my practicioner that I was sick for almost 2 weeks. I sent all documents to Xcover but never got any confirmation back from them about receiving the documents. So I kept sending them again and again. I made a screen video of me sending the documents and the proof on their website claiming that all documents were uploaded successfully. However when loggign into my account the statuf of the claim was always pending and that my action is needed about sending documents. This never changerd even though I sent it to them many many times. I wrote to them several emails, SMS, many requests on their website throught help centre, never got any answer. Now my claim is closed as per I didnt send the documents on time. That is not true and I can prove it.

My husband is active duty military. We had tickets (with our 3 children, 3 and under) to go to a show in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, my husband had to leave for deployment and I am unable to travel from San Diego to Vegas by myself and take the kids to the show. I filed a claim and sent in his orders, they told me since the orders started in 2020, they don’t count (it’s a 5 contract). Then I provided a deployment letter from the air officer that states the dates on deployment and they said it won’t work because the date isn’t covered, which it is. They also said because the letter wasn’t dated. It literally has the deployment dates on it. I have left a message and sent multiple emails so I can talk to an actual human, because this is ridiculous. Orders and a signed deployment letter should be enough.

DO NOT BUY COVER FROM XCOVER! You have been warned.

Flight cancellation due to strikes out of my control, accommodation through booking.com canceled, booked trips etc canceled... NO COVER They do not cover Hotel and Theme Park tickets, what is the point of this insurance? I will be taking this further and reporting back to Ryanair as I purchased through their app! Complete scam company with no number to call, will be reporting to ombudsman, should not be trading

Purchased XCover.com Travel Insurance through Booking.com, (27 Sept 2023) to cover a round trip flight ticket. They were supposed to send me the insurance documents, insurance booking reference, and certificate needed for me to submit a claim. They didn't.

I've filled their contact form three times, asking for the documents, but they always reply with the same automated email: "please send us your insurance booking reference. This is the number that ends with "-INS" that can be found in the subject line of your confirmation email. We need this because we couldn’t find your booking in our system using just your name and email address."

I cannot send that information because they never provided it.

There is no online chat nor telephone number. I've been reading here in this forum and on reddit and seems that's the way they operate (scam): always sending automated emails requiring more info/documents.

Booking provides no way no contact or manage the insurance either, except from "go to their webpage". Total rip-off, don't know how this type of scam is legal and why would booking work with these scammers.

Desired outcome: Refund and cancellation.

Read around this forum or reddit; this company is a scam.

They'll just send you automated emails asking for more documents every time, and even if you provide said documents, the automated email will continue asking for them.

They will never pay you anything and there's no way to contact them, no chat, no phone. Just a mail bot. Scam.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Revolut metal travel protection hu6w7-tufjs-ins

I made a claim to Xcover through my Revolut Metal plan because I was unable to follow through with my plans to stay abroad due to losing my passport a couple of days before my scheduled flight. I wished to claim back the cost of my accommodation which I am covered for and the reasoning behind my claim I am also covered for and it is not included in any of the general exclusions on the wording of my policy.

I claimed on the 23/09/23 and after a couple of days I received a response saying that my claim was denied because I could not claim due to not acquiring the necessary documents needed for travel which is not true as it is not that I HAD NOT ACQUIRED the documents it is that I LOST my documents which is clearly stated in the policy wording as covered. I then responded with this, screenshotting the policy wording. I then received a cut and paste response again saying the same thing as before.

Because these emails from me had clearly not been read I decided to make a complaint on the 28/09/2023. I then received an email on the 08/11/2023 asking me to submit more documents, which I may add I had given before, I submitted these the same day I was asked. I then received another email a week later asking me to submit more documents, which I had also submitted before, I also submitted these on the same day.

It has now very nearly been 8 weeks since I made the complaint, I have had no updates from them at all. They have no responses from their customer service email. They have no phone number that you can call to find out what is going on. I am very very surprised that this company can be regulated by the FCA because it seems like there is something very shady going on here. They try and long you out as long as possible by asking for documents that you've already submitted and only reply using automated emails and basically try and tire you out until you give up on the claim.

I most probably will bring my complaint to the Ombudsman service soon if they don't sort this out by the 8 week cut off for response on the complaint because this is getting beyond ridiculous and is actually against regulation.

I hope they can sort this situation before this.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and my claim to be accepted due to it being valid.

Purchased XCover travel insurance for 3x adults travelling to Ireland for a family friend’s wedding in October 2023. Unfortunately the trip was cancelled due to a serious medical emergency of the groom. I notified RyanAir that we would not be able to travel due to the emergency. RyanAir advised us to leave the flights and let it become a ‘no-show’ which would enable us to claim a refund of our flights through our travel insurer XCover.

I contacted XCover insurance and submitted a claim for our flights (approximately £300), however, after weeks of waiting for a response they have responded rejecting the claim. I have been unable to speak to anyone in their customer service department via phone, and they take weeks to reply to emails!

DO NOT USE XCOVER!

Claimed loss: £300

Desired outcome: Refund of full flight cost paid

Has been 3 weeks since claim submitted and no progress. There's no telephone number and is advertised as 3 days. I bad 3 claims. One just says submitted and other says assessment since over a week. Very slow. Their emergency helpline for medical emergencies isn't that great either. They send you to hospitals which make you pay.

On September 29th 2023, myself, my wife, my daughter & her friend went to Benidorm for a short break to celebrate our friends' birthday, in total there were 18 of us all adults. Whilst we were checking into the hotel Helios, my wife had her tote leather bag stolen, this was captured on CCTV by the hotel. Items that were in the bag were, mobile phone, passports, prescription glasses, money (1100 euros) car keys, house keys, credit cards, driving license. The hotel called the local police, I had to go to the police station and file a report, needless to say the bag & contents were never recovered. We cancelled all the items, phone, passports, credit cards, driving licenses.

We then had to arrange for emergency Passports to get back home, these cost £100 each, we had to travel to the British Consulate in Alicante which cost us 180 euros for round trip. When we arrived home, I filed an insurance claim with XCOVER.com I sent all Receipts, bank statements etc, but all I keep getting back is an email asking for more information, I have asked them to be specific as to what information they require, but all I get back is the same generic email saying they need more Information, I have asked them to phone me, so I can be clear as to what specific information they need, but no one has called, they are now saying if I do not send the information they require, they will close the case on 2nd December

I had taken a travel insurance with xcover for a travel with Rynair . My husband fractured his leg and I had to cancel the trip.I had submitted all the documents but have just been receiving automated email message stating that they are looking into my claim. It's more than 3 weeks and have still not heard anything back from them. After reading all the details in this portal I feel they will never settle my claim. They are unreachable very bad they are robbing our money

Total Scammers. Claim submitted on the 11th Oct with all correct documents uploaded same day, received three automated emails, we are still assessing your claim bla bla bla. The last email received on the 20th Oct with no communication since. The claim status has not changed still showing as submitted since 11th Oct. Sent multiple emails including complaints to XCover asking for an update on my claim. Guess what, nobody replied to me. Does any customer service exist with this company? After reading other reviews it seems I am not the only person having communication difficulties with the company. The more research I do on this company the worse it gets. Stop messing your customers around and do your job. Respond to customers and pay their claims. Also left a review on trustpilot its about all I can do.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Insurance refund

I have been trying to contact XCover for weeks, however I cannot find a reliable method to do so. I have used their website form, which I receive a response to “activate my account”. The email also states to respond to the email with any concerns and they will followup, which has not happened.

I am looking to contact them to resolve an issue with my insurance booking. I am not sure how to go about contacting them. I believe this is very unhelpful and it should be required to be able to correspond with a company that you’ve spent hundreds of dollars on.

Desired outcome: I would like to discuss getting a refund as I have not been able to have prepped correspondence which is very inconvenient.

I have contacted xCover multiple times and this is the only response I’ve received.

TourRadar has poorly handled all communication. I have not received any update from xCover. They are insisting on refusing a refund although there are many inconsistencies with what they are saying. I am extremely upset with this SCAM of an insurance company with ZERO OWNERSHIP OR ACCOUNTABILITY.

I would just like to discuss things with xCover as TourRadar just continues to refuse refund without understanding that based on all the events and inconsistencies (and human COURTESY) I believe I am entitled to a refund.

DO NOT BOOK WITH TOUR RADAR OR XCOVER THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

The level of customer service is absolutely disgusting. I provided all required evidence upon initial submission of my claim. After several days I heard nothing so I sent you a message. A few days later I was sent an email asking for a bank statement. I sent a message advising you already had this. Several days later I received another generic email again asking for the bank statement. I again sent a message advising you already had this, but despite this I uploaded it again and to give me a call. Several days later I received no call, but low and behold I got yet another email asking for my bank statement. I again, sent this to you, cue several days later yet another request for my bank statement. I requested multiple times for you to call me to resolve it. You never once called. There is literally zero way to escalate this with you directly. You seem to put up all barriers for the customer to contact you. There is no way to get the situation resolved as all my correspondence to you fell on deaf ears and was as though I'd never eve tried contacting you. The only way I got this resolved was to go to revolut directly for them to intervene and to get the matter resolved. It was a truly horrendous experience dealing with you and would never recommend such a cowboy outfit to anyone. I'm only pleased my claim was for a small amount as I dread to think what the experience would have been like had I had a more substantial claim. If I was overseas and the claim had to be processed prior to a hospital treatment commencing for a major operation, I could see customers dying due to the painfully slow and incompetent process you have at xcover. You are an absolute shambles and a total disgrace of a company.

Desired outcome: Change your internal processes for dealing with customers. Make an option available for customers to contact you. Respond to direct questions raised by customers. Do not ignore evidence submitted by customers.

I had a terrible experience with XCover insurance company, and I want to warn everyone about their abysmal customer service and handling of refund issues. I had purchased their insurance policy with reference 7VG7Y-ERP3I-INS through Booking.com for my trip to Barcelona, Spain. Unfortunately, on the night of February 7, 2023, at 01:30, I became a victim of theft at Barcelona Airport, resulting in a loss of 5200 Euros worth of personal belongings.

Naturally, I reported this unfortunate incident to XCover, expecting them to provide the support and coverage promised by their policy. However, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. After waiting for over a month and a half, they finally got back to me with a refund offer of a measly 500 Euros for all the stolen items.

I immediately expressed my dissatisfaction with their proposed refund, as it was nowhere near adequate to cover the loss I had suffered. I tried to negotiate with them through numerous emails, pleading for a more reasonable compensation, but to my dismay, I received no response whatsoever. It's beyond frustrating that a company would completely ignore a customer who is seeking help and fairness.

What makes matters worse is the lack of direct communication options with XCover. They have no phone number for customers to call, and their support tickets go unanswered, leaving you with no real means of resolving issues or seeking assistance in a timely manner.

In light of this abhorrent experience, I strongly advise against booking travel insurance with XCover. They have shown a complete disregard for their customers' needs and concerns, leaving me with the impression that they are more interested in collecting premiums than actually providing meaningful coverage and support when it's needed the most. Steer clear of XCover, as you're likely to find yourself in a similar frustrating and fruitless situation if you ever have to make a claim.

Desired outcome: Refund me full amount 5200 Euro

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Cancellation policy

Aug 28, 2023, I purchased Xcover insurance via Tourradar.
Received a confirmation email w/"xxx-INS" policy purchased.
Followed their email to log in to view documents.
Saw the policy coverage was Aug 30, 2023-October 23, 2023
(Oct 23 is the start of tour but the tour ends Oct 27th).
Aug 28, 2023, I went on their website and asked why my policy was not thru the end of tour?
Aug 29, 2023, I received an email from Xcover stating I needed to set up/activate my account with them before they could respond to my question/enquiry.
I set up my account and then asked my question regarding dates on my policy.
Aug 31, 2023 I received an email from Xcover and it said I needed to request via their "claim".
I thought it was odd but followed their instructions.
Sept 1, 2023 After investigating more on travel insurance, I decided to cancel insurance w/Xcover and look into buying a policy that would cover both airline and tour costs of my trip.
Sept, 1, 2023, received an email from Tourradar stating my "request" to Xcover was forwarded. But, did not state what request. My initial one about dates or was it my cancellation request?
Sept 4, 2023 received an email from Xcover stating my request was a "claims" inquiry and they forwarded to their claims department.
Again, ws it for my initial date request question or my cacellation request?
This is where my complaint starts with this company as well as Tourradar.
Sept 5th, Tourradar CS stated they contacted Xcover and said "Unfortunately, because you have submitted a claim and therefore used your poicy, it is non-refundable".
My reply back was "I had to file a claim to ask about date change and not an actual $ claim."
Sept 8th, Xcover sends me a text stating update regarding my claim.
I clicked on the link, it was to take survey of their company and had nothing to do with my claim.
To sum up my complaint, I followed their insturctions to submit my question about my travel insurance dates via their claims. In doing so, they stated I activated my account and therefore no refund for my cancellation request.
This to me is unacceptable excuse to not process my cancellation request.
Also, another issue was I never received the "documents" they stated having the coverage plan and emergency number to contact them (which I would need to submit to the tour company to complete their request).
Thank you for allowing me to air my complaint against Xcover at this time.

Desired outcome: Please process my request for cancellation of travel insurance as I did NOT make a $ claim. Only an inquiry as to why my insurance from you only covered up to the start of my tour and not to the end of my tour.

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Insurance for concert tickets to see Luis Miguel Sept 20, 2023

In March 2022, I had the gastric sleeve. Getting healthy and fit has been my biggest goal; as of today 416 to 193 with diet and exercise. So, in March 2023, I scheduled to travel to have rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, I could not make that trip. So, I rescheduled for October 2023. Seeing as though I would be here, I booked two tickets to see Luis Miguel; 902 with XCover ins. From Aug to Sept, I lost an additional 10lbs without trying and noticed that the skin on my face was now so heavy that is was pulling my eyelids down. I started getting headaches and my vision started getting blurry. So, after speaking with the medical staff, they informed me that I had to removed the heavy skin on my face or it could cause damage to my eyes. I immediately called my surgeons in Turkey and they added the skin removal and another surgery to my procedure and immediately put me in based on what I was told. I have an additional appointment with my primary on 9/15/2023. All this happening on 9/1/2023; which is when i booked my flight. After, knowing I would be having more medical procedures. I made contact with XCover and sent what documents we could because the surgeons in Turkey would need to write up a more clear diagnosis after I get there. They denied my claim saying it was strictly cosmetic. I then replied to them showing them my face and red eyeballs explaining that one is but the other is for my eyes and the slight rash under my neck; which was unforeseen. I wrote the state, in addition to XCover, and also showed them my face; which was so embarrassing. They have yet to say anything or respond to me. I am still gathering up more proof that this is a medical necessity. My vision impacts my job and my health. I am sitting in front of a computer and suddenly my eyes get blurry. I can't close them at the bottom until I lift the skin under my chin. Imagine doing that all day :(! The only time I can close my eyes is when I am lying down and all that skin falls back on my neck. No one knows the pain I am going through but to deny me is not right!

Desired outcome: I wish they could walk in my shoes. Yet, by ignoring me, makes me feel invaluable. Honor the policy you yourself wrote XCover!

XCover.com & RentalCover.com Flight insurance

Hi,

I used booking.com to book two flights for co-workers. I purchased the insurance in case something came up and I had to cancel. Something came up with our employer and I had to cancel. I contacted booking.com and they told me to contact xcover. I made a claim to refund both tickets and they told me it wasn't covered unless they were teachers, students, had a test, was sick, or lost a body part. On the booking.com website when you pick to have the insurance it says it covers canceling it. I attached screenshots of what it says is covered and what they emailed is really covered. I think it's very misleading. Especially when it's an unforeseen issue I have no control over.

Desired outcome: I just want the refund to be put back on the card for the whole amount of each flight I booked.

Alaska Airlines only gave me a credit of $336.70. I would like the rest of the amount refunded, which would be $254.89. I think that's only fair since their insurance for the plane tickets is very miss leading.

Alaska Airlines was nice enough to give me credit for the flights. I will never use booking.com or Xcover.
